- King's College, an independent secondary school in Auckland, New Zealand, is founded on providing the best all-around education it is possible to obtain. Our students benefit from our rich history and the strong community that has developed around the College since its foundation more than 120 years ago. When King’s College was established in 1896, the founder and principal, Mr. Graham Bruce, described the aim of the College as being able to provide the best all-around education it is possible to obtain. A core value of the College is to affirm the significance of the Christian spiritual journey. Our students grow to be well-rounded individuals who explore who they are, the Anglican faith, have a strong sense of belonging, and search for meaning and purpose in life. Through our Religious Education teachings in the classroom, our community service program, Voyager course, and Chapel Choir, and more, the College does much to celebrate its Anglican and Christian ethos. Our goal is to prepare our students so that they can flourish in today’s rapidly changing world. Staff are dedicated to the development of our academic curriculum and co-curricular programs and have worked productively to create exciting, challenging, and worthwhile opportunities for all our students. King’s College aims to provide a full and balanced curriculum that is stimulating, enjoyable, challenging, and takes account of each student’s specific learning needs. We believe that the role of the College is to provide a wide range of challenging learning opportunities that will enable each individual to realize their potential. It is also our role to support our students to meet the challenges we set for them. We recognize that a one-size-fits-all approach to teaching and learning is flawed. Different students will need different levels of support and we are committed to understanding the individual needs and circumstances of each student. At King’s, we offer the Dual Qualification Pathways of both Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA). We are proud to offer a choice of CIE and NCEA to our senior students and we do this to ensure each student has access to the teaching and learning opportunities that will give them the tools to succeed in their chosen subjects. Making decisions about which qualification pathway to follow and selecting which subjects to take can be a challenge for many students. We encourage all our students to keep their subject choices broad rather than specializing too early. By keeping a mix of subjects across areas such as the humanities, sciences, and maths, you are keeping your options open for your future studies and career choices, as well as developing the diversity of skills that employers are looking for. King’s College not only offers opportunities for students to achieve good academic results, we actively promote the benefits of a wider curriculum to students. Participation in co-curricular activities helps promote engagement with the King’s College values and provides a transformative experience through which students can prepare themselves to succeed in the many and varied roles they will undertake in future life. Staffed full-time by professional librarians, the King’s College Library operates as a research hub and communal space for our students to study, meet and share ideas. Our librarians assist students in their search for materials to support their research projects and class assignments. An important focus for our library staff is teaching students how to find quality resources and encouraging them to look beyond Google searches and Wikipedia. Through the King’s College Library students are familiarised with library systems – a skill that is vital as they continue their studies – and gain access to an extensive network of online resources. King’s has adopted Accessit Library software which allows our students to search for books and other resources when it suits them – onsite, from the classroom, or at home on the weekend. For King's, financial independence is reliant on the philanthropic support of its community of past and current parents, Old Collegians and their families, and many others who appreciate the value of a King's College education. - Our school is rich in the history of farming, strong community engagement, and generational involvement. We work hard to retain the heart of our school in a changing and diversifying area. We hold important, children being children, having a go and getting a little muddy on the way. We are intentional in providing opportunities for leadership, growth, and character. Our farming (of the land mindset), our give it a go, and our great Kiwi ingenuity is things we want to protect and make special about our school. Our children mountain bike, climb trees, raft rivers, and tramp our rich landscapes, and (at times) get dirty. They have a voice and know they can make a difference in their lives and the lives of others. We know a strong sense of identity and confidence is in the soil of our history and continues to bring great fruit measured by the quality of our graduates. We see our staff and our children positioned to pursue their very best, to thrive in an environment where they can bring their best, and to celebrate the diversity this allows within our school. Achieving a “PB” (personal best) is a goal for our people in all situations. Here at Huapai District School, we are seeking to develop children who are confident and self-assured in purpose, who carry a voice of positive influence, and consistently deliver at their best. They carry with them the confidence to have a go, to lead, and to impact positively. They know how to work with others for a better outcome, they approach their learning with enthusiasm and display the hallmarks of a lifelong learner in being willing to take risks, and having the resilience and “grit” to not give up easily. They have a thirst for learning, they enquire, and they ask lots of questions. Above all else, they represent both themselves and the school with dignity, humility, and pride. Montessori at Huapai District School was established in 2005 through the