About Me

  1. Since 2015 AIS Pejaten Campus has been authorized by the IB Organisation to teach the IB Diploma Programme which is offered to Year 11 and 12 students. This program is highly respected by Universities globally and students who gain the IB Diploma have access to University places all over the world. "Success in an IB program correlates well with success at Harvard. We are always pleased to see the credentials of the IB Diploma Program on the transcript.” GPA is not nearly as important a factor in university admission as the IB Diploma. If a student has to choose, choose the Diploma over protecting the GPA."Harvard University, Marilyn McGrath Lewis, Asst. Dean of Admissions "The breadth of the IB Diploma has always appealed to LSE selectors. We find that because the IB is intellectually and personally demanding, it provides a very good springboard for study at university level"Jan Stockdale, dean of undergraduate studies at the London School of Economics (LSE) "My eyes light up when I see ‘International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme’ on a transcript. Students who apply to Michigan State University with IB credentials are assumed to be mature, curious, and creative. They have proven to be successful in a rigorous program that is both broad and deep in its content and intellectual challenge. On-campus, IB graduates move with ease in a diverse and global university that demands intercultural skill and adaptability. The challenge of completing an IB diploma means that a student has engaged in the kind of rigorous work that is likely to help them become not just an outstanding college student and citizen of the world, but an exceptional one." Michigan State University, Pamela Horne, Assistant to the Provost for Enrollment and Director of Admissions. Our new secondary school campus is located in Pejaten, South Jakarta. A stately mansion with multiple facilities, AIS Pejaten offers a stimulating Australian curriculum along with a range of exciting opportunities for students from Year 7 to 12 and the IB Diploma for Senior Secondary. Our students are encouraged to maximize their potential, explore possibilities, and take responsibility for their learning. Each student’s development is guided by experienced staff working closely in partnership with the student’s parents. AIS Pejaten is a friendly and cohesive community based on strong relationships between students, teachers, and parents. Counselors, subject and homeroom teachers provide support and encouragement in the process of working through personal interests, making course selections, and career choices. Australian Independent School, Pejaten.

  4. The Australian Islamic College Adelaide is an independent school and a member of the South Australian Association of Independent Schools. Our college community began in 1998 and has seen many positive changes over the years. The teachers and staff strive to educate children positively, bringing about a greater awareness of the globalized world we live in. Teachers also aim at guiding students to employ knowledge inflexible and novel ways to develop concepts that they can transfer from the school, to understand the world around them. Most of all, we aim to guide students in developing lifelong intellectual pursuits and achieving success in learning. The curriculum is currently based on the South Australian Curriculum Framework, covering the eight learning areas of English, Mathematics, The Arts, Design and Technology, Studies of Society and Environment, Health and Physical Education, and Science. Students also study Arabic as a language and learn about the Holy Quran in Quranic Studies and customs in Islamic Studies. We are proud of our results in Year 12, which demonstrates that a school community is working together, encouraging students to become confident in achieving individuals. As a National Curriculum is developed across Australia, the Australian Islamic College Adelaide is preparing teachers, informing parents, and supporting students with changes. 5. The Australian Islamic College Kewdale is a God-centred, co-educational institution (K to 12) which provides a high level of academic and integrated Islamic education through its network of three colleges in Perth. The Australian Islamic College (previously named the Muslim Community School) opened its doors in February 1986. Our visionary founder Haji Abdallah Magar recognized that there was no faith-based educational institution catering for a Muslim student and fearing that their rich heritage, both cultural and religious, would be lost, he established the first Islamic School in Western Australia with a modest network of 50 students and three teachers. The Australian Islamic College is now Western Australia's largest and longest-running Islamic School with over 2600 students and 275 staff across three campuses in Dianella, Kewdale, and Thornlie. Mission Islamic Values and Academic Excellence for Success in this Life and the Hereafter. Our goal is for our youth to aspire towards excellence in both character and education. We want our students to encounter new educational experiences that will serve their future aspirations while maintaining a balance between academic pursuits and Islamic values. The College has a unique mix of students from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds, allowing them to understand Australia's multicultural society better. Students are taught to be proud Australian citizens and contribute to building a prosperous, harmonious, and safe Australia. With its intensive ESL training for New Arrivals and Gifted and Talented program for