About Me

  1. We hope that this virtual tour of Villa Victoria Academy gives you a sense of the great work that is going on at our Academy. Villa Victoria Academy was established in 1933 by the Religious Teachers Filippini in Ewing, New Jersey, at the Scudder Falls Bridge. Villa Victoria Academy, one of the oldest Catholic all-girls school in New Jersey, graduated its 80th graduating class on June 4, 2017. Here at Villa Victoria, we say that our graduates are spiritual, generous, intellectual, creative, leadership-oriented, and optimistic. Over a thousand girls are a testament to this, making a difference in their chosen careers and homes. Small classes and individualized attention allow Villa girls to reach their full potential both at Villa and after graduation. The Villa Class of 2017, although only 13 students are healthy, earned a combined total of over 3 million dollars in college scholarships. The graduates were accepted at various prestigious colleges and universities, including New York University, George Washington University, Drexel University, Boston University, Rutgers University, and Fordham University. The mission of Villa Victoria Academy, consistent with the vision of the Religious Teachers Filippini, is to educate students to a global view, uphold each individual's dignity, and empower students to influence the world in a truly Christian manner. We Believe: Life is a gift from God and should be safeguarded. Every person, created in the image and likeness of God, possesses an inherent worth and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. Every person can learn and reach her potential. Children are our community's most valuable asset and have a right to safety, love, and learning. Education is a shared responsibility of the school community, consisting of the administration, faculty, parents, and students. The academic and spiritual formation of girls is vital to the human family. Effective education develops the whole person – spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically. Villa Victoria Academy is set on forty-four beautiful acres along the Delaware River in Ewing, New Jersey. Founded in 1933 by the Religious Teachers Filippini, Villa Victoria's mission reflects the philosophy of St. Lucy Filippini, whose vision inspires generations of young women to become healthy, knowledgeable, compassionate leaders. Our alumnae are academically competitive, culturally aware, and well-prepared to influence the world. Here, girls' individuality flourishes in a supportive and challenging environment. Villa Victoria Academy helps to develop each student's inner abilities of critical thinking, creativity, self-esteem, and compassion. This is done through small class sizes, our emphasis on a well-rounded education, and many leadership opportunities for our students. Our program prepares students to meet the challenges and opportunities they will face in the future. Villa Victoria Academy's curriculum allows her students to explore all their talents and interests. A variety of honors and advanced placement courses are offered in both Science and the Humanities to balance each student's education. For this reason, graduates of Villa Victoria make confident, informed decisions when pursuing a course of study in college. At Villa Victoria Academy, young women are encouraged to explore their capabilities. They are the leaders. They are the scholars. Our students are given the encouragement and the opportunities to reach inside themselves to discover talents that they never knew existed. Our "Villa Girls" represent a diverse mix of young women from around the region at Villa Victoria Academy. They can be found kicking a soccer goal, presenting a project using the Science of robotics, singing a solo in the school musical, leading fellow students in prayer at school liturgical services, or organizing a school-wide effort to supply coats for the homeless. Each student is given opportunities to develop her leadership, teamwork, self-discipline, and creative skills. The student life of a "Villa Girl" is filled with various cultural, social, and personal growth opportunities. Students are empowered to develop their interests and make a positive contribution to the local and global community. The co-curricular program at Villa Victoria Academy is designed to complement our academic curriculum by enhancing world experiences, developing leadership skills, and fostering students' God-given talents while interacting with their peers and adult mentors. Our students can choose from a variety of clubs, academic competitions, and social events. View full school
  2. At Darul Ulum College, we aim to provide students with balanced academic, religious, social, and emotional and academic growth through various delivery modes, including a balance of traditional & discursive practices. We also emphasize hands-on experiences to facilitate stronger connections in learning. Our primary assessment practice involves a unique number grading system that enables systematic and early identification of students at risk and high achievers and their individual termly ongoing growth. At-risk students are offered our intervention programs whereby they are retaught content they struggled to absorb and comprehend in their learning. Opportunities are also provided to extend capable students. Social and academic achievements are acknowledged during the year through a school-based rewarding scheme. Providing education through the contemporary curriculum in a safe school environment incorporates the development of religious and ethical consciousness in students. Establishing a faithful learning community embraces religious and Australian values of freedom of speech and religion openness and tolerance to difference and diversity, and the equality of civil rights through excellence in teaching and learning. Integrating academic and personal skills with principles inspired by the Quran, Sunnah, and Australian values can empower students to make positive contributions to the broader community. Promoting intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development through programs that cater to a broad range of abilities and interests in a safe school environment for all children, including students of culturally and linguistically diverse communities and students with disabilities. 