About Me

  1. Founded in 1904, Mosman Prep (fondly called) is renowned as a specialist preparatory school for boys. As the first Headmaster, 'Tibby' Yarnold said at the time, "I wish to establish a school of a good type where parents can confidently send their boys." Over the succeeding years, the school has provided an outstanding academic, social, and general education focused on boys' needs to prepare them for the future. Our slogan 'Educating for Tomorrow, Today' encapsulates a focus on being forward-looking in readiness for the complexities of the world in which the boys will live. The school is of a size where every boy is known personally. The school has two classes in each year group and nearly 300 students in the fourteen classes. A five day a week Program called Early Entry is available for four-year-olds. The Staff/pupil ratio is very favorable with smaller class sizes and Teacher Assistants in each class in each of the first four years of schooling. This is designed to help personalize education and maximize learning opportunities at a boy's point of need in his academic program. Mosman Prep fosters a comprehensive approach to education that emphasizes thinking, valuing & doing and occurs in a personalized Christian philosophy. This enables our boys to excel in academic and sporting pursuits and a wide range of expressive arts. We have preferred access arrangements with several Great Public Schools and another primary, secondary schools, including The Scots College, The Kings School, and Newington College. External measures of academic success abound. More than half our senior boys traditionally receive High Distinction, Distinction or Credit awards in the NSW University National English, Mathematics, Computing, and Science Competitions. Welcome to Mosman Prep, an Independent Preparatory School for boys. Mosman Prep is an exciting place of learning, challenge, and achievement where every boy has a valued place in the school community. There is a delicate balance here between tradition and making sure we are at the forefront of educational practice. We pride ourselves on a personal approach and focus on developing character and personal values to live by. It starts with getting to know each boy and their particular learning needs. It progresses by becoming a part of a supportive school community and establishing a strong sense of belonging - being a Mosman Prep boy. It develops further by entering a culture that is outward-looking and focused on each boy's achievements. Ask our 'Old Boys' what they valued most, and they will say that they learned a lot about the foundational values of life. I know because even after 20 years as Headmaster, this is what they are still telling me. View full school
  2. Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary is a young institution with a long tradition. The university was established in its present form in 1993 however its legal predecessors date back to 1839 and 1855. It is founded on the traditions of Reformed education, yet the university is open to professional innovation. Our nearly 8000 students can conduct their studies at four faculties which are the following: Faculty of Law, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Theology and Faculty of Teacher Training. The legal predecessor of our University was the Reformed Theological Academy of Budapest, founded in 1855 and granted University status by the Hungarian Parliament in 1990. In 1993 the General Assembly of the Reformed Church in Hungary took the decision to establish a university spanning a wide range of faculties, and this decision was approved later in the year on 21st September by the Parliament of the Republic of Hungary. Through the creation of Károli Gáspár University, the Reformed Church in Hungary has fulfilled the aims of its forefathers. Our University, in the spirit of the universitas scientiarum, aims to raise the status of not solely the Church, but also the nation, through its educational, teaching and academic work. ‘Without knowledge, my people will perish!’ – such was the cry of the Old Testament prophets and the Reformers in their sermons. It is impossible to imagine the effect that the legions of wandering university scholars with reformed beliefs, who made their way to Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, Scotland and later North America, have had on the Reformed Church and also on Hungarian culture. The spirit of Hungarian Protestantism is embodied in such individuals as Gáspár Károli, Gáspár Heltai, Albert Szenczi Molnar, Bálint Kocsi Csergő, János Apáczai Csere, Sándor Kőrösi Csoma, the Bolyais, and more recently, László Ravasz, István Bibó, Sándor Joo, and Endre Gyökössy, amongst others. Protestant schools and universities have, through the ages, paved the way for Reformed and Hungarian culture. They will continue to do so in the future. The commitment of Károli Gáspár University is to carry on the distinguished traditions of the Reformed Colleges of Sárospatak, Pápa, Debrecen, Kolozsvár and Nagyenyed. In addition to the education of ministers of religion, for the purposes of academic research, training for the position of lecturer and for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, and the awarding of degrees, its aims and objectives are to provide university – and college – level basic education in several fields and branches of scholarship, and to be capable of carrying out academic research, in accordance with the aforementioned traditions and in the spirit of the Reformation. In the spirit of the Biblical Word, the mission of the University is to educate young people consciously claiming the morals and spiritual values of Christianity, and to train professionals with up-to-date knowledge for the good of the nation, to serve Hungarians living in Hungary and outside our borders alike, first of all the reformed system of institutions and the reformed communities. Furthermore, the mission of the University is to encourage the academic and social cooperation of the protestant communities in Europe through the help of a centre in Hungary, and to increase the participation of the members of the Hungarian Reformed community in the intellectual and academic life. Through all this, the University contributes to the fulfilment of the Christian social mission of the Hungarian Reformed Church. Our university is a young and dynamic institution with rapidly developing international relations. It is a strategic aim of Károli University to further deepen and widen our network of international cooperation. Today, the university maintains bilateral contacts and cooperation agreements with almost 130 institutions of higher education from 35 countries in the world. Our partners are mostly European but we also have cooperation agreements with universities in Colombia, Japan, Korea and the USA. Cooperation agreements cover student and teacher exchange schemes, joint research and publication, as well as organising and providing courses for students. Within Europe, the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union plays a significant role in the cross-border cooperation while the university is also a member of the regional CEEPUS mobility programme. It also joined the new International Credit Mobility programme of the European Union, receiving exchange students from overseas universities. Furthermore, in the framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum programme launched by the Government of Hungary, thousands of students from all around the world can apply to Hungarian higher education institutions, including Károli Gáspár University as well. As a Christian university, Károli University actively seeks contact and cooperation with other Christian institutions of higher education. As a result, we have joined the IAPCHE (International Association for the Promotion of Christian Higher Education) and the CCCU (Council for Christian Colleges and Universities) as an international affiliate. We are also a member of the Refo500 international network that prepares for the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. On the 18th of September Rector Prof. Dr. Péter Balla – among representatives of other universities – in the framework of a signing ceremony has formally signed the Magna Charta Universitatum in Bologna. Thus Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary has joined the international higher-educational organisation, counting almost 800 members in more than 80 countries. 3. We are a Church of England Primary School in The Diocese of Southwark, where the Christian Ethos is at the heart of all that we achieve. St Jude’s Church of England Primary School exists to serve its community by providing education of the highest quality within a Christian framework of values and beliefs. We help children to achieve their full potential by fostering a sense of belonging, encouraging their determination, faith, respect, and love for each other, and teaching them the importance of being honest, selfless, and thankful. Staff at St. Jude’s are given everything they need to be the best they can. We have pride and energy because our workload is manageable and intelligently managed. We support each other, celebrate our achievements, and feel valued. Our strong leadership team ensures our staff is valued and equipped to do a brilliant job. We encourage honest, reflective communication to keep us improving. Because we are a small friendly school, children can develop a strong sense of belonging within our special community. Our curriculum is exciting and aspirational. It provides children with the opportunity to explore, enquire and reflect. Learners are challenged and supported throughout their learning journey and encouraged to complete mastery challenges. We have a broad and creative curriculum which is reflected in our half-termly topics. Children not only flourish academically but also through creative arts, music, and sport. Our aim is for our children to demonstrate resilience, confidence, and kindness and live out our Christian Values everywhere they go. At St Jude’s School, we plan to learn to be creative and exciting to meet the needs of all of the children. Topics are carefully planned to cover the New National Curriculum and always include trips and visits to inspire the children throughout their learning. Topics include “The circus is coming to town”, “Invaders” and “Chocoholics”. Children work in a variety of ways, as a class, in groups, pairs, or individually. The emphasis is always on the active and meaningful involvement of children in their learning. Support is provided for pupils who experience difficulties and to extend those who are ready for more challenges. All classes are well supported with a teaching assistant or higher level teaching assistant who works collaboratively with the class teacher to ensure children make excellent progress.