collaboration of a dedicated group of parents, school management, and the Board of Trustees. The Montessori Primary pedagogy is delivered with the support and structure of the main school environment and the New Zealand National Curriculum. The class is well integrated with the wider school community. Huapai Plus is a Before & Afterschool/holiday program operated by Huapai District School out of the school Hall. We aim to provide a fun, safe & exciting environment to children aged 5-13 years old. All new entrant children will be collected from class and brought back to the hall. A roll call will be done every day to make sure all children are accounted for. Parents of absentees will be contacted if the absentee has not previously been communicated. At Huapai Plus we provide an afternoon tea every day to keep your children going. If your child/ren has food allergies or religious considerations please note these when enrolling and talk to the program manager. Huapai Plus will have a homework time Monday - Thursday for those children who have homework. Please talk to the program manager about what your child/ren requires. Aged-based activities ranging from baking to crafts to indoor/outdoor games and science experiments will be run each day, as well as free time to allow time for your children to be children. We believe that a fit and healthy body helps maintain a fit and healthy mind. At Huapai, all children participate in PE and sport regularly. We strongly believe in challenging children to strive for their excellence in physical activity as these achievements act as anchor points for future learning. We start with the basic building blocks of physical movement and move through to adventure and risk. The PE year is full-on with no sports off-limits. As well as the typical summer and winter codes each year, the children also experience gymnastics, lifejackets in school, mud running, squash, ninja warrior course, bike riding, tackle rugby, bull rush, our Mowatt cup the ball, running, playball, pickleball, climbing trees, elastics, skipping, water slides, bike ramps and generally being kids! Mud, bare feet, sweat, and laughter are all par for the course here. View full school

- Early in 1903 Bishop Moore, Richard Neligan arrived in Auckland to begin his ministry as the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Auckland. Having considerable experience in education and eager to rally the Anglican community around a shared project, he decided to establish an Anglican school for girls modeled on the new British ‘high schools’. Diocesan Junior School prides itself on being an innovative environment, a place where every decision is based on the current research about how girls learn, develop and thrive. We believe it is important to educate the future female leaders of this country in an environment that encourages the girls to be "more than that ever imagined". This environment is readily apparent in our corridors and classrooms every day. Our girls are an integral part of our unique culture that is Dio. We offer excellence in teaching and learning and take pride in our unparalleled, research-based teaching methods. At the same time, we place a high value on an inclusive environment that is nurturing, collaborative, diverse, and fosters sisterhood and friendship. Pre-school Years 1 - 6 Anglican Identity. Our Junior School students have so many opportunities to take their learning beyond the classroom through Sport, Performing Arts, and our progressive Education Outside the Classroom program. It's all about teaching new skills and helping our girls to develop self-confidence to aim for excellence in everything they do. In Junior High School, we offer a wide range of subjects, allowing students the freedom to expand on their interests while continuing to strengthen skills in numeracy and literacy. Students work alongside exceptional teachers who mentor them to reach their full potential across all subjects and excel in their areas of strength. All students also have access to the latest digital technology and learn in state-of-the-art learning spaces. Our curriculum has been specifically designed to meet the needs and interests of students. The core subjects are Arts, (Dance, Drama, Music and Visual), English, Social Studies, Technology (Food, Fabric, and Materials), Mathematics, Health and Physical Education, Science and Religious Studies. Students also have great opportunities for language learning, with 7 language options including Latin, Japanese, Mandarin, French, German, Spanish, and Te Reo. In Junior High School students will explore new territories online, learn to think critically about new technologies, and develop digital literacy that will prepare them for the future. Girls in Years 7-8 use their iPads with applications that enhance their learning and from Year 9 students will learn to work independently from their laptops. In Junior High School, all students will have access to our Creative Industries faculty, established in recognition of the benefits of creative thinking across all subject areas. This faculty brings together The Imagination Station (editing suites, 3D printer, and laser cutter), food technology, design, and visual communication, digital technology, media studies, digital media design, and material design technologies. Our students have the unique opportunity to choose from two education pathways NCEA or the International Baccalaureate Diploma, both of which offer a wide range of subjects to suit the individual interests and strengths of each student. Whichever path they choose, every student will learn Ethics and Philosophy to help her develop a deeper understanding of critical thinking along with our Leadership and Service Learning program. How it works: Students in Years 1-6 follow the Primary Years Programme (an IB program). From Years 7-11 students continue to follow the New Zealand curriculum. All students begin NCEA Level 1 in Year 10 and gain this qualification by the end of Year 11. During Year 11 students decide whether to carry on with NCEA for Levels 2 and 3 in Years 12 and 13 or to begin the two-year IB Diploma