4. The U3A movement is a unique and exciting organization that provides, through its U3As, life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities. Retired and semi-retired people come together and learn together, not for qualifications but for its reward: the sheer joy of discovery! Members share their skills and life experiences: the learners teach, and the teachers learn, and there is no distinction between them. The U3A movement is a volunteer organization providing educational, creative, and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment for the community's retired and semi-retired members. U3A Network Victoria is the peak body for 100+ Member U3As representing around 37,000 members. U3A Network Victoria is operated by its elected volunteer Committee, several subcommittees, workgroups, and paid officers. A quarterly meeting is held with a Council of Delegates, representing each Member U3A. Network representatives may be contacted through the Network Office. Victoria's 100+ U3As are grouped in geographical regions to facilitate communication and strengthen U3As by sharing local information about marketing, tutors, administrative procedures, potential partners, and many other matters. The aims of the Region's structure within Victoria include providing a communications channel for regions to give information and influence U3A Network. This also provides support when approaching Local Government Areas. Most Regions meet twice yearly at an agreed venue within the Region. Often these meetings will include a workshop on an area of interest or need. The Regions movement is supported and guided by the Network Development and Support Officer. A Regional Representative is elected by the group to attend the Region's meeting attached to Network Council meetings held four times a year. View full university

  6. Theological education and discipleship are not different things. In reality, theological education is concentrated on discipleship. This discipleship aims to help another believer conform to the image of Christ and to influence those whom God has called to leadership within the local church. We believe that the college is an excellent place for the local church and the college to train effective workers for the local church and full-time ministry. By balancing sound doctrinal teaching with practical methodology, we believe that the students and graduates of VBBC will enhance the ministry of any local church in which they serve. Our lecturers are experienced in local church ministry and bring to the classroom a wealth of knowledge drawn from practical Christian living. Our study courses have been developed to challenge and encourage our students to achieve academic excellence while they find numerous outlets for practical application. Victoria Baptist Bible College strives to meet the need for trained men and women who can minister effectively in their local church. Because of a need to train effective workers both for the full-time Christian ministry and local church ministries, classes began on 12 February 1973 under the auspices of Baptist Mid-Missions. Since that time, Victoria Baptist Bible College has been committed to strengthening the local church. We desire to see many of our graduates serve within the local church as pastors, teachers, deacons, and a variety of other Christian ministries. VBBC also wishes to prepare men and women for service on the foreign field as missionaries sent out by their local church. Victoria Baptist Bible College invites you to come and train to serve the Lord. How many lives do we have? While a cat is sometimes said to have nine, we have only one life to live, and that life should be lived for God. If we focus only on the here and now, we profit nothing because it will all pass away. We must live for eternal values. Our goal at VBBC is to equip men and women to serve in the local church. We want to see God's servants effectively proclaiming the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ to their community and the world. View full university

  9. We are a new academy, and the second school to open under the Mossbourne name. The flagship school, in Central Hackney, has become synonymous with educational excellence – achieved through outstanding teaching, a culture of ‘no excuses, and high expectations of students and staff. At Mossbourne Victoria Park, we will continue and build on that ethos to provide an inspiring and rewarding education for all our students. Secondary school students are at a time of their lives when they benefit greatly from clear values and consistent guidance. It is a challenge for schools everywhere to provide this stability in a changing educational, social and economic landscape. At Mossbourne, our values are deeply rooted in a belief that all students can succeed. We define that success as their ability, upon completing their formal education, to join society as informed, curious and independent participants. Our students must leave with first-rate qualifications, as these will open doors to future opportunities and careers. Equally important, however, is that our students are confident, are interested in the world, and able to think for themselves. To achieve this, learning, rather than teaching, is at the heart of everything we do. Our school day is structured to include time for students to sit and work independently, to consolidate and extend what they have learned, as well as to prepare for upcoming lessons. Our staff are subject experts and focus on how to ensure all students are supported and challenged. Indeed, staff training is a sustained and meaningful part of school life. Finally, we will never tolerate any behavior that disrupts the learning of our students. All applications to Mossbourne Victoria Park Academy must be made through the Learning Trust. In year 7 this process begins with parents filling out the Common Application Form which is available online or through your child’s primary school in September / October of year 6. Our students study a curriculum that is broad and balanced. The main focus is a mastery in the core areas of English, Maths, and Science, in which students will spend over half of lesson time. This curriculum allows a balance between academic, creative, and practical subjects and ensures that students develop a range of knowledge and skills. Students will also participate in two Guided Reading sessions each week. Students