- ENVT was founded in 1828. It is one of the oldest Grandes Ecoles of Toulouse. Since its creation, it has continually played a significant role in society by training one third (and later one fourth) of French veterinarians. It prides itself on counting among its past students some of the profession's great names: clinicians, researchers, lecturers, industrialists, and policy-makers. A veterinarian is a high-rank biologist trained in small and large animal medicine and surgery, whether the animals are bred and raised as companion animals or for sports, recreational, or farming purposes. Veterinarians play a significant role in animal farming hence in land planning, as farmers are not only food providers but also land managers. They also ensure public health as human health is linked with animal health, environment, and by-products. Through its clinical activities, ENVT is open to its urban environment and rural Greater South-west France. Through its research activities in partnership with research institutes such as INRA and INSERM or teams from Toulouse University, ENVT has acquired a long-lasting international reputation. Training general practitioners whose economic role is essential in the region has developed strong ties with local economic and human territories. The school is involved in around 50 exchange programs. It thus has a tremendous international dimension and offers its students, lecturers, and researchers numerous opportunities abroad. It is now a member of Université Fédérale de Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées (UFTMP). At the national level, it is a member of the French Agronomic, Veterinary, and Forest Institute alongside other establishments for agronomic and veterinary higher education and research. Besides its academic achievements, the school is an exceptional 53-hectare tree-filled site just a couple of miles away from the city center. It is delimited on its northern boundaries by a Green Belt (an unspoiled walkway along with the Touch, a tributary of the Garonne river); it also hosts an equestrian center, thus making it possible for students to enjoy getaways between wooded areas and the Garonne river banks, at walking or horse-riding distance. The school's commitment to sustainable development has been awarded at local, national, and even international levels. It has made it a wonderful place to live, work, and study in. It is well-equipped with sports facilities, and its Students' Union is incredibly dynamic. ENVT offers various extra-curricular activities and takes part in numerous humanitarian or sports events, among which the 4L Trophy rally, the Spi Dauphine regatta, the Garona Cup rowing competition, the National University Rowing championship, Beauvais' International University Rugby tournament, the Inter-Health Rugby Sevens tournament, etc. The school's library was created in 1828. Ever since, it has conserved a collection of works specialized in veterinary and agro-food sciences, some of which dating back from the 16th century. Although meant for professionals, the library is open to the public. The collection comprises around 34,000 documents (26,800 veterinary theses, among which 16,900 are listed in the Archipel catalog, 5,000 recent books, and around 2,900 books published between the 16th and the 19th centuries). At ENVT, we firmly believe that excellence in teaching and research can only be achieved with an international dimension. We offer an excellent opportunity for our students to complement their academic and practical knowledge in veterinary science and discover new cultures and languages. All our students have experience abroad at least once in their studies; they can choose to do internships abroad or participate in one of our different exchange programs. Studying at ENVT is a great way to experience the French lifestyle, explore the country, and make new friends, all while attending lessons and gaining academic credits toward your degree. Toulouse, the southwestern city, which hosts 40,000 students, is awash with culture, art, industry, and architecture. It is ranked among the best student cities in France. At ENVT, we firmly believe that excellence in teaching and research can only be achieved with an international dimension. We offer an excellent opportunity for our students to complement their academic and practical knowledge in veterinary science and discover new cultures and languages.

- Nippon Veterinary and Life Science University were founded in 1881 by nine veterinarians. It set up its operations in Otowa, in Tokyo's Bunkyo Ward, in the corner of the Denzuin, a branch of the Gokokuji Temple. Since then, 135 years later, we have a reputation for being the best institute for education in Life Science and other related disciplines. Our educational philosophy is "to develop high-quality veterinarians, specialists, and researchers who have a heart full of love and a dedication to science." Our educational approach is encapsulated in the phrase "Respect and Mutual Harmony." In other words, we develop our students to be individuals who are rich in humanity, overflowing with creativity and practical ability and filled with a sense of modesty, cooperation, kindness, and humaneness. Accordingly, our University comprises two faculties and four schools in total. Further, our Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine and Life Science has one postgraduate course with three central subjects-a Doctoral Course in Veterinary Medicine, a Doctoral and Master's Course in Veterinary Nursing and Technology, and a Doctoral and Master's Course in Applied Life Science. With an approximate capacity of 200 staff and 1,700 students, we are a small teaching institution, but we take great pride in our long history and traditions as a school. As a veterinary institute in today's advanced veterinary medicine and veterinary education, we run the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. Further, we also run the Fuji Animal Research Farm as the production of farm animals and education in farm animal veterinary medicine at Mt. Fuji's base. Our University is an educational and research hub, spanning areas such as Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Nursing and Technology, Animal Science, and Food Science and Technology. Zoonotic diseases, food and the environment, energy resources, and a host of other global issues are problems our world currently faces. No permanent solution has yet been found, regardless of the efforts that have been made to approach them within the confines of traditional disciplinary boundaries. To face these problems, we need to adopt an interdisciplinary approach that combines agriculture and medicine with engineering and the sciences to achieve new outlooks and ideas centered on harmony between people and their environment with the practical and sustainable use of natural resources. We are called upon to deepen the mutual bonds between disciplines and apply them in a broad range of areas. Working together as a whole and acting in concert across a wide range of disciplines, Nippon Veterinary and Life Science University is committed to making contributions to Veterinary Medicine on a worldwide scale and secure a healthier world through the provision of safe food resources. At the same time, we want to contribute to creating a prosperous and vibrant society by facing and tackling our century's challenges, such as maintaining biodiversity.