  4. St John’s is a Christian school that empowers everyone to fulfill their unique, God-given potential in a safe, caring, and creative learning environment. Through inclusive and inspirational teaching, we aim for every child to make rapid progress and succeed as a lifelong learner in an ever-changing world. We are very proud of our Christian foundation at St. John’s and seek to reflect this in everything we do. Our school is a community where all feel valued and included and we recognize that children learn most when they are happy, feel safe and confident as learners. Therefore, developing important life skills such as problem-solving, resilience, perseverance and independence is the bedrock of supporting all pupils to achieve their potential. It is upon this solid foundation that we develop the core skills of literacy, numeracy, and scientific understanding, applied within a wider, balanced curriculum offer. We recognize that learning happens through a range of activities and in differing contexts, and we encourage creative approaches to teach and learning that consider both pupil's academic starting points and their wider development needs. At St. John’s we share Core Christian Values that underpin everything we do. Each half term, we focus on one of these values and discover together how we can put it into practice. To help us we draw upon ideas from Christian Values 4 Schools to ensure a distinctively Christian approach. Each week, class teachers can nominate a pupil in their class who has been observed demonstrating the Christian value of the half-term within their behavior, relationships with others, or personal conduct. These pupils receive recognition in the form of a special certificate. We also try to link our Christian values, where we can, directly to Spiritual Moral Social, and Cultural education, British Values, and PHSE. See our map about how we seek to achieve this. St John’s CE Primary School continues to work very closely with the Church and is rapidly developing joint strategies to support the children and families we serve. We hope this will lead to further buildings and development works on both the school and Church sites, to cater for our ambitious and exciting plans. At St John’s we follow the National Curriculum throughout the school in EYFS, KS1, and KS2. Developing children’s literacy, numeracy and scientific skills is central to our planning and teaching. We then apply these skills across the curriculum finding cross-curricular links where possible. We aim for children to learn in meaningful contexts, independently and collaboratively. We encourage creativity and support the children in expressing themselves, in all areas of the curriculum, to develop their confidence and foster cooperation. Our curriculum is designed in terms of experiences and activities that will promote the continued growth of each child through the acquisition of knowledge, concepts, and key skills.

Primary School, we passionately believe that our children have the right to a broad and balanced curriculum. A curriculum that enables our pupils to be successful whilst enjoying learning, take an active part in their learning, make excellent progress and achieve well. Our curriculum integrates the requirements of the 2014 National Curriculum in a bespoke and engaging way. We firmly believe that an engaging and inspirational and creative curriculum can foster curiosity, a real passion, and a love for learning so that children may feel valued and develop into life-long learners, responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society. The curriculum is underpinned by a play-based approach where children have access to all areas of learning within the classroom and in the outside learning area. Children will at times be directly taught a new skill and at other times discover for themselves through carefully planned play opportunities. The curriculum is based on four themes: the unique child, positive relationships, enabling environments, and learning and development. Topics are planned in great detail to take account of children’s interests and skilfully link all the areas of learning. The children are continually observed and assessed by teachers and teaching assistants so that they progress rapidly towards achieving the ‘early learning goals. All staff members annually receive training on online safety to ensure that they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to support pupils. All pupils also receiving annual sessions on online safety. Along with this, the teaching of staying safe when using digital devices is incorporated into the daily lesson plans that are used when teaching subjects involving the use of digital technology. The Parents, Teachers, and Friends Association is open to anyone who is a Parent, Carer, or Teacher who would like to contribute to the wider life of the school. We provide volunteers and resources to school events like the origami club, Christmas Fair, International Day, Easter Disco, and Summer Fun Day. Our after-school picnics and family film nights have been a great success and enjoyed by all who attended, as were our annual Christmas and Summer bazaars, respectively. These events are great fun, with everyone pitching in to help, and they strengthen our school community as well as getting a lot done and raising money for the school in the process. To report a child's absence, you need to call the school no later than 9.15 am and either speak to a member of the admin team or use the automated attendant and leave a message on the pupil absence voicemail. When leaving a voicemail message, clearly state your name, your child's name, their class, and the reason for your absence. If your child is unwell for more than one day, you will need to phone the school each day your child is not well enough to attend school. We cannot assume that if your child is unwell and off school, that they automatically will be absent the following day.
  6. St John the Divine is a Church of England primary school which links with the surrounding communities in both Lambeth and Southwark. You will find our school in Camberwell, not far from the Oval. Our old Victorian building looks deceptively small from the Camberwell New Road entrance but hides a wealth of spaces that have been developed and adapted to enable us to provide a wide range of learning opportunities. Here at St John the Divine, we are a Christian learning community dedicated to providing the best educational experiences for our pupils. We aim to ensure that all of our children can achieve their full potential that they become successful learners, confident individuals and that they leave us ready for the next stage in their learning journey. The Governors and staff of St John the Divine Primary School fully recognize the responsibilities and duty placed upon them to have arrangements to promote the welfare of all pupils and ensure they are safeguarded from harm. We aim to create in our school: A secure, caring, and welcoming environment, which meets the needs of all learners and includes them in every aspect of school life. A stimulating and challenging environment fostering self-discipline and encouraging positive attitudes and behaviors. A commitment by Governors, staff, parents, pupils, and visitors to do what is in the best interest of the school community. The opportunity for all pupils through the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and the National Curriculum, to develop their potential following their abilities, interests, and aspirations. We believe that the partnership between home and school is central to meeting these aims. As parents and carers, we encourage you to take an active role in your child’s education throughout their time here at St John's. We believe that the partnership between home and school is central to meeting these aims. As parents and carers, we encourage you to take an active role in your child’s education throughout their time here at St John's. At St John the Divine we aim to provide children with a broad and balanced curriculum which develops curiosity and fosters a life-long love of learning. We follow the National Curriculum, finding as many opportunities to enrich children’s learning. We aim, where possible to base learning around a topic or a theme, as we believe that this enables children to make logical connections and deepen their understanding. Here at St John the Divine Primary School we believe that children learn best in an environment where they feel secure and valued, where there is a partnership between school and home, and where children can learn by doing rather than being told. We believe that children need to experience a wide variety of first-hand, practical learning opportunities to enable them to achieve their full potential. We endeavor to build on each child’s previous experiences, ensuring equal access to the curriculum, through offering children opportunities to experiment through well-planned, appropriate activities and quality play, both indoors and outdoors. St John the Divine Church of England Primary School serves a diverse, open, and accepting community. Here at St John's, everyone is committed to the values espoused within the Gospels. As modern British values have evolved from a time when we were historically Christian, our Gospel values and British values are fundamentally the same. Through the teaching of our curriculum, we believe in and promote core British values including democracy, respect, tolerance, acceptance, peace, being non-judgmental, humility, justice, the rule of the law, the dignity of each human being, and individual liberty, forgiveness, generosity, fairness, discipline, and hope. St John's promotes 'Prevent' to all stakeholders. Prevent forms part of our culture of safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all of our children.
