  3. When education is passed from one person to another, their hearts meet. We live in an age when the meaning of university or college must be seriously considered. What do students seek in higher education, and turn what role college can play for students? Japanese universities were once referred to as "leisure land" by the mass media. Once a student secured a seat at a university, graduation was considered automatic. Students studied hard before entering college, but they tended to "play once they were enrolled." A high school curriculum is such that students have classes all day. But in college, class scheduling is more flexible. Some students arrange classes so that most of them are in the afternoon. There is also the long summer break from July to early autumn. This kind of college life allows students to enjoy a great degree of freedom fully. And yet, this freedom may be harmful if it is not used wisely. Fundamentally, the college schedule is arranged to allow students time to prepare for and review their classes during their free time. The long summer break is given for students to read books and engage themselves in some learning experience that is not possible during the regular course of study. No matter how interesting it can be, learning requires a certain amount of time and systematic study that requires perseverance. It is my constant desire to provide an education in which students can learn to enjoy completing course tasks given to them and in which students can learn to have perseverance in reading through a series of books on selected themes. Our faculty members all make great efforts every day to offer students fascinating and inspiring classes that they are attracted by. A college organization's most critical role is not just constructing school buildings, modifying the curriculum, or reorganizing the school system. The primary mission of a college is to nurture people. Yoshida Shoin, one of the most distinguished intellectuals in the middle of the 19th century in Japan, taught the youth in his private school "Shoka Sonjuku," whose building was so miserable and mean. Later, many young people who learned there became productive workers in society and made an outstanding contribution to the Meiji Restoration. The essence of education is that it is passed down from one person to another, creating a harmony of hearts. It may take time, but we make every endeavor to realize this goal. View full university
  4. Our College is a newly registered senior secondary provider near the heart of Melbourne. We are committed to providing a concept in Education that is different from most existing providers in the marketplace. At North Melbourne Grammar College, we aim to develop a school that enables students to explore their preferred pathway while striving to achieve their best. We are new. We are different. We intend to develop a school that prepares its students for the future workplace to find themselves. Our College will provide modern, bright classrooms for class-based learning. We will provide a Learning Centre for collaborative and individualized learning. Areas will exist dedicated to the pathways outlined in our Teaching & Learning programs. To be clear, our goal is to be one of the leading educational providers in Melbourne within a decade. Our goal is to be of the leading educational providers in Melbourne. Our teachers support each student through their learning journey and actively encourage participation (both in and out of class). We strive to maintain an open dialogue between our staff and the students. The Victorian Certificate of Education requires students' many qualities: commitment, hard work, resilience, perseverance, a passion for improving, and positivity. As in life, those cohorts of students who can harness working effectively together to achieve desired goals and outcomes will achieve more. Our goal is to embrace our diversity and recognize, celebrate, and respect every individual's very essence. As a result, at NMGC, we are committed to developing a positive culture of respect in which teamwork is encouraged and fostered. We are committed to providing a positive culture of respect. Each of us is a leader. Whether through word or action, we can inspire and erode the confidence of those around us. Positive role modeling inspires others to follow suit. Negative role modeling can be infectious in schools as it can in any organization. We can choose to be mediocre, or we can choose to challenge our self-doubts, rise above others' influences, and forge a new pathway into the future. We aim to develop a culture of intent. To help students find their inner leader and set the tone of the school. After all – as our motto says – today's learners are tomorrow's leaders. We aim to develop a culture of intent. As a new provider, we will have to wait and let our deeds do the talking. But, if you want something different for your son or daughter, if you want a guaranteed pathway to tertiary studies upon successful completion of the VCE, if you want a learning environment in which learning is taken seriously and which is rich in its diversity, then our College is a place for you. Feel free to contact the College on +61 3 9020 5180 and book a time to see me discuss this further. If you are an Agent for International Students, please contact one of our Business Development Officers on the same number.
