      1. Albert Bradbeer Primary Academy, in the Longbridge area of Birmingham, provides for the education of children between the ages of three and eleven. Footsteps Day Care supports children from birth. Our Nursery offers one year provision for children aged 3 to 4 years. Children can attend morning or afternoon sessions and all day for one day a week. Wrap care is available. In the school, we have places for 420 children aged 4 to 11 with 60 children in each year group. Our Belief and Ethos: Strong families give children love, identity, personal history, and a secure base from which to explore and enjoy life as they grow up. The relationship mothers and fathers have with their children is strongly associated with the children’s outcomes both in school and outside of school. The relationships that children have with others, including step-parents, siblings, grandparents, and other carers also impact on child well-being. Strong families build strong communities. Good attendance, along with parental support = a successful child. At Albert Bradbeer we feel that reading is the backbone to all learning. We use a banded book approach to reading. This means that we use a variety of different reading scheme books and books which are not within reading schemes. Books are graded by difficulty and labeled by colored groups. Ranging from wordless picture books to full chapter books, they gradually increase in difficulty, length, and technical elements. We also have focused comprehension lessons to support written and verbal understanding of texts. We also use specialist reading schemes to support pupils with specific reading difficulties. These are often high interest with low reading ages. Our school's motto is expressed by our school vision: WE C.A.N Citizenship: At Albert Bradbeer Primary Academy we aim to ensure that pupils are prepared for the opportunities, responsibilities, and experiences of life. Aspiration: We aim to secure a desire for high-quality expectations within all areas of school life from both pupils and adults alike. Nurture: We aim to establish provision, which offers targeted support for children and enables all children to avoid social exclusion as adults. We are proud that our community-spirited Academy is now partner with one of the largest Universities in the country. We aim to break down the barriers to learning and raise children’s aspirations so that they can achieve anything they work hard towards. We have developed our partnership with The University to give our children the best opportunity to do this. Our Staff, parents and Local Advisory Board strive to make sure that every child has an amazing experience at Albert Bradbeer teaching them to a high standard, celebrating our Nation’s values, and preparing them for life in Modern Britain. Our Academy is diverse and inclusive with a family ethos to it, which is an ethos that runs through the Academy chain. View full school

        Albert College

Founded in 1857, Albert College is Canada's oldest, independent, co-educational, day and boarding school. With over 150 years of experience and excellence in education, Albert College provides an enriched and engaging curriculum from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 / Post Graduate. A 'home away from home' to students from Canada and over 20 nations, Albert College, offers residency to both male and female students beginning in Grade 7. We believe in a well-rounded education, and at Albert, our students embrace Albert's 'A's – Academics, Arts, Athletics, Active Citizenship, and Adventure as part of their university preparation. Albert College is a beautiful day and international co-educational boarding school, steeped in history and tradition. Not only does it have a stellar reputation for preparing young people for university and life, but Albert College is also recognized for developing global citizens within a close family environment. The international makeup of Albert College helps foster understanding and tolerance. As technological advances continue to make our world indeed a global village, what better environment could there be in which to prepare students for the world that awaits them? As a small Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 school, Albert provides opportunities for its students, which would be impossible in a larger school. With a focus on the 5 'A's: Academics, Arts, Athletics, Active Citizenship, and Adventure, our students have an incredibly wide array of curricular and co-curricular opportunities in these areas. Our objective is to help students polish talents and discover new ones within a caring and nurturing environment that values individuality, compassion, integrity, and inclusiveness. You can find our beautiful 25-acre campus in Belleville, Ontario. Belleville is located on Lake Ontario with easy access to Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal. Words and pictures can only begin to tell the story. I hope that after browsing online, you will visit us in person. You will be glad that you did. In support of our school's vision of commitment to academic excellence, our academic program is as demanding as it is rewarding. Our students are challenged by the expectations, encouraged by members of a safe, close family community, and supported by resources that enable their success in achieving their full potential. The teaching and learning at Albert College take into consideration the diverse needs of our student population from more than 20 nationalities. We offer the security of established structure and curriculum, combined with a contemporary, dynamic, and innovative educational practice that focuses on the development of the child. Our class sizes are small, with a student-teacher ratio of 8 to 1. This ensures that each student receives personal individual attention and the opportunity to develop positive relationships with faculty and staff. Albert College provides students an education in intimate settings: Early Childhood Learning Center (EPLC) (Preschool and Junior Kindergarten) Junior School (Senior Kindergarten to Grade 6) Middle School (Grade 7 and ? Senior School (Grade 9 to 12). Albert College offers a Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) program