Tunku Putra School which is housed on a beautiful and spacious campus surrounded by greenery offers a wide range of activities and experiences that will not only prepare our children for the future but also make their school life more enjoyable and rewarding. Since its inception in 1996, Tunku Putra School has built upon a solid foundation of academic excellence to create an inclusive environment in which all of our students feel welcome and valued. This year marks a significant milestone for Tunku Putra School as it embarks on its next journey in educational growth with the signing of a Management Agreement between CMSE and HELP. HELP has been successful in running the Help University, which has over 9,000 students, manages two international schools – in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru collectively having over 2,000 students. We strongly believe that this partnership will act as a catalyst for the development of Tunku Putra School with the promise of delivering excellent academic performance and good quality education by capitalizing on the school’s existing holistic learning approach. It will further enhance our vision, ‘To build on our reputation as one of Malaysia’s most prestigious education providers for National and International students from Kindergarten to Secondary graduation.’ We look forward to working with you and your children in making a difference in their lives. Tunku Putra School’s philosophy is founded on the belief that the real purpose of schools is to help children learn academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. This purpose is best achieved through a holistic approach which reflects the contemporary view that learning must be active, engaging, relevant, interesting, challenging but achievable and meaningful to the learner. A premium is placed on the development of inquiry, adaptability, cooperation, tolerance, mutual respect, and the capacity for flexibility and resilience. Underpinning our philosophy is the belief that every student is a unique individual who can be helped to achieve their potential with support and encouragement in a nurturing educational environment. The School is located on a splendid, purpose-built, spacious campus on the edge of the delightful city of Kuching. All classrooms are fully air-conditioned and well-resourced and as a minimum, all have a computer, printer, and a data projector, while an increasing number are equipped with interactive Smart Boards. Students all enjoy at least one lesson per week in the well-stocked library. There are two dedicated Computer suites and specialist subject rooms for Science, Drama, Art, and Music. Classes move to these areas during the timetabled periods. Individual or small group teaching spaces are provided for instrumental music and English as a Second Language lesson. As part of the learning for the whole school, opportunities are created across the curriculum for students to develop Personal Values (Qualities) that will help them on their journey through life as individuals and citizens. These Personal Values include adaptability, communication, cooperation, inquiry, morality, resilience, respect, and thoughtfulness. ‘Our goal, and the purpose of the education system, is to equip our students holistically to allow them to succeed in the 21st century, with all of the opportunities and challenges that this new era presents.’ Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013 – 2025
