  2. The UPV is a public, dynamic, and innovative institution that is dedicated to researching and teaching. The UPV maintains strong bonds with its social environment and a strong presence abroad. Our vocation as a service results from our commitment to society. We provide our students with the knowledge they need to work as graduates in their professional field. We offer them an all-round education where they acquire technological skills and humanistic and cultural education. We train people, and we train professionals because we believe we must give our students knowledge and experience. By so doing, we believe that we are helping them become free, responsible people aware of social problems, are capable of taking on commitments and have prospects for the future. The teaching and administrative staff engaged by the UPV work to offer our students the high-quality education they need. The Rector is the highest academic authority at the University. As such, he represents the UPV in all sorts of official acts and transactions. He is responsible for the University's government and management, develops the lines of action previously approved by the collegiate bodies, and carries out their agreements. The Rector is also responsible for all competencies not expressly conferred on other government bodies. Universities are called to play a fundamental role in this "knowledge-intensive society" in which we are immersed. A more dynamic society than ever before, where the capacity to adapt becomes more and more necessary. To adapt successfully, it seems essential that what is needed is a mediated and tiered reorientation of our capabilities towards the necessities of tomorrow. The Universitat Politècnica de València is an institution with the capacity to take the lead in these changes and the meeting of the demands which face us, characteristics which underline its excellent value but which also mean the adoption of specific organizational and functional processes, all of which justified the need to draw up a new Strategic Plan, as a tool for the management of the institution, the definition of lines of action, and to support decision-making. Planning guarantees flexibility in the face of change, a guarantee of coherent evolution, both for our internal operations and equally to ask society what we consider fair for the University. If we are to request the role coherently the University deserves to play and the treatment it must receive, it requires that each of its members puts in the day-to-day effort to do an excellent job to the best of our abilities. The 2015-2020 Strategic Plan was drawn up in two phases: firstly, the mission, vision, and shared values of the university community, which must characterize our institution, were specified secondly, a strategy concerning the basis of the challenges and projects was defined, duly accompanied by the deadlines and timescales and by a framework of responsibility and indicators connected to its accomplishment, all of this to ensure that it is in line with the corresponding annual budget. It is conceived with a philosophy of continual review. It is a dynamic document which will be revised each year and which specifies the schedule of activities for each year, given that both the institution and the society it serves are immersed in a permanent process of change, which will no doubt alter the current circumstances in which the Plan was developed. The Universitat Politècnica de València educates people in order to enhance their skills researches and generates knowledge, with the assurance of quality, rigor, and ethics, in the fields of science, technology, art, and business, to further the integral development of society and contribute to its technical, economic and cultural progress. First, let me begin by expressing my sincere congratulations: you are now about to enter a new phase in your life in which essential choices regarding your future are to be made. You now face the responsibility of making decisions today that will significantly affect your tomorrow. To do this, fundamental questions concerning who you are, what you wish to achieve, your strengths and talents, or whom you want to share your life need to be considered. Above all else, you must now think hard about the role you are looking to play in this world. Please allow me to make a suggestion: Be the protagonist in your life. Dare to make a difference. Try to change the world. Please make your way in it. Help make it a better and more humane place to live in. Our University offers a supportive and caring campus environment and provides, besides academic excellence, a wide range of extracurricular activities and services. In this way, students can get involved in campus life, building a strong community, meaningful friendships, and a long-lasting life experience. 6. The city has played a crucial role in UMA's founding: all aspects of the province (citizens, notable figures, and mass media) have been critical drivers for the establishment of our University. It all began in 1968 with the development of the "University of Málaga's Friends Association," an organization that advocated for a University in the province by raising awareness of the issue and mobilizing citizens, which finally led to its founding. We are a young, growing university that has made quality teaching, cutting-edge research, and knowledge transfer its trademark. Privileged in its geographical location, the University of Malaga is renowned for its highly qualified teaching and research staff. It maintains strong ties to the productive and academic sector of the region. Courses at the University of Malaga combine traditional subjects with many specialized degrees and postgraduate courses