  5. North West Christian School has been providing quality Christian education to the northwest community since 1975. It is situated with the Bass Strait’s panoramic views, Penguin township, and rural views back to the Dial Range. The school cultivates and encourages an atmosphere of tolerance and respect for others, including peers, parents, and teachers. There is a recognition of differences and affirmation of individual skills, abilities, and positive personal attributes. Students are encouraged to do their best at all times and to participate in community and charity projects. The future holds many challenges and opportunities. With more parents concerned about our uncertain future, they are looking for an education for their children to equip them mentally, socially, physically, emotionally, and spiritually to deal positively with the challenges ahead. North West Christian School offers parents the values-based education they are looking for. Here at NWCS, the theme of Nurture, Learning, and Character run through our whole program. Our goal is to nurture students as they grow through those impressionable years. We educate the whole person so that they can make a positive contribution to the broader community. Finally, they can develop a character that will carry them through their future life and into Eternity. Education does not just book knowledge. Education equips a person with skills that will benefit them, and others, in adulthood. Education is the development of a Character that has solid values as its base. This will give them a grounding that can weather the storms that may come their way. That’s what we want for our students. All registered schools in Tasmania follow and teach the Australian curriculum and its eight key learning areas. These are English, Mathematics, Science, Health and Physical Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, The Arts, Technologies, and Languages. We are a registered school and follow the Australian curriculum and actively participate in regular audits performed by the Education Department of Tasmania. At NWCS, we appreciate the role of education in building and equipping our students to be successful contributors in their communities and to develop a richer understanding of our world. This is achieved through supporting the key eight learning areas, and allowing students to engage, discover, explain, and extend their learning. Sport is an integral part of our curriculum to develop a variety of skills and personal resilience. Athletics and swimming lessons are run every year, while the senior students are involved in hiking, kayaking, camping, and learning ropes (see extra programs - outdoor recreation). NWCS does not teach the Safe Schools program. In contrast, we have a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of bullying, and students are taught Christian principles of self-worth and respect for others.

The Federal Government funds our school Counsellor through the Department of Education, Employment, and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). We are grateful for the blessing that such funding provides for Mid North Christian College students and families. However, in accepting this funding, we must fulfill several Australian Government’s National School Chaplaincy and Student Welfare Program (NSCSWP). One requirement is that the services provided by the Counsellor remain a voluntary program. Should you wish to discuss the Program delivered by our Counsellor, you are welcome to make an appointment with our Principal and Counsellor. If you do not want your child to participate in the program delivered by our Counsellor, please contact the College. Another requirement of the funding is that the school maintains a Risk Management Plan and a complaints handling process that includes a complaints register. Should a complaint be received regarding the Mid North Christian College Counsellor, then it will be handled by the school’s Grievance Policy and documented on the NSCSWP Complaints, Register. Detailed information about this can be obtained via the office. The Program delivered by the College Counsellor is reviewed annually by the College Board following feedback received from an annual College community survey. We value any College community input members can provide and look forward to receiving all your completed surveys. A copy of the College consultation plan can be accessed by clicking on this link.

  8. Our school is a long-established school offering robust curricula that promotes individualized learning, creativity, and critical thinking. North Broward Preparatory School is part of the Nord Anglia Education family, a growing global community of premium international schools. Please find out about our philosophy and how Nord Anglia guides what we do. We are a Nord Anglia Education school. This means we are part of a family of 56 international schools, boarding schools, and private schools located in 26 countries worldwide. Together, we educate more than 50,000 students between the ages of 2 and 18 years old. All Nord Anglia Education schools are driven by one unifying philosophy: we are ambitious for our students, our people, and our family of schools. We believe there is no limit to what our students can achieve, and our approach supports every child to succeed academically, socially, and personally. We enrich your child's learning experience with opportunities beyond the ordinary. From online debates and challenges, expeditions to Tanzania's savannah, or performing in our Global Orchestra in New York, Nord Anglia's Global Campus connects our students worldwide to learn together every day. Small class size means that our teachers know every child individually and can