Programme. The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme is an academically challenging and balanced program of education that works to develop students who live, learn and work in a rapidly changing world. With a focus on independent thinking, academic rigor, community service, inter-cultural understanding, and respect for others, the Programme prepares students for success at university and beyond. Our teaching and learning philosophy is to encourage learners who are open to challenge, willing to develop their abilities and achieve their personal best, take risks and accept mistakes, make ethical decisions, and enjoy learning. This vision complements the IB Diploma program which aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, open-minded, reflective, caring and principled young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through effective communication, intercultural understanding, and respect. The Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016 provides schools with a framework for the care and support of students. We want to ensure your daughter is well supported to make the most of her overseas experience. Our Pastoral Care Team, the Director of International Students, and the International Student Support Coordinator provide comprehensive care for our international students, ensuring their transition into our school is as easy as possible. All her teachers, her host family, or her boarding staff will take an active interest in making sure your daughter is safe and happy. Regular international student meetings and one on one interviews throughout the year are held to assist girls to settle into the school's routine and provide ongoing support. View full school

- Huanui College was established on 8 February 2010 and officially opened by the Honourable Heather Roy and Mayor Stan Semenoff on March 10, 2010, at the College Opening Day and was blessed by the Reverend Hake Parata and him Tangata o Pehiaweri Marae. The school came about by the vision of its founder, Mr. Evan Hamlet. Evan, originally from Dargaville, established the College to provide high-quality independent education. The College aims to develop student's talents and abilities in a learning environment that encourages excellent attitudes to learn and live within a caring community that involves parents in their child’s education. As our school reaches the end of its first decade of existence, we can reflect on the nature of time and its passing. You may forget the trivial and mundane or focus on monumental moments which tell a story and maybe easily be digested. The true nature of time, however, is far more complex than the stories we choose to tell ourselves. Such stories often leave out the humanity of those involved. This makes us feel distant and helps us to see ourselves as separate from those of the past. In reality, we are the same is so when discussing “Our Land’s Story”. Do not forget that “our” is not a reference just to those living but refers to the community we have built, spanning generations and cultures. The challenge to you is to see yourself as temporary yet send your story on to the future from the place we all share this land. A literal translation of our motto is: “He conquers who conquers himself”. Anyone can succeed through overcoming those difficulties which so often lie within themselves. This philosophy underpins every aspect of the school and every student will be encouraged to undertake activities that challenge and inspire them in this way. We are dedicated to providing Northland children with a uniquely individual educational experience. We believe that every child must be valued as an individual. Our shared vision is to develop self-confidence, self-worth, and happiness in our students, within a special atmosphere of encouragement and support. The range of educational opportunities and learning approaches is designed to help each student discover and develop their strengths and weaknesses and identify areas where assistance may be needed. Opportunities for student leadership in all years will foster students’ self-confidence and promote responsibility for their actions. Huanui College welcomes the involvement of parents and is committed to developing a strong sense of community. We aspire to provide a place of learning where achieving personal excellence is the aim and expectation of every child. We want our students to develop growth mindsets where they realize that they can make changes and that while they cannot do something yet, with patience, perseverance, and self-belief, they can grow and develop into the person they want to be. We also want our students to develop resilience and realize that the road will not always be smooth. We want to encourage our students to take these obstacles in their stride and be able to bounce back from disappointment. This is an important life skill that will help develop the resilience needed in the future. We believe there is more to be gained from sport than just participation. Time management, dedication, commitment, and self-discipline are all valuable skills that come from participating in sport. A high level of coaching will be provided for a variety of sports, encompassing both traditional team sports and a variety of individual sports. Huanui College has a strong relationship with the Whangarei Triathlon Club, Kamo Rugby Club, Mangapai Hockey Club, The Northern Sun's Basketball and currently have 5 netball teams competing in the local competition. Our students participate strongly at Northland Secondary School events, with many of our students going on to represent both the College and Northland at National events. In all sporting disciplines, sportsmanship and cooperation will be assiduously cultivated. View full school