exceptional students, the AIC provides for its student population's varying needs with exceptional results. The College's success in achieving its educational objectives is attributed to its network of experienced teachers, its emphasis on practical learning, and its goal of inspiring its youth to aim for excellence in academic and personal spheres of life. Education is the business of producing successful global citizens. At AIC, we cherish the opportunity to teach young minds, mold their personalities, and mentor them towards success in this life and the next. We aim to give every student in our care the very best education to prepare them for life beyond school. An integral part of that education is to encourage our students and teachers to become life-long learners. We aspire to be a 'Learning Community,' which encourages staff, students, and parents to involve themselves fully in all aspects of school life and learning. At AIC Dianella, our students mean the world to us. We encourage them to push boundaries, experiment, debate, strive for personal bests, embrace opportunities, overcome obstacles, and grow as individuals. Our single-gender high School allows our girls to have greater self-confidence and build self-esteem grounded in self-awareness rather than in the image. Our staff is highly professional. Them teaching is not just a job. It is their vocation. They know how meaningful good relationships are in a school and how education is based on a strong partnership between the School and the home. At AIC Dianella, we welcome and encourage open and positive communication with parents. Values integration is more than just teaching the students what is right; it is about promoting within the student's perceptions in life such as – Studying and working hard are acts of worship To love and forgive each other for the sake of God To repel evil with good in return To love for others what you love for your self Modesty in dress and actions at all times Through education, we achieve enlightenment. In the conditions of enlightenment, we make informed choices that become the guiding influences in our lives. The Australian Islamic College aims to equip students to make such enlighted decisions based on a broader awareness of society's needs. Our language enriches us and enables us to articulate every thought, idea, observation, feeling, or moment we cherish. Our language is not the instrument of our intellectual imprisonment. Our religion enlightens us and inspires us towards our higher selves and our noblest, divinely endowed potentialities. Our religion is not the medium that drives us towards evil deeds and badness and mindlessness. Our culture empowers us to draw from the best of received wisdom and acquire cultural behaviors that are uniquely beautiful and supportive of a cultural order. Our culture is not the vehicle of static rituals, myths, and symbols. With a broader appreciation of our culture and faith, our students can come to appreciate the positive contribution they can make to society. Through values integration, our next generation of children will know how to deal with the world using proper conduct and morals. Values Integration is about teaching students how to use their knowledge for the betterment of themselves and society. The outcome is not what society can offer us, but what we as individuals can offer society. Islamic Values integration teaches that God-consciousness and morality are the foundations of a healthy society. AIC endeavors to ensure a future generation of students who will graduate with substantial academic achievements and a strong identification of society's well-being underpinned by values such as the power of knowledge, respect, responsibility, and forgiveness, truthfulness, cooperation, etc. Students are taught that good conduct behavior, and self-development are all acts of worship. To strive and achieve one's full potential is seen as a duty. The benefits are long-lasting and far-reaching, providing practical solutions to save society billions of dollars. Just consider the positive societal benefits from a generation of young adults not involved in alcohol consumption, illicit drug use, strong work ethics, and high morals in dealing with others? You will find values emphasizing every facet of College life- from room decorations to assembly presentations. To improve upon moral values and attitudes, each week, students emphasize a particular value as a 'Theme of the week.' Examples include "Justice and Tolerance." The existence, love, and fear of God, is continuously conveyed to students as it is a school policy that teachers in all subject areas deliberately acknowledge God and incorporate values in each lesson throughout the whole day. These efforts reflect AIC's view of its students 'holistic' development, both academically and spiritually. View full school
