Our Family Learning was established in 2012. Looking back to when it first began, we only had around 5 parents attend, but as the years have moved on the number of parents, guardians, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and so on has increased tremendously. It allows you to work with your child whilst also having fun! So please come along every Thursday and enjoy some quality time with your children but also an opportunity to meet with other parents enjoying a nice cuppa!
Have in place a home school agreement, which stipulates the school commitment parents/guardians commitment, and pupil’s commitment towards developing the whole child. Establish a stable happy environment for all children and encourage self-confidence, self-esteem, self-expression. Provide a balanced and broad-based curriculum that promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental, and physical development of each child.
Prepare each pupil for the opportunities, responsibilities, and experiences of adult life. Ensure that all aspects of the national curriculum are dealt with effectively for all children. Establish a caring community exercising concern and respect for the welfare of others, stressing the importance of good human relations based on sensitivity, tolerance, and goodwill.
Work in partnership with all agencies to achieve the highest quality of education for each child. Be a family that values all its members equally, however different they are from each other, and in which each member has a voice. Recognize and accept the physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social differences of children and their different home backgrounds and consequently accept each child for what he/she is. Educational visits throughout the school year provide wonderful opportunities to extend children’s learning and to enrich their understanding and appreciation of themselves, others, and the world around them. It is widely acknowledged that educational visits can significantly benefit the personal and social development of young people.