- City Impact Church School is the realization of a long-held dream to create a unique school that inspires and equips students to reach their God-given potential. Our vision is to provide high-quality education within a Christian environment so that students can achieve academic excellence whilst growing in their faith. Created in God’s image, with unlimited potential, we know our students each carry unique gifts and qualities that, given the right atmosphere, opportunity, and encouragement, will enable them to accomplish incredible things and bring great fulfillment to their lives. City Impact Church School offers a full primary and secondary school with excellent facilities and resources, and an emphasis on academic excellence. This is complemented by a strong Arts and Sports program. At City Impact Church School we are a support to families as they train their children in God’s ways, alongside the local church. Partnering together we can prepare them to be successful in all spheres of life. City Impact Church School is a private Christian school on Auckland’s North Shore. Founded in 2004, it has special significance for our Senior Pastors, Peter and Bev Mortlock. It is a realization of a dream that has long burned in their hearts to create a place where students can freely worship God whilst learning and achieving academic success. A place where every student can gain a Biblical perspective of the world, growing in wisdom, knowledge, and Godly character, and create a foundation in Christ and in His word that securely seals their future and destiny. A place where the Holy Spirit resides in such a way that, every day, they truly encounter the power of God. Our Curriculum House represents the framework upon which our teaching programs are built upon. The structure of the house is made up of the ‘foundations’, ‘pillars’, ‘walls’ and ‘roof’. Each part of the house represents the key components of our curriculum philosophy. Our framework ensures that each curriculum area is undergirded with biblical truth and supports the vision and values of the school. As the students learn about the Holy Spirit, they are encouraged to know Him personally and become Spirit-led Christians. They are taught to be confident in their spirit, bringing their soul and mind in line with their spirit as the strongest influence on their lives. They are taught to live truly Christian lives, having the character, fruit, and supernatural results of living in connection with their Creator the way it was always meant to be. At City Impact Church School the subject range that is offered to our students from Years 0-10 includes the following: Kingdom Building: History, Geography and Doctrine, Language, Mathematics, Science, Art, Music, Drama, and Physical Education / Sport. The Cambridge International Examinations Programme (CIE) will provide the basis for study at Years 11 – 13. Compulsory subjects are taken by Year 11 students include: English Language and English Literature, Mathematics (Core/Extended), Co-ordinated Science (Core/Extended), City Impact Doctrine & Mentoring program. Students are currently able to select two subjects from the following range History, Geography, Business Studies, Media Studies, and Art and Design. A further explanation of the subjects taught from Years 0-10. In each of these subjects, we have also written a biblical statement that explains why we teach each learning area. In developing and delivering our Christian Curriculum we come from the premise that God is truth, and that all truth is God’s truth, therefore there is no separation between religious and natural truth. Therefore, instruction about God and His principles is not confined to just an act of worship or doctrine class, but students are inspired throughout all subject areas. Below describes how this is seen. This is an exceptional product that includes the whole of the school in the cast or as technical support each year. Performed in our over 1800 seat auditorium at our North Shore Campus as well as our 800 seater auditorium in Mt Wellington, this production offers our children an incredible opportunity to minister with skill and anointing to the lives of a huge number of people in our community. The concept of having ‘adopted grandparents’ in the school is a fundamental tenet of the school and is a special difference that sets City Impact Church School apart. Each child is assigned to a ‘school grandparent’ – who is affectionately called their ‘warrior’ (each student thinks they are pretty awesome!). They are the more mature Christians of City Impact’s church congregation and become a special part of a student’s life. The program itself provides an invaluable opportunity for the students to learn to relate to an older generation, establishing a relationship and a sense of connectedness handing the ‘baton’ from one generation to another. It provides another example of Christian life for the student's someone who has a strong, flourishing relationship with God, someone who has been running the race for some time and can be a source of inspiration and wisdom. - Chilton Saint James School is a world-class private girls’ day school through years 1 to 13. The campus sits on Waterloo Road in Lower Hutt – a quick 15 minutes from downtown Wellington, New Zealand’s capital city. We also operate a co-educational Preschool at our campus on Waterloo Road. Established in 1918, Chilton is a private school, affiliated with the Anglican Church. We welcome students from all faiths and aim to teach respect for one another’s religious traditions. Chilton Saint James is a remarkable school set up by a very remarkable woman, Geraldine FitzGerald. A woman of vigor, talent, and single-minded vision, she made sure that her pupils had the richness of experience they needed to thrive in this pioneering country. The world has changed a lot since our foundation, but our approach remains the same. We do not offer a stifling education. Life at Chilton is a broad, rich, and diverse set of stimulating experiences. We fuse the best in academic achievement with the best in creative and active physical expression. Our goal is to create that most elusive and valuable of commodities in today’s challenging world: creativity. Chilton Saint James School was founded in 1918 by Miss Geraldine FitzGerald. Lower Hutt was chosen as the wartime location as it was considered a safer environment than Wellington's exposed city center. The suburban campus has ideal facilities with expansive playing