About Me

  1. Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), officially established on 16 February 1984, is the sixth Malaysian public University. The only University set up to specialize solely in management education from the beginning of its establishment. A restructuring of the university academic system was undertaken to prepare a vital structure that would enable the increase in the number of postgraduate students and the UUM flag's hoisting in the international academic arena. The University sees the need to be global in practice and content since the knowledge it generates and purveys transcends and extends far beyond Malaysia's borders. In this restructuring exercise, 13 faculties were merged and streamed into three prominent Academic Colleges, namely UUM COB (UUM College of Business), UUM CAS (UUM College of Arts and Sciences), and UUM COLGIS (UUM College of Law, Government and International Studies). The University provides several facilities for sports and recreational activities for all students and staff to develop a physically and mentally healthy community. In its quest to develop well-rounded individuals, the University has an extensive array of sports and recreational facilities, which include an Olympic-size swimming pool, a mini-stadium with a state-of-the-art running track, an archery range, shooting range, badminton, tennis, basketball, volleyball, rugby, hockey, softball, handball and netball courts as well as football fields. UUM is the only University in Malaysia with a go-kart circuit and provides recreational facilities for canoeing, jogging, cycling, jungle trekking, climbing, abseiling, and camping. University Utara Malaysia was established to develop and promote management education in the country primarily. Its academic programs are mainly geared towards providing a broad spectrum of academic knowledge and intellectual skills in the area of management, accounting, economics, information technology, public administration, human resource management, entrepreneurship, finance and banking, law, marketing, management of technology, communication, social work, multimedia, education, decision science, international affairs, business management, tourism, muamalat administration, development management, logistics and transportation, hospitality, risk, and insurance management, media technology, agribusiness management science, business mathematics, industrial statistics, and counseling. In addition to its core business of providing quality teaching, conducting extensive research, and promoting a culture of scholarly publications, the University will contribute to communities' social, economic, and intellectual development beyond the campus. The University has a crucial role in engaging the surrounding local communities in community-based projects, in developing or strengthening community-university partnerships through collaboration with other government agencies or the private sector. 18. The International Islamic School (IIS) was established in September 1998 and was located then at Batu 14, Jalan Gombak. It was the fruit of years of study by Muslim scholars from various parts of the world who taught in the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) who thirst for a model integrated Islamic school that could serve their children and also those of others, especially Muslim expatriates. Through the Malaysian National Curriculum and the Cambridge International Curriculum which are being implemented in Sekolah Setiabudi (Setiabudi) and International Islamic School Malaysia (IISM) respectively, coupled with various Islamic programs, ISSB manages to attract a large number of students both locally and internationally. By establishing IISM Kuantan Branch in September 2013, the company is moving forward to have more branches all over Malaysia. Our schools have the best attributes of private institutions, i.e., small class sizes, stressing high academic performance, trained and experienced teachers, providing high-quality programs, and having state-of-the-art school facilities. As the Company managing private schools, international schools, and A-Levels programs in the Klang Valley, ILESB is far more affordable than others comparatively. The purpose of the Business Plan for the fiscal year 2016 is for the Company to plan and strategize actions in our quest to bring the Company to a greater height. ILESB will be more aggressive to directly compete with its competitors by improving and upgrading the teaching and learning system, staff qualifications and skills as well as facilities including more extensive usage of ICT in the delivery of lessons. International Islamic School Malaysia (IISM) and Sekolah Setiabudi (SS), have been operating in the tranquil area of Gombak which is located in the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur since the year 1998 (IISM), 2000 (SS Primary), and 2005 (SS Secondary). With a humble start of 30 students in 1998, the numbers of students enrolled in early 2014 have multiplied to 1800 students that come from 47 countries including Malaysia. The positive increment of students enrollment indicates that the academic and non-academic teams have their strengths to get the quality of these campuses up to par with the international standards which not only enables each campus to remain its good reputation until today but to pursue and expand the market shortly. Both of the schools have provided a conducive learning environment that promotes the schools’ vision and missions in a way of educating and inspiring each youth to become a thoughtful, independent, plus, well-rounded individual along with good academic performance and personality. Here, the greater emphasis on Islamic values and perspectives have been applied in the formal education, i.e., the Hikmah program, and the informal education which happens outside the classroom, for instance, Congregational Prayers, Usrah, Ibadah Camps, Tahfeez program etcetera. Our curricula are constantly being monitored by teams of educators from the Kulliyyah of Education, International Islamic University Malaysia to preserve the state of the art of teaching methodology and curricular contents. With the understanding that young people tend to have a greater desire for outdoor activities, comprehensive facilities for the sport and games are available in our school compounds such as swimming pool, football field, futsal pitch, basketball and badminton courts, plus, archery and fencing equipment. Besides, almost all the classes have been equipped with ICT facilities apart from computer and science laboratories.

The emphasis will be on creating a family environment within a structured school routine, with a traditional British House system fostering a strong feeling of belonging and community. With a long history of educating Malaysians and other international students in England, our sister campus in Bandar Enstek is a natural extension designed to further the College's international reputation and increase the number of pupils who can benefit from an Epsom College education. The project was made possible through the joint funding and support of the College's network of high-profile Old Epsomians living and working in Malaysia. Senior School teaching staff, Housemasters, and Housemistresses, together with tutors and their families, reside on-site. There is also a Prefect system, modeled on the successful structure at Epsom College, within both the school and the individual Houses. In addition to full boarding, weekly boarding, which was pioneered by Epsom College in the UK, is an option. This is proving to be popular with parents who want a British boarding lifestyle for their children without having to travel long distances. Epsom College in Malaysia will ultimately cater to some 900 boys and girls aged 11 to 18 in a predominantly boarding Senior School, with an additional 80 students educated in the Prep School at Bandar Enstek. The impressive Senior School campus, developed on a green-field site, comprises ultra-modern hi-tech, environmentally-friendly buildings, with specialized facilities for music, drama, and sport, the latter including a floodlit astroturf pitch, a cricket pitch with a built-in wicket, sports hall, a swimming pool, and hard courts. There are also dedicated science and art departments. The Prep School at Bandar Enstek is also a small community of children between 3-11 years who share facilities and spaces that are specially designed for their learning and pastoral needs. From a carefully designed playground, with a sandpit, gardens, with climbing and ball games, as well as opportunities to access the Senior School's impressive facilities for art and sports, our Prep School is a very special place for learning. To be a distinctive learning community that synthesizes the best elements of the Epsom boarding and day education with the values, expectations, and traditions of our international setting and in which all members of the community are helped to aspire to high achievement in all they do, to seize opportunities, to develop emotional resilience and to support others in our collective drive to make a difference. At ECM we treat everyone with courtesy and respect. We consciously avoid hurting others, in mind or body. We remember always to treat others as we would like them to treat us. At ECM we always put others before ourselves. We look for ways in which we can help others to grow. We think not what can the College do for us, but what we can do for the College. At ECM we recognize that diligence and effort are the foundations of success. We strive to do everything to the best of our ability and not to give up when the going gets tough. At ECM we care for our environment and we extend this care to the world at large. We avoid waste, we recycle, we develop awareness and we care for animals. At ECM we are modest about our talents and mindful of the talents of others. We celebrate success in all its forms, but remember that we must never err into arrogance.