respond to your child's strengths, adapting our learning model to help them overcome challenges. We nurture essential skills to equip your child to succeed in every aspect of their education. We know the difference that excellent teaching makes to your child's success at school. That is why Nord Anglia has developed a unique approach to teacher recruitment, training, and support that ensures your child learns from the best. Nord Anglia also partners with world-leading organizations to ensure that the curricula and initiatives we offer are second to none. For example, our music curriculum is developed in collaboration with The Juilliard School. Our family's academic results are a testament to this approach, with one in three Nord Anglia Education students going to the world's top 100 universities. Academic success is just the beginning of Nord Anglia schools. We will nurture your child's talents so that they can succeed in every aspect of their education, including sports, arts, languages, or technology. We encourage every student to love learning, to try something new, and, above all, to be ambitious. At our core, NBPS remains true to the qualities that first attracted me as both parent and educator: the significant engagement of students, the enthusiasm of teachers, and the vibrancy of school life. As we enter the 2018-2019 school year, our commitment to students, faculty, and parents revolves around fostering student creativity, innovation, and collaboration. North Broward Preparatory School provides an outstanding educational experience with an emphasis on the development of critical thinking. This is accomplished through personalized instruction designed to address each student's learning style, goals, interests, and strengths. We understand that students need balance - a strong academic program, complemented by excellent fine art and athletic offerings and a commitment to service and leadership. Students are prepared to enter their first-choice college or university and meet the challenges of the complex world they will inherit. Our students and faculty experience unique learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom working in partnership with our Nord Anglia Education family. Students and teachers can learn, collaborate, compete, and play while developing valuable relationships with friends and colleagues worldwide. It is an exciting time to be a member of the North Broward Prep community. As a Nord Anglia Education school, we believe that there is no limit to what every student can achieve. Our personalized learning, coupled with unique global opportunities, challenge each student to learn more and get better every day. We believe there is no limit to what our students can achieve. So we encourage them to be ambitious. To reach for their dreams. To step outside their comfort zones and try something new. We ignite their curiosity. Being ambitious inspires our students. It urges them to stretch themselves that little bit further. To be relentlessly optimistic. To be the best that they can be. And beyond that to make a difference, to make things better, throughout our world. Ambition can take them anywhere. It is transformational. It is what makes the extraordinary possible. But it is only the spark. It takes passion, determination, and commitment to make it a reality. It takes creativity and innovation. It takes resilience and courage. It takes confidence. That is why our outstanding teachers nurture these essential skills through personalized learning for each child. We build on each student's strengths and passions. We create a challenge in every lesson and every activity so that they continuously grow and learn. We offer unique experiences to open new opportunities. Our schools' family empowers our students to achieve beyond what they may have thought possible, academically, socially, and personally.
  9. We believe in educating our children, not merely schooling them. Our school is where thinking, analyzing, imagining, and creating are encouraged, nurtured, and rewarded. We do not want our students to learn merely for the sake of passing a test. We want them to develop intellectual curiosity and the skills with which to satisfy it. We know that learning begins with questions; we teach our students how to make productive inquiries. We are committed to providing the best education we can for all the children we admit. That involves identifying an individual child's optimum learning style and providing those experiences for him or her that will affect maximum intellectual, social, and emotional growth. There is a way to reach every child; we are experts at finding those ways. We know that we need to teach more than academic course content. As Modern Orthodox Jews, our children are expected to strive for success as they live in and engage with the modern world while still being faithful to the religious teachings of our Torah and our sages. So while we give our students the tools to succeed in the secular arena, we make sure they understand the benefits of living their lives as ethical, Torah Jews. We know our students will have to do a balancing act; we are dedicated to showing them how to achieve that balance. We foster in our students an overwhelming commitment to religious Zionism. As a result of numerous programs that involve them in activities in support of Israel, our students reach a level of maturity in their years with us that permits them to go out into the world armed with the skills to face the realities of the world in which they must live. We know our students will face challenges; we equip them to deal with them effectively. This kind of education must be seen as the fundamental right of all students in our school. Classes