for children 2.5 to 3 years old. The Pre-K program shares space with the Junior Kindergarten program in our Early Primary Learning Centre (EPLC) located at 28 Highland Avenue. The purpose of the Pre-K program is to focus on the development of the whole child – physical, social, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual – in preparation for early and ongoing success in our formal Junior and Senior Kindergarten. Developing strong foundations and a love for learning is an integral part of what we do at the Junior School. A mix of tradition, innovation, and student-directed learning provides the support and challenges our students to need to achieve their goals. Using the Ontario Curriculum as a guide to assist the transition for students joining us anytime, we have the flexibility to offer programming that motivates our students, allowing for more meaningful connections and deeper learning. An early introduction to French and instrumental music and large-scale performances are just a few ways that the Albert College experience differs from other educational options. These provide opportunities for students to engage in music, arts, literacy development, and enhance their self-confidence. Please be sure to read more about the Albert EPLC and Junior School program in our Life at Albert section under the other four 'A's: Arts, Athletics, Active Citizenship, and Adventure. Special showcase events where parents are invited into the classroom to share in their child's learning highlight the importance of integration across numerous academic strands. The Middle School consists of students in Grades 7 and 8. The faculty actively encourage students to develop critical academically-related habits and skills that will allow them to achieve academic success. Albert College offers a robust academic program that exceeds the Ontario curriculum standards and is delivered by passionate teachers equipped with specialist qualifications and Master's degrees. Throughout the academic year, students receive feedback on six specific learning skills. These reports are reviewed with the student's parents, as well as with the student's Academic Advisor, to allow for reflection and the opportunity to improve. Strategies are then developed to help the individual achieve their potential. The Middle School firmly believes in the correlation between strong learning skills and academic success. Much time is dedicated to developing learning skills to best prepare students for success in their future academics. Six learning skills are essential for student success and are assessed on an ongoing basis throughout the academic year. These skills include Organization, Initiative, Responsibility, Self-Regulation, Independent Work, and Collaboration, about the environment in which the student works. Some students naturally have most of these learning skills and can demonstrate them consistently. Other students require more of a hands-on approach to developing some of these skills. Albert College offers a diverse academic program. The curriculum exceeds the standards set by the Ontario curriculum and is delivered by passionate teachers equipped with specialist qualifications and Master's degrees. Through extensive counseling and full-year academic-level courses, we strive to develop an academic program suited to each student, which will challenge and enable students to achieve ambitious post-secondary goals. 8. The Haute Ecole Albert Jacquard is one of the six University colleges managed by the Wallonia Brussels Federation. Located in the city center and the Namur province, the Haute Ecole Albert Jacquard offers you cutting-edge teaching. The Haute Ecole Albert Jacquard (HEAJ) was born on the 15th of September 1995 from the merger between the Institut d’Enseignement Superieur Pedagogique de la Communaute francaise in Namur (ESPENA) and the Institut d’Enseignement Superieur Economique de la Communaute francaise in Tamines (IESET) in compliance with the Decree of 8/5/1995 establishing the general organisation of higher education in University Colleges. In September 2000, the Haute Ecole Albert Jacquard opened the Bachelor's Degree in Computer graphics, the first specialized program in Belgium. The HEAJ grew thus with a third department, the technical department. In 2012-2013, an Honours year in video games was born in collaboration with the University of Namur. Finally, at the start of the 2012-2013 school year, a fourth department was added: the paramedic's department, Enseignement Superieur Paramedical de Namur (ESPAN). This department has been created following the French Community's decision to open a new Bachelor's Degree in Psycho-motility. This new program is organized as a Joint Degree with the Haute Ecole de la Province de Namur (HEPN). Our Programmes are Economics, Computer Graphics, Paramedics, Education. The "Hautes Écoles" is in charge of training half of the higher education students in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. Thanks to their applied research activities, which are numerous, exciting, and still very little known, they ensure the high-quality teaching level and participate actively in the regional socio-economic development. Current research projects at HEAJ are BEE – Builders of Educative Ecosystem. The BEE research project focuses on teaching staff support. It aims at the development of digital learning ecosystems that are adapted to higher education. These ecosystems have the following goals, support students in their learning processes, allow more specific support from teachers during experimental learning stages. BEE makes the most of inductive methodologies and the wide range of digital tools available nowadays. All this for optimal use and entirely in line with the learning context of higher education students. The HEAJ supports entrepreneurship, supervises, and encourages student entrepreneurs who want to carry out their projects. This is what being a responsible school means. We at HEAJ think that a student's project, of whatever kind, deserves to be supported. Thanks to our entrepreneurial school status, we offer different services to students with an entrepreneurial project. View full university
