  1. ISN is a co-educational English medium school established in 1990 located at Thymsa. We have the pre-primary, primary, middle, secondary, and senior secondary with the science stream with around 65 teachers and more than 1500 students. We have a good team of dedicated teachers along with modern technologies like well-furnished laboratories and libraries. Teachers attend workshops and seminars frequently for enhancing their teaching skills. The school took its initial steps forward with very few students on its rolls in 1990 and since then has grown to the strength of over 1500. It is noteworthy that the school has not only achieved phenomenal progress in academics and other co-scholastic areas over these years but has also carved a niche for itself among the expatriate Indian community. The School has classes from LKG to Standard XII and is well equipped to fulfill the needs of every child. The school imparts academic education in Science and Commerce and imparts life education through sports, field trips, debates, quizzes, music, and such pursuits that develop an individual into a complete human being of value to society. The science and computer labs, library, and playground give the children an opportunity to bring out their innate talents and skills. The Multi-purpose court for outdoor games and provisions for indoor games like chess, caroms, table tennis enables the child to develop his interest. Though this school is primarily for Indian children, its high-quality education attracts children of several other nations. It has an international character by way of having students of 12 nationalities of Asia and Africa. Close cooperation and healthy friendship amongst children of various nationalities have been highly conducive to the realization of the ideal of a global outlook. The school believes in providing quality education to the students and thus inculcate human values, and patriotism in them, to provide respect for all religions, values of co¬-existence, tolerance, and non-violence by creating a conducive environment for the overall development of children. To enhance the quality of education and to improve the infrastructure facilities, the School Managing Committee has selflessly dedicated their sincere service to this institution in various capacities. It is due to their foresight and strategy that Indian School Nizwa, today, is well equipped and technologically advanced. The hard work and dedication of the teachers, parents, administrative and support staff over the past years are equally praiseworthy. We should always keep ourselves updated and change according to the time. The need of the hour is to equip our students to face the challenges of life. Let this journey towards excellence continue. Our mission is to provide quality education to Our students, to inculcate human values, and patriotism in them, to provide respect for all religions, values of coexistence, tolerance, and non-violence by creating a conducive environment for the overall development of children. Strive to include moral values in children and to shape them into persons with strong character and outgoing personalities. So that the school Becomes a center for excellence in education we should Kindle in children's intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual development. Prepare the children to become successful, responsible, global citizens with a commitment to protect nature. By working together as parents and educators, we can build a foundation for lifelong learning. At ISN we take pride in our relationships with parents and see you as a partner in the important job of educating the children of this community. We welcome your participation and support during the school year and look forward to celebrating with you the achievements of our students. View full school

  5. ISS is a Senior secondary Co-educational school affiliated with CBSE New Delhi. The purpose of education is to enable all students to develop their intellectual, emotional, social, and physical potential to the fullest. The Indian School Sohar pursues academic excellence for students in the international community through an Indian-based education that develops ethical, responsible, and globally conscious life-long learners. At ISS child is a supreme gift of God. The philosophy is to educate children to attain excellence in all vistas of life. The objective of ISS is achieved by touching the hearts and transforming them into excellence. Our mission is to provide modern education yet retaining the traditional Indian essence. Indian School Sohar provides an environment in which every student discovers and realizes his full potential and maintains a sharp focus on the pursuit of knowledge and skills. With vibrating energy levels and penetrating foresight, we create self-awareness amongst children and help in capacity building. We are concerned about the overall health and wellbeing of learners encompassing their mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions - we transform them. The school provides an education that is developmental and integrative leading to the nurturing of every pupil into a multi-competent person, and to a multifaceted development that enables the head, heart, and hands to become balanced parts of an organized whole. In the firm belief that "Good education is the high road to personal and national progress", the school aims at drawing out what is best in the child, through appropriate learning experiences and opportunities, a desire to learn, not just in the classroom, but all the time making it an on-going process through life. It strives to foster in the student a sense of values and an appreciation of his/her own culture, tradition, and heritage, as well as of what is good in other cultures. It aims to orient each individual towards a fuller life in the world as a free and mature adult, capable of assuming his/her responsibilities in society and motivated to contribute towards the community and the nation. Thus the student is expected to emerge as an individual, complete in character, with confidence in self and respect for others. The Indian School Sohar aims to be an institution of excellence, in academics, and holistic development character building of the children - catering