fields, an outdoor swimming pool, and growth space for future development of facilities. Our campus is laid out across various periods and modern buildings, all of which are named after important people in our history. The latest addition is 2010, the Greenwood Building was opened by the Honourable John Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand, and the Right Reverend Dr. Thomas Brown, Bishop of Wellington. The building is itself named after Elizabeth Greenwood, a friend of Miss FitzGerald and a leading figure in fundraising for the School’s establishment. The learning hub for the whole school and used by all students from Preschool to year 13, in the library. This is situated in the Greenwood Building and is named after Nesta Mason, the second Principal of Chilton. Another focal point of the School is the Jubilee Centre, built in our 75th (Jubilee) year and housing a large multi-purpose gymnasium space used for teaching Physical Education and other uses such as concerts, shows, sports matches, and assemblies, combined with a theatre used for dance and drama classes. Preschool at Chilton offers the first formal step to becoming remarkable as a life-long learner. The Chilton Preschool challenges and nurtures the pre-literate child and provides a strong foundation for future success at school. We welcome boys and girls, aged 2, 3, and 4 into our Preschool programs. The Preschool has a wonderful reputation in the community because of the focused and nurturing approach of our attentive and caring staff with excellent teacher-to-child ratios. Our dedicated and qualified teachers provide the right balance of structured and free play plus specialist classes which include Music, Dance, and Physical Education. Nestled in the Junior School, our Preschool enjoys modern purpose-designed facilities with two age-appropriate preschool playgrounds. The Preschool is integrated with the Chilton Junior School, which provides a seamless transition for girls entering the next important step in their education at age 5. Children of 2 years are at a turning point in their lives, they are embarking on the road toward separation and independence. In their struggle for autonomy, these children are eager to assert a mind of their own, to have their own say. They yearn to be individuals. They are just learning to use their language, to express strong feelings, often revealing this through their actions. If children are to become autonomous and competent they must develop a clear sense of self. The foundation is laid during their toddler years. Only then can children develop traits such as self-motivation, pride, self-respect, and accountability. Our program for 2 – 3-year-olds enables our children to experience thinking, learning, social and emotional changes whilst exploring and making sense of the world around them. We link our observations and learning stories to Te Whāriki, the IB (PYP) program, and the Chilton Preschool curriculum. The curriculum for 3 and 4-year-olds is based on the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) using Te Whāriki, and the Chilton curriculum. There is a strong focus on literacy, numeracy, self-management skills giving our children a head-start for school. The IB PYP Programme supports students to gain an understanding of the world and to learn to function comfortably within it, moving from not knowing, to knowing. In the PYP, it is acknowledged that experiences during the early years lay the foundations for all future learning. View full school

Several graduates have been recipients of university scholarships, not only to universities such as the University of Auckland but also to universities such as Harvard, California Institute of Technology, Stanford, Columbia, Princeton, Oxford, Cambridge, and Tokyo. The academic programs at AIC are challenging. Inquiries are welcome from those who feel that AIC is an environment appropriate to their high aspirations. To be New Zealand’s global pathway school through outstanding academic achievement and offers of place from the world’s leading universities. To provide students with opportunities for higher academic achievement and a place in the global community as valuable, contributing, and responsible members. The IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) was selected by AIC as the high school leaving qualification that best fit AIC’s vision. (To be New Zealand’s global pathway school through outstanding academic achievement and offers of place from the world’s leading universities) The IBDP is a demanding course designed for able students aged 16-19 years. While highly academic, the program aims to educate the whole person, helping students to become critical thinkers and independent and caring young men and women. Student performance is graded according to criteria that are moderated internationally. The Year 11 Preparation Year Programme equips students with the skills and knowledge required to meet the demands of the IB Diploma Programme. Each student studies all of the subjects offered in the Diploma Programme, allowing them to make an informed and appropriate choice of subjects for the IB Diploma. In addition, the program ensures the well-being of students through Health and Social Education, Recreation and Sport, and participation in College-wide IB Diploma CAS activities. Assessments in Year 11 are designed to familiarise students with the type of learning tasks they will meet in the IB Diploma courses and will include essays, oral presentations, commentaries, and written tasks. There are examinations in term 4. This half-year course develops and improves the English language skills required for the AIC Year 11 course, the Preparation Year Programme for the IB Diploma. In addition, students develop their skills in Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Art. Physical and mental well-being is ensured through the Health and Physical Education components of the program. The study is integrated into English, Social Studies, and Health, whereby teaching and learning are connected thematically and linguistically. The course is designed to elevate the students’ English skills from an IELTS equivalent band score of 3.5 to 4.5 within a half-yearly time frame. The course is offered once a year from January to June. The clubs and activities are open to all AIC students. Twice a year AIC holds a club and activities sign-up afternoon when club leaders advertise their club and recruit new participants. All of the clubs and activities are student-driven with an adult supervisor. Being student-led means that strong leadership and organizational abilities are required to make a success of each club and activity. In general, most clubs have just one leader, though some larger clubs have a co-leader or deputy leader. If a student wishes to start their club where their particular interest is not already represented, this is welcomed and they are encouraged to do so. The breadth and range of clubs and activities provide a multitude of opportunities for students to exhibit and grow their leadership abilities and styles.AIC prioritizes university counseling support by employing university counselors. These specialist counselors offer comprehensive support and guidance to AIC students’ applications to universities. The counselors prepare students for SATs, explain what university admissions officers are looking for, provide individual university interview coaching, and, because of their specialist expertise, they can explain the best ways to apply to the various universities. From Year 11, AIC students start the university application and coaching preparation process. The counselors maintain close relationships with teachers to ensure that letters of recommendation to universities are of the highest quality. AIC is in communication with admissions officers throughout the world to ensure that students’ accomplishments are accurately portrayed in their applications. We are one of New Zealand’s leading independent preparatory schools, catering for boys aged 5 to 13. At Hereworth, we let every boy be his own “man” – focusing on his potential by developing his confidence within a firm, fair, friendly, and fun environment. We nourish his spirit – and we help him to enjoy and celebrate being a boy. Make the best decision for boys. Boy’s first school will be one of the most important and influential choices you make for him. You want the best for him, and want to make sure that he will discover his strengths in a supportive environment with teachers who give him the individual attention he deserves. Hereworth School will give him all this and more. We understand boys and have created an environment that is designed to get the best out of them. We have a specialized focus on educating boys at the primary school level. Everything we do at Hereworth is designed to enhance your son’s learning, living and social skills during the incredibly important years of five through to thirteen. There’s a reason why this is called primary education – because it’s of primary importance to how and what your child learns. Boys are often misunderstood and labeled as ‘naughty’, ‘challenging’ or ‘lacking concentration’: we understand that boys need space, they need challenges and they need to be active learners. We have a school where boys can be boys, where they aren’t afraid to speak up and ask questions, and where good boys become great men. These include a top-quality cricket oval, large grounds catering for all major sports, astroturf courts, hard court areas, and a swimming pool. Two adventure playgrounds, along with various hedges, trees, banks, and the wilderness area of ‘Scouts Gully’, provide plenty of challenges for the boys in their breaks from the classroom program. There is plenty of room for boys to run, chase, hide and use their imaginations. In collaboration with the boy’s family, we focus on academic success aligned with social, emotional, spiritual, creative, and physical well-being. We develop specific programs to maximize our influence on all our young boys’ minds, hearts, and hands. We want our boys to experience life! We want to engage boys’ spirit and wonder, to become motivated, passionate, caring and compassionate, not squash it. We are advocates of responsible risk-taking and encourage it. Our focus is on excellence in education. Learning is life-long and so we have carefully considered our curriculum to best meet the needs of primary-aged boys. We offer a wide range of subjects, even for our youngest students. Our classrooms are fully equipped with technology and e-learning is incorporated into daily class life. Core subjects of Literacy and Numeracy, as well as integrated units (Science, Health, Tech, and Social Science), are a key focus at the new entrant level. This is supported by music, speech and drama, art, languages, religious education, and physical education/Hauora, resulting in a well-rounded curriculum. We also tailor a specialized physical education and sports program for our youngest ones. The opportunity to join sports teams is optional for the very young, and we find most of them take it up. Specialist coaches of the highest caliber are brought in to coach the boys throughout the year, and we also take the boys to weekly swimming lessons. View full school

- Founded in 1850, Christ’s College is an independent Anglican school for boys from Year 9 to Year 13. The college has a culture of excellence in all aspects of education. We support and inspire our students to always aim high and achieve their best. Boys with a wide range of abilities are welcome at College. There is a consistent emphasis on ambition and achievement at all levels and our student outcomes are amongst the best in New Zealand. We nurture the ambitions of some of the brightest scholars in the land, whilst taking equal pleasure in the outstanding progress made by those who benefit from our Learning Centre. The boys respect each other’s commitment, whether within or outside the classroom. Our diversity is a key to our success. We know there are many different reasons why some boys experience difficulty with learning and require extra help. The Learning Centre provides a safe learning environment where, using a personalized learning program, every