- CBS started in September 2007 with about 100 students. Our school includes JK through Grade 12. Over time, we have achieved steady and consistent growth in the number of students enrolled, improved quality of infrastructure and academic programs and steadily brought in more technology. We have also set up enhanced management systems and improved policies and processes. At CBS, we provide an environment where children can develop their innate skills and discover more about themselves. Through the experience that we have gained over the years, we have formulated and developed a rigorous academic structure and programs to ensure the overall growth of our students. Along with academics, we also promote a safe, inspiring, and supportive environment for our students. We always encourage active participation from parents, teachers, and community members. The curriculum at CBS is the driving force behind all the initiatives and teaching strategies of its faculty. Students require consistent challenging programs that will capture their interest and stimulate creative thinking and problem-solving abilities. They must also be able to build independent capabilities as well as a team spirit to be prepared for a lifetime of learning. Our students, in the process of learning, acquire knowledge and the skills required to excel when they enter the work environment. CBS follows a modified Ontario (Canada) curriculum. This adds enriching concepts to all subjects. To ensure that the best programming is provided to the children, resources have been employed from other sources too. We have facilities on our campus which include a multipurpose hall for school functions and sports activities, large kindergarten play areas, a comprehensive school library, efficient and updated science and computer labs, and 2 soccer fields. At CBS we promote a respectful, safe and supportive environment, encouraging high expectations and academic success. Knowledge and skills are two things that are important in any global community. Through proper implementation of the curriculum, we intend to impart these qualities to our students, so that they can compete, excel and lead lives with integrity and satisfaction. We wish for our students to be successful both as individuals and in a larger sense as meaningful contributors to society. View full school

- Promoting respect for self and others Promoting understanding Promoting a life-long love of learning Promoting the ability to think creatively, critically, and independently. The Italian Bilingual School has been established in 2002 and provides a unique approach to teaching and learning by offering a bilingual aspect that has combined elements of both the Australian and the Italian curriculum to provide a program of study which targets the needs of our students. Our school is a primary school that currently caters to children from Prep class (under 5 years old) through to Year 6. Our Vision Statement is clear, "Excellence through Bilingualism" and we value excellence in literacy and numeracy teaching explicit teaching of thinking skills and social skills providing a holistic, safe, and caring learning environment, and valuing and welcoming the involvement of parents and the wider community. The bilingual aspect of the school has always been its most distinctive feature and by offering this type of education we strive to provide a service that, although still unusual in our Australian context, is common and successful in Europe, Canada, and elsewhere. Some of the benefits include adding to communicative and intellectual skills and laying the foundation for successful learning of further languages later in life. Learning another language or learning through another language, gives students a level of second language skill not achievable through a regular school program. In particular, a bilingual education offers a deep understanding of another way of being the possibility of unconditional respect for 'other' which we believe is the basis for true global citizenship. The Italian Bilingual School aims to provide an environment in which young people can grow towards being citizens who have access within themselves to the concepts, skills, attitudes, and knowledge to act positively and productively in the world for the equal benefit of themselves, others, and our environment. Despite this impressive growth, we remain at the heart and in daily practice a family school. The four founders are still at the helm of a team that is deeply committed to international education and personal excellence. When your children are on campus, they are our children, too. At Haut-Lac International Bilingual School, we believe that a holistic approach to education is the only way forward. Whilst we understand and appreciate the importance of achieving academically, and are proud of our unique Primary curriculum and four Secondary curricula, we also know that a well-rounded education requires teaching sport, art, transferable skills, and cultural awareness. Our approach encourages your child to be creative, to develop their problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, to become a leader and team player, and to communicate ideas in more than one language. As a bilingual school, we believe that true bilingual education is not limited to offering academic instruction in two languages. We offer true bilingual immersion in the study, play, and daily activities so that, no matter what your child’s language level is today, they will leave our school equipped to live in English and French. We also run a predominantly English program for students who come to us with neither English nor French nor whose families are on short-term contracts to Switzerland and plan on returning to study in their respective countries. These students will study all their subjects in English and have one French lesson a day to help them make the most of learning in a bilingual school. We adapt our teaching approach to the developmental stages of the children and adolescents in our care. Not every method is appropriate for every child, so our teachers focus on identifying and using approaches that will work for each student. View full school

