About Me

  1. Coram Deo Academy is an accredited, non-denominational, private school serving Christian families at three Dallas/Ft locations. Worth metroplex. We desire to collaborate with parents in training their children to be ethical servant-leaders and wise thinkers who will shape culture for the glory of God. Apart from Christ, we cannot have true wisdom. The mission of Coram Deo Academy is to "train ethical servant-leaders and wise thinkers who will shape culture for the glory of God". Coram Deo Academy educates youth in a historic Christian worldview through a rigorous classical curriculum and partners with parents committed to their Biblically ordained role as their children's primary instructors. CDA will focus on people, programs, and resources to accomplish its mission: By supporting an excellent, market-compensated, and distinctly Christian faculty trained in their field through stimulating professional development and frequent collaborative opportunities, By implementing a district-wide approach to spiritual development that equips students to love the Lord their God with all their heart, mind, soul, and strength (Mark 12:30), by ensuring that regular opportunities exist for students to participate in the great spiritual disciplines, by mentoring students towards growth in the spiritual life, by responding pastorally to the needs of students and faculty, and by communicating the spiritual needs of the student body with teachers, staff, and administration, By implementing a district-wide approach to character development that equips students to love their neighbors as themselves (Mark 12:31), by providing opportunities to love and care for other believers on each campus, by emphasizing servant leadership as modeled by Jesus Christ, by celebrating the fruit of the Spirit in the lives of our students, and by presenting opportunities to serve, shape, and evangelize the world around us, By mentoring parents and optimizing collaboration through open communication that is frequent, timely, and relevant, by providing classical Christian training to parents, and by offering instructional resources to families to strengthen in-home instruction, By increasing stakeholder knowledge of classical Christian education and by creating and refining both our methods of instruction and curriculum materials in order to promote better the knowledge and love of truth, beauty, and goodness, By establishing athletics as an integral part of student development through a culture of competitive excellence, that is Kingdom centered, principle-driven, and people-focused, By providing a cohesive fine arts program that ministers to families, fosters the whole student, and functions as a Christian outreach to our community, and by helping the students understand that their creativity is a gift from the Creator, By ensuring standardized and well-managed operations, governed by policy, transparent to Board oversight, and flexible enough to meet the needs of a growing school, By building and maintaining attractive, CDA-branded facilities through good stewardship to have optimized learning and extra-curricular environments, including flexible specialized-needs space, athletic space with visual appeal, timely renovations, adequate security, and managing traffic flow, Creating an integrated development program coordinated to encourage stewardship giving and grants for capital improvements, operational needs, financial aid, debt reduction, and endowments from both internal and external friends of the school. Coram Deo Academy's collaborative approach to education, founded on the conviction that parents have the primary responsibility for their children's education, creates a true parent-teacher partnership. A CDA education requires a level of parental involvement second only to full-time homeschooling. All of the material is taught initially in the classroom by highly qualified CDA instructors. Students then complete work on their at-home days with the supervision and support of their parents. Parents can reinforce the concepts, extend and enrich the content being studied, and make sure each student is fully prepared each day. Coram Deo Academy is committed to the continued development of students outside the home and classroom. The lessons learned around the dinner table, discovered through biblical readings, and taught in the classroom need an extended platform for full development. The challenges and conflicts provided by athletics provide that platform. Our programs are designed to assist in the development of character and integrity in our students. These traits are encouraged and developed in a safe environment with like-minded coaches who support parental authority. Our athletic philosophy is principle-driven, development purposed, and effort rewarded. We believe the practice of biblical principles will create the discipline needed to live a successful life for Christ. We believe the combination of academic and athletic programs provides a useful tool in developing a well-rounded person. View full school

  3. Here, you can reach your highest potential, participate in sports and activities, and make lifelong friendships. Our students study on two picturesque and complementary campuses in San Marino, California, and Rimrock, Arizona. Southwestern's vision is to offer American and international students personalized, stimulating classes and supportive, nurturing care that allows individual student success, understanding of diverse cultures, and preparation for college and life. Southwestern offers and shall continue to offer programs to strengthen students through small classes—typically of eight to twelve students—with personalized lessons, achievement grouping, two unique campuses in safe environments, and especially by supporting student achievements through an involved, nurturing, caring staff who create an environment for individual student success. Southwestern balances enrollments by actively promoting cultural diversity and social heterogeneity in its student body. We seek to admit motivated, successful students who want smaller classes and personalized instruction. We also believe in giving a chance to students who may have experienced unsuccessful schooling elsewhere when they have the abilities and willingness to try. We believe in giving students love and encouragement to overcome obstacles and provide and stimulate participation in a wide variety of activities and athletics that they might not encounter in a larger setting. We work with students who want to be here and help their fellow students. If a student continues to hurt the community, we will help find a more appropriate placement for that student. Our staff decisions about students will be based on each case's assessment, rather than a comparison with rigid standards. We will work to recruit American and international students who will benefit from and add to our school. Support and encouragement for students will be our standard in all academic and disciplinary decisions. We will remove obstacles from students who want to reach their full potentials and encourage students at each step. We will pay special attention to each individual, particularly those needing our guidance. We shall keep building our caring and love of students, using patience and the extra time we gain because of our small class sizes. Our object is never to fail students unless they give us no choice but to help them be successful. This takes all our best teaching skills, and we are pledged to use those skills. Maintenance and enhancement of our two campuses will continue to build the most attractive, safe, comfortable, complete facilities possible. You will arrive at Southwestern as a citizen of your country and leave as a citizen of the world. As you interact with students from different cultures, you will gain a new perspective and make treasured friendships that reach across international borders. Southwestern offers dozens of opportunities beyond schoolwork. You may be active in clubs, create art and music, participate in student government, join our sports teams, and donate your time in community service. Students celebrate several special events, and field trips are regularly scheduled to take advantage of the area's learning opportunities.