that allow students to design the studies that best suit their needs and interests. Also, complimentary cultural activities give students an all-round education. The University of Malaga, together with the University of Seville, makes up the Campus of International Excellence, 'Andalucía Tech,' which works in leading research and knowledge transfer areas and maintains strategic alliances with more than 150 companies. About forty thousand students are currently enrolled at the University, entrusting in us to help them become the professionals the 21st-century demands. To become a full top-level institution, UMA developed an expansion plan regarding fields of study and infrastructure. Thus, once established in El Ejido Campus, the University expanded towards Teatinos. This area initially comprised the School of Medicine, the School of Humanities, and the School of Science, and gradually developed into a whole campus providing a full range of academic studies and services. At present, the University of Málaga remains highly committed to making scientific development and innovation the grounds for social progress to rest. The efforts to promote mobility and attract international talent have stood out in recent years, resulting in an open and cosmopolitan university involved in top-level research projects. 12. The Institutional Plan of the Universidad Nacional del Sur sets forth the Regional and International Projection of the University as an essential and strategic axis. The "Promotion of University insertion in internationalization and regional integration processes", through student and teacher exchange programs so that they may have access to other academic, professional, and cultural realities is the objective of the area of international cooperation and affairs. Regarding student exchange, different student exchange programs with foreign universities, to promote the exchange of ideas and to allow candidates to become part of disciplinary breakthroughs and discussions in the different fields of knowledge have been recently promoted. Regarding professor exchange, the transfer of professors is promoted through exchange and scholarship programs. The Universidad Nacional del Sur promotes the subscription of agreements with organizations, governments, and institutions from very diverse countries in the world. In all cases, these are general agreements that set forth reciprocal exchange, cooperation, and assistance between the University and other organizations. Regarding International Scholarship Programs, the University offers general information on different scholarship programs granted by international institutions to its community and the general public. Among the programs organized directly by the Universidad Nacional del Sur in order to promote technological and scientific activities, there are the Research Group Projects (PGI). Grants are given to projects of groups of trained and active researchers currently working at the UNS. The Instituto Tecnológico del Sur was created on October 9, 1946, by Provincial Act No. 5051, and it began its activities under the academic dependence on the Universidad Nacional de La Plata. In 1947, the Nation and the province Buenos AiresFrente del Edificio de Alem signed an agreement stating that both would supply the funds for the operation and maintenance of the institute. On February 12, 1948, the incumbent president, Juan D. Perón, appointed Dr. Miguel López Francés as President of the University, who was in charge of adopting the necessary measures for the organization thereof. The official inauguration ceremony of the ITS was held on February 20, 1948. The category of University was granted in 1950; however, it was canceled in 1952, and it depended again on the Ministry of Economy of the Nation. The first graduate of the Institute was Engineer Nereo Roberto Parro, in 1953, who was natural of the town of Tornquist. In 1955, after the fall of Perón's government, Professor Pedro González Prieto was appointed auditor of the institute, and proceedings before the national government began for the institute to become a national university. After the studies carried out by an advisory committee appointed by the Executive Power, the creation of the Universidad Nacional del Sur was approved by decree-law No. 154, dated January 5, 1956. That same year Professor Vicente Fatone was appointed Auditor President. Classes at the brand new institution began on April 1 of that same year. The UNS was the seventh national University created in the country, after the universities of Córdoba (1613), La Plata (1890), Tucumán (1912), Litoral (1919), and Cuyo (1939). The new institution organized its academic structure into Departments, instead of the traditional Schools. Departments have a smaller administrative structure and allow for knowledge flexibility and inter-disciplinarity. Thus, academic units do not have to create courses given at other departments for their careers, so that students can take them to the corresponding departments. The first Departments were Accountancy, Economics, Physics, Geology and Geography, Mathematics, Engineering, Humanities, and Chemistry. After just a month of its opening, two students who had begun their careers at the Institute, Jorge Laurent and David Tomás Prieto, took the exams for the last courses, thus becoming the first graduates in the institution. The first woman to obtain her degree at the UNS was Betty Kerlleñevich, from Bahía Blanca, one of the ITS founding students, who also obtained a degree in engineering. The main university complex is located at Alem 1253, where most departments and laboratories operate as well as the Central Library. It is a large building that takes up more than