The first impulse for a Steiner School in Queensland arose in the late 1970s when Anthroposophical study groups' activities inspired the seed thought of such an endeavor. In the early 1980's several workshops were organized, and speakers engaged in promoting the idea and ideals of Steiner Education. The first workshop was in October 1982 with Miss Sylvia Brose, of the Glenaeon Steiner School in Sydney. This workshop attracted many people and generated much public interest. After this workshop with Miss Brose, a study group began, which focused explicitly on Waldorf education's nature. From this, the Rudolf Steiner Education Group Brisbane, the school's governing body, was…

We strive to develop self-directed, determined, courageous, and skillful young men and women of substance who will make a positive difference to their communities now and in the future. The College community values maturity and integrity as the hallmarks of character-based leadership. As I have often said, I want students to leave the campus at the end of the day with a smile on their face and thei…

The school seeks to form students as candidates for Heaven, each one loved and respected as a unique person - indeed a child of God. To this end, we train the students to seek what is right, fair, and beautiful, educating them in an atmosphere of Catholic culture where the Catholic Faith is taught in its fulness, the life of virtue seriously pursued and academic excellence promoted as a real and great human value. Our patroness and inspiration are St Mary of the Cross, the first Australian-born canonized saint. Saint Mary MacKillop Colleges, Wagga Wagga, was founded in 2007 by Bill and Joanne Andrews as an independent school in the Catholic tradition. Bill and Joanne An…

From the moment I joined the Ruyton community, I realized a dynamic and engaging learning community where girls come first. A place where girls and young women have the opportunity to dream, discover, and develop as capable and confident young women with the support of an engaged community. Mrs. Charlotte Anderson founded Ruyton in 1878, a woman of great courage and determination who believed in girls. Her vision laid Ruyton's reputation for sound scholarship, opportunity, and challenge for girls maintained by those who follow in her footsteps. This belief is still at the heart of all we do today. We foster each girl's individuality in a caring and safe environment, nu…