will be co-educational and will seek to accommodate the needs of many different kinds of students by exposing them to a variety of spiritual and intellectual perspectives. This light will encourage individual students to bring their unique insights and interpretations to the curriculum. The school program's primary purpose will be to enable each student to discover their calling, be it in the classroom texts, the sciences, the arts, or the extracurricular realm. Of course, this will coincide with our commitment to give students the tools and the drive to succeed on the highest academic levels after they graduate. Yet it will serve an even greater responsibility: nurturing every student's creativity and self-esteem in the area that best suits him or her during these most formative years. All knowledge, be it religious or secular, stems from the Creator of the universe. A commitment will similarly drive the North Shore Hebrew Academy High School to academic excellence in General Studies. Through first-rate training in the analytic and quantitative reasoning that underlies such fields as chemistry and physics, students will not only hone their skills and overall scholastic aptitudes. However, they will gain a direct appreciation for the philosopher Pythagoras, who liked to call "harmony of the spheres." Equal emphasis will be placed upon the more significant works of our classical heritage, from Euclid's foundational rigor to the lyrical expressiveness of Shakespeare. The learning of necessary skills will be combined with a sophisticated understanding of literature and Western thought. Thus enriched, our students will meet the admissions criteria and standards of the most selective institutions of higher learning. Yet, far more critical, they will graduate with a highly developed and deeply thoughtful approach to the world around them. A superior academic program is critical to a school's success, but so are the values it imparts. If there is one value above all else that we hope to instill in our students, it is chesed, committed to acts of righteousness, kindness, and generosity. Schools and communities do not exist in an educational vacuum: these students enter the world with an obligation toward those around them that stems directly from their Jewish heritage. This begins with their daily activities, especially, bein adam le' chaveiro, from one human being to another, and extends to an overall responsibility toward the needy and the less fortunate. We must uphold these values in educating our children and to ensure that they grow into adults who will do the same.

  12. North Country School strives to create a community that gives children the self-confidence, knowledge, skills, and values to lead satisfying and productive lives while contributing to their world. We believe that children become confident and resourceful individuals when they try new experiences and cultivate their skills toward mastery, with caring adults' guidance. We believe that teaching and learning are most successful when intellectual activity is linked with practical experience. We are committed to simple and sustainable living, making responsible choices about our use of resources. We are committed to sustaining a diverse and nurturing community that supports individual growth and creativity, develops resilience, and promotes social responsibility. Creativity in children is both an innate and a teachable skill. Recognizing that creative thinking is as essential as critical thinking, we nurture creativity in our extensive arts offerings and school life areas. When students learn to be creative in their approach, ingenious science experiments, inspired literary analysis, individual writing voice, and imaginative multi-media presentations result. Recognizing that children are inquisitive by nature and natural problem solvers, we provide hands-on and collaborative lessons that help students make the real world and personal connections. Our students engage with one another, their teachers, and the activities at hand. They learn to ask and answer their questions and develop the skills that help them do so along the way. In the High Peaks region of the Adirondack Park, our campus allows children to learn and explore in a pristine wilderness setting. Our science classes often hold hands-on labs outdoors. English and art classes climb mountains to paint landscapes and write poetry. NCS students hike, camp, ride horses, and ski on our 200 acres and miles of trails. Our students develop a deep appreciation for the outdoors and learn the value of preserving wild places. North Country School is located in the heart of the six-million-acre Adirondack Park, of which two million acres is forest preserve. Our 220-acre campus includes extensive vegetable and flower gardens, a working farm, a maple sugaring operation, a six-trail ski hill, a thirty-six-route rock climbing crag, two riding rings, and over 3 miles of recreational trails. North Country School has long practiced place-based education, taking full advantage of its campus, the High Peaks region, and the cultural and recreational opportunities offered in nearby Lake Placid. North Country School was founded in 1938 by Walter and Leonora Clark. Leonora Clark's sister and brother in law, Helen and Douglas Haskell, had assumed leadership of Camp Treetops in Lake Placid in 1926. Both couples' educational philosophies were influenced by John Dewey and the Progressive Education Movement. They believed that close, nurturing contact, and first-hand experiences were essential for children to develop confidence, knowledge, skills, and values. The two families enjoyed a close educational collaboration in overseeing Camp Treetops and North Country School.

