Over the months ahead, we intend to collect as many old photographs as possible to be displayed on this page. We are particularly interested in hearing the stories of the school’s first pupils. It gives me great pleasure to present you with the school website for 2015-16. In it, you will be able to read about the school’s aims as well as the ethos and values of the school. All outside doors within the school have been fitted with escape locks which can be opened easily only from the inside in an emergency but cannot be opened from the outside. A fire drill is held once a term when the children are required to leave the building and assemble in a designated place on the schoolyard. Appropriate signs have been placed above the doors in each class. The safety of the child is solely the responsibility of the parents until the doors are officially opened at 8.50 a.m. every morning at which time the school's responsibility for the child commences. Supervisors are employed at lunchtime. However, the headteacher is legally responsible for all the…

This school stands out as one that I would send my children to – it ticks the boxes of friendliness and standards. This school and its approach could be a template for primary education throughout the UK. The children are confident, friendly, open-minded, and polite. Well done all! And it is all of you that makes it!” “The provision for promoting pupils' understanding and experiences of global citizenship are outstanding. Respecting multiculturalism, promoting antiracist attitudes, and developing fair play and equal opportunities are strong elements of the school's culture.” What can be more important than preparing our children for the wider world? It’s a world of exci…

It has amazing views over the Port of Holyhead and the surrounding area. On a clear day, it is possible to see the summit of Snowdon. These early years are so important and crucial in a young child`s life as a child needs much help and support. Here at Ysgol Llanfawr, we are proud to be a close-knit community: a warm and friendly atmosphere is created as a result of the respect we show each other. We are very proud of our young people both past and present and it is pleasing to note that these young people are equally proud of…

Ysgol John Bright is situated in the heart of the North Wales resort town of Llandudno. It is the only English medium high school to serve the town and its hinterland. The school is named after the Victorian radical politician John Bright who came to the town for respite and whose young son was buried here. After almost one hundred years the school had outgrown its previous premises and in September 2004 the new school opened on a 25-acre site with excellent facilities. It was built as part of a PFI project and a facilities management company handles caretaking, cleaning, and catering.