boy who needs support is allowed to achieve at his best. Christ's College achieves leading academic results when compared with schools across New Zealand. Our tailored programs enable us to offer enrichment programs for identified students. Enrichment opportunities are led by specialist teachers and include creative writing courses, access to university presentations, linguistics, Brain Bee, classical literature, robotics, and programming. We provide extra teaching assistance for academic scholarship programs, and each department ensures extension opportunities are available. Academic mentoring supports the boys to achieve their goals. The college will provide the software required to support learning. This includes the Adobe suite for all boys. We provide Sibelius software for senior music students. Other commercial software, which College has student licenses for, will be provided on a needs basis depending on the course. Installation of licensed software requires additional software to be installed on student laptops, which allows College to manage its licensing requirements. College makes extensive use of the Google suite of applications, which are accessed online. These are free, and the files automatically save and can be accessed from any computer. They can also be easily shared with teachers. This means that if for some reason, your son’s computer is out of action, he can access his files from another computer or laptop. Keeping software up-to-date will be the boys’ responsibility. The college has a filtered and managed internet connection and we block all objectionable material. College also runs a series of digital citizenship courses for boys and parents. These courses are aimed at not only developing good digital learning skills (Digital Literacy) but also cover the safe use of the internet and social media. Parent courses provide information on how you can support the appropriate use of technology at home. Sites such as OpenDNS provide tools for parents to manage access at home if needed. Apple’s OS also has built-in management tools. It is important, however, that these tools do not interfere with the boy's need to load educational software and use their laptops at College. Provide a world-class environment that develops a lifelong passion for all sports and physical activities. Many of our boys excel in more than one area of sport, and that is because of the opportunities provided by inter-house activities and through encouraging them to move outside their comfort zones, to be the best they can be. Christ’s College is well known across New Zealand for its competitiveness in a broad range of sports, from traditional team sports to more recreation-based activities. Staff work alongside professional coaches to assist teams and individuals. The House system encourages participation in a wide range of sporting activities which lead boys into new experiences. Boys are encouraged to enjoy sporting competitions without compromising the highest standards of sportsmanship and fair play. For many students sport is one path to personal satisfaction, understanding the value of endeavor, self-discipline, and other essential features of moral development. At Christ's College, sport is kept in balance with scholastic and other co-curricular activities but is considered to be a part of school life in which many boys can excel. Sport is compulsory in both summer and winter for Year 9 - 13 students. The college has exchange programs in place with Bishops School in Cape Town and Michaelhouse in Natal, South Africa Christ Church Grammar School in Perth and Knox Grammar School in Sydney, Australia, and the Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, USA. Students should contact their Housemaster for details. We are the only South Island member of Round Square, an international network of over 160 schools in 40 countries, and have established exchange programs with other Round Square affiliated schools View full school

- Internationally recognized as an innovative leader in education for over 25 years, Carey College is small by design. That gives us the flexibility, small classes, and extensive course options that grow each child's knowledge, faith, values, and skills. Success is experienced, service is modeled, faith and excellence are valued. Classes are small. Students can be taught and achieve as individuals. The particular skills, knowledge and needs a key to each child's learning are identified and shape personal learning. Christian character and attitudes, such as planning, managing feelings, facing challenges, persevering, caring for others, sharing and working together, and living by faith, are taught and modeled. Carey College is named after pioneer missionary William Carey. His life is an outstanding example of Christian faith applied to practical living and useful service. He exemplifies the Christianity the College is committed to. The college opened in 1988 as a Primary School and added its first Primary Distance Learning pupils in 1989. As the College has grown, so too has its ministry, with Secondary Distance Learning pupils beginning in 1991 and the Secondary Class in 1993. Our College motto is Psalm 36:9: "For with you is the fountain of life in your light we see light" The Bible is God’s Word to guide and direct every part of the Christian’s life. We use it to shape our teaching methods and the content of lessons. Our courses teach children to look to the Bible to shape their studies and to help them be discerning as they confront the varied fields of knowledge that make up the school curriculum. In this way, we aim to help parents train children in faithful service to Christ. At the very heart of the Christian faith, and therefore at the very heart of the ministry of Carey College, is this declaration about Jesus: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. Among the key principles of the Christian faith that influence the character of the College and are incorporated into its Statement of Faith are: The Bible is the Word of God God, eternal in three Persons, is the Creator and Sovereign of Heaven and Earth The Lord Jesus