to students with varied aptitude and potential-transforming them into real achievers. All progressive organizations are born from the dreams, creative ideas, and leadership of certain dedicated intellectual minds. Three decades back a group of Indian expatriates puts their heads together, to lay the foundation of an institute that could contribute towards education, development, and growth of the children of the Indian Society. But an educational institute is not just about bricks, mortar, and concrete rather it is about building character, enriching minds, and enriching experiences that last a lifetime. Into its thirtieth year, a trail of developments marks the significant changes that took place over the years in shaping up the school as it stands today- an educational edifice. With the belief that life is not only a set of instructions, it is rather a series of experiences and continual learning processes, the ISS takes upon itself to make the difference where learning is not just a series of instructions but a passion, which goes beyond books, beyond instructions, beyond learning horizons. We aim not only to impart quality education but also to groom our children into socially interactive, mentally agile, and empathetic individuals to enable them to develop their potential, without unreasonable stress. In the contemporary era of striving for excellence in every domain of life, success is synonymous with grit, perseverance, and faith in oneself. While the cognitive aspect is given prime attention in the school, the emotional and behavioral compatibility is not ignored. A proper balance is struck between an individual's achievement with that of one's roots and moral values, which, would enable every student to become a successful human being. Holistic education is our theme and we aim for a perfect synthesis of ancient and modern Indian and international traditional and innovatory. To achieve this we take care of attitudes, competencies, and skills, and the Focus is placed on making the students ambitious holistic individuals with sound character and well-groomed personalities- striving for Excellence. 7. The British School Salalah is a small, nonprofit community school gifted to the British community in Salalah in the 1970s by the Sultan of Oman. It began its life as a few huts on the beach built to educate the children of the British Military who were posted in Salalah in the 1980s and, over time, has blossomed into a school that educates 105 children of many different nationalities on a purpose-built site in Dahariz. The school is run by a Board of Governors made up of parents, teachers, and influential professional members of the community in Salalah. The Head Teacher, however, is in charge of the day-to-day running of the school and all matters about the curriculum and assessment, supported by a dedicated team of teachers and administration staff. Key to our success is the small classes in which traditional high expectations are combined with modern teaching methods, ensuring each student achieves the best possible results according to his or her abilities and talents. Beyond the classroom, life at the British School is exciting and fulfilling. Our many and varied extracurricular opportunities offer children the chance to gain confidence in whichever area they discover their interests lie. We believe strongly in Education Outside the Classroom and in ensuring, as the great man Aristotle once philosophized, that we educate the hearts of our students and not just their minds. We are a nonprofit, nonselective, coeducational, British day school located in Dahariz, Salalah. We care about our community and each other and know our students and families personally, enabling positive working relationships. We are a welcoming, open, friendly school with children from a variety of backgrounds, countries, and cultures. The children interact well together and form genuine friendships without borders. The vision of British School Salalah is to empower happy, lifelong learners who are independent, confident, and successful. The British School Salalah provides an inclusive learning experience through the National Curriculum of England and Wales that encourages students to be successful and confident individuals with a global perspective. We take a holistic attitude to education, ensuring that each child is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged both within and outside of the classroom. We believe a child who is valued and helped will achieve his or her personal best. We are committed to the principles of inclusion and equality of opportunity. The efforts and achievements of the children are valuable and celebrated by the whole school. This is true for parents, students, and teachers alike. We view learning as an enjoyable experience, and we believe that every child can improve and progress. We expect our parents to be fully engaged in the learning process. From the gentle introduction to learning that is provided by our Bananas Nursery Programme through to the steps taken towards independence in Years 7, 8, and 9, the British School Salalah curriculum provides its students with a varied approach to learning that builds on each child’s strengths while, at the same time, pulling the whole school together in a bond of mutual respect and collaboration. The National Curriculum of England and Wales is based on a structured and broad framework that outlines expected levels of achievement for the duration of the children’s education and provides a regular program of assessment and evaluation. We maintain a high standard of education, based on the National Curriculum of England & Wales. We believe in teaching the individual child and differentiation within the classroom which means that your child will receive the best out of his or her education. Significantly smaller class sizes are proven to improve academic achievement and ensures that we meet each child's individual needs. At the British School Salalah, we ensure that our class sizes remain small. All of our teachers are fully qualified, native English speakers who know the curriculum, the subject matter, and the teaching practice and principles of the school. Our children are encouraged to learn and develop outside the