Rudolf Steiner’s indications for educational renewal are part of a general ‘cultural evolution. They provide the impulse upon which the school is based. Interpreting our times, our geographical location, and the individualities of our students is an ongoing process. It is a continually evolving union of our various cultural heritages with the elemental and natural forces of our place on the continent. It is a search for true identity as local, national, and global citizens. Fundamentally, all our educational practices are directed towards this end. The Newcastle Waldorf School strives to be true to the human condition and archetypes represented in the natural world, whils…

This is a Board directive, which we must adhere to. MECS began as a dream in the mid-1950s! Christian parents dreamed of education with a Christian perspective for their children – and grandchildren. In the 1960s, they organized themselves and were very active in raising funds. In 1964, the pioneers formed their Association of Parents for Christian Education, Mount Evelyn, and accelerated the pace of work to establish a Christian school. With daring and vision in 1970, they purchased our wonderful six-hectare school property. Their dreams were realized when they opened Mount Evelyn, Christian Primary School on the 3rd of February 1973 – a full 19 years after the very fi…

Little Yarra Steiner School is co-educational and based on Christian spiritual principles as given by the Austrian philosopher and educationalist Dr. Rudolf Steiner. By these principles teachers strive in freedom to create the physical and educational environment that can best help the incarnating child to develop such qualities of will, feeling, and thought as will lead them to fulfill their earthly destiny with dignity and confidence. The location for Little Yarra Steiner School began with a gift: in 1986, while the school’s first Kindergarten and Prep group were getting underway in temporary premises in Wesburn, local farmer, Alan Earle, agreed to have the school built…

We deliver a balanced school curriculum guided by Steiner's educational philosophy and encompassing all developmental domains: social/emotional, cognitive, physical, language, and creative. The atmosphere of our playgroup is warm, gentle, and enfolding. The children are surrounded by calming pastel colors and natural materials. Beautiful items such as handmade dolls, wooden toys, blocks, silk scarves, gum nuts, and shells are used to encourage creative, imaginative play and develop a sensitivity to, as well as a respect for, nature. Other activities, such as painting, cooking, gardening, and simple crafts further enhance this. Nothing is taken for granted, for example…

Kesser Torah College offers a unique education in Sydney: an authentic Torah education together with a rigorous General Studies program. However, our point of difference is further reinforced by the Torah values that permeate every aspect of the school day – and beyond. This means that our students are taught to see the very complex world of decision-making through the prism of a very clearly defined Torah lens. The journey from adolescence to adulthood is very often plagued by many competing priorities and influences. While our students are no strangers to the modern, sophisticated environment challenging them daily by growing up in the vibrant and diverse society that i…

This program leads the children to think about what they stand for about Christian values, life and community issues, and making positive choices. Our senior students have an opportunity to take part in the Young Leaders' Day in the city as a highlight of their learning. Motivational speakers and excellent staff leadership also support the 'in school' program. Each year 7 student has a staff member other than their teacher as a personal mentor. School Captains and leadership teams offer leadership and support to other students. One vehicle for this is the Student Representative Council where environmental officers and safety officers from each class share their ideas. C…

Hope Christian College was born in the spring of 1998 by Mrs. Nancy Park and Mrs. Karen Richards who felt inspired to share with others the calling for a non-denominational school where the academics themselves had a scriptural basis. Our school is renowned for its excellence in academics and is a good home of religious discipline. One cannot but be struck by the beauty of this school and our school community, with its lovely grounds and magnificent new block which is 100m from our current school. Our new land looks out onto the beautiful Roelands hills, where we have our new netball/basketball courts, as well as a fantastic-sized oval. Our students have the joy of p…