  7. St. John’s School is an inclusive community of children, staff, parents, governors, friends, and colleagues. Everyone works together to provide the best quality education for all children and to equip them with the confidence to embrace our ever-changing world. Within the context of Christian belief and practice, we aim to serve the community by providing an education of the highest quality. Faith is very important to us and we endeavor to live out our Christian values of Creativity, Honesty, Resilience, Independence, Supportiveness, Talents, Inclusion, Achievement, and Neighborliness in our everyday lives. Most of all, it is our children who make St. John’s a special place, and we are proud of all their achievements. We work hard to foster a secure and enjoyable environment that excites, challenges, and motivates each child, enabling them to reach their full potential. Our school motto of ‘Love to Learn and Learn to Love’ is at the center of everything we do. During their time at St. John’s, we want all our children to develop a real love and thirst for learning which will remain with them for their entire lives. We believe that an exciting curriculum is essential for children to be inspired in their learning and we work hard to make our curriculum irresistible. Through cross-curricular Contexts for Learning, we ensure that there is a clear purpose and setting for children’s learning and that they will have many memorable experiences during their time at St. John’s. We work hard to make strong connections between all areas of learning and especially have strong Literacy links into each of our contexts for learning. This is especially important as it is a rule which Jesus gave to all Christians as a guide to how they live their lives. Everyone in the school tries to follow this in all aspects and areas of their lives.
  8. St John`s Angell Church of England Primary School is a one-form entry, an inner-city school situated in Brixton in Lambeth. The school has one class per year from reception to year 6, with a total of 30 children in each class. There is a nursery that offers part-time places, with some full-time places offered to those children with particular needs. We are very proud of our happy, vibrant, and inclusive school. All the staff is committed to our Christian ethos, which influences how the school functions. We aim to provide high-quality teaching and learning in an environment that cares for and supports the individual. Children with particular learning, behavior or emotional needs are excellently supported both in the classroom and by our inclusion team. Children and adults alike enjoy coming to school each day. The children learn in a stimulating, caring, and supportive environment enabling them to make good progress and achieve well. Our creative curriculum reflects the interests and strengths of our children. St John's Angell Town Church of England school provides a happy, secure, and stimulating learning environment where Christian values are embraced by all. Our mission is 'LEARNING TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE THROUGH FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE'We aim to achieve our mission statement by: Reflecting the teachings of Jesus Christ in our daily lives. 9. St James' C of E School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Working together, striving for excellence, we can make our school a place that truly belongs amongst the best there is. We believe that it is very important at St. James' to have a curriculum that is relevant to the interests of our children, that grabs their attention and that is adapted to their needs. For this reason, the curriculum may change over the year. A Geography unit planned for the summer term may be changed or adapted as the needs and interests of the children develop over the year. Whenever a change occurs, the updated document will be posted below. Parents will always be sent a letter at the start of the half term, outlining what subjects are being taught during that period. At St James’ C of E Primary School, we believe in the concept of the learning community and lifelong learning. Through our teaching, we aim to equip children with the skills, knowledge, and understanding necessary to become independent learners, with the ability to make informed choices about the important things in their lives. We believe that appropriate learning and teaching experiences help children to continue to develop and explore their potential. Our SEND provision allows pupils with learning difficulties the opportunity to follow a curriculum specifically tailored to develop life skills and to give pupils self-confidence through their learning thus enabling them to maximize their potential and to work independently. We are committed to narrowing the attainment gap between SEND and non-SEND pupils. This may include short-term intervention learning programs, before and after school skills groups and other learning interventions developed to personalize learning. We have very good attendance as pupils want to come to school to experience our high-quality learning provision. Respect runs through our school and is central to the way that we treat each other. It is through these core ideals that we can promote British values. Democracy is highly visible within the school. Pupils have the opportunity to have their voices heard through our Pupil Parliament and Pupil questionnaires. The Pupil Parliament is a particular focus this year, highlighted in the School Development Plan. They have already delivered an Anti-Bullying assembly, identified opportunities to raise money for charity, and supported the Friends of St James Christmas Disco. Once a year we complete a PASS survey, gathering the views of all children on a range of topics, including their attitudes to school, learning, and themselves. The importance of Laws, whether they be those that govern the class, the school, or the country, are consistently reinforced throughout regular school days, as well as when dealing with behavior and through school assemblies. Pupils are taught the value and reasons behind rules, that they govern and protect us, the responsibilities that this involves, and the consequences when rules are broken. Visits from authorities, such as when the Police came to talk to the school on the issue of dangerous parking, help reinforce this message. Within school, pupils are actively encouraged to make choices, knowing that they are in a safe and supportive environment. As a school, we educate and provide boundaries for young pupils to make choices safely, through the provision of a safe environment and empowering education. Pupils are encouraged to know, understand and exercise their rights and personal freedoms and advise how to exercise these safely, for example through our E-Safety and PSHE lessons. Whether it be through choice of challenge, of how they record, or participation in our extra-curricular clubs and opportunities, pupils are given the freedom to make choices. Underpinning our school ethos and behavior policy is the notion of “Love your neighbor as yourself”, and pupils have been part of discussions and assemblies related to what this means and how it is shown. The key to this idea is that of mutual respect, and this is discussed regularly in class and during assemblies. Children are encouraged to think about what respect means and how to show it, while also being asked why it is important. This is achieved through enhancing pupils' understanding of their place in a culturally diverse society and by giving them opportunities to experience such diversity. Assemblies and discussions involving prejudices and prejudice-based bullying have been followed and supported by learning in RE and PSHE. We are lucky to have a very diverse school population and encourage children to talk about their family backgrounds warmly and positively. This can be seen in many ways at school, from the way that children interact with each other, to the annual Eid and Diwali parties we hold at school to celebrate these festivals. The Friends of St James' is a group made up of parents and friends from the school and the local community. We love organizing things to do for the children and families of our school. We aim to help the school by raising some money to provide exciting opportunities for the school children. With the money raised from our last Summer Fair, we have enabled the school to run a trip to the seaside for the whole school.