  14. Since we opened our doors in 1919, North Shore Country Day has been committed to educating the "whole child." Our school has all the benefits of a small school, where each child is known, immersed in learning, and mentored by all in the North Shore community. Students learn and grow together as they explore a challenging curriculum taught by exceptional teachers in an environment that encourages collaboration and creative thinking. We help students enhance their academic experience with participation in the arts and athletics, learning more about themselves and others in the process. North Shore students emerge prepared intellectually and socially to lead "lives marked by integrity, kindness, respect, and fulfillment." We embrace the value of being a small school because it builds an atmosphere of respect, accountability, and mentoring between students and teachers and provides resources and learning opportunities that empower students to be architects of their education. We take pride in our immersive, intensive curriculum that inspires curiosity and develops the critical-thinking, problem-solving, writing, and communication skills that serve our students well in their education and life. We believe education should be personal — where teachers know each student, challenge each at a high level, and where students connect intellectually and individually with teachers, advisors, college counselors, coaches, and peers, both in and outside the classroom. We know engagement is essential to learning and leadership, so we require students to participate in everything from theater, sports, and art to technology, music, and service-learning, connecting with local and global community partners to expand their views and understandings of others and themselves. We prepare students with a challenging education that requires them to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage fully in their intellectual growth and personal development. In doing so, they become self-confident, ethical citizens of the world who embody our motto, "Live and Serve." Through a range of experiences in and out of the classroom, students are immersed in science, mathematics, humanities, language, and the arts. Our broad and ever-evolving curriculum challenges and engages students to strive for personal growth and academic excellence. We believe in the importance of developing individuals who are resilient, creative, confident, and who persevere. We teach students to be self-advocates and expect them to own their education and actions, preparing them for lives marked by integrity, kindness, respect, and fulfillment. Our students are known and celebrated as individuals. Connections are formed with teachers that endure beyond graduation. Multi-age relationships emerge from our JK-12 campus to foster a strong sense of community. We leverage knowing every student with our active network of faculty, parents, and alumni to help students reach their goals and aspirations. We embrace diversity and global literacy to build acceptance, strengthen compassion, instill social responsibility, and expand competencies that enable students to succeed in a multicultural world. Students are enriched by the inclusion of individuals with varied talents, voices, and backgrounds. Realizing that students discover and develop their talents and passions through action, we require full participation in arts, athletics, and service. Engagement in multiple disciplines expands our students' understanding, commitment, teamwork, and potential. Although people make up the core of our educational experience, we recognize the campus environment and resources' value and importance. Our thoughtfully designed classrooms, course materials, outdoor spaces, and campus facilities provide the resources necessary to maximize learning. At North Shore, "Live and Serve" is more than just a motto – it's something our students embrace in their learning and embody through their actions. Our service program seeks to foster student ownership and leadership. In classes, teachers implement service-learning, which links classroom learning and service activities to empower students as ethical citizens. Other projects are student-driven, taking place outside the classroom through student government, clubs, or other activities. We endeavor to build strong, reciprocal relationships with our service partners. Students are encouraged to see service as a lifelong endeavor and become the "self-confident, ethical citizens of the world" described in our mission. At North Shore Country Day School, we believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential to fulfilling our mission, the achievement of educational excellence, and the creation of a better world. We are committed to building a diverse community in terms of race, gender, age, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, and economic background. Diversity, though, is about more than just numbers. Therefore, we also strive to create an inclusive community where all people are treated with respect and dignity. Multiple perspectives and experiences are welcome, and where students from all cultures and backgrounds can succeed. North Shore Country Day engages its community members in developing cultural competencies that allow us to communicate and interact effectively across cultures. Both inside and outside of the classroom, learning from and coming to understand differences and commonalities enrich us and empower us with skills for living in a diverse, twentyfirstcentury world. Grappling with the complex issues of this world enables us to explore the roles, rights, and responsibilities of citizens in a democratic society and examine a range of ways to develop a more just and equitable society. We invite all members of the community to join us in this continuous learning journey.