classroom through our EOTC program which includes a wide range of after-school activities, school trips, and overnight stays. With a low student-to-teacher ratio and an internationally-minded school program, students will find success and be challenged, while studying at KFS. 12. Welcome to Korea Foreign School, a proud candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP). It is my pleasure to personally welcome you to our school located in Seoul, South Korea. Growing in popularity for its excellence in lifelong education, Korea Foreign School has approximately 105 students in grades 1 through grade 10 and runs a trimester schedule from August until June. Following the graduation requirements of the world’s international schools, KFS ensures that each student receives a well-rounded education that includes a unique combination of academic standards and achievement in a safe and inviting school culture. Korea Foreign School enables students to achieve academic excellence while being encouraged to be global leaders who promote global peace through equity, innovation, diversity, integrity, community, care for the environment, and self-respect. Korea Foreign School is based on the belief that young people from many countries who are studying together in a supportive environment will be leaders in world peace. They will rise to prominent positions where they will be committed to serving the global community to improve the well-being of its people with their knowledge of the environment, diversity, and wise decision-making. They will be confident, strong, enterprising, and entrepreneurial. Korea Foreign School is acutely aware that we now live in a global society and this school has been founded to cater to students of all backgrounds, races, and religions. In this way children learn to belong to the family of the world, to love and respect each other’s differences and celebrate them. The school is non-profit making and we aim to make an international education available to as many students as possible. Every child will have her/his ethnicity, race, religion and cultural beliefs recognized by the school whether it is in the classroom, at an assembly, or on the sports field. The wide-ranging curricular and extra-curricular activities mean they have the opportunity to follow their desired path to appropriate secondary institutions. The purpose of the school is to help students aim high in all aspects of learning while retaining their curiosity and creativity. They will learn to have empathy with others and reflect on their values and the values of others. This will enable them to lead in businesses or universities worldwide while retaining their curiosity and creativity. This will enable them to lead and succeed in the career of their choice. Korea Foreign School achieved joint accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Accredited schools are subject to regular monitoring through routine progress reports and visits, a process that keeps standards high and ensures that schools continue to develop and improve. Accreditations from these two important organizations mark KFS as one of the highly recognized international schools in the world. Our students learn international-mindedness by taking a world language class and learning from a global perspective. IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) focus on developing caring and open-minded students who take action to make the world a more peaceful place. We provide our students with an international education that addresses the social, physical, emotional, cultural, and academic needs of its students. Korea Foreign School provides students many opportunities to learn and grow through the highly accredited Common Core State Standards (CCSS), the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and the National Standards for Social Studies, which all call for higher-level thinking in our core content areas. As part of our requirements students are expected to complete requirements for graduation from middle school, while demonstrating their ability to be successful global citizens. Students also benefit from a variety of learning opportunities in addition to the required curriculum including a chance to travel while competing in international Olympiads, extracurricular activities, and an outstanding technological experience. With a low student-to-teacher ratio and an internationally-minded school program, students will find success and be challenged, while studying at KFS. As part of our vision, we hope to prepare students to be life-long learners and good citizens in a culture of shared responsibility. At Korea Foreign School, we are committed to creating a safe learning environment, nurturing, and respectful to foster and develop students' knowledge, skills, and abilities. We understand and focus on preparing our students to be 21st-century learners. Our world has changed and is constantly evolving. Our primary responsibility is student learning and offering all students the educational opportunities that will maximize their potential in this changing world. 13. Welcome to the International Christian School of Uijeongbu (ICSU). We have been serving the Uijeongbu community for the last 35 years and are excited to continue to strengthen our educational program to prepare students for their life and career beyond their time with us. The International Christian School Uijeongbu (ICSU) is an international school on the northern edge of the Seoul metropolitan area that is part of the Network of International Christian Schools (NICS). We are a Christian school, following the commands of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our school uses an American curriculum and all instruction is done in English. For our high school students, AP (Advanced Placement) classes are available, which can give college credit at universities across the United States. Our mission is to provide an education that will enable the student to be a productive, responsible citizen with a Biblical worldview. Education, being the pursuit of truth, is provided in the context that Jesus Christ is the absolute truth. The philosophy of International Christian School Uijeongbu (ICSU) is based on a Christ-centered view that Jesus