- KIBS strives to offer the best possible international and national education. The education philosophy of KIBS considers every child as a unique individual and focuses on the whole child for education instruction. KIBS prides itself to be able to offer families in the Zürich area an international and national education that places the child at the center of learning. The children are engaged in meaningful experiences that challenge and promote academic excellence. To offer a curriculum that meets the needs of its pupils, KIBS has developed its own tailored program which incorporates learning skills and objectives from international curriculums as well as the learning objectives of Canton Zürich. All subjects are taught through a cross-curricular medium, which creates a meaningful base on which to build a strong learning platform. The curriculum promotes critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills. KIBS encourages its pupils to develop a degree of independence and to take responsibility for themselves. Our mission here at KIBS is to offer high-quality and innovative international and national education that places the child at the center of learning and motivates it to reach her/his full potential in a respectful and accepting environment. By presenting all learning through interactive teachings, the children at KIBS are not only taught in a supportive, class atmosphere and smaller groups, but also on an individual level which ensures that each student is receiving the best possible education. The children are constantly engaged in meaningful experiences that challenge and promote academic excellence. The early developmental years are fundamental to the future success of a child in school years and even later in life in the professional arena. Young children are particularly curious, inquisitive, and willing to learn. It is important to meet a child’s natural readiness to learn at this stage without overwhelming them. True learning produces joy and happiness. Through multi-sensory lessons and activities, we encourage the children to explore the world using all their senses. We encourage them to think independently and empathize with others to learn conflict resolution strategies as well as tolerance and respect. - The International Bilingual School Terra Nova accompanies children from kindergarten through to entry into secondary schooling or work life, always with the prospect of higher vocational training. The IBS Terra Nova is a private school based on the canton of Zurich curriculum. In addition, we also follow international curricula – especially from the English-speaking world. Our kindergarten and primary school are to be met. bilingual in English and German. The high proportion of English-speaking families in our environment naturally creates a bilingual atmosphere that allows the high standards of the Swiss school system and the international requirements to be met. The IBS Terra Nova opens the eyes to numerous worlds. Along the communal path into the future, many horizons and perspectives arise. With its two sites in Küsnacht and Feldmeilen, IBS Terra Nova presents itself as a modern educational, cultural and social center. Our private school is a state recognized as well as confessionally and ideologically independent. Since its foundation in 1996, IBS Terra Nova has stood for a performance-oriented educational institution and a place of innovation. Parents who set high standards for the education of their children find a competent partner in IBS Terra Nova. Our uppermost goal is to prepare the students for academic education in either a long- or short-term Gymnasium grammar school. IBS Terra Nova is firmly anchored in the Swiss educational landscape and prepares children and youth for international requirements. We want to maintain the joy of discovery, recognize children’s talents and specific strengths and promote them. In awareness of the significance of English, we already nurture bilingualism in our kindergarten and primary school. At the secondary level, language teaching in German and English is according to knowledge and happens in ability-level groups. Poets and philosophers allow the heroes of their stories to set out for new lands and horizons time and again. Terra Nova discovered neither bilingualism nor school. However, with our Terra Nova philosophy, we are always exploring a new land. The school is run as a day school and cares for the children throughout the day – with lunch and additional offers in culture and sport. The Kindergarten at the IBS Terra Nova generally lasts two years and is open to children from four years of age. We lead the children based on their prior knowledge of German and/or English and prepare them in all areas of learning for their future schooling careers. The teaching is shared equally between German and English and is given by mother-tongue teachers. In these foundation years, the children are already exposed to a wide-ranging experience in writing and media. There are not yet subject lessons in the Kindergarten. The children develop their skills across the disciplines in an integrated way – through activities, actions, creative tasks, and play. The teacher selects specific content from different education areas to meet the needs of the children either as a whole class, small groups, or individually. The learning environment mirrors the reality of life for children as much as possible. For them, it is important that they belong to and can contribute to this environment, that they have friends and feel understood, protected, and treated fairly by the teachers. The first years serve to introduce and develop basic cultural techniques. The children bring different foreknowledge to this and learn at different paces. While some have already gathered first experiences in a subject, others must learn the new material from the ground up. We, therefore, focus on differentiated instruction. No child should be bored – and every child should not only understand but also internalize the material. Social