  6. Welcome to The Australian International College Website. It is a privilege to serve you all as the principal of our three campuses. MashaAllah, I am blessed to be working very closely with very enthusiastic students who are willing to learn, supportive parents/guardians interested in their children's education, and dedicated professional staff and board committed to providing quality education. Our core objectives are to ensure that students have all the skills, knowledge, and attributes that would be expected after 13 years of schooling so that their personal growth enables them to have the capacity to participate as responsible and productive citizens of this beautiful country, Australia. Our dedicated staff has put in many hours of professional learning, planning, and preparation for the new Australian curriculum and, in particular, in the areas of Numeracy and Literacy. This should provide you, our parents, and students with confidence in our College as an academic excellence provider. Australian International Islamic College provides an excellent academic program, but, by itself and without each student's commitment, success will be limited. I need every student to own their responsibility for their learning, and this process begins in the quietness of their homes when parents discuss these issues and help their children set realistic goals for the year ahead. I want to encourage each parent/guardian to be active in their child's education. I certainly realize that many of you lead busy lives; however, taking just a few minutes in the evening to read to your child, talk with your child about school, or see that your child is organized for the next school day can significantly benefit. The curriculum at the Australian International Islamic College endeavors to empower every student to achieve success in their learning through the development of life-long learning skills. With Australian / Islamic values integrated throughout the curriculum, students are encouraged to value multiculturalism locally and globally. All curriculum guidelines are based on the QSA Syllabus materials and guidelines. As Australia moved towards a National Curriculum, the implementation of National Standards is implemented at our College. We encourage you to view the subjects offered/curriculum at our College and direct any further questions at the College. The Australian International Islamic College (AIIC) began its journey back in 2002, with the Buranda Campus opening. Back then, it was known as the Brisbane Muslim School and began with 20 students, from grades 1 – 3. In its second year of operation, the school year range was extended to accommodate year levels from Preschool to Year 5, as enrolments had doubled to 60 students. View full school
  7. Founded originally in 1983, in the Melbourne suburb of Coburg, and named after its patron, our King Khalid Islamic College became the first full-time Islamic School in Australia. A commitment to excellence has seen the Academy experience phenomenal growth since then. Our school now boasts three campuses in Melbourne, two campuses in Sydney, and an international campus in Abu Dhabi, UAE. While we are not a selective school, all our campuses promote academic and spiritual life's highest achievement. Our curriculum provides children with a strong sense of community and values by incorporating the International Baccalaureate program and religious studies. We aim to provide quality education in a caring and supportive Islamic faith environment. We encourage our students to aim for personal excellence and develop independent learning and critical thinking skills. We utilize a variety of programs to promote self-esteem, self-discipline, responsibility, and leadership. We aim to foster in our graduates an awareness of interdependence as members of a multicultural community and the world and develop a sense of service and a commitment to act with justice and compassion. At the Australian International Academy (Sydney campus), Primary School students are pivotal to the teaching and learning program. They are perceived holistically, considering their social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual wellbeing. They can become internationally-minded people who engage in world issues and take on constructive action where necessary. Our primary school curriculum has coverage of the NSW Board of Studies requirements and International Baccalaureate – Primary Years Programme's pedagogy. The teaching and learning curriculum is a concept-driven, inquiry-based program that recognizes students as lifelong learners that require purposeful, authentic, challenging, and in-depth learning. Teachers facilitate students' learning through a differentiated program that considers different learning styles, abilities, and interests. We do this by offering students opportunities to work in exclusive supported programs, one-on-one learning experiences, hands-on, open-ended learning, group work, and discussions through these programs. Students benefit from building their research, communication, social, self-management, and thinking skills. As a faith-based school, all our students need to develop a sound knowledge of the Islamic Faith. We promote the development of a student's emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing. Integral to this is for students to build positive relationships with people of different races, cultures, languages, genders, social backgrounds and demonstrate love and respect to natural environments and its connection with the universe we live in. In Islamic Studies, students are continually developing self-reflective and critical thinking skills to be responsible citizens. They use the beliefs and practices of the Islamic faith to inform their behavior and actions by drawing from the Holy Quran's wisdom and the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) – as a basis of knowledge, actions, and values. We believe this will guide Muslim students to be good Muslim Australian citizens. Our school is also committed to nurturing the mother-tongue and supporting students to become multilingual. We believe that multilingualism is an internationally-minded person trait, which helps them participate in academically at school and in their social lives. It provides an intellectual framework to support conceptual development and critical thinking skills and support students