  3. We are one of Austria's leading universities of applied sciences for management and communication. We work closely with local companies to offer a comprehensive and practice-oriented education for students enrolled in Bachelor's, Masters's, or continuing education programs. The University of Applied Sciences for Management & Communication (FH Wien der WKW) works closely with businesses in diverse industries on numerous projects. Our students must complete an internship, which helps them to put their acquired knowledge into practice. We currently offer 17 Bachelor's and Master's degree programs. The majority of the Bachelor's programs are available in two variants either part-time or full-time, while all Master's degree programs are offered on a part-time basis. Our portfolio also includes ten continuing education programs. These programs allow people with professional experience to gain an academic degree (an MSc, MBA, or as an academic expert). Universities of applied sciences have a particular social responsibility for gender mainstreaming and diversity management, as they play an essential role in the production and distribution of knowledge. FH Wien der WKW, one of Austria's leading universities of applied sciences for management and communication, takes this responsibility seriously and is prepared to face these challenges. Women and men are culturally attributed to specific behaviors, characteristics, and associations– social stereotypes of gender. Gender mainstreaming means consciously recognizing and taking into account social inequalities between women and men in all areas and at all planning and decision-making stages. Diversity management means the targeted awareness and the conscious appreciation of people and their differences as diversity or potential and not as a deficit. This approach aims to perceive and use diversity as an essential resource in organizations as well as dismantle common stereotypes and prejudices that often lead to discrimination. People are not assigned to specific groups, but should be recognized in their diverse facets or dimensions. Our first-degree program in Tourism Management was launched in 1994. Since then, the range of degree programs offered has increased year by year. Today FHWien der WKW offers a total of 17 Bachelor's and Master's degree programs and is one of the leading universities of applied sciences for management and communication in Austria. FH Wien der WKW has been on the market for more than 20 years and is one of Austria's leading universities of applied sciences for management and communication. Close contact with schools, students, and career advisors is significant to us. If you live in Vienna or the surrounding area, we would be pleased to visit your school and present our range of degree programs. Alternatively, school students are very welcome to visit FHWien der WKW. The library is the information center at FH Wien der WKW. The provision of literature, the passing on of knowledge, and information support students, researchers, and teaching staff. The title of Mag. (FH) was awarded to students who completed a degree program at a university of applied sciences until 2007. In the 2007/08 academic year, as part of the Bologna Process, all our academic degrees were converted to the internationally recognized Bachelor's and Master's degree system. Students who complete a Master's degree at FH Wien der WKW are entitled to apply for a doctorate or Ph.D. degree program. Between 1994 and 2007, FH Wien der WKW was spread over different locations in Vienna. All departments of FHWien der WKW moved into the WKO Campus Vienna on Währinger Gürtel in 2007. In 2009, the campus was expanded once again. Today, FHWien der WKW has more than 9,000 m² available for use. WKO campus Vienna also houses WIFI Vienna, the Advertising Academy (Werbeakademie), WIFI Management Forum, and the Hernstein Institute.
  4. FH Campus Wien is divided into the university management departments running the various degree programs and central organizational units (faculties and specialist areas). Subsidiary companies have also been established in the research and development, training, infrastructure, and restaurant areas. The course-providing body of the FH Campus Wien is organized as a registered association. A university council has been set up for the implementation and organization of the teaching and examinations, the head of which is the rector. The works council represents the interests of the workforce and the individual employees about the management. It advises, steers, communicates, and acts as a mediator. The members of the works council consider discretion and confidentiality about the employees' details to be not only their responsibility but is also a requirement. The legal foundations of the works council's activities are ruled by the Labour Constitution Act. In the city and yet surrounded by nature, the FH Campus Wien main campus located on "Altes Landgut" in Vienna's 10th district scores highly with its ideal location. Just 20 minutes from Stephansplatz, FH Campus Wien is easily accessible via public transport: U1 subway station "Reumannplatz", the tram line 67 or the bus line 15 A from the U4 subway station "Meidling" (both stop at "Altes Landgut"). The excellent links to public transport and accessibility by car via the "Verteilerkreis" connects urban location with nature. On the one side of the FH Campus Wien building, you will find the Laser Woods, which invites you to relax with the Bohemian Prater and the Laaerbergbad swimming pool. On the other side of the FH Campus Wien building, the view extends to the Schneeberg, which the students can enjoy from the terrace. With approximately 5,000 students, FH Campus Wien is one of the largest universities in Austria. The rapid growth of the university, which has only existed in its present form since 2001, made a new main building necessary. The new building was opened in 2009. The programs offered at the main campus consist of the Departments of Applied Life Sciences, Building and Design, Engineering, Health, Public Sector, and Social Work. The programs of the Department Applied Life Sciences are still at their locations at the Campus Vienna Biocenter and the BOKU in Muthgasse, where they are strongly networked with biotech companies and research institutes. We aim to provide students with a professional environment in which they can study successfully. Student-centered teaching and learning are thus a particular priority of the university, and we are continually striving to enhance. In the process, lecturers and students alike take responsibility for committing to teaching and learning. Shifting from a theory-based to a practice-oriented teaching approach calls for innovative teaching and learning cultures that encourage students to work autonomously, place problems in perspective, and focus on application. The