a block, and at the front, there is a fountain with a sculpture by the artist Lola Mora. There are other buildings at the same premises: close to the one mentioned, Casa de la Cultura at the intersection of 12 de Octubre and San Juan streets, are the buildings for the Departments of Humanities, Economics, Geography and Tourism, and Administration Sciences. In the area known as "Altos del Palihue," there is another complex where the Departments of Agronomy and Law are located. There, the University has several acres of land, in which the Escuela de Agricultura y Ganadería "Ing. Agr. Adolfo J. Zabala" is also located. The building located at Colon 80 corresponded initially to the headquarters of the Universidad Nacional del Sur. At present, the President's Office and its Secretariats are focused here, together with other administrative offices. At 925 is the Casa de la Cultura, a colonial mansion formerly the center of a prestigious villa. In this building, the General Secretariat of Communication and Culture organizes artistic and cultural activities. The University Foundation (FUNS) and Publishing House (EdiUNS) are also located there. The buildings located at 11 de Abril 445 are the Escuela Superior de Comercio, Escuela de EGB (Initial Level, Levels 1, 2, and 3), and Escuela Normal Superior. View full university

  15. Founded in 2002, Universidad Tecmilenio was created to meet the changing demands of the new millennium. Today, the transformation continues, as the Universidad Tecmilenio responds to world megatrends and the global work market's demands. We aim to empower students to develop their life purpose and take charge of their learning. Our New University Model has three innovative features. The combination of all three is what makes this model unique in Mexico and the world. Our tailored educational experience allows students to choose 40% of their curriculum in Specialty Certificates adapted to students' professional interests and makes for a more robust résumé upon graduation. Learning by doing is an essential component of every subject. Practical experience is designed, so the learning is reinforced and internalized and becomes much more significant for the student. Students cover four essential points in each subject in each of our programs: the experience, conceptualize, and reflect on their learning and demonstrate the new abilities they have acquired. And to ensure their successful incorporation into professional life, our students' education includes a Business Semester or two Business Quarters. Students' skills are validated via business immersion planned and evaluated by their professors and executives of the company where they collaborate. The third characteristic is: being the best place to study and gaining professional skills and the tools for creating happiness and fulfillment in one's life. And for this, the University works to provide students the necessary skills to acquire tools and practices that allow them to improve their wellbeing, to be happier, and to have a self-defined life purpose. This means that our students explore different disciplines, including Positive Psychology. The Universidad Tecmilenio was founded in 2002 with the backing of Tecnológico de Monterrey. Since its inception, Tecmilenio has distinguished itself as an innovative educational institution that has experienced tremendous growth throughout the country since its founding. Another feature of this institution is our commitment to offering graduates a quick adaptation to the needs of Mexico and the labor market. In 2013, Universidad Tecmilenio launched our New University Model, which is a testament to our innovative nature, because this approach is the only one of its kind in the world. This model's most disruptive feature is its importance to the students' long-term wellbeing, which is based on Positive Psychology and supported by the Institute of Happiness Sciences, created by the Universidad Tecmilenio in 2013. Our vision is "To foster students' discovery of their life's purpose and the skills to fulfill it." At Universidad Tecmilenio, we have set ourselves apart by providing our graduates with an education that makes them competitive in the market economy and increases their happiness and wellbeing, based on the science of Positive Psychology. Our vision is to foster students' discovery of their life's purpose and give them the skills to fulfill it. We work to attain that vision through our five values: We create opportunities, and we are willing to break paradigms. We generate ideas, make them a reality, and take the necessary risks. We freely express our ideas and denounce unethical behavior. We are congruent in word and deed and lead with the truth. We care for and respect the integrity and dignity of each person. We work in solidarity with vulnerable communities to meet their needs. We foster and recognize collaborative and multidisciplinary work. We eliminate the barriers that prevent us from working as a team. We are citizens with global culture. We compete globally, and we continually improve ourselves to be on the leading edge. We foster diversity and appreciation for different cultures. For Universidad Tecmilenio, the student is at the epicenter of all we do, our vision, and our Ecosystem of Happiness and Wellbeing ®. That is why being in constant contact with our academic and administrative community members is essential, and one of our priorities. That is why we have created video messages from our Rector, Dr. Héctor Mauricio Escamilla Santana, especially for you. In them, he summarizes the most critical events from month to month at our institution to fulfill our goal of being the best place to study and learn the skills for happiness.