  10. St James is a sponsored academy, becoming part of the SS Simon and Jude Multi Academy Trust T/A Vantage Academy Trust family on 1st March 2015. At the heart of our vision is a shared curriculum and approach to teaching and learning across our schools. The International Primary Curriculum and its eight learning goals are deeply embedded across all of our academies – providing both rigor and internationally recognized standards for all pupils. As a trust, we are deeply committed to improving outcomes for all children and supporting schools with a history of underperformance to become both inspirational and safe places in which to learn. We do this by investing in and developing exceptional teachers, leaders, and support staff building strong relationships with parents and our local communities providing inspirational learning environments, and demonstrating high expectations for every school and every child across the trust. Here at St James, we encourage children to understand our Christian values Generosity, Compassion, Courage, Forgiveness, Friendship, Respect, Thankfulness, Trust, Perseverance, Justice, Service, and Truthfulness. We promote Christian values through the celebrations such as Christmas, Easter, and Harvest, and prayer and reflection. Through reflection and prayer, we also work to take each child on their faith journey. The curriculum is ‘what will be taught. The Government has slimmed these requirements down to enable schools to add areas they feel children need for their development. At Gorton Primary School we deliver the International Primary Curriculum as part of our curriculum provision which is closely matched to the NC requirements. The International Primary Curriculum (IPC) is an internationally-minded curriculum that is used in several countries around the world. The IPC provides opportunities for global learning – allowing pupils and staff to make links. The goal of the IPC is to nurture a love of learning through a combination of academic, personal, and international learning. Children will develop many skills which they will need to face the world of tomorrow confidently. ST James adopted the IPC in 2015 and we form part of a global learning community that uses the IPC to improve children’s learning. Children at St James learn through a series of units of work, of which there are over 130 to choose from. Each unit is carefully selected to meet the needs of our school community. The units of work have a theme which children are interested in and relevant to today’s world. Children learn many of the subjects through the theme so that their learning has meaning to them. The units of work have suggested tasks linked to learning objectives however the nature of the curriculum allows staff to be creative and focus upon the needs of our children. The development of skills is a very large part of the IPC learning activities at St James has been designed so that our children develop these important lifelong skills. The IPC has a self-review process that sits alongside the curriculum. The core purpose of the self-review is to allow schools to review and improve the way that IPC is delivered in their school. The beating heart of any educational establishment is learning. Learning can take place in many forms – academically, socially, spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Our curriculum provides all our children to learn and develop in many ways. Nobody can predict the nature of work and life opportunities that will be available to our children in the future. Indeed many of the jobs of the future do not even exist today. The IPC has a strong focus upon a skills-based approach to prepare all children for the fast-changing world in which they will be living in. At St James, we encourage active and cooperative learning. Learning is central to all we do. Not only do our staff have a responsibility to ensure that our children learn and develop but we also encourage our children to take responsibility for their learning. Parents also play a significant part. We ensure that at the start of a unit of work, parents are informed about what their children will be learning and suggest ways in which they can play an active role in their child’s development. Work is celebrated and shared throughout the year with parents and the school community. The Department for Education states that there is a need “to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect, and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.” Here at St James, we are dedicated to promoting British Values and ensuring we prepare our pupils to be global citizens of the future. Here at St James, we have a dedicated SEND team who work hard to support our children who have special educational needs or disabilities. Within our school is a special educational needs resource provision (The Blue Lagoon) that supports children with autism and specific language impairments. The provision was set up in 2011 and can support 7 children.
  11. Welcome to St. Cleopas Church of England Primary School. We are a happy, inclusive, Christian school located at the heart of the Dingle near central Liverpool. We are lucky to have wonderful views of the River Mersey and beautiful grounds for our children to play and learn in. Our ethos is based on finding ways of understanding each other and different cultures and finding different ways of speaking to God and learning to know Him. Our school has close links with our community and parish and enjoys the benefit of dedicated and talented staff, supportive parents, and experienced, hard-working governors. We are an Eco-Friendly School. Primary school is the start of an amazing journey in a child’s life, and we believe in being a haven where every child is valued, listened to, and supported. Our motto, written by the children, is Live, Laugh, Learn – these are all important aspects of growing up with a healthy attitude to life. We want our children and every person connected to our school to leave us with a thorough understanding of their abilities and the tools to help them succeed in the future. Our Awards: Liverpool Dyslexia Friendly School, Fairtrade, Investors in People, Liverpool Inclusion Charter Mark, Activemark, Arts Council, Quality Mark. St Cleopas Receives Highest Eco Award. St Cleopas recently became one of only 1,415 schools in the U.K. to receive the prestigious Green Flag Award from Eco-Schools. Eco-Schools is an international award program that guides schools on their sustainable journey, providing a framework to help embed these principles into the heart of school life. They felt that in our school children are the driving force behind Eco-Schools – they lead the eco-committee and help carry out an audit to assess the environmental performance of their school. Through consultation with the rest of the school and the wider community, it is the pupils that decide which environmental themes they want to address and how they are going to do it. We have received the National Healthy Schools Award. We want all of our pupils to be healthy and achieve in school and life. The National Healthy Schools Programme has four core themes: Personal, social, and health education - Healthy eating - Physical activity - Emotional health and wellbeing, including bullying. Each theme includes several criteria that we had to fulfill to achieve National Healthy School Status. Early Years Foundation Stage consists of the Nursery and Reception class. Within this department, an Early Years curriculum is followed focusing on the children’s development in seven areas of learning. They are: Personal, Social, and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Communication + Language, Mathematics, Literacy, Expressive Arts and Design, Understanding the World.
  12. The children and staff of St. Chrysostom’s welcome you heartily to our wonderful school. We are a Christian school serving a colorful and diverse local community. We deeply value and actively celebrate the many religions and cultures housed within our school. St.Chrysostom’s is a thoroughly inclusive school every child is engaged, enthused, and challenged to meet their full potential. Our children leave St. Chrysostom’s as independent learners with a rich curiosity in the world, having achieved high expectations academically, and developed their spiritual, moral, social, and cultural learning. At St. Chrysostom’s, we are passionate about providing all of our children with a creative and exciting curriculum, which captures their interest, inspires them to learn, and aspire to achieve highly. Our curriculum promotes respect, tolerance, and diversity. Children are encouraged to express themselves through discussions, debates, and consultations. The RE (Religious Education), PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education), Citizenship, and SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural) provision is embedded across the curriculum and underpins the ethos of our school. Children learn about all major faiths and visit places of worship wherever possible. They are also taught about how to stay safe when using the internet. Although serious incidents involving radicalization have not occurred at St Chrysostom’s to date, it is important for us to be constantly vigilant and remain fully informed about the issues which affect the region in which we teach. All staff is fully aware of the school’s safeguarding procedures and know-how to refer any concerns through the Child Protection/Safeguarding Lead Teachers. At St. Chrysostoms our vision is for all pupils to become confident and motivated: enabling all to reach their full potential as children of God and responsible citizens skilled for the 21st century. Every child deserves to enjoy school life. Through our values, we create a safe, inclusive and caring environment in which all learners can thrive. We are in the process of updating our website with our own school’s admissions policy. This will be available soon. Until then, and beyond you are still free to access the link below for admissions advice from the council. The Department of Education has recently reinforced the need “to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect, and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.”The Government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy, and these values have been reiterated by the Prime Minister this year. At the St. John Chrysostom Federation, we are proud of our safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment, where every member of our community is valued and respected. Our broad, balanced and creative curriculum provides opportunities for everyone to succeed. We celebrate our achievements, gifts, and cultural diversity, irrespective of individual differences within the protected categories of the Equality Act of 2010. This policy describes the way we meet the needs of children who experience barriers to learning. We recognize that many pupils, at some time in their school life, may experience difficulties that affect their learning. We aim to identify these needs as they arise, and seek to respond by providing teaching and learning opportunities, that enable every child to achieve their potential. The life of our heart affects the whole of our life. What’s in our hearts will always be played out. What we put into our hearts will affect what we put our hearts into. Our lives will be greater or worse, more courageous or more fearful by what’s in our hearts. Therefore, learning about how to lead our heart, when to lead from our heart, how to process pain, how to hope, and how to love others is essential in learning about how to live. This is what HEART SMART is. It’s a powerful toolkit that helps us to live with emotional intelligence and self-mastery. We start by because we are unique, that we’re one in a million, and above all that we’re loved. It’s where we start in HEART SMART because it’s where we start in life. We all begin our days with the need to know that we are loved and safe4. This is the foundational truth to HEART SMART, if we don’t love ourselves it’s hard, some may say impossible, to move on showing love to others. Don’t Forget To Let Love In helps us value ourselves by understanding that we are valued. We discover that we’re not trash, we’re a treasure, we’re not pointless we have purpose and because of love we always get a second chance. At St Chrysostom’s democracy is taken very seriously. Children are actively encouraged to have a voice and share their views and opinions regularly. Our active school council is one such example. We hold an election in the Autumn term where the children in Year 2-6 vote for two class representatives. The school council meets regularly to discuss ideas and issues important to the children and the school. Every child also contributes their ideas to the composition of their class charter every year. This sets ground rules for classroom conduct and establishes the standards of behavior children can expect from each other over the year ahead. All children also complete an annual questionnaire which provides them with the opportunity to share their views on learning at St Chrysostom’s and suggest ways in which the school could be improved further. The importance of laws, whether they be those that govern the class, the school, or the country, are consistently reinforced throughout the school day, as well as when dealing with behavior and through school assemblies. Children are taught the value and reasons behind laws, that they govern and protect us, the responsibilities that this involves, and the consequences when laws are broken. Our school's rules, rewards, and sanctions, which are displayed in all classrooms, are referred to regularly and consistently upheld. Within school, children are actively encouraged to make decisions and choices, knowing that they are in a safe and supportive environment. As a school, we educate and provide boundaries for children to take risks and make choices safely. Children are encouraged to know, understand and exercise their rights and personal freedoms and advised how to exercise these safely, for example through our E-Safety and PSHE lessons. Whether it be through choice of learning challenge, how they record their learning, participation in one of our extra-curricular clubs, children are given the freedom to make choices and make decisions.