Christ became man (while remaining fully God), died to save his people from their sins, rose, is alive forevermore and will return in glory The fear of God is necessary for true knowledge and wisdom Teaching is a spiritual activity If you would like a copy of our full Statement of Faith, based on the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith as its doctrinal foundation. The main goal of education is to teach children to glorify, serve and enjoy their Creator. It is only as God is reverenced and known that any fact is properly understood or able to be widely used. Carey College is dedicated to helping parents nurture a generation for Christ in excellence and truth. To do this we have two aims: We aim to bring children to a knowledge of Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord by challenging children to believe in Christ, and showing them how his Lordship applies in every part of the curriculum We aim to bring children to self-disciplined maturity, able to live vital, Christ-like lives as effective citizens, by laying a solid foundation of skills, knowledge, and Christian values We aim to have a school where children are safe and well-taught rules and policies are minimal, constructive, and helpful and everyone can have clarity about what is expected and how we do things. So we publish as many of our policies as possible. The main things you might want to know are listed below: click on the text to read any item. If there is anything else you want to know, please ask. - Kaipara Flats School is a welcoming place for students. It provides a broad curriculum based on The New Zealand Curriculum. Most students are achieving well in reading, writing, and mathematics. The new principal and board are strengthening aspects of educational leadership, governance, and school self-review. Kaipara Flats School is a small rural primary school situated north of Auckland. The school provides education for students from Years 1 to 6. Children learn in small, multi-level classes. They experience individualized attention and support. Students of different ages and year levels are very supportive of each other. Students and families are proud of the long-standing and inter-generational connections the school has with its community. Local community events and school traditions are very important to parents and the wider community. These events and traditions continue to feature in school programs. Student wellbeing and students’ sense of belonging are fostered through positive relationships. The inclusive tone in the school supports the learning of all students. The physical environment is attractive and well cared for. The school is well resourced and facilities are shared with the wider community. The school is using student achievement information increasingly well to make positive changes to learners’ engagement, progress, and achievement. The school’s student achievement information shows that most students are achieving at or above the National Standards in reading, writing, and mathematics. Teachers provide the board with a large amount of achievement data. The board could make better use of this information if it was collated and analyzed to show trends and patterns in student progress and achievement. It would be beneficial if it included information related to groups identified by the Government as priority learners. Teachers reflect on their practice in several ways to make positive changes for learners. They use a variety of assessment tools. They use assessment information for program planning and to help them make overall teacher judgments about student achievement levels. They monitor all students closely. Students needing additional help are well supported in classrooms through additional programs and teacher aide resourcing. The next step for the school is to develop greater shared understandings of the teaching practices that are most effective in promoting student progress and learning. High-quality external professional learning and development (PLD) should now be accessed to strengthen educational leadership and teachers' evaluation of their teaching. Work in these areas should include a focus on extending student learning so that more students are challenged to achieve at levels above the National Standards. Parents receive information about their children’s learning in all curriculum areas through a variety of methods. Teachers welcome informal discussions with parents. Parents also receive written reports about their children’s progress and achievement against the National Standards in reading, writing, and mathematics. The school's plans to review and refine these reporting formats should help ensure that reports provide clear information that is useful to parents and students. The schools’ curriculum supports and promotes student learning. Students have access to a wide range of resources and tools to support their learning. They are confident and articulate. Students work enthusiastically in groups and/or independently. The school curriculum covers all areas of The New Zealand Curriculum. Teachers use different approaches to integrate curriculum learning areas to help students make connections in their learning. Students' learning opportunities are enhanced by a significant focus on integrating information and communication technologies (ICT) into teaching and learning programs. The board is committed to continuing to fund ICT resources. They are also planning to develop learning spaces that support collaborative learning. Students’ questioning, thinking, and inquiry skills and abilities are promoted by teachers. Teachers are using strategies to increase students’ independence and understanding of their learning. As a result, the school is becoming better placed to increase students' sense of owning their learning. Students are settled and willing to learn. They benefit from multi-level class structures, where they have opportunities to work with other children of different ages. Senior students have many opportunities to take on responsibilities and leadership roles within the school and in community events. View full school