study is a broad field of research and experience. Here the children deal with the multifaceted questions of life, look for answers to scientific phenomena, develop expertise in numerous areas and so expand their general knowledge. Language, mathematics and social studies instruction is shared equally between German and English. Generally, one mother tongue teacher works in the first half of the week, the teacher with the other language during the second part. Music, handicrafts, theater, media, and sports are taught by qualified subject personnel either in English or German depending upon the teacher’s origin. As of Grade 5 French is added, also taught by a mother tongue teacher. At our academically demanding secondary school, our students continue their education in two languages. Our bilingual curriculum is based on the official curriculum of the Canton of Zurich (Lehrplan 21) and the standards of the Cambridge International Curriculum. All students are prepared for entry into our English-speaking Gymnasium or other high schools. View full school

- Kuwait Bilingual School (KBS) was established in 1998 as the first bilingual school in al jahra city in Kuwait and is still today the only institution of its kind in that city. KBS is a non-profit bilingual educational institution, which currently has a school population of students from kg1 to grade 12. The policy allows for 25 students per class. Kuwait Bilingual School became an authorized IB World School in June 2013 offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP). IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education—that we believe is important for our students. Kuwait Bilingual School has been officially accepted as a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB-MYP). This means that KBS is pursuing authorization as an IB-MYP world school. These are the schools that share a common philosophy, a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education that KBS believes is important for our students. Students in the 21st century are faced with the challenge of learning about an interconnected world where knowledge is constantly developing. The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Primary Years Programme prepares students to be active participants in a lifelong journey of learning. The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), for students aged 3 to 12, focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside. At the heart of the program's philosophy is a commitment to the structured, purposeful inquiry as to the leading vehicle for learning. These themes are about issues that have meaning for and are important too, all of us. The program offers a balance between learning about or through the subject areas and learning beyond them. The six themes of global significance create a transdisciplinary framework that allows students to "step up" beyond the confines of learning within subject areas. The six transdisciplinary themes help teachers to develop a program of inquiries–in-depth investigations into important ideas, identified by the teachers, and requiring a high level of involvement on the part of the students. These inquiries are substantial, in-depth, and usually last for several weeks. Assessment is an important part of each unit of inquiry as it both enhances learning and provides opportunities for students to reflect on what they know, understand, and can do. The teacher's feedback to the students provides the guidance, the tools, and the incentive for them to become more competent, more skillful, and better at understanding how to learn. Currently, at KBS we are working on improving the guidance curriculum that consists of structured developmental lessons. We hope that the school's counseling curriculum provides students with a better understanding of the scope and sequence related to counseling topics. The guidance counselor visits classes and works with the teacher to either provide instruction, the team teaches, or assist in teaching counseling-related topics connected to the class's unit of inquiry. The IB goal is to provide students with the values and opportunities that will enable them to develop sound judgments, make wise choices and respect others in the global community. The International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) is a purpose-built five-year program (Grades 6-10, ages 11-16) for international schools and is now being taught and implemented worldwide, with considerable growth in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. The IB MYP is geared to meet the needs of IB World Schools, as well as other school systems. It builds upon skills and units of inquiry learning developed in the IB Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). IB PYP teaching and learning “focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside” (IB). The IB MYP also relies on connecting classroom pedagogical practices and content to the world outside through the Global Contexts and the Learner Profile. The IB MYP is followed by the IB Diploma Programme which is internationally-recognized, university-entrance qualification for students studying outside of their home country. Is the person trained and qualified to help students solve problems and facilitate their understanding themselves as well as understanding their strengths and weaknesses until the child can reach the maximum degree of growth allowed by their abilities in all aspects ( psychological - social - academic and family ). The students are still in childhood stages and therefore have developmental characteristics that differ from the rest of the individuals. The counseling of children during the basic stage is responsible for helping the child to achieve healthy growth and integrated compatibility. The educational counselor acts as a bridge between the student, the teacher, and the family this comes only through good relations with the three parties. View full school