  13. Welcome to the St Ann’s Church of England Primary School situated in South Tottenham, London. St Ann's School aims to provide a Christian context for learning that is caring, stable, and academically challenging. It is our wish that the whole school community develops a love of learning. We will strive to provide all involved with the necessary skills and opportunities, to take an active role in learning, to reach their full potential. The school and wider community will work together to show respect and care for each other and the environment. St. Ann’s School aims to provide a Christian context for learning that is caring, stable, and academically challenging. It is our wish that the whole school community develops a love of learning and an understanding of our Christian values. School aims: We are committed to providing a secure and stable environment with shared expectations of the children’s conduct. We feel that a settled and calm environment is essential if meaningful learning is to take place. We aim to provide continuity and progression in the children’s learning. We are aware of the requirements of the National Curriculum and would encourage our children to achieve the highest individual standards, through the use of differentiated learning strategies. This will be achieved by targeted interventions. We aim to develop in each child a sense of self-worth, and an awareness of his/her importance in the school and the local community. Through the Christian life of the school, we aim to give the children an understanding of moral values, other faiths, and cultures particularly in their relationships with others. Our Foundation Values are central to the mission of the school and underpin our Collective worship. Each half term we break down these values into weekly thoughts and prayers drawing inspiration from the relevant Bible reading. Children who have been entered into the 'Gold Book' for outstanding learning or behavior three times in a term receive a 'Gold Certificate' in Celebration Assembly to which their family is invited. The school aims to cater for the all-around development of each child - intellectual, physical, spiritual, moral, and social -and to help each child to achieve self-discipline and self-respect as well as respect for others, in a secure environment of Christian love and care. The school teaches to the National Curriculum programs of study and attainment targets. We have introduced the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) to help deliver the curriculum excitingly and engagingly. The Nursery and Reception classes belong to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Children learn through play and exploration, active learning, and creating & thinking critically. There are three prime areas of learning: personal, social & emotional development physical development & communication & language. KS1 classes (Year 1 and Year 2) follow the National Curriculum, with emphasis on reading, writing, speaking & listening, mathematics and science. They use units from Milepost 1 of the IPC. KS2 follows the National Curriculum, with an emphasis on English, maths, and science. Years 3 & 4 use units from Milepost 2 of the IPC, whereas Years 5 & 6 use units from Milepost 3. To achieve these principles St Ann's teaches children Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Children are taught a range of science topics in line with the National Curriculum which links to Geography, History, and Art units from the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). This is a challenging curriculum that focuses explicitly on children’s learning. The structure of the IPC is based on subject, personal, and internationally-minded learning goals and unique units of work that help children acquire knowledge, skills, and understanding in an active, exciting and involved classroom. The aim is to help each child to be able to read fluently and with understanding so that reading becomes a source of real pleasure and enjoyment. Reading is a complex skill that is taught thoroughly and systematically at St Ann’s. We start developing a love of reading in the Nursery by introducing an exciting range of books to the children. They learn to love and know key authors by making props for stories, acting out stories, and enjoying the fun and rich language of stories. All children take books home from their classroom to share with parents in every year group. Learning with the IPC takes a global approach helping children to connect their learning to where they are living now as well as looking at the learning from the perspective of other people in other countries.
  14. St Andrew’s is a very welcoming school and we are known for our friendly, family atmosphere. All children have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and we regularly work in partnership with professional artists and musicians. This year we are, once again, working in partnership with the Royal Opera House to deliver their highly successful ‘Chance to Dance’ project. We promote enjoyment for learning and encourage children to be independent, reflective learners through the development of thinking skills.

We will continue to work closely with Holy Trinity in the year to come and hope to bring the successes of this school to our new school serving the people of Harrow. Our vision is to provide an outstanding Church of England primary school education for all our children and to extend the opportunity for an excellent bilingual education beyond the private sector. This means: An inspiring curriculum An inspiring learning environment A relentless focus on communication in all its forms, in English and French Outstanding achievement and progress in all aspects of the English National Curriculum Outstanding quality of teaching High standards of behavior Christian values to develop character and foster a sense of belonging Children discovering and developing new talents and interests Nobody being left behind Reflective and resourceful learners Children who are personally, socially, and academically ready for a smooth transition to secondary school and a successful future Excellent sports provision Children who are confident about their own identity and feel connected to the local, national and international community to which they belong As a designated Church of England School, we will have a Christian ethos but we will welcome children of all faiths and none. We will promote integration amongst all people of all different cultures and backgrounds, both within the school and in the wider community. Learning Francophile cultures and customs will give children a second way to see the world and help develop them as engaged global citizens. Within the ethos of the school, the beliefs and practices of other faiths will be respected. Religious Education will reflect the diversity of the local community and promote reflection and spiritual, moral, and cultural development.