    Universidad Anáhuac

The Universidad Anáhuac was founded in 1964 as a fundamental part of the educational project of the Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ with the primary objective of raising the human and social condition of the men and women of Mexico through the student formation. The Universidad Anáhuac México Norte began its activities in 1964, in a house located in Lomas Virreyes, with only 48 students in two majors: Business Administration and Economics. Under the presidency of Fr. Faustino Pardo L.C., it opened in the following years: Psychology and Human Sciences in 1965, and Architecture and Law in 1966. Simultaneously, and thanks to the support of distinguished Mexican visionary men and business people, the new facilities in Lomas Anáhuac began. The year 1968 was especially significant; not only did the first generation of Anáhuac alumni graduated, but the new campus was also inaugurated on June 4. Based on those years of effort and confidence in the future, the University was consolidated, which is today recognized as one of the most prestigious private higher education institutions. In 1981, the Government of the Republic recognized the quality of the Anáhuac by granting it the Right of Autonomy and Official Validity of Studies. That same year, to consolidate our Institution in the southern area of Mexico City, the Universidad Anáhuac México Sur was born, the first step in creating the Anáhuac Universities Network. The Universidad Anáhuac México Sur began classes with Business Administration, Tourism Administration, Graphic Design, Industrial Engineering, and Industrial Relations. A year later, Actuarial Sciences, Electrical Engineering, and Electronic Engineering emerged. In 2006, the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) granted recognition to the Universidad Anáhuac México Norte as an Institution of Academic Excellence, endorsing its academic quality and confirming its commitment to the training of positive action leaders. In 2007 and just after its first 25 years, México Sur received the same distinction one year later. In 2009, the Ministry of Public Education gave the Universidad Anáhuac México Norte recognition for its quality, which confirms that prestigious and demanding accrediting bodies endorse most of the programs studied by our students. In 2014, to remember our history with gratitude and pride, to live the present with passion and generosity, and project ourselves to the future with vision and confidence, the Universidad Anáhuac Mexico Norte celebrated its first 50 years of life. As of 2016, the process of Integration between the Anáhuac Mexico Norte and the Anáhuac Mexico Sur starts with the aim of bringing together the strengths of both institutions to form the Universidad Anáhuac México. Mr. Cipriano Sánchez García, Legionary of Christ, was appointed as the new and first President of the Universidad Anáhuac México. To be an academic community that contributes and encourages a comprehensive formation of our students, preparing them with: An innovative, professional, and cultural education of excellent and international level A profound human and moral education inspired by the perennial values of Christian humanism Real social awareness can become positive action leaders, helping to promote the development of human beings and society. We are a team of instructors committed to the development of upright people with human and professional excellence. We aim at serving the University Community through personal accompaniment and the establishment of student groups fostering meetings with national and international leaders, academic activities and integration, cultural, sports, spiritual, artistic, and social commitment events. This is done through a teamwork philosophy, with quality and human warmth, based on principles and values, and focusing on transcendence to develop good men and women.