to embrace diversity and difference by having access to various perspectives across the globe. Our school provides Arabic lessons that enable students to develop communication skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing to express themselves and understand others in Arabic effectively. In the Primary Department, it is integral that we build student capacity as life- long learners through instilling values and attitudes that enable students to be effective communicators, open-minded in their interactions, confident in themselves, independent as well as collaborative learners, creative and critical thinkers when analyzing, problem-solving and evaluating. Our academic curriculum for the Senior School is designed to give our students a broad and well-rounded education while allowing them maximum opportunity to develop their interests and strengths through their chosen fields of specialist study. Record of School Achievement (RoSA) – Board of Studies endorsed courses for Year 7 to Year 10 Middle Years Programme (MYP) – IBO endorsed courses for Year 6 to Year 10 Higher School Certificate (HSC) – Board of Studies endorsed courses for Years 11 & 12. The area offers various lifestyle options and is serviced by a Bus T-Way from the East and arterial roads from Sydney's Northern and Western regions. The design of the Kellyville Campus complements the surrounds and provides extensive, airy, naturally lit spaces for learning to flourish. The grounds are littered with native plants making the environment of the School, both aesthetic and sustainable. Our campus opened in 2013, with 20 students from K-6. In the 2016 school year, we had over 300 students from K-10. The School currently has more than 420 enrolments and caters to students from KG to Year 12. As a brand new school, we offer our students outstanding facilities across our primary and secondary schools on one campus. The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end, the organization works with schools, governments, and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment. These programs encourage students worldwide to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right. We are proud of the world-class academic programs that we host at the MSC. Apart from the MSC's academic programs building on our student's achievements in the King Khalid Primary Campus, our faculties and educational support services operate in substantial alignment with our Middle Years, IB DP, and VCE programs. Our Academy Curriculum for the Junior School features: K – 6 Programme – Board of Studies endorsed courses for K to Yr 6 International Baccalaureate® (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) – The PYP prepares students to become active, caring, lifelong learners who demonstrate respect for themselves and others and have the capacity to participate in the world around them. It focuses on developing the whole child as an inquirer, both within and beyond the classroom. A technology-rich environment that prepares students well for the electronic world they will inherit. Access to a well resourced Library and Research Centre. Specialist teachers in the areas of Technology, Islamic Studies, Arabic, Visual Arts, and Performing Arts. Specialist staff and programs to meet the needs of students requiring learning support. Specialist teaching of Arabic and Quran. An Islamic foundation provides the framework for the right moral code, personal faith, and appropriate values development. Although an Islamic school, the Academy welcomes students from all faiths to understand that they will be educated in an Islamic environment. Peer Support and Mentoring programs. The Australian International Academy curriculum for the Middle School from Years 7 to 10 focuses on developing the "whole student" in their academic studies, personal and co-curricular achievements, and social, emotional, and spiritual well-being. We strive to give each student a broad, well-rounded education while allowing them the maximum opportunity to develop and fulfill the potential of their interests and strengths. The Australian International Academy curriculum for Senior Secondary students Years 11 and 12 focuses on developing the "whole student" to extend further and challenge each student's academic, personal, and co-curricular achievements and enhance their social, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The primary focus of the Senior Secondary School at AIA is to prepare students for University and further study while preserving an environment that allows for the expression of the student's Islamic character. Qualities prized by students at AIA include Care, Courtesy, Respect, and Responsibility Islamic manners, academic excellence, leadership, striving for achievement, internationalism, multiculturalism, acceptance, respect, and maturity. The School believes that by encouraging excellence in all fields, they can develop all the skills necessary for success in this world and the next. The educational programs offered to cater to the diversity in student interest and ability to ensure that all students maximize their potential and aspirations in their adult life. Students at the senior School undertake the New South Wales BOSTES Higher School Certificate (HSC) to meet the necessary academic entry requirements for tertiary education. The AIA Islamic Studies curriculum covers broad areas of Islam, including the Quraan, Hadeeth, Aqeedah, Fiqh, Seerah, and Akhlaaq (Islamic Character Education). The key concept used in our Islamic studies department is the Tarbiyyah Model. This model's focus is not only on learning the theory part of Islamic knowledge but also on the complete personal development of a student. Students are provided with motivating and entertaining Islamic knowledge. Our lessons are approached using the twin techniques of "fun – learn" and "learn – understand – apply." Using the first approach, we create fun lessons, encouraging and motivating our students to learn their faith. Using the second approach, we craft lessons that allow our students to practice what they learn. InshaAllah, this way of learning will boost our students' image and make them feel proud of their identity. View full school