  16. Quinton Church Primary School converted to an Academy in 2017 joining the Barchelai Multi Academy Trust. The school is situated on the south-western edge of Birmingham. We are a popular school with a family atmosphere, lying at the heart of the community we serve and one which is regularly over-subscribed. The school is set on its grounds in a wider campus that includes Christ Church and its grounds. At Quinton Church Primary we aim to give our pupils the very best education and experiences possible as we know that children flourish and learn best when they feel safe and happy. We want our children to achieve the very best they can and be full and rounded citizens of the future. Working alongside the local community will only further enhance what the school already provides and for this reason we welcome any volunteers and support that people may wish to provide. We are a popular school with a family atmosphere, lying at the heart of the community it serves and one which is regularly over-subscribed. At Quinton Church Primary School we aim to enable all children to value faith through the Christian values that lie at the heart of our school. The school received a 'good' grade in both the OFSTED and the SIAS (church school) inspections in 2012. The admission limit is 30 children in each class. There is one Reception (Foundation Stage) class, two Key Stage 1 classes, and four Key Stage 2 classes with around 210 children on roll. The school is a member of the Quinborne Cluster of primary schools in the Quinton area whose aim is to raise standards of teaching and learning in the community. All our staff, governors, and partners associated with the school share and work towards the same vision, which is: ‘Together with Christ, striving to achieve the best for every child’. School Aims: To give every child opportunities to grow spiritually and to learn about following Christ. To provide a stimulating environment in which each child is given the opportunity of achieving their potential in all areas of learning and experience. To foster the development of knowledge, skills, and understanding which relates to national and local educational legislation and advice. To monitor the progress of each child and respond to their needs. To take the opportunity of promoting Christian influences on the attitude and behavior of all those connected with the school. To encourage the children to adopt a sense of responsibility for their behavior, a caring attitude towards each other, and a concern for the world in which we live. To encourage a sense of mutual trust and partnership between all those connected with the school. In the Birmingham community, cohesion means working towards a society in which strong and positive relationships exist and continue to be developed in schools, in the workplace, and in the wider community. This is achieved through shared values which would include: the valuing of democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, tolerance, and mutual respect of people’s backgrounds and circumstances promoting equal opportunities and challenging discrimination, all of which is based on the Equality Act 2010 and is non-negotiable.
  17. Our school was founded in 1828. We are a voluntary aided 1-form entry Church of England school with 210 children aged 4 to 11. We embrace strong links with the churches of St Mary’s, St Annes, and St Agnes and actively promote an open Christian ethos, encapsulated by our motto ‘Every Child Matters to God’. We set ourselves high targets and have high standards. We aim to make learning enjoyable, allowing every individual to achieve their best and to nurture their talents, as well as giving them confidence, security, and the skills they will need to be excellent citizens in a multi-cultural society and part of the workforce of the future. Moseley C of E has a truly dedicated team of pupils, staff, parents, and Governors who all go above and beyond expectation to continue to improve and develop our school and the community it serves. This was recognized most recently in our Outstanding OFSTED report (December 2013) and our Outstanding SIAMS report (March 2014). We have achieved consistently excellent results in Maths, Reading, and Writing. In 2016, we were placed 17th in the country for consistently high results between 2013-2015. Our KS2 data for 2016 placed us in the top 2% of all primary schools in England (DfE Primary Performance Tables). The hard work by pupils, the provision of creative and stimulating learning environments that are tailored to each child's individual needs, and our home-school partnerships are the reasons for this achievement. We provide a curriculum that is truly broad, enriched, and challenging. In addition to core subjects, we teach Foundation subjects through the IPC (International Primary Curriculum). This encompasses local, national, and global understanding of the world in which we live. Throughout the year we also run specialist weeks in Creative Arts, Heritage, British Values, Science and Sports, and Health. Our successful Christian school offers a wide range of exciting and educational opportunities to enhance skills, talents, and creativity. The school community appreciates and accepts others, and celebrates the achievements of all. We have supportive and trusting relationships with God and all his children. As a result, we take responsibility and welcome absolutely everyone into a caring and safe environment, where we are all guided to work together.
  18. The College of Catholic Church Music and Musical Education in Regensburg (HfKM) is an internationally leading educational institution for church music. Its 170 students currently come from 12 countries around the world. The College's focus has always been an artist as well as a pedagogical orientation towards education, in which church music students are also prepared for their liturgical and pastoral responsibilities in the changing structures of deaneries and parishes. Based on the great significance of the liturgy for the church's life, it is obvious how necessary it is to develop church musicians and music educators who are prepared for their occupations in the artistic and pedagogical sense and about their entire lives. The close connection between study and life at the College of Catholic Church Music and Musical Education in Regensburg (HfKM) offers the best conditions for such preparation, in addition to the educational opportunities at large state colleges and universities. When HfKM College was established, it adhered to the standards that also apply to other music colleges. About the College's competitiveness, we wanted to strive toward parity, not uniformity. Main criteria include the respective state regulations and the requirements cited in the regulatory statutes of the Apostolic Constitution Sapientia Christiana (Art. 45 ib Ord) and the applicable regulations of the Bavarian State Ministry for Sciences, Research, and Arts. The College's structure and its relation to its church trustees are established in its constitution and in the study and examination regulations, which also follow the Apostolic Constitution's requirements. A community of young people who strive toward the same career goal makes it much easier to grow into church music-based and educational service. Regular, joint church services hone a keen sense for liturgical work concerts where students from all major subjects participate uniquely promote artistic growth. St. Andreas's Parish Church has served as a college church since 1976, and our concert hall offers ideal conditions for both. In Regensburg's city and region, there is a wide variety of cultural offerings that are both utilized and enriched by the College. The Church Music School of Regensburg is established by Franz Xaver Haberl and becomes the first Catholic church music school in the world. It has enjoyed international prominence beyond the German-speaking world since its inception. Bishop Antonius von Henle takes over the school as a "church foundation." Prince Regent Luitpold grants the foundation—which today is known as the Church Music School Foundation of Regensburg (Stiftung Kirchenmusikschule Regensburg)—state accreditation. By decree of the academic congregation, following a temporary decree from 1959, the Church Music School of Regensburg becomes permanently affiliated with the "Pontificio Istituto di Musica Sacra" in Rome. After being accredited in 1967 by the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture, it is retroactively transformed into the "Academy of Catholic Church Music and Musical Education" as of 1 January 1973. Cooperation agreements from the years 1989 and 1999 with the College for Music and Theatre in Munich enable the administration of degree examinations. The "Church Music School Foundation of Regensburg" ("Stiftung Kirchenmusikschule Regensburg") changes its statutes through a decision of its foundation board and upon permission of the Bishop of Regensburg in order to adapt them to the new purpose of the foundation and the institution's legal position as a church foundation under public law. Upon agreement with the Bavarian and German Bishops' Conference and with the Congregation for Catholic Education in Rome, the Most Reverend Bishop of Regensburg, Manfred Müller, on his 75th birthday, the Festival of St. Albertus Magnus, Bishop of Regensburg, signs the decree for the establishment of the "College for Catholic Church Music and Musical Education of Regensburg" with sponsorship from the "Church Music School Foundation of Regensburg" ("Stiftung Kirchenmusikschule Regensburg"). On the festival of the patron saint of church music, St. Cecilia, a Pontifical Mass and ceremonial act take place on the occasion of the College of Catholic Church Music and Musical Education of Regensburg. Completion of the total refurbishment of the College and, at the same time, enhancement of its church-music and music-education related profile through the implementation of the European Academic Reform (Bachelor's/Master's Degrees). Church Music (with a concentration in an artistic core subject starting in the 5th semester), Conducting/Choir Direction, Instrumental Pedagogy (Organ, Harpsichord, Piano, Violin, Viola, Violoncello, Flute, and Recorder), a concert subject (Organ, Harpsichord), Vocal Pedagogy. This study is based on instructional collaboration in artistic, scientific, and practical mediation fields between the University and the College of Music. It can be pursued in a music/non-music subject combination (Gyv) or intensively in two music subjects (God). After completing an aptitude test, young talents can be accepted permanently until they have received their school-leaving certificate. We allow guest auditors to take two semesters of private lessons in one subject and participate in theoretical subjects upon completing an assessment test. View full university