are grouped by reading age and read, discuss and review literature that will challenge and inspire them. These sessions are led by a member of staff but the onus is very much on the students to develop their oracy through public reading and debate/discussion. In the Enrichment Programme, students join clubs and societies to broaden their horizons and extend their skills and areas of interest. From Debating, Chess, Origami, Badminton, Film Club, Biological Drawing, Music Appreciation, and many more, students can choose from a wide and exciting range of Enrichment activities. As a parent or carer, you play a key role in helping your child to stay safe online, here you will find tips, advice, guides, and resources to help keep your child safe online. You don’t need to be an expert on the internet to help keep your child stay safe online. We recognize that all staff, including volunteers, have a full and active part to play in protecting our children and young people from harm. At Mossbourne Victoria Park Academy, we aim to ensure that all students achieve their full potential, both academically and socially. We are committed to meeting the needs of students with special educational needs and aim to ensure that all students have access to a broad, balanced, and relevant curriculum as possible, including activities outside of the classroom. Following the Revised Code of Practice 2014, we recognize that children have special educational needs if they have a “learning difficulty which calls for special educational provision” to be made for them. The Academy’s SEND Inclusion Policy sets out the school’s aims, principles, and strategies for the identification and support of these students. All appeals are managed by the Hackney Learning Trust. If you have not been offered a place at Mossbourne Victoria Park Academy (MVPA), the law entitles you to appeal against that decision to an Independent Appeal Panel. This panel is completely independent of both the school and the Local Authority. The appeals are held in Hackney. should include any evidence or supporting material with your appeal form and you must give them grounds for your appeal at the time you lodge your appeal form. Your appeal form will not be accepted unless you state the grounds for your appeal. You may appeal for more than one school.

  14. Being a School of Excellence is more than a league table rating. It is more than having students rank in the top 10% of the state or nation. A School of Excellence is one where every child achieves at or beyond their ability. Longitudinal studies have shown that students in Seventh-day Adventist Schools significantly improve. They are learning the longer they are enrolled, beginning with a small improvement beyond their expected ability and, over time, building into significant improvement. Victoria Park Christian School focuses on school improvement through the QASF and the provision of learning programs to meet student's individual needs that enable us to help build this culture of improvement and be a School of Excellence.
  15. Victoria Primary has served the village of Newhaven since 1844. It is the oldest working school in Edinburgh. It plays an important part in the life of the community and we are proud of our history and heritage. We have log books and registers in the school dating back to the 1870s and a display of old-school artifacts. The Wee Museum houses exhibit on Newhaven and the local area. It is the oldest still-functioning primary school in Edinburgh and we are very proud of our history and heritage. We serve the village of Newhaven and the surrounding area and there is a mixture of privately owned houses, rented accommodation, and council properties. The school is a feeder primary for Trinity Academy. We are very proud that Victoria Primary is the oldest school that is still operational. The main school building is three stories high. On the ground floor is the Gym Hall, the Dining Hall, Non-Fiction Library, Head Teacher’s Office, and School Office. There are four classrooms on the first floor, around our balcony, which belong to P3, P3/4, P4, and Support for Learning as well as our ICT suite. P5, P6, and P7 can be found on the second floor. Around our stairwells, we have our sensory 'Bubble Room', the Fiction Library, the Depute Head Teacher's Office, Business Manager's Office, and the Staff Room. The Anchor Building opened in August 2014 and is located in the playground. Primary 2 can also be found in the Anchor Building. Opening up from these areas are our ‘Outdoor Classrooms’ where pupils can take their learning outdoors. The school premises are used by Community groups on most evenings. Activities include Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Community choir. We are currently in the process of redeveloping our School grounds. Our playground holds an exciting mix of open play-space, a football pitch, a quiet zone, and an ‘urban meadow’ (a green space of wild grasses and flowers to encourage wildlife and grow flowers and vegetables). This redevelopment is ongoing and is happening with the help of our local community. Our school follows a Curriculum for Excellence, offering a broad general education, including well-planned experiences and outcomes across the curriculum. Our main aim is to encourage our pupils to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens, and effective contributors. Only water is permitted to drink in class however, you will have the opportunity to purchase milk at the start of the year which is provided each day. We would also ask you to provide a healthy snack for your child at playtime. We encourage children to bring ’a snack without a pack’ to cut down on our litter too. Children will be allowed the occasional treat in school when baking or at parties. As well as this focus on healthy eating and physical health through our commitment to 2 hours of PE per week, we aim to provide our pupils with the skills to keep good mental health also. Each term, all classes will have a key Health and Well-being skill which they will develop. This will be achieved through classwork and school-wide assembly projects. During your child’s journey through school, they will participate in lessons about sensitive aspects of learning, e.g. relationships, sexual health, parenthood, drugs awareness, etc. Class teachers will inform parents before these lessons take place.