  19. UPAEP was born in 1973 as a project of Puebla's society. It was first led by a group of young people who decided to make a difference and undertake a new project that could favor freedom and university autonomy. This project has crystallized as an institution committed to the search and dissemination of the truth since it wants to be congruent with Christian humanism. Thus, today, as yesterday, we are committed to educating professionals who could be a factor of change and transformation to achieve the construction of the Common Good. Our university has understood since its foundation that in order to fulfill its mission, it is indispensable to develop an integrated educational model that is focused on the person, built on academic excellence, and permanently linked to the social issue. Thus, 96% of the enrollment in an undergraduate academic degree takes accredited programs of high quality. An Academic Council that ensures the programs' relevance with the environment's challenges and opportunities checks each program. Currently, all of UPAEP's undergraduate academic programs count on an entrepreneurial line. Our students can start to solidify their entrepreneurial project, either social or particular, to their profession. This project is shaped and strengthened at the university's incubator company called UNINCUBE. Our project's integrity is also enhanced through the multiple sportive and cultural activities as well as through the leadership and service, which are UPAEP's most essential features. In UPAEP, we consider that the Postgraduate programs and the Research projects are essential to contribute to the Innovation that requires a severe university proposal, which may generate concrete ideas and solutions to promote the societies' integral development. Thus, our university offers a wide range of flexible and interdisciplinary postgraduate courses in all modalities (face-to-face, online, open), which have led UPAEP to occupy a privileged place in the country: today, more than one out of every hundred students, who have studied or are studying postgraduate studies in Mexico, study at UPAEP. Our world requires university students who may act at a local level with a global perspective. UPAEP has been a pioneer in the internationalization of its university community through an intercultural vision that involves the appreciation of the national culture to share it and enrich it with other cultures. To fulfill this objective, UPAEP offers today several programs that promote student's mobility in different teaching and research programs, as well as in professional internships abroad, in addition to 84 double-degree programs at prestigious universities around the world. Finally, it is essential to highlight that the humanistic vocation UPAEP is based on seeks the person's reassessment as an individual who assumes his/her extraordinary dignity and exercises it in his/her relationship with his/her neighbor in order to create a community. Thus, he/she could find a sense of life, seeking transcendence. This is why UPAEP calls on everyone who feels challenged by this proposal to adopt what we know in UPAEP as the 'Eagle spirit,' and to make our institutional mission alive: "Create currents of thought and train leaders who transform the society in search of the Truth by integrating the faith, science, and life."

This humanistic vocation has existed since the founding of the Company of Jesus in 1540. When Jesuits reached New Spain in 1572, their religious and educational zeal allowed them to create renowned teaching and research centers - such as the colleges of St. Ildefonso, Vizcainas, and St. Peter and St. Paul, to mention a few of the institutions that became very important in their time. In 1943, the Jesuits founded a private institution of higher education - the University Cultural Center - a pioneering development in Mexican education. Ten years later, the center became the IBERO, an institution whose name reflected its desire to extend its services throughout the region. Nowadays, IBERO is part of a network of 8 universities located in various Mexican cities, which is, in turn, part of the Latin American branch comprehending 31 universities run by the Company of Jesus, and one of the more than two hundred Jesuit universities spread worldwide. 22. Universidad Panamericana was founded in 1967 as a business school. The original group of scholars and business people who founded the Pan-American Institute of Top Business Management (IPADE) soon began promoting today's Universidad Panamericana. The Pan-American Institute of Humanities (IPH), the precursor to Universidad Panamericana, was founded in 1968. In 1978, I was elevated to the rank of University, and took the name Universidad Panamericana, even though both IPADE and IPH had initially conceived knowledge as being unitary and universal- that is, a university. Universidad Panamericana has four campi which give service to almost 12 thousand students in 33-degree programs. The first campus was inaugurated in Mexico City in 1968, the second in Guadalajara in 1981, and a third in Aguascalientes in 1989. Campus Santa Fe, also located in Mexico City, was inaugurated in 2011. As one University with one spirit, UP works daily on three foundational pillars: teaching, research, and culture transmission. In virtue of an agreement between the Governing Board and the Prelature of Opus Dei, Universidad Panamericana has entrusted to that Prelature the spiritual attention and doctrinal guidance of all its activities. In its few decades of life, the University has come to occupy a place as one of Mexico's top universities. Educate persons who seek the truth and commit to it, promoting Christian humanism, contributing to building a better world. As a university, become a global referent through academic quality, ethical formation, and a Christian view of life. Be a university whose alumni are socially responsible and aspire to professional and personal fulfillment. Our motto and shield identify the fundamental principles which move us as a University: "Ubi espíritus, Libertas" (Where the spirit is, there is liberty). The University shield is made up of two key elements: a red square and a blue band that appear in the left lateral represent the coat of arms used by Christopher Columbus during America's discovery. These symbolize Pan-Americanism. On a background of gold, in the right lateral, appears an oak tree, a symbol of strength. Its roots are the different sources of an integral formation: the four ramifications symbolize the four cardinal virtues (prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance) the acorns and leaves represent the other virtues, derived from the first four. The University does not turn its back on any human concern, any problem of society, or any citizen worry. The University should respond to these demands with the resources at hand: the sharing of thought, openness to dialogue, and an unceasing search for the truth. The work of scientific research synthesizes this university vocation. The contemporary world asks the university institution- with increasing urgency- to offer creative solutions to its many problems. Only through quality applied research will the University be capable of offering these answers. Universidad Panamericana takes its vocation for research seriously. Our principal work is, and will always be, the development of science and knowledge. In the Buenos Aires daily Clarín, dated September 1982, Jorge Luis Borges declared: "there is a multitude of evils which overwhelm us: economic ruin, joblessness, hunger, demagogic anarchy, violence, senseless nationalism, and a generalized absence of ethics. The last of these is the worst". As a privileged space for the sharing of thought, the university must also try to restore the ethical sense, against the inertia of an environment of deep malaise, increasingly technical and decreasingly human. To this end, we direct our daily efforts at UP. With the individual at the center of the action, our community of students and faculty dedicate their work to this goal. As you browse our web page, you can discover a small sample of our work. Thank you for your visit. Welcome.