  7. After spending over forty years in education, next to Arı Primary School and Arı High School, an investment in higher education and research became inevitable. This endeavor was realized through the collaboration and genuine contribution of all the teaching and administrative staff and the thousands of young people who have attended these schools and their parents. This was the source of the motivation that led to the establishment of Çankaya University, the last link in our educational project. On 9 July 1997, Sıtkı Alp Education Foundation was ratified through the Turkish National Assembly decree number 4282, published in the Official News Paper number 23050, dated 15 July 1997. The official establishment of Çankaya University was finalized through the Higher Education Council decision number 16641, dated 27 August 1997, and the university commenced its functions in the autumn of the same year. When civilization and technology have reached their zenith in an age of competition, borders between nations have diminished and now are almost invisible. Each nation is trying to be a center of excellence. Education, reliable and efficient education, is undoubtedly the basis for such excellence. With this goal in mind, a community of educators trained at academic institutions of high reputation worldwide has been set up. This goal is to train Çankaya University students in the best way possible through well-developed curricula in various fields.

Kingston International School offers an IB-PYP bilingual (English/Putonghua) program for students aged 1 to 11 years of age. Kingston has three campuses - the Kindergarten and Children's Centre which houses our early year's program for children 1 to 4 years of age, a Lower Primary campus for students from Year 1 to Year 3, and an Upper Primary campus for students from Year 4 to Year 6. Although we have 3 campuses we are still a small school with a community feel. We maintain small class sizes and have an English and a Putonghua class teacher for each class. Kingston has been an authorized IB-PYP school since 2004. The philosophy of the PYP is infused in all aspects of our school. Teachers receive IB-PYP training and ongoing support from our PYP coordinators. At Kingston, we value teachers who are passionate, enthusiastic and true lifelong learners. Teachers that thrive in a small school environment and value teamwork both in the classroom and as a whole school are ideal Kingston teachers. Our teaching team is comprised of English and Putonghua teachers working side by side in the classroom so strong interpersonal skills and evidence of a high level of collaborative planning are essential.
  23. Kingston is comprised of Playgroup, Nursery, Kindergarten, and Primary students who are guided by a diverse and uniquely qualified staff united in our belief in bilingualism and a small-school approach to learning. After graduating from Kingston Primary, our students have the through-train option of continuing the small-school approach in secondary school at International College Hong Kong. Since 1994, Kingston has dedicated itself to the worthy pursuit of equipping students to be proficient in two of the most significant languages of the twenty-first century: English and Chinese (Putonghua). For over 20 years, Kingston has successfully provided a challenging and stimulating environment that nurtures the balanced development of students who, in their own unique way, grow into active and responsible world citizens. We are proud to have been the first school in Hong Kong to be authorized to provide the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. The IBPYP provides a unique framework for approaches to learning. The flexibility of the IBO framework has ensured that Kingston has been able to maintain its dedication to bilingualism while ensuring international standards of English, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Science, Arts, and Physical Education and providing an excellent environment for Chinese language development. Members of the community who take the opportunity to walk the halls and visit the classrooms of Kingston often comment on the fluidity with which our students switch between Putonghua and English. This is a point of particular pride for us. While many schools view languages as subjects, we take particular pride in having two living languages at Kingston. Kingston teachers come from all over the globe and they bring with them a wide variety of experiences. Varied experiences and points of view are valued within the IB approaches to learning, as is lifelong learning. Our dedication to teacher professional development is unsurpassed and makes Kingston an attractive option for teachers who want to work at a school where training and experience result in a mature program with a deep understanding of the IBPYP framework and the most innovative, successful, child-centered educational program ever developed. To provide a challenging and stimulating environment that nurtures the balanced development of students who, in their own unique way grow into active and responsible world citizens. To provide a learning environment where English and Putonghua are the languages of instruction. To provide a quality education based on the principles of Internationalism. To provide our students with essential skills, attitudes, and knowledge along with the opportunities to apply them. To provide opportunities for students to work independently and collaboratively while solving problems and meeting challenges. To promote respect for the beliefs and perspectives of others. To foster a sense of community among students, parents, teachers through open communication and cooperation. We are at an exciting time in the development of the school for several reasons. The current Y7-9 students are following the Middle School Curriculum (MSC). Students are enjoying the opportunities this brings including improving links across subject areas, skills being taught explicitly in the classroom, and an alive, online reporting system that is custom made for our needs. In August 2017, we will be introducing the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for Year 7 which will roll out over three years. This framework will further develop the student learning experience. In many ways, this will build on the work we are currently doing with the MSC. All ESF schools will be on the same journey so we are working together with MYP schools to share best practices. Performance Coaching at KGV continues to develop and is changing the way we have conversations across the school and the way we can support students through tutoring. We are in a fortunate position in that we are situated in a community where the student population is not transient so we have time to build relationships and we are proud to be part of the KGV community. If you ever ask a teacher why they love working at KGV they will undoubtedly mention the students and the way they engage positively in everything they do. We create a ‘school for one. A place where each person engages in remarkable learning to achieve at high levels and be the best they can be. As an agile school, we collaborate and innovate to make a difference in the communities we serve and lead.