UAS Studies Act applies to the Universities of Applied Sciences sector. According to these laws, the FH Council is the authority responsible for the accreditation – approval - of FH-degree programs. In particular, it issues guidelines for the accreditation (approval) of FH-degree programs and approves - in the best case - after scrutiny, an FH-degree program with an official notification. This guarantees the quality of the educational provision vis-á-vis the students, the financial backers, the economy, and society. FH Campus Wien is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Austria. In the academic year 2016/17, students can choose from more than 60 bachelor's and master's degree programs and master courses in Applied Life Sciences, Building and Design, Health, Public Sector, Social Work and Engineering. FH Campus Wien works closely with some universities, including the University of Vienna, Medical University of Vienna, BOKU, VetMed, Vienna University of Technology, and the University of Leoben. The therapeutic and diagnostic degree programs in Health, including the training program for midwives, are offered in cooperation with the Vienna Hospital Association (KAV). Public Management was developed in cooperation with the Federal Chancellery, and Tax Management with the Federal Ministry of Finance. Numerous R & D projects in the degree programs and external contract research are conducted through our research societies. FH Campus Wien works closely with a strong network of companies, associations, schools, and public facilities. Also, recognized certifications are proof of FH Campus Wien's high standards in quality management.
  5. Our student body is comprised of future academic specialists and management staff for the industry. All our Degree Programmes focus on the core areas of entrepreneurial success. The six Bachelor and six Master programs in business and technology are organized timewise to be compatible with full-time employment. Students can begin an extra-occupational Bachelor's degree program directly after completing secondary school – with no prior vocational experience – in preparation for their career early. Two Bachelor's degree programs are run as full-time programs, with classes from Monday to Thursday. A university of applied sciences only becomes a place of appreciative and professional knowledge transfer through its students and lecturers. This is why we concentrate on ensuring service quality – only through quality can we create an attractive teaching and learning environment where students and lecturers can perform successfully. Student evaluation at CAMPUS 02 aims to allow students to give feedback on study conditions and organization anonymously. This way, you are always integrated into the optimization of teaching and organizational processes. Around 300 full-time and part-time lecturers integrate their expertise and experience into teaching at CAMPUS 02. Not only do students benefit from their experience, but also numerous cooperation partners and companies. A dynamic range of services is particularly essential for part-time lecturers in order to ensure smooth teaching operations. The CAMPUS 02 library includes approximately 11,000 printed media. E-journals and e-books complement this collection. The library is located on the first floor of the CAMPUS 02 building. It is home to collections of the Degree Programmes in International Marketing & Sales Management, Financial Accounting & Management Accounting, and the majority of the Degree Programme in Innovation Management's, Automation Technology's and Information Technologies & Business Informatics' collections. At CAMPUS 02, students are the center of attention. The university of applied sciences is small enough to feel like home and offers a close-knit community of staff, lecturers, and students. Direct contacts in the offices of the degree program, but also staff members in the central services, always put effort into providing optimal service so that especially extra-occupational can embed their degree studies into their working lives. The results are made available to the heads of the degree program, specialist field coordinators of your degree program, and representatives of the academic year. All degree programs discuss the evaluation results and possible measures to be taken with student representatives. The settings of the meetings can vary. In collaboration with the Austrian National Union of Students, CAMPUS 02 organizes personality development seminars and other specific seminars during the summer holidays for students. This allows students to experience an in-depth educational program – over and above the teaching provided within the framework of their respective degree programs. The Austrian National Union of Students is a federal body of representatives advocating students' interests at every university/university of applied sciences in Austria. It is directly elected by students and is legally based on the Student Union Act Student Union Election Regulations and the Statute of the ÖH (Satzung der ÖH). To maintain a competitive edge, companies require innovative ideas, new and improved products or services, and the right market approach. As a company-oriented university of applied sciences, CAMPUS 02 provides comprehensive services for the industry. Therefore, CAMPUS 02's research mission is to actively support Styrian companies – from the idea to the market. At CAMPUS 02, we emphasize the inextricable link between our R&D activities and their use. With innovative approaches on a scientific level, structured procedures, and practice-oriented solution competences, we provide comprehensive services for the industry. Our R&D approach's particular strengths are creating and realizing practicable concepts into functioning prototypes and developing useful sector-independent tools for businesses. Innovative and sustainable ideas are at the heart of new and improved products and services. CAMPUS 02 has the methodical knowledge for systematically generating ideas and supporting all topics – from the idea to its realization. Intending to increase competitiveness, our expertise ensures a structured approach to new product concepts, improvements, and innovative services. Numerous new technologies are developing at a rapid pace and are offering new options in production and services. For small and middle-sized businesses (SMBs), it is challenging to find appropriate technologies next to their everyday activities. CAMPUS 02 supports the SMB industry in Styria with expert knowledge and state-of-the-art technology. Based on our expert knowledge, we can recommend the most economical new technology and create a prototype to accommodate the requirements of Styrian businesses. In parallel, CAMPUS 02 advances knowledge through implementation-oriented research projects and immediately transfers that research to the industry.