  23. One of the most prestigious higher education institutions in Mexico – Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP) – is located in Cholula, the oldest city in Latin America, whose magic is the result of a combination of art, culture, history, traditions, and modernity. UDLAP is only a two-hour drive from Mexico City, one of the most cosmopolitan and populated cities globally, and 20 minutes from Puebla, a UNESCO world heritage city. Given its excellent geographic location, close to beaches, forests, and archeological centers, cultural, artistic, and recreational activities enhance students' university experience. UDLAP's history begins with the Mexico City College, founded in 1940, laying the foundations for an international university. With over 75 years of experience, it has become an excellent academic institution with over 70 Licenciatura and graduate study programs in diverse areas. It offers a multicultural experience to its students, including the 55 nationalities represented on campus due to its exchange agreements with close to 40 countries. Students from UDLAP receive a well-rounded education in which a faculty guarantees academic quality – 99% of whom have graduate degrees – that has ample knowledge and experience. UDLAP's faculty also devote time for research and artistic creation, and one of every three full-time professors belongs to Mexico's National Research System. UDLAP has only one campus that guarantees academic excellence and offers a necessary experience to its students. The labs, library, computer rooms, and classrooms have the latest technology, allowing students to transform their theoretical knowledge into practice, thus strengthening their abilities and competencies. Quality at UDLAP is backed by international accreditations, such as the one granted by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) since 1959. This accreditation has been ratified to its highest level, UDLAP being one of only two universities outside the United States to have a level 6, on a par with that country's quality standards. The International Accreditation Board accredits the Civil, Industrial, Mechanical, and Mechatronic Engineering programs for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The Food Engineering program is accredited by the International Food Technology (IFT). In Mexico, the Mexican Federation for Private Higher Education Institutions (Federación de Instituciones Mexicanas Particulares de Educación Superior - FIMPES) has given an outright accreditation to UDLAP, the highest possible recognition. Also, close to 100% of study programs that can be accredited have been or are in the process of being accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (Consejo para la Acreditación de la Educación Superior - COPIES). Excellence at UDLAP has also translated into recognition in national rankings, such as in the one made by "El Universal," a newspaper. It has been cataloged as one of the best private universities in Mexico since 2012. At an international level, UDLAP is the only one-campus university in Latin America to have five stars overall from QS Stars in 2017, earning five stars in teaching, internationalization, inclusion, infrastructure, and employability. UDLAP alumni's success is noticeable: 50% of them have started to work or started a business before graduation, and over 90% of graduates who choose to work have a job in the first six months. Art and culture are an essential part of UDLAP. The campus is on a former hacienda from the 18th century that houses a valuable art collection, part of the Google Art Project, thus becoming the only university in Latin America on this platform. On every given day of the year, a UDLAP student has access to various cultural events. The sum of knowledge and activities at UDLAP means that 93% of students rate their university experience as satisfactory or very satisfactory since university life allows them to form links with people of different ideologies, from different countries and cultures. Sports, integral wellbeing, art, and culture are critical elements at this institution. Likewise, this university's social commitment means that over 80% of students with an outstanding academic record have some form of scholarship. To participate in society's development by preparing critical, creative, and innovative professionals with the highest technical level and generating pertinent research. All this with a social conscience that demands a fair distribution of the benefits of globalization. To be a leading university in Latin America regarding study programs and scientific, cultural, sports, and public policy proposal programs to respond to globalization challenges. Universidad de las Américas Puebla was founded in 1940; it was known as Mexico City College in the nation's capital. To reflect the fraternity between the United States and Latin American