Because a website can't convey the spirit that makes Grace Church School what it is or the warmth of feeling that keeps us together, we invite you to visit Grace. Consider how our approach matches what you want for your child. Typical values are the core of family-school relationships. They make our GCS community a thriving, energetic, caring place where committed teachers and eager students are absorbed in the exciting process of learning and growing. Grace Church School aims to establish in its students firmly rooted confidence in themselves and their abilities. Because we believe that school experience sets the foundation for lifelong intellectual and social growth, we strive to develop in each student mental keenness, physical confidence, pleasure in learning, and the skills necessary to understand oneself and the world. Our structured curriculum, enriched with broad opportunities for creative expression, assumes as fundamental the mastery of a specific range of academic skills, especially the ability to express one's ideas and appraise others' ideas. Yet the educational goals of the school are broader than intellectual and social development. We nurture our students a steady, affectionate trust in themselves and their world, made resilient by interacting with different ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic influences. We strive to help each student develop an active ethical consciousness, supported by close acquaintance with Judeo-Christian beliefs and enhanced by the beauty and faith inherent in Grace Church. Since its founding, Grace Church School has integrated ethical consciousness and academic excellence by addressing students' moral, personal, and spiritual development as naturally as we promote their intellectual and cognitive growth. We believe that leadership, critical thinking, and creativity develop best in tandem with integrity, compassion, and care for others. We are an intentionally inclusive community where reverence for each individual's dignity informs all aspects of school life. The Episcopal school tradition recognizes each human being's unique, intrinsic worth, bestowed upon each by a loving God. In this spirit, we welcome, openly and with warmth, families of all faiths and no faith at all. We seek a rich diversity of students, families, faculty, and staff and strive to instill in our students a deep respect for differences in race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, and culture. We expect that Grace Church School students will live these ideals, honoring our shared humanity with kindness, respect, and love. Grace has a long tradition of high academic expectations, which prepare students to excel in future academic pursuits. The curriculum is designed around a "three-legged stool." Each leg works with the others to build a foundation for the curricular and pedagogical decisions that define a Grace education. The first leg of the stool is that the school seeks traditional outcomes. We believe there are things you need to know and things you need to know how to do. As students progress through the school, they take classes in traditional academic areas: English, mathematics, history/social studies, science, foreign languages including Latin, philosophy and ethics, technology, physical education, and the performing and visual arts. The final leg of the stool is a pedagogy of joy. Students who have a positive self-concept are going to be more effective and happier. Students who feel connected – to other students, teachers, coaches, and parents – feel safe, which provides an essential ingredient for student success. Students need to have a sense of fulfillment, in that what they do is meaningful to them and others. When these three things happen for students, they are joyful learners. 21. An independent college preparatory school in the Episcopal tradition with a carefully coordinated P(K)-12 curriculum, Christ Church Episcopal School is one of the Greenville, SC area's most prestigious academic institutions. However, the CCES experience encompasses much more than educational endeavors, providing students opportunities to fulfill their social, physical, and spiritual potential. As an independent school, CCES offers a truly unique educational experience. Small classes, dedicated faculty, and well-rounded programs help create a supportive yet challenging environment where students can learn, grow, and excel. The P(K)-12 academic curriculum's continuity allows students to seamlessly transition from the child-centered classrooms of the Lower School to the more independent nature of the Middle School to the academically rigorous atmosphere in the Upper School. These components come together to develop the foundation for each student's future far beyond the classroom. At CCES, academic performance is not the sole measure of success. From our 47 diverse athletic teams to our variety of unique service-learning projects to our extensive selection of clubs & extracurriculars, each student can engage in activities that speak to their interests and skills. Our carefully planned programs also foster fundamental characteristics such as leadership, creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, and other traits that prepare each student for a lifetime of success. We offer coherence: a faith foundation that puts knowledge into the perspective of service to humanity lineal connections in subject areas from Primer through the senior year of high school that ensure developmental growth, a code of conduct, and a set of principles permeate all that we do and say. Our core values character, community, excellence, and service-suffuse the P-12 life of the school. We honor our Episcopal tradition and believe that we serve people best and live the most meaningful lives when we dedicate ourselves to the Sovereign Good. We offer accountability: On the frontlines, teachers are dedicated to promoting academic and ethical growth. The chaplaincy knows and loves your children and their parents. Our administrative staff responds to your needs, concerns, and grievances promptly (we want to get it right all the time). We offer an opportunity: extraordinary opportunities to participate in competitive athletics at a high level, with inspirational coaches, and to bask in the pleasure of stage performance under the guidance of gifted arts instructors a culture that celebrates service and requires all students to explore practical service to others and faith-centered programs directed by our chaplains. These multiple and integrated venues that CCES offers students to develop into productive, disciplined, and conscientious people are distinctive in the Upstate. We offer a challenge: no one improves without high standards, motivation, and encouragement. CCES brings the best out of its students because it sets the bar high, provides assistance, and instills the confidence that leads to success. We offer community: perhaps the most appealing trait of CCES is its sense of togetherness. Collateral, parent volunteer groups enrich student activities with their support. The Parents Organization, Booster Club, and Arts Guild do beautiful things for students, mentors, and guests. The alumni association maintains links among our three thousand alums, including seventeen hundred in the Upstate. However, it is an informal activity that saves the day often. This connectedness is explicit when someone is in need. Care abounds. Compassion is tangible. People step up. The network of communication among CCES parents is vital. Faculty and staff extend regular and often unrecognized assistance to colleagues. We take care of one another. Character and competence result from this amalgam of institutional attributes. In addition to an assurance that a CCES graduate will be academically prepared for higher education, we deliberately cultivate six character traits: resilience, or persistence, colloquially known as "grit" collaboration, or teamwork creativity, or problem-solving ability, time management, or work ethic ethics, or compassion, empathy, and integrity and intrinsic motivation, or intellectual curiosity. Combining skills and virtue accounts for an impressive catalog of academic, athletic, and artistic accomplishments. These accomplishments are evidence of high aspirations and enthusiastic support and encouragement to make the most of our abilities. Offering students a unique educational experience, including International Baccalaureate (IB) programs and a challenging college preparatory curriculum, CCES has become synonymous with academic excellence throughout the area. It is evident in the measures of our students' achievements: 100% of our students are accepted into a college, SAT scores consistently outpace national averages by several hundred points, and IB scores exceed world averages. But it is even more evident in the classroom. Dedicated teachers with imagination and high standards make strong connections with their students. Our students are motivated to meet the high expectations of teachers who believe in them.
