We are one of Austria's leading universities of applied sciences for management and communication. We work closely with local companies to offer a comprehensive and practice-oriented education for students enrolled in Bachelor's, Masters's, or continuing education programs.
The University of Applied Sciences for Management & Communication (FH Wien der WKW) works closely with businesses in diverse industries on numerous projects. Our students must complete an internship, which helps them to put their acquired knowledge into practice.
We currently offer 17 Bachelor's and Master's degree programs. The majority of the Bachelor's programs are available in two variants either part-time or full-time, while all Master's degree programs are offered on a part-time basis. Our portfolio also includes ten continuing education programs. These programs allow people with professional experience to gain an academic degree (an MSc, MBA, or as an academic expert).
Universities of applied sciences have a particular social responsibility for gender mainstreaming and diversity management, as they play an essential role in the production and distribution of knowledge.
FH Wien der WKW, one of Austria's leading universities of applied sciences for management and communication, takes this responsibility seriously and is prepared to face these challenges.
Women and men are culturally attributed to specific behaviors, characteristics, and associations– social stereotypes of gender.    Gender mainstreaming means consciously recognizing and taking into account social inequalities between women and men in all areas and at all planning and decision-making stages. Diversity management means the targeted awareness and the conscious appreciation of people and their differences as diversity or potential and not as a deficit. This approach aims to perceive and use diversity as an essential resource in organizations as well as dismantle common stereotypes and prejudices that often lead to discrimination. People are not assigned to specific groups, but should be recognized in their diverse facets or dimensions.
Our first-degree program in Tourism Management was launched in 1994. Since then, the range of degree programs offered has increased year by year. Today FHWien der WKW offers a total of 17 Bachelor's and Master's degree programs and is one of the leading universities of applied sciences for management and communication in Austria.
FH Wien der WKW has been on the market for more than 20 years and is one of Austria's leading universities of applied sciences for management and communication. Close contact with schools, students, and career advisors is significant to us. If you live in Vienna or the surrounding area, we would be pleased to visit your school and present our range of degree programs. Alternatively, school students are very welcome to visit FHWien der WKW.
The library is the information center at FH Wien der WKW. The provision of literature, the passing on of knowledge, and information support students, researchers, and teaching staff.
The title of Mag. (FH) was awarded to students who completed a degree program at a university of applied sciences until 2007. In the 2007/08 academic year, as part of the Bologna Process, all our academic degrees were converted to the internationally recognized Bachelor's and Master's degree system. Students who complete a Master's degree at FH Wien der WKW are entitled to apply for a doctorate or Ph.D. degree program.
Between 1994 and 2007, FH Wien der WKW was spread over different locations in Vienna. All departments of FHWien der WKW moved into the WKO Campus Vienna on Währinger Gürtel in 2007. In 2009, the campus was expanded once again. Today, FHWien der WKW has more than 9,000 m² available for use. WKO campus Vienna also houses WIFI Vienna, the Advertising Academy (Werbeakademie), WIFI Management Forum, and the Hernstein Institute.
