- Over the last eighty years, Gunnersbury Catholic School has provided a truly outstanding education for Catholic Boys in West London and beyond. As we embrace the ever-changing opportunities and challenges of the 21st century, the traditions and values of Gunnersbury Catholic School at our formation in 1932 are still very apt and remain evident within the school today. At Gunnersbury Catholic School successes and achievements in all spheres are proudly celebrated by the boys. Gunnersbury Catholic School has maintained seventy years of tradition in providing education to the boys of Brentford and District. We form part of the Diocese of Westminster's mission educating young people in the whole of London, north of the Thames. Gunnersbury Catholic School's desire to continuously improve the learning opportunities for its pupils is reflected in the school's mission statement "Gunnersbury Catholic School strives to educate all its pupils within an environment where the Catholic traditions of learning, truth, justice, respect, and community are promoted. It encourages all to engage in as broad an interpretation of education as is possible, and one which is in keeping with the motto 'Ad Altiora' - ‘To Higher Things.’” Gunnersbury provides its pupils with a rich and diverse curriculum. Our teachers are experts in and passionate about their subject specialisms and learning (both inside and outside the classroom) ventures beyond the examination specifications. At Gunnersbury, we aim to inspire in our pupils a love for learning and discovery. We regularly review and self evaluate to provide learning opportunities that meet the needs and interests of all learners, to develop each pupil's knowledge, experience, imagination, and intercultural understanding, at the same time fostering an awareness of moral values and a capacity for enjoyment which will enable him to be an active participant in a global society.
