- At Reedham Park we prove that an excellent independent education need not cost you a fortune. We offer a traditional, no-frills, preparatory school experience at a fraction of the fees charged by other independent schools in the area. Our curriculum is broad and fulfilling, from introducing the children to times tables in Reception to learning Shakespeare and Latin by the time they leave us. Thus our founding principle of ‘delivering an exceptional yet affordable education to local children’ remains to this day. With our classes rarely exceeding eighteen children we support and challenge each child so that they leave us as confident, articulate, and well-rounded young individuals. Throughout their time with us, they are encouraged to reach their full potential and are thoroughly prepared for the entrance requirements of their chosen senior schools. Whole School Aims: To provide a challenging, yet supportive environment to stimulate, maintain and develop, a lively enquiring mind. To encourage all pupils to reach their true potential and eventually become independent learners who value learning with and from others, ie have a positive attitude to life-long learning. To value application, perseverance, initiative, and independence of thought and action, as well as co-operative endeavors. To develop in pupils a sense of moral values which can form a framework for a sense of own worth, and relationships with others, so as students become responsible members of society. To develop in pupils a positive attitude towards themselves and others with a strong sense of self-respect. Also to develop a sense of respect for other peoples’ property, ideas, and beliefs irrespective of gender, race, disability or academic achievement, etc. To appreciate human achievements, failures, and aspirations. To develop positive attitudes towards and concerns for the environment. To offer a broad-based curriculum to facilitate the acquisition of knowledge, promote enjoyment in learning, and provide knowledge/skills to equip students for their subsequent learning experiences at senior school and generally, in leisure and work, as active, confident, and responsible members of a rapidly developing society. To develop a school community that affords equal value to all its members is seen to be just and encourages mutual respect, concern for others, and truthfulness. To foster close relationships between the school, the pupils’ homes, and the local community. Reedham Park prides itself on offering an extremely broad and balanced curriculum, clearly focused on literacy and numeracy, which enables our children to achieve very high standards by the time they leave school. However, in addition to the traditional core subjects, our curriculum also includes subjects not usually taught or studied in such depth at the primary level, including Latin and Classical Studies, Art History, and the History of Music and its Appreciation. - The school seeks to form students as candidates for Heaven, each one loved and respected as a unique person - indeed a child of God. To this end, we train the students to seek what is right, fair, and beautiful, educating them in an atmosphere of Catholic culture where the Catholic Faith is taught in its fulness, the life of virtue seriously pursued and academic excellence promoted as a real and great human value. Our patroness and inspiration are St Mary of the Cross, the first Australian-born canonized saint. Saint Mary MacKillop Colleges, Wagga Wagga, was founded in 2007 by Bill and Joanne Andrews as an independent school in the Catholic tradition. Bill and Joanne Andrews became increasingly concerned about the state of Catholic education, and they saw a need for a school dedicated to sound Catholic formation and solid academic teaching. The Andrews have worked to make this vision a reality. After extensive prayer and consultation with priests, religious and interested laity, Bill and Joanne realized that the venture was in accord with God'sGod's Will. Several public meetings were held to gauge public interest, and the Conventual Sisters of St Dominic and lay teachers agreed to teach in the school. Although outside the Catholic School System, the Colleges are regarded as an essential means for the spread of the Catholic Faith through the cooperation of dedicated priests, religious and lay-people. Our teachers and ancillary staff are committed to the Catholic faith and seek to adhere to the Church'sChurch's requirements. Saint Mary MacKillop Colleges desires to serve all Catholic children. To this end, the school is committed to helping all families, particularly those blessed with many children and lesser financial means. The school's further growth and development rely on the generosity of our benefactors in both monetary and prayerful support. Our benefactors are remembered in weekly Masses at school and in daily prayers.