  22. Welcome to Wavertree Church of England School. Wavertree CE School is a small primary school in the heart of Wavertree overlooking the Mystery. The Victorian building was beautifully renovated in 1999 and further improvements have recently been made. Our Christian values (Thankfulness, Friendship, Forgiveness, Trust, Compassion, Fellowship, Peace, and Humility) underpin all aspects of our school children are encouraged to demonstrate our eight values every day. We are very proud of the achievements of our pupils and celebrate success every week. At Wavertree, CE schools work very hard to provide the children with a broad and balanced curriculum that has been designed to ensure progress. This curriculum is presented creatively through a topic-based approach. We are responsible for specific areas of the curriculum to ensure that learning opportunities are maximized each term. We offer a Breakfast Club for pupils in Reception - Y6 each morning and an After School Club Provision is in place for pupils. At Wavertree School, each class embraces a Christian value that we all strive to follow within the school and in the community beyond. Every class will learn about their Christian value and will share something of their learning with the community through a Class Assembly each year. This year Wavertree CE School is aiming to raise the profile of reading so that our children begin to recognize the value of reading for pleasure. In school, all classes are organizing and hosting a huge variety of different reading activities. We are hoping to get many parents involved too. We hope that we will be able to achieve the Reading Quality Mark which recognizes us as a school that embraces reading as an integral part of our learning and opens door to new worlds. In 1867 the National Society for the Education of the Poor, a foundation created by The Church of England, built a school on the edge of the expanse of land now known as The Mystery. This school, to be known as Trinity District School, was designed by architect Edward. The building continued to function as a Church of England Controlled School throughout the 20th Century. Daily log books were handwritten by headteachers and now in the care of the University archives show a fascinating insight into the day-to-day life of the school through the ages, and include some particularly poignant accounts of pupils who failed to return to school the day after many of the night bombing raids of the Second World War. During the protracted negotiations involved in achieving this, both aesthetically and financially, the newly-named Wavertree Church of England School continued to operate between two sites-the St. Bridget’s building, and Trinity District- as two parallel schools on either side of the Wavertree Mystery Park (St. Mary’s having already been demolished, and a Nursing Home built on the former site). When building work finally started, both schools were decanted into the much smaller Thorneycroft Rd site. Privations resulting from the rapidly disintegrating state of the old St Bridget’s school and an arson attack which caused a large part of the building to be permanently sealed off created a huge challenge to pupils and staff, and it was with great relief that the school was finally able to move back into the newly refurbished Prince Alfred Road building in May of 1998.
  23. This is a successful and forward-moving school although there is always more than we can achieve and improve on for our children. Whilst it may be a very different place than when the school was first created in 1790, there are still many traditions and parts to it that hold to its founding aims. We greatly value the partnership between families and school and we often take opportunities to be able to work and celebrate together. Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning and provide an environment that prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens. As the Church of England school in the Parish of Wanstead, we will work in partnership with home and Church to offer excellence in education rooted in the Christian faith. We will serve and nurture all the children in our care that they may realize their full potential. In all we do, the Gospel values underpin school life. Through these values, we are each able to ensure that the school's Code of Conduct is followed and that our school community is a happy one. At Wanstead Church School we want children to love reading - to enjoy books and to want to read - as well as learning to read. Within a broad and rich literacy curriculum, we teach reading through English lessons with reading-focused learning objectives and daily guided reading sessions. As the Church of England School of the Parish of Wanstead, we seek to work in partnership with home and church to offer excellence in education rooted in the Christian Faith. We seek to serve and nurture all the children in our care that they may realize their full potential. It is our aim that every child at our school is valued as a person created in the image of God. Pastoral care is our top priority. Wanstead Church School is one form primary school, with one class per year group. The Early Years Foundation Stage provision includes a Nursery where children attend on a part-time basis. Partnership with parents or carers plays a key role in enabling pupils and young people with special educational needs and disabilities to make good progress in all areas of the school curriculum. The school recognizes that parents or carers hold key information and have knowledge and experience to contribute to the shared view of a pupil’s needs and the best ways to support them. All parents or carers of pupils with SEND will be valued as partners and supported to play an active and valued role in their pupil’s education. The school provides information about Parent Link, the Parents in Partnership Service, and other support agencies to all parents or carers of pupils with special educational needs.
  24. Our School has won major architectural awards and is not an ‘off-the-shelf design. The ‘village green’ atrium, dedicated refectory, the hall where the whole school can gather, elegantly curved corridors, and ecologically sensitive roofs all indicate the values and culture which make Trinity ‘no ordinary school’. The design and its internal colors reflect the icon of the Trinity which is the symbol of our community. We work in a place of beauty where a peaceful and calm atmosphere fosters learning and reflection. In addition to our sports hall, activity studio, gym, and outside games area we have the use of the Old Colfeians, Sutcliffe Park, and Tudor Sports Grounds, all within walking distance of the school. We aim to be a strong Christian community in which children and adults - all of whom reflect the goodness of God - can flourish. A community where pupils fulfill their potential and achieve the very best educational outcomes, enabling them to make good life choices, to uphold British Values, and to take their place as citizens of the wider world. We Are a Learning Community: The Christian Story - as told in Scripture - is central to who we are and what we do, and informs all of our learning. We have high expectations of ourselves and one another in every area of school life - we aspire to excel and we never give up. We are committed to restorative justice and discipline that is exercised with love where all have the opportunity to learn through their mistakes. We Are a Loving Family: We belong to a loving family which includes pupils, staff, parents, and governors - of all faiths and none which extends to our local churches and our community. We recognize and celebrate our equal worth, and seek to be inclusive of all. All have a ‘place at the table’, where we gather together in worship and are invited to share in the Eucharist. We Are Living Good Lives: As Jesus commanded us to love our neighbor, we seek to serve those in need within our community, and the wider community. We are committed to pursuing social justice - especially for those who are disadvantaged - preventing discrimination and improving outcomes for all pupils. We are all encouraged to exercise leadership and to take responsibility for ourselves and one another.
  25. Our vision as an apostolic and prophetic school is to equip children(Ephesians 4:11,12). There are several areas that we will focus on. First, children will be equipped for their work of ministry. Each child has a destiny in Christ and a purpose in the kingdom of God. Every child has a ministry whether in the church or the secular realm. Every child’s future requires preparation, training, and equipping. Children need to understand how to live according to godly standards in all aspects of life. Children also need practical knowledge, understanding, and wisdom of pertinent subject matter. We find in Luke 2:52 that Jesus Himself grew in wisdom, stature, and in favor with man and God. Jesus had to receive training to grow in wisdom, to have physical health and strength, to have social skills and friendship with others, as well as, having a relationship with His heavenly father. This is also true for children. Church of Praise International Christian School is a church-based Christian school. It started in 2004 April. We have Japanese, American, and English staff which creates an international atmosphere. We have developed our special curriculum to educate children. The following is our program. Our Biblically based, the integrated curriculum provides opportunities for children to explore concepts and absorb information by learning in ways that suit their different learning styles. Our classroom life is stimulating and satisfying. We recognize that each child has their type of intelligence. Therefore, we offer music, art, movement, math, social studies, nature explorations, and science experiments as integral parts of the day. Our curriculum is designed to meet the ways that different children learn, and provide opportunities for all types of intelligence to succeed. Our curriculum includes Christian principles that will teach children social and moral skills for life. Our integrated curriculum is designed to ensure that each child develops both Japanese and English languages. Through studying various themes students will engage in activities where they will speak, listen, and write in both Japanese and English. Within the school’s daily program there are specific times for only speaking Japanese or only speaking English. Our program provides native-speaking Japanese teachers as well as native-speaking English teachers who will instruct in their native language. Our physical activities program is designed to be fun, promote physical fitness, promote neuromotor skills, as well as, perceptual-motor skills. Specialized physical activity has many benefits including health, brain stimulation that develops and improves the child’s attention span and thinking capabilities. Our program includes specific physical activities that are not only fun but prepare children for higher forms of learning too. Learning centers play an important role in our curriculum. Learning centers are designed to provide hands-on learning that coordinates with the theme being studied. Learning centers have many benefits. They allow children to have the autonomy to explore their interests positively. Learning centers foster self-esteem, decision-making abilities, individual and group learning, as well as, focusing attention on learning. Learning centers contribute to meeting individual student's learning styles, intelligence, and interests. This form of learning is engaging and encourages children to have a positive attitude towards learning!