The crisis could be a relational issue, eating disorder, separation anxiety, panic attacks, grief, or another temporary discomfort. Our counselors work caringly and confidentially to help students develop goals and habits consistent with Christian growth and ideals. The counseling department seeks to encourage and facilitate personal and interpersonal growth and healing by providing Christ-centered, clinically appropriate individual and group counseling for students, staff, and faculty. The goal is to help these individuals become whole emotionally, relationally, spiritually, psychologically, physically, and academically. The North Greenville University Office of Career Planning is dedicated to assisting students in meeting their education and career goals. Career Planning also supports current students and alumni in their job searches. Résumé workshops, etiquette dinners, professional seminars, and job fairs are a few of the students' resources. Also, students receive support as they navigate through the graduate school application process. The Director of Career Planning functions as the advisor for the Student Government Association. At North Greenville University, student aid is generally awarded based on financial need. Defined, financial need is the difference between the student's cost of education (tuition, fees, room-board, and books) and how the student and family are expected to contribute toward meeting those costs. To determine eligibility for financial aid, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required. Financial aid forms are available at the university financial aid offices and high school counseling offices. Love is actionable and demonstrated by what we do for others. Understanding this principle, North Greenville University faculty and staff actively seek to build meaningful and lasting relationships with students, guiding them to understand their purpose and place in God's Kingdom and demonstrating God's active role in their lives. This initiative enables the principle of love by allowing us time to focus on students to see them as potential rather than a collection of documents, to seek their welfare in addition to financial aid, to teach discernment and wisdom as well as knowledge, and to come alongside them as they seek their place in God's Kingdom. Technology must support the university's plan for delivering services to the student supporting university needs, inclusive of what is yet to be imagined. The software search and implementation focused on those goals by seeking modular, flexible, and extensible software.
  23. From our roots as an 1890 land-grant university, we have expanded and adapted to become a school fit for the 21st century and beyond. N.C. A&T still has award-winning faculty, intensive research programs, and community-focused initiatives — but now our campus is more diverse. Our curriculum includes nanoengineering, and our idea of public service encompasses not only Greensboro but the world. We believe in our students' power to solve problems, both local and global, through technology, business, engineering, the arts, and other endeavors. Through exemplary instruction and interdisciplinary studies, we believe that through scholarly and creative research, and courage and community service, N.C. A&T prepares students to enhance the quality of life for themselves, the citizens of North Carolina, the nation, and the world.
  24. On May 14, 1956, the North Carolina Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church met in Goldsboro. It approved a petition from the people of Rocky Mount to locate a college in their community. In early September, the first trustees established temporary headquarters in the Ricks Hotel. One of the first actions of the Board was to name the institution North Carolina Wesleyan College. The State of North Carolina officially chartered the College on October 25, 1956. Capital investments totaling approximately $2 million made possible the construction of the main buildings on the 200-acre site donated by the M.C. Braswell heirs of Rocky Mount. Four years later, 92 students enrolled in the first class at North Carolina Wesleyan College. In 1964, 33 students received their degrees at the College’s first Commencement. Since those early days, nearly 9,000 students have earned bachelor’s degrees in the arts and sciences. Alumni from Rocky Mount, neighboring communities, numerous states, and several foreign countries affirm Wesleyan’s value as an essential resource for higher education in Eastern North Carolina.
  25. North Georgia College & State University offers a high-quality college experience in a beautiful mountain setting, about an hour north of Atlanta. With more than 6,000 students, North Georgia is large enough to provide a wide array of opportunities and activities, but small enough to ensure personal attention from professors and to foster friendships among students. Located in Dahlonega, Ga., a small historic town in the Blue Ridge Mountains, North Georgia is a coeducational public university emphasizing strong liberal arts and pre-professional, professional, and graduate programs. The university offers more than 50 majors to prepare students for nearly any career. The state’s second-oldest university and the first to admit women, North Georgia, offer exceptional educational value, but it also offers values education. North Georgia’s faculty and staff are dedicated to the education and traditional values that help students excel in whatever career they choose. North Georgia is distinctive among its peer institutions in that it is one of only six senior military colleges in the United States. The Army ROTC Corps of Cadets comprises about 13 percent of the student population in North Georgia. Because of this distinction, North Georgia has been designated by the state legislature as The Military College of Georgia. Specializing in leadership training and developing civilian and military leaders since 1873, the state’s Board of Regents has designated North Georgia as a Georgia Leadership Institution.