  21. Welcome to Victoria (Harbour Green) Kindergarten. We are one of the two Victoria Kindergartens located on the Kowloon side, and welcome 430 enthusiastic students each day. Harbour Green campus runs trilingual programmes for 2 to 6 years olds from Pre-Nursery to K3, and proudly offers the IB Primary Years Programme and the Columbia University Teachers College Reading and Writing Project (TCRWP). We also offer cross-curricula enrichment activities in the areas of music, art, and sports in order to foster balanced development in our children. Large, open-space learning areas are a signature feature of a 21st century school environment. At Victoria Harbour Green, we have six different sections in our large open play area allowing for the development of literacy, mathematics, role-play, sensory, arts, and science. Each section of this play area is updated throughout the year and linked to the ‘Units of Inquiry’ students are investigating. Through innovative learning experiences, we are able to extend students learning from each individual classroom to the common play area so that they can make connections from the individual to the whole community learning level. Our library provides a relaxed and safe environment that offers repeated exposure to positive interactions. In this space students have access to a wide variety of books, and are exposed to diverse story times and lessons taught by our experienced librarian. All of these experiences have a significant impact on brain development, foster students’ curiosity to inquire, and help to develop vital early literacy and mathematical skills. Most importantly, our library provides an opportunity for students to develop a love of books and reading. The collection of books in our library is organised in connection with the six transdisciplinary themes, and the ten learner profile attributes of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. As thoughtful educators who are committed to continuous improvement, we reflect annually on our curriculum and the way we teach it. Our well-trained teachers are able to deliver the most up-to-date cutting edge trilingual programme by applying their knowledge gained from participating in worldwide professional development workshops. Best practice of 21st century teaching and learning involves certain strategic, timeless elements. Flexibility is one of the key elements when delivering a programme which promotes skill driven, concept based and play based learning. We know that using technology with our students is also one of the keys in unlocking 21st century global skill sets. Hence, all our classrooms, including our library, are equipped with an Interactive Whiteboard and a visualiser which are used to enhance learning. All of our teaching staff are enthusiastic, energetic, qualified, native English, Putonghua and Cantonese speaking Early Childhood Educators who are committed to working in a dynamic environment. Location is not simply a matter of providing safe and enjoyable learning experiences for children. More importantly, parents appreciate the accessibility of our school. Victoria Harbour Green is conveniently located in one of Hong Kong’s developing areas - West Kowloon. Our school is easily accessible by the MTR which is just 5 minutes walking distance away from the Olympic Station. Every day we have over 400 eager students coming into our school which is located in the Southern District of Hong Kong Island. Our campus offers a Trilingual program for 2 to 6-year-olds from Pre-Nursery to Upper Class (K3), and a Bilingual program starting from 3 to 6 years old from Nursery Class (K1) to Upper Class (K3). We provide an inquiry and literacy-based curriculum our teachers have trained annually in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) and the Columbia University Teacher's College Reading and Writing Project (TCRWP). As you walk down the steps to our kindergarten, you will likely be welcomed by ships sailing by. The beautiful sea view is a warm and inviting environment for the children to come to school every day. From many of the different classroom windows, you can see the clear blue sea and boats passing by. There are times when you can even hear the honking of the horns from the ships. Being surrounded by nature and gardens offers the children a breath of fresh air from the hustle and bustle of the city. From the moment that you walk into the lobby of our campus, you will see two corridors that lead the kindergarten into different engaging learning areas intended to promote creativity and curiosity. When you look into our classrooms, you will see an aesthetically pleasing environment that encourages the children to explore various learning centers related to their current units of inquiry. The large learning areas allow the children to move around with ease, engage in interactive lessons, and also allow enough space for quiet activities, small group activities, and individualized learning. Not only are the children able to learn from the internal school community, but they are also able to learn from the close-knit extended community of South Horizons. Our neighborhood allows the children to have real-life experiences that build on the classroom learning and improve the students' essential literacy, research, and problem-solving skills. There are many opportunities