- The Bilingual model of education and the program design we offer is based on scientific research and worldwide studies and an internationally recognized curriculum. Our approach to education does not limit itself to only creating knowledgeable learners but considers the needs of the whole child. We aim to develop internationally minded life-long learners who through their learning experiences will acquire critical and higher-order thinking skills, become effective communicators in two or more languages and develop a flexible mind and approach to life so that they can appreciate, adapt and perform efficiently within a variety of contexts and situations. Our school aims to provide a learning environment where pupils’ innate curiosity becomes the focus of learning we strive to transform this innate curiosity into a passion for learning, a passion which will instill itself both during the years of their school life and beyond. We are committed to providing an education that facilitates the development of every pupil’s strengths and potential. Research findings on the effects of Bilingual Education have shown that children who learn in a bilingual program will, in both linguistic and academic performance domains, outperform their monolingual counterparts, provided they have had uninterrupted attendance of a minimum of four to a maximum of seven years in the program. Our school offers this continuity by proposing a school model which caters to ages 3 to 14 (i.e. PreSchool to Middle School). We take immense pride in the regular feedback we receive on our ex-pupil's outstanding ability, once they have left our school, to integrate and adjust to different national or international school systems where their levels of performance and preparation seem to match those of excellence. The Bilingual School of Monza/Play English offers a Dual Language Immersion model of Education in English and in Italian through which young learners can acquire a second language while developing and maintaining their mother tongue. Our program of studies and model design is based on sound constructivist educational theories and scientific research. We believe that students best learn in an environment where they feel emotionally secure and safe and therefore we place particular importance on establishing caring environments and relationships amongst adults and children. We consider the student’s family as partners in the educational process and as such we encourage them to be active members of our learning community. We believe that all students have equal rights to the curriculum and as such we aim to differentiate our instructional and assessment practices to cater to the diversity of students’ learning styles, needs, and levels of competencies. We believe that every child has the right to an education which lays the foundation for a world of peace. Bilingual Education provides an academically rigorous educational model which embraces human communication, understanding, empathy, and appreciation of diversity. Our School will nurture the qualities of global citizenship as we prepare students to face the demands of an ever-changing world. View full school

- When we founded CIPEC we were as ambitious as pioneers, although our experience enabled us to be aware of realities. The years have rushed by, not without their fair share of difficulties, leaving us with those troubled sentiments of apprehension and delight that anyone who has fathered something feels. Our success can be read on our pupils’ faces. They love their school because it is not a cold, spiritless, impersonal place but a learning environment where growing up is a pleasurable experience under the watchful eye of devoted adults. In a time of great political, technological, scientific, economic, ethical, and cultural upheaval, even educational programs aiming at the qualification of a high level is insufficient. Learning how to live a free and happy life conscious of the rights and happiness of others in permanent mutation. With this objective in mind, progress in an international environment shows us the way to a new humanism stamped with hope, while safeguarding our own identity. The private status of our undertaking underlines our desire for total ideological, religious, pedagogical, and financial independence. Our methods and our structures are original. However, we don’t accept the “fringe” etiquette. In the steps of and hand in hand with others, we are contributing to the grand project of building: THE BEST SCHOOL POSSIBLE. The teaching of arts and culture has, as its prime objective, the development of the creative powers of the child. Cipec has further goals: - broadening of the mind, tolerance, the respect of the values and beliefs of others - building bridges between different disciplines. Explaining mistakes made, revealing weaknesses to develop understanding. Teaching methods: Preparation for School Shows (Christmas, End of Year), Publication of the school magazines ('Les Cahiers du CIPEC'), debates, visits, journeys. Sports play an important role in the School curriculum. Although Cipecians are on the sports field, in the gym, or at the club regularly, our objective is not to artificially produce champions but to contribute to the general well-being of the individual. Particularly talented pupils have ample scope to develop as our team of teachers comprises the best-qualified professionals. Throughout the year various competitions and friendly matches are organized culminating in the 'Olympiades' (Sports day) in June. The communion of feelings between children and adults in the creation, preparation, and performance of a show characterizes the highest degree of possible pedagogical success. Watched by his/her parents, the child with a tense body, trembling limbs, staring at the spotlight, which gives him a sense of space, the miracle happens: he acts… For a few long seconds, lit up, as if struck by grace, he/she feels strong, loved, elevated-he/she had never before experienced this feeling in French or Maths lessons. Ambition and pride are the engines of intelligence, the privileged instruments in education. To inhibit them is the same as forbidding dreams, and we know, through rats, the decline, which follows… View full school