  6. As a research-intensive public university with a keen awareness of its obligations to society, WU prepares its students to take on responsibility in business and society. At WU, young people learn the business and economics skills they need to contribute productively to facing today's and tomorrow's economic, social, legal, and ecological challenges using future-oriented expertise and responsible business behavior. WU sees itself as an international university, as an essential hub for global exchange, and as a place where students and teachers work together. Open-mindedness and diversity were already among the university's critical values at WU's founding in 1898. WU is committed to fairness and equal opportunities, scientific integrity, academic freedom, and especially plurality in topics and methodology. WU is a responsible university. This means that WU accepts responsibility for the quality of its performance in research, teaching, and third mission activities, but also that it acts in a socially responsible manner in all that it does. One of WU's goals is to achieve and maintain a place among the world's leading institutions of higher education. WU is working to strengthen its global profile by offering a range of English-taught master's programs and by emphasizing internationalization in its research activities. WU's triple accreditation by EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA – the three first international accreditations for business and economics universities – is a testimonial of WU's high-quality standards. Fewer than 1% of universities worldwide can claim triple accreditation by EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA. WU is one of only two universities in the German-speaking world to belong to this exclusive group. WU's excellent international reputation is reflected in its student population: Roughly one in four students on campus has come to study at WU from abroad. Excellent research is another chief cornerstone of WU's mission. This includes strengthening WU's profile as a research university and participating in public discourse with society and exchanging knowledge with all relevant stakeholders. Continuous work to strengthen and stimulate research is one of WU's critical priorities for the future. Apart from its impressive, award-winning architecture, WU's modern Campus also boasts a range of attractive dining options and publicly accessible grounds that encourage students, staff, and area residents to explore Campus WU and enjoy its unique atmosphere. Campus WU provides meeting places and open spaces and has given Vienna's second district a whole new neighborhood. Education and teaching encompass all of WU's activities associated with imparting knowledge to students, developing skills independently, and encouraging lifelong learning. WU is aware that it is teaching. As a result, its graduates, many of whom are the managers of the future and will be shaping society for years to come, have a significant impact on society. Effective as of January 1, 2017, the University Board approved the following amendments to the Organizational Structure Plan (published in the WU Bulletin on December 17, 2003, issue 9, no. 60, last amended as published in the WU Bulletin on October 28, 2015, issue 5, no. 27), on December 19, 2016, after the presentation by the Rector's Council and acknowledgment by the Senate following § 21 (1) line 1 of the 2002 Universities Act (Universitätsgesetz). The realization of a new WU campus represents an important step in the university's development and a further milestone toward reaching its goal of further improving its top position among European business schools. The central building, the Library & Learning Center, is surrounded by five building complexes designed by internationally renowned architects. 35,000m2 of the campus area is built up, and the remaining 55,000 m2 are publicly accessible grounds. In addition to traditional academic infrastructure facilities like classrooms, libraries, and offices, the Campus also offers several open facilities: restaurants, cafes, a bakery, a supermarket, bookstores, a childcare center, and an athletic center. Especially during the summer and semester breaks, many spaces on Campus are available for rent as event venues.
  7. The University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (UWM) was founded on 1 September 1999. The establishment resulted from merging three institutions of higher education in Olsztyn, i.e. the Academy of Agriculture and Technology, the Higher School of Pedagogy, and Warmian Theological Institute. At first, in 1999, there were 12 faculties, 32 branches of study, and 24.500 students at UWM. The University also had a right to grant doctoral degrees in 13 scientific disciplines, and postdoctoral degrees in 6 branches. According to the University’s Act of Establishment, the position of the first Rector of UWM was taken by Prof. Ryszard Górecki, Ph.D. The University has been settled in Kortowo – an academic campus that used to belong to the Academy of A&T. UWM has undergone an intense transformation since its beginnings. Achieving such progress would not be possible without the funds of the European Union. The educational and scientific bases of the University have been significantly reinforced, for example by purchasing high-tech laboratory equipment. Over the years, UWM's offer was extended to new branches of study, and consequently, new faculties were established. Currently, there are 17 faculties at UWM, 11 of which have full academic rights, namely the right to grant post-doctoral degrees (in 13 disciplines). Furthermore, the doctoral degree can be granted at 16 faculties, within 24 disciplines. In the Academic Year 2014/15, 27.000 students are educated at 17 faculties, and 65 branches of study, within either full-time or part-time studies. Additionally, there are also 600 doctoral candidates and 1500 post-graduate students.

View full university
  10. View full university
  11. 12. View full university