View full university

- The Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) seeks to serve the veterinary profession and reward excellence. College Membership signifies that a veterinarian has expertise and competence in a nominated subject area. To become a College member, a candidate must have at least four years of post-graduate experience as a veterinarian and have completed both written and oral/practical examinations in one of the diverse range of subjects on offer. College Fellowship is associated with scholarly and technical excellence in a particular subject. Standards required for training and examination in Fellowship subjects meet or exceed the prerequisites for registration as a Veterinary Specialist in Australia and New Zealand. Science Week is a highly successful three-day scientific meeting held at the same venue as the College oral/practical examinations. It is a fantastic opportunity to attend cutting-edge presentations covering a wide range of disciplines and enjoy the collegial atmosphere engendered by College activities. The Chapter is a particular interest group that aims to bring together veterinary graduates who have an active interest in reproduction across all species. The Chapter was relatively new, having formed in 1998. The membership level examination expects knowledge of reproductive processes in all domestic species. Fellowship level examination is available within an individual species. An annual meeting to coincide with the College Science week is planned each year. Presentation of clinical case material, current research, or topical issues at the meeting is encouraged. The meeting provides an opportunity to present and actively discuss all aspects of comparative reproduction. Members of the Chapter usually have an individual species that are of particular interest to them, but discussing reproductive processes across a range of species in a more biological context is very useful to understand the many factors that may influence reproduction. Membership of the Chapter is open to all members of the College that have a fascination with reproduction. The Animal Welfare Chapter has been established to provide a forum for veterinarians' training to detailed knowledge and above-average competence in animal welfare in all species. This capability will be drawn from a broad base of knowledge across all body systems. Course content includes The Ethics of Animal Use, Physiological and Psychological Aspects of Adverse States, Animal Environments, The Veterinary Profession's Role in Animal Welfare, Veterinary Aspects of Animal Welfare, Specific Welfare Issues, Legislation and Animal Welfare and Human-Animal Relationships. Membership in this subject equips veterinarians to understand the scientific basis for optimum animal welfare and to be able to reason and debate the legal and ethical aspects of animal welfare coherently. The Aquatic Animal Health Chapter has been established to promote excellence in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of aquatic animals' diseases, emphasizing those species that are kept for aquaculture or otherwise commercially exploited. The Cattle Chapter is the branch of the College made up of veterinarians who have a particular interest in dairy/ beef cattle medicine and production and ruminant nutrition. The Emergency and Critical Care Chapter will promote excellence in treating sick animals in the Emergent Period and the duration during which a disease remains life-threatening. - By advancing knowledge and expanding our approach to practical learning, we will contribute to regional and international societies by developing human resources with skills in sustainable agriculture that can protect our food resources. Taking full advantage of its location in Tokachi, Hokkaido, the breadbasket of Japan, Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine is the only national agricultural university in Japan that provides a world-class education in agriculture, animal husbandry, and veterinary medicine. Our mission is to advance knowledge and expand practical learning to contribute to regional and international societies. Our graduates have the skills and knowledge to promote sustainable agriculture and protect our food resources. Agriculture, animal husbandry, and veterinary medicine are academic areas that require practical learning. Therefore, information and experience must be combined in students' academic lives and rooted in everyday people's lives. The various issues associated with agriculture, an industry that involves working with nature, and issues associated with food, the source of our health, are inevitably linked closely with global issues that modern societies face, such as climate change, food security, energy problems, and infectious diseases. Therefore, academic contributions in agriculture, which sustain the agricultural industry, are necessary to solve these global issues. The School of Veterinary Medicine curriculum takes full advantage of our university's distinctiveness to integrate training in agriculture and animal husbandry into veterinary medicine education. The curriculum focuses on understanding the mechanisms that control animal life and training veterinarians who can excel not only in the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases but also in the production and management of animals. Under the slogan "from farm to table," we train our students to scientifically study life, food, and the environment to develop as professionals who can be active in a wide range of agricultural and livestock fields, including food hygiene. In this global age, when national borders are rapidly dissolving, we strive to train people in agriculture to meet the demands of society. We will foster global human resources at Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine by collaborating with regional institutes of research and development and enterprises associated with agriculture, food, and animals and international organizations responsible for food safety and those assisting developing countries. To this end, we will take action based on four core principles: Develop a curriculum that is equal to the educational level of Europe and America Pursue global collaborative research and educational exchanges with top universities around the world Develop human resources through practical training that conforms to international standards for safety and hygiene Conduct collaborative research and human resource development suited to the needs of society and business View full university

The Medicine and Management of Laboratory Animals Chapter will promote excellence in medicine, management, care, well-being, and research and teaching of Laboratory Animals. The Chapter comprises a group of veterinarians unified to solve and improve eye problems in animals. It provides a forum for discussion, debate, and further understanding of eye diseases through regular meetings. The Chapter is a voice by which information can be disseminated to interested chapters, veterinarians, and non-veterinarians. The Chapter would seek to provide expertise through its fellows in assisting in the training and examination of fellowship candidates.