countries, in the early 1960s, it changed its name to University of the Americas. By then, the prestige of its professors and research projects, such as the Oaxaca Archeology Program, positioned the university abroad and in Mexico as one of the best options for students who wanted an excellent education with a bicultural vision. In 1966, the Fundación Mary Street Jenkins assigned funds for the university to establish itself in the Cholula municipality, at the Santa Catarina Mártir hacienda, with over 80 hectares and located between the Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes. Now known as Universidad de las Américas Puebla, its innovative education project included the School of Arts and Science and opening the School of Engineering and the School of Administration and Business. The university received approval and official recognition from the federal Secretary of Public Education, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges - SACSCOC, and the business sector and area governments. In 1985, the university became independent, both legally and ideologically, from the Civil Association in Mexico City, and was now known as Fundación Universidad de las Américas, Puebla. Its philosophy was education with the human, scientific, and universal spirit, coupled with academic excellence and academic freedom. The university began to be considered as one of the most important private education institutions in the country. At UDLAP, history has taught us that an active conscience and community participation are essential to guarantee every member of the university's success. Therefore, each triumph and advance in the different disciplines and fields of knowledge positions it as a leader. In this sense, you cannot hear the name Universidad de las Américas Puebla without invoking, at the same time, the most significant victories of its Aztecas sports teams, which from the beginning have been outstanding in football, soccer, taekwondo, basketball, tennis, and athletics. Their participation has made the institution a leader in the CONADEIP Premiere League. Likewise, Aztecas have also excelled in the cultural area, presenting for society impeccable artistic shows: folkloric dance, dance, chamber music, opera, theater, cinema, and art exhibitions, to name a few of the most relevant activities the university has held on campus and in its cultural extensions, such the Capilla del Arte in downtown Puebla. Today, the classrooms of UDLAP's five Schools – Social Sciences, Humanities, Engineering, Science and Business, and Economics – have been modernized to meet the technological and scientific advances of our age. The modern laboratories, classrooms, sports facilities, library, IT, and university colleges have contributed to creating a favorable and privileged environment for students and faculty to learn and grow. Seventy-seven generations have studied at the university, excelling in research, scholarship, and consulting.
  24. The Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM) is one of the best universities, according to the QS Top 50 Under 50 international ranking. Our age faces many new challenges. To meet them, the Universidad de Monterrey encourages academic excellence and knowledge creation within an intercultural environment. The students are guided and motivated by our Personal Education Plan and our strong emphasis on student and faculty research. Our university model encourages students to discover their potential and capitalize on their strengths by developing various intellectual and social skills. By fostering personal growth, we equip our students to excel in the different aspects of life and transcendence themselves in others' service. The Universidad de Monterrey uses its many resources to provide young people the excellent education, the attitude of service, and the firm ethical convictions that characterize our graduates. UDEM is located on the limits of San Pedro Garza García and Santa Catarina, in the metropolitan area of Monterrey, the capital of Nuevo León. You can reach the UDEM campus by car or public transport. You can also use Directo UDEM and Circuito UDEM, school bus systems that offer several routes. It is a unique whole-person education model based on the development of leadership skills, the promotion of values, and the construction of a social conscience through service and international educational experiences. From its inception, the whole-person education of students has been a distinctive characteristic of UDEM. Therefore, the UDEM educational model integrates an academic component and a formative one. This model is unique: it offers a personalized education, promotes active learning, and comes alive with the accompaniment of teachers and trainers who, in addition to being experts in their specialty areas, interact closely and continuously with students during their time at the University.