for parents to join in on class activities and field trips to promote collaboration between home and school, as many of our students and their families also live in South Horizons. We believe that our learning community not only consists of the school but also the home community in providing a first-class education for everyone. Located conveniently in the Southern District, there is an abundance of transportation to choose from that gets you to our campus. There are many buses to and from Central, Causeway Bay, and even Pok Fu Lam. With the new South Island Line of the MTR, it is even quicker to get to South Horizons from Admiralty. Whether you take the bus or train, when you cross over the Ap Lei Chau Bridge, you will get a glimpse of the incredible view that is on the South Island. We strive to deliver a balanced curriculum with hands-on, inquiry-based learning. Our campus has been an authorized IB World School since April 2015, and we have been a partner school of Columbia University’s Teacher’s College Reading and Writing Project since September the same year. These programs allow the children to be inquirers and take ownership of their learning, as well as develop their thinking skills to apply strategies that will build their confidence as learners.
  24. Welcome to Causeway Bay Victoria Kindergarten & International Nursery. Our Mission: To develop a community of international, curious, and lifelong learners who help to build a better world through open-mindedness, understanding, trust, and respect. We accomplish this through a diverse and energetic curriculum delivered by enthusiastic and professional staff in partnership with children and parents, in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment. Our program allows children to enjoy learning and to reach their optimal potential – academically, socially, and personally, giving them the skills and attitudes to be confident and responsible in an evolving world. Everyone knows that children are full of potential however, only those who offer quality education can promise to bring out the best in children. At Causeway Bay Victoria, we combine rich experiences in education and classic developmental theories with the newest scientific discoveries around the world, to provide the best education and the most pleasant learning environment possible for our next generation. Most members of our excellent international teaching team have already obtained their bachelor’s or master’s degrees. Through inquiry-based learning, we promote international-mindedness and cultural awareness with a strong bilingual foundation. We have adopted the International Baccalaureate® (IB) curriculum since 2006 and became an authorized IB World School in 2012. To further strengthen students’ interest in reading and writing and build a solid language foundation, starting from 2013, we have worked with Teachers College of Columbia University to design and implement the “Reading and Writing Project”. We actively encourage parents’ involvement in children’s development and education and often invite locally and world-renowned experts to give parent seminars, as well as organize exchange visits to Mainland and overseas sister schools. No matter where they choose to continue on their education, whether at Victoria Shanghai Academy, the “through-train” school that I founded, or at other primary schools, our graduates are ready achievers, always love to learn, and are good at expressing themselves. We will continue to seek collaborative opportunities with higher institutions and overseas schools and bring the newest and the most effective pedagogy to Victoria. At the same time, we will strengthen the kindergarten to primary school transition. Under the leadership of Ms. Ting, Principal Sabrina Lee and I will inherit the spirit of our mothers and march forward. Causeway Bay Victoria Kindergarten and International Nursery aim to have our children actively engage in different learning activities, who can socialize confidently in groups, and have parents who will support their children to grow to their full potential in becoming responsible global citizen who evolves in a child-centered learning community that combines international perspectives and Chinese heritage. As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, we offer the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). This program forms the basis of a rigorous education through a well-developed curriculum that fosters academic excellence and personal growth. The Bilingual/Trilingual learning environment is provided to stimulate and promote international-mindedness as well as cultural awareness among local students and students from diverse backgrounds. Most parents prefer to keep their children's multi-language learning strong, and many want to continue with an IB education. Victoria Shanghai Academy (VSA) is a popular choice, and our students are given a preferential opportunity for admission. The school’s curriculum is based on the IB Primary Years Programme(PYP), which is a pillar of inquiry-based learning. The IB model is student-led: the teachers play the role of facilitators, helping the children to construct knowledge. Through this process, the children continually ask questions, and then collect, analyze, organize, and report on the information they have found.
