Our school was built in the 1950s so the style of it is from that time. We don’t have open plan areas or modern-looking rooms. However, we do have big, bright classrooms, a fabulous assembly hall with a stage, a well-stocked library, and one of the biggest school grounds in Edinburgh. We have a playground, an astroturf, a football pitch, a running track in the Summer and we have our very own wood. Here at Longstone, we use a variety of teaching methods to deliver the most appropriate learning experiences for our pupils. Pupils learn at different rates, have differing abilities, and have different learning styles which we take into account by using a responsive approa…

Longfield Middle School first opened in 1935. Its first Headteacher was Miss Holliday. The school is steeped in traditions some of which are still evident today. From the time it has opened it has always had a Head boy and Head girl as well as Deputies. The School Motto is “Think of Others” It emerged when Miss Holliday was drawing school rules, trying to make them few and as reasonable as they could be. Her nephew (who was also a teacher at the school) said “why not end with ‘Think of Others’ because it is the basis for all rules.” Thus it summed up the rules and proved to be an excellent school motto. At Longfield Primary School we believe that there are clear benef…

London Christian Learning Centre was started in 1990 through the home-school of the Bolus family. Rev. Ricardo Bolus and his wife, Ida Bolus, founded the school in Finsbury Park, North London. They pioneered the school with their children and later partnered with other missionary parents in training their children. After much prayer and waiting, in June 2005, LCLC obtained the DFES registration and was officially recognized by the government as an Independent school. The school is now situated at 639-643 Romford Road, Manor Park, London E12 5AD where we are hoping to enlarge our facilities. With a humble beginning of just six students, the school has grown. We believ…