  10. Established in 2008 by industry leaders in response to a need for an alternative style of senior education along with a training environment producing the best quality apprentices, the College has achieved outstanding results in its early years – over 1100 apprenticeships have been created with over 90% of the graduates achieving their senior school certificate, the Queensland Certificate of Education and an apprenticeship. The AITC Board of Directors is responsible for developing policies to ensure that guidelines are followed and adopted within the AITC. Policies are designed to influence and determine all major decisions and actions, and all activities take place within the boundaries set by them. These policies are reviewed annually or as required. The AITC has developed an innovative senior educational program that meets the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) requirements and has the flexibility to respond to the needs of the industry. The AITC program is designed to provide young people with the learning experiences that will position them to attain a Queensland Certificate of Education and transition smoothly into work and training. Young people engage in a structured education program and a range of work and training placements. Young people may join the AITC program at several points: Year 10 intake: The first year of the AITC program contributes credits towards the Queensland Certificate of Education and focuses on work and life skills. It also includes a Trade Taster program and supported work experience. Year 11 and 12 intakes: The final two years of the AITC program engage young people in senior education and trade training that lead to a Queensland Certificate of Education. An individualized employability skills program, extended work placements, and specific trade training guide young people toward attaining apprenticeship or traineeship outcomes. The program structure each term involves: A five-week College block focused on the delivery of an education module. A five to seven-week Employment block focused on employability skills, work, and training. The curriculum at the AITC is unique. It is carefully selected to progressively develop employability skills and achieve individualized learning goals while also meeting the requirements of the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) and the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). The College aims to seamlessly blend senior education and vocational training to engage young people in purposeful learning experiences with real-world relevance. Our young people study two QCAA subjects and complete four nationally registered qualifications, which give them 20 credit points towards their Queensland Certificate of Education upon completion. The AITC academic curriculum is made up of learning modules that are distinct units of study in: English Communication: This literacy-based course is designed to allow young people to develop and use written, spoken, and digital communication skills that underpin success in workplaces and other real-life contexts. The course covers a range of topic areas, including advertising, global issues, and DIY (which focuses on trade-based tasks). Pre-Vocational Maths: This practical numeracy-based course covers tax, finance and budgeting, design, and measurement. Workplace contexts are used for tasks when possible, and young people are drilled in the mathematical skills required for specific trades. Vocational Education and Training: Our young people complete Certificate I, II, and III in Business and Certificate I and II in Information, Digital Media, and Technology. These courses are tailored to reflect young tradespeople's needs as they embark on a career in industry and include topics in financial management, MYOB, manage a micro-business, and electronic communication. Suppose a young person has already achieved some qualifications (or parts thereof). In that case, the AITC will grant credit transfers for those achievements, providing we have access to original documentation from the RTO where training took place in the previous year(s). In this case, VET trainers will develop individual learning plans. Young people who complete all three years of the College's program have the opportunity to earn additional credit points towards their Queensland Certificate of Education by undertaking the following additional study: QCAA Literacy: This course is designed to help young people develop their reading, writing, oral communication, and learning skills while studying topics such as Heroes and Identity. QCAA Numeracy: This course is designed to help young people develop their mathematical information, mathematical processes, problem-solving skills, and learning while studying topics such as measurement, number and calculations, and data and statistics. Certificate I in Work and Life Skills: This course is designed to suit young tradespeople and includes units of competency such as "use digital technology for basic workplace tasks" and "apply for jobs and undertake job interviews." The Employment-Based Curriculum: Our young people engage in a range of work-based experiences that enhance their learning when they participate in training and employment as an apprentice or trainee. The AITC Employment-based curriculum is made up of a range of industry-based experiences and an employability skills program: Mentoring/Coaching: Employment Consultants from the AITC work with the Young People to guide them through the employment process. They assist in areas such as resume writing, making phone calls to employers, and interview techniques. Trade Taster: The AITC works with partner organizations to provide the opportunity for young people to sample a range of trades. Work Placements: Our young people engage in a range of work placements to engage them in their industry of choice. These vary in length, give young people real-life experience in the workplace and establish connections that may launch careers. Pre–Employment Training: Before young people engage in a work placement, they engage in a structured training program to learn the necessary skills they need to participate safely and productively in work placements. This training is at a Certificate I or II levels, delivered by a registered training organization. Employability Skills Training: Based upon the Core Skills for Work Framework, this training is embedded within the College's onsite and offsite program to provide the foundation skills young people need to succeed in the workplace. 23. The Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) seeks to serve the veterinary profession and reward excellence. College Membership signifies that a veterinarian has expertise and competence in a nominated subject area. To become a College member, a candidate must have at least four years of post-graduate experience as a veterinarian and have completed both written and oral/practical examinations in one of the diverse range of subjects on offer. College Fellowship is associated with scholarly and technical excellence in a particular subject. Standards required for training and examination in Fellowship subjects meet or exceed the prerequisites for registration as a Veterinary Specialist in Australia and New Zealand. Science Week is a highly successful three-day scientific meeting held at the same venue as the College oral/practical examinations. It is a fantastic opportunity to attend cutting-edge presentations covering a wide range of disciplines and enjoy the collegial atmosphere engendered by College activities. The Chapter is a particular interest group that aims to bring together veterinary graduates who have an active interest in reproduction across all species. The Chapter was relatively new, having formed in 1998. The membership level examination expects knowledge of reproductive processes in all domestic species. Fellowship level examination is available within an individual species. An annual meeting to coincide with the College Science week is planned each year. Presentation of clinical case material, current research, or topical issues at the meeting is encouraged. The meeting provides an opportunity to present and actively discuss all aspects of comparative reproduction. Members of the Chapter usually have an individual species that are of particular interest to them, but discussing reproductive processes across a range of species in a more biological context is very useful to understand the many factors that may influence reproduction. Membership of the Chapter is open to all members of the College that have a fascination with reproduction. The Animal Welfare Chapter has been established to provide a forum for veterinarians' training to detailed knowledge and above-average competence in animal welfare in all species. This capability will be drawn from a broad base of knowledge across all body systems. Course content includes The Ethics of Animal Use, Physiological and Psychological Aspects of Adverse States, Animal Environments, The Veterinary Profession's Role in Animal Welfare, Veterinary Aspects of Animal Welfare, Specific Welfare Issues, Legislation and Animal Welfare and Human-Animal Relationships. Membership in this subject equips veterinarians to understand the scientific basis for optimum animal welfare and to be able to reason and debate the legal and ethical aspects of animal welfare coherently. The Aquatic Animal Health Chapter has been established to promote excellence in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of aquatic animals' diseases, emphasizing those species that are kept for aquaculture or otherwise commercially exploited. The Cattle Chapter is the branch of the College made up of veterinarians who have a particular interest in dairy/ beef cattle medicine and production and ruminant nutrition. The Emergency and Critical Care Chapter will promote excellence in treating sick animals in the Emergent Period and the duration during which a disease remains life-threatening. The Medicine and Management of Laboratory Animals Chapter will promote excellence in medicine, management, care, well-being, and research and teaching of Laboratory Animals. The Chapter comprises a group of veterinarians unified to solve and improve eye problems in animals. It provides a forum for discussion, debate, and further understanding of eye diseases through regular meetings. The Chapter is a voice by which information can be disseminated to interested chapters, veterinarians, and non-veterinarians. The Chapter would seek to provide expertise through its fellows in assisting in the training and examination of fellowship candidates.
