Following the school’s aims, we strive to develop civilized values in every pupil. This entails developing, through the whole curriculum, spiritual, moral, and social aspects in all our pupils. Moreover, all pupils follow the PSE program to develop the aims mentioned. We also have an extensive program of cultural activities, which aims to develop each pupil’s contribution to this community. Every pupil receives the opportunity to partake in musical activities. Parents are encouraged to take an active interest in their children's education and behavior. To this end, Parents' Meetings are held for each year group in turn, and parents are invited to many functions organized by the school during the year. If any matter, educational or personal, causes any concern to a pupil then parents should contact the school immediately. From time to time we will send text messages to inform you of events in school or to draw your attention to certain matters of interest. It is not practical for the school to deliver messages to pupils on every occasion. We appeal to parents to do this in emergency cases only. We do not encourage pupils to bring their phones to school, therefore we ask you not to contact them through this form, except in a serious emergency All private property is the responsibility of the pupil concerned. All items (clothing, bags, etc.,) should be marked for identification purposes. The school does not accept responsibility for any personal items lost. Valuables such as watches and cash should be handed to the member of staff concerned if the pupil cannot safeguard the property. This does not mean that the teacher accepts any responsibility for any losses that may occur. A high standard of behavior is expected on the buses. If a pupil does not conform to this standard it could result in the pupil having to find alternative means of transport. We often hear that early years settings should be communication supportive or communication friendly spaces for children and about the importance of having a communication supportive environment. This means lots of different things... the ways that adults talk with children, the physical environment or the space around us, and the ways we use toys, books, and activities. This factsheet aims to help parents make a communication supportive environment at home. That way they can do their best to make learning to talk and developing their child’s communication skills easy, fun, and rewarding. Children build their abilities to put words together upon their experiences of playing, listening, and understanding words and sentences. Young children start by using single words and gradually put two words together then three and four, using the words they know. Alongside building their sentences, children often use whole expressions that they have heard and learned e.g.: “Where’s-it-gone?” or “Fish and chips”. What a child says is influenced by other skills such as their understanding, vocabulary, memory, ability to get things in the right order, and emotional state. During their primary school years, children typically develop the way they put words together. They gradually use longer sentences and more complex connecting words to help sequence their ideas and explain events. What they say starts to sound well-formed and more grammatical. However, they may still make errors e.g.: “I caught it.” The purpose of our school is to provide a positive, caring, motivating environment that allows children to be challenged in their thinking, strive for continuous self-improvement, and be motivated to be lifelong learners. Ysgol Santes Helen is a Voluntary Aided Roman Catholic Primary School. The school is fully maintained by the Local Education Authority, Gwynedd Council, following the Education Act 1944. Ysgol Santes Helen is the only Catholic school in Wales where the principal language of education is Welsh, a reflection of our position at the heart of a mainly Welsh-speaking community. Ysgol Sant Elfod is a community junior school in Abergele in the county of Conwy, North Wales. We have approximately 300 children aged between 7 and 11 and they are taught in 12 classes. We aim to provide you with regularly updated information about what is happening within our school community. Ysgol Rhys Prichard is a community primary school on the edge of an old market town in the heart of the upper Towy valley, north Carmarthenshire. The school was known as Llandovery County Primary School until December 1994 when it was officially renamed Ysgol Rhys Prichard, Llanymddyfri to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the death of the famous vicar of Llandovery. The main part of the school consists of a single-story building built at the turn of the century to accommodate a County Primary Infants School and a County Primary Junior School. The two schools opened on the 3rd October 1910 and were amalgamated in September 1981 to form a County Primary School. The internal layout consists of a large central hall providing access to five classrooms, a staff room and a headteacher’s study, and two classrooms and toilets adjacent to the main entrances at the front of the school. A new extension has been built at the school which houses four nursery/infant classes and also includes boys and girls changing and showers rooms, a staff room, and an office for the administrative officer. This facility was opened in January 2004. The playground area surrounding the school provides access to the adjacent playing field on one side and the kitchen/dining area on the other. To ensure that each pupil is received into a welcoming and secure atmosphere, where he or she will be given an equal opportunity to fulfill his or her true potential, academically, physically, aesthetically, socially, psychologically, and spiritually. Ysgol Porth Y Felin is a Voluntary controlled School of the Church in Wales and was established in September 1998 following the amalgamation of Ysgol Cadnant, Ysgol Bodlondeb, and Ysgol Gyffin. This absence constitutes an authorized absence. 9 The Headteacher has a discretionary power to grant leave of absence for a family holiday or visit overseas, However, the Headteacher and Governing Body discourage such absence and you should not expect such leave to be granted as of right. Term time leave requests will be considered individually taking account of the child’s age, the time of year, the nature of the holiday, the circumstances of the family and the child’s previous attendance record, and general educational progress. Permission will not be given if it is applied for after the visit or holiday has taken place. Usually, a child will not be granted more than two weeks' leave in any school year. This is at the discretion of the governing body. We appreciate that all family circumstances are different but we want children to be in school as much as possible. Absences during term time can seriously disrupt the continuity of learning. The School must collect and report details of absences by law and so all absence levels are monitored closely.
