Our school was built in 11956 and celebrated its golden jubilee in 2006. Ysgol Glan gele has had numerous extensions and improvements and today we now have 10 classrooms, a library, ICT suite, sensory room, an outdoor classroom, and cwtch self. We also have a dedicated first aid room and a computer room. We are also fortunate to have a well-equipped hall that acts as our dining room, gymnasium, music room, and a venue for whole school collective worship. We are lucky to have large outdoor grounds surrounding our school which we have manipulated to deliver outdoor provisions. We have a large playground area for the children to enjoy along with a pirate ship and a trim trail. We also have our forest schools area, outdoor learning area, and several outdoor classrooms and wooden cabins to be used by classes when needed. We take the safety of your child whilst in school very seriously and we have safeguarding and health and safety policies to ensure all protocols are followed these are reviewed bi-annually both policies are available on the school's website. our school aims to be inclusive and we hold the inclusion quality mark. We hope to make all our children feel welcome and happy and to look forward to their school day. Every child is different and we view differences as an opportunity for adults and children to learn more about over selves. If your child has a disability he or she will be treated equally to other applicants for admission. Before admission, there will normally be a discussion with parents/carers. The headteacher and LA advisers to determine the level of need so that we can make reasonable adjustments to ensure that pupils with disabilities are not placed at a disadvantage. We liaise closely with health visitors and the Conwy child development center. We have completed measures to increase access to the school by pupils with disabilities and have an access plan. Our school is all on one ground floor level and the main entrances and hall all have ramp access. There are toilet facilities for disabled children and adults. Ysgol Ardudwy is a happy, caring, and friendly school. We have high expectations of all our pupils in all aspects of school life. Our aim is that every pupil of all abilities fulfill their highest possible academic potential, but also develop fully as individuals through the varied opportunities and activities the school provides. The School is pleased that the pupils have done well in the examinations this year, despite the problems the school faced following severe storm damage to the school roofs in March. The pupils and staff had to contend with a disruption to the education at a crucial time just before the examinations and being educated at other centers outside the school, together with additional lessons after school in an attempt to recover the learning time lost during the disruption. Congratulations to the pupils on their results. The dedication of both the pupils and staff has been reflected in the positive results received. Following the substantial storm damage in early March, the school is pleased that everyone will be able to return to the site at the beginning of the Autumn Term and that all the teaching rooms will be available. The repairs will not be fully completed until the end of October but the remaining work will not interfere with the running of the school during this period. The Headteacher would like to thank everyone - staff, pupils, and parents - for their patience and co-operation during this difficult and challenging period. Opened in 1937, our school is situated in the residential area of Hall Green, close to its boundary with Sparkhill. Being very close to the main Stratford Road, it is easily accessible and well served by public transport. Currently a two-form entry school, Yorkmead can admit 60 pupils into its Reception classes. At present, there are 470 pupils on the roll, organized into 14 classes of mixed ability, determined by age. Our nursery unit opened in February 2002. This was formerly the caretaker’s house and was re-designed and refurbished to provide 52 part-time places. Our School Motto is ‘Self-belief is the key to success.’ We believe that our main aim at Yorkmead is to unlock the potential in every child so that they can succeed and become the best they can be. Ysgol Gymraeg Blaendulais is located in the village of Seven Sisters in the Dualis Valley. It serves the villages of Crynant, Seven Sisters, Pantyffordd, Onllwyn, Dyffryn Cellwen. The school, which was opened in 1961, is a one-form entry primary school with around 110 children on the roll, in single age group, mixed-ability classes. 5 classrooms are accommodating a Playgroup, our Nursery and Foundation Phase class, and mainstream classes. We have an assembly hall, a separate dining hall, an IT suite, and a library. Ysgol Gymraeg Blaendulais has a friendly, hard-working staff team. Our aim in Ysgol Gymraeg Blaendulais is to provide a firm learning foundation in an environment promoting success for every individual in the establishment. We offer a bilingual education alongside a variety of experiences that broaden horizons. We promote an environment of respect and self-worth when constructing the future together.