Christ is the source of all truth. ICSU deems itself responsible for the spiritual, mental, intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of each student while attending ICSU. The word of God will permeate all activities and agendas as the school aims to integrate the Bible throughout the total curriculum. Christ touched lives collectively and individually as He modeled a caring and effective teaching style, thus effective teaching begins with offering unconditional love for each child and continues through positive teacher-student relationships. It is the purpose of ICSU to provide a distinctly Christian academic environment for its students and to train young people to function in the world as discerning Christian citizens. We believe a discerning Christian strives for discipline and excellence in all he or she does and that integrity, industry, and faithfulness mark a Christian citizen who fully integrates wisdom, knowledge, and faith.ICSU encourages the promotion of high academic standards while helping students acquire creative and critical thinking skills. The objective of the ICSU instructional program is to enable the student to pursue the post-secondary education of his or her choosing whether it be in a university or the area of vocational or technical training. ICSU is blessed to have students from all corners of the world attend the school. Families are from the United States of America, China, Russia, Japan, India, Philippines, South America, Australia, New Zealand, and many more nations. The rich diversity provides our community a wealth of understanding about the world around them. As a foreign school in South Korea, we are permitted to accept South Korean citizens. Although we are limited, by the Ministry of Education, to accept Korean citizens who have met the minimum number of days living outside of the country for 1095 days -- 3 years. Please contact the front office if you have questions about your child’s status. Students at ICSU have opportunities beyond their academic core classes to further their curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning through chapels, mission trips, community service, electives, clubs, athletic teams, intramural sports, and many other opportunities. It is the mission of ICSU to utilize technology to enhance the learning process. We are committed to preparing our community of learners to exhibit a Biblical worldview as responsible citizens, maximize productivity, advance communication, promote critical thinking, and foster collaboration by integrating technology. We know that education, being the pursuit of truth, is provided in the context that Jesus Christ is the absolute Truth. Rev. Joe Hale founded Liberty Christian School in 1983. The school was initially founded to meet the needs of several missionary families in the Uijeongbu area. Because of the number of “non-command-sponsored” military children in the area, the school was expanded to include students in Kindergarten through grade twelve. In 1988 a branch school was started in Dongduchon to meet the needs of the students in the Seoul area. In 1990 an elementary school was started in the Namsan area of Seoul, including a branch in Songtan. Yongsan International School of Seoul (YISS) and the sister school in Songtan is now International Christian School Pyeongtaek (ICSP). All three schools cooperate and support each other.ICSU was accepted as a candidate for accreditation in 1988. After an extensive self-study, the school was visited by the accrediting team from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges in April 1991. The school received full six-year accreditation in June 1991. A dual ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) self-study was completed during the 1996-1997, 2002-2003, 2008-2009, and 2014-2015 school year. ICS-Uijeongbu is fully accredited until 2021 at which time the school will undergo another complete self-study for continuing accreditation. At ICSU we believe in excellence both on and off the athletic field. God has given us physical and mental abilities which we build upon in our athletic program at ICSU. Our coaches are more than just sportspeople, they are mentors who train our athletes how to compete, persevere, work hard, be a team player and overall bring glory to God. We train our athletes to work hard in everything they do with the understanding that honor and respect are more important than wins and losses. The dual significance of character education and personal growth makes our athletic program an essential component of education at ICSU. View full school

  15. ISK is an inspiring and spacious environment with a capacity for 540 students. Every classroom has an interactive whiteboard and we also have a gymnasium, cafeteria, science lab, computer lab, music rooms, art rooms, basketball, volleyball, soccer facilities, a general makerspace, and a textiles makerspace as well as a woodland outdoor classroom for early learners. Our facilities are in regular development in light of learning needs. The mission statement of our school is its foundation. It answers two fundamental questions about the school, ‘Why are we here?’ and ‘What kind of children are we aiming to produce?’ The mission statement is used as a guide in decision-making. For example, when considering a curriculum program or a school event, we ask the question, ‘Does it help us achieve our mission?’ The mission was created by all members of the school community: parents, teachers, and students. The ‘Steps to Success’ are the main things that we do in school to try and achieve our mission. The curriculum at ISK is derived from our Mission and Vision statements which, along with our Definition of Learning, form the central ideas that drive learning in the school. To fulfill our Mission we must ask ourselves, 'What should children learn and how should they do it?' Our curriculum is the answer to those questions and we believe that the programs we are currently developing are the best way to achieve our vision and met the needs of our students. The curriculum of a school is made up of all the experiences provided by the school to bring about learning. Learning is fun. Our aim is for all children to share in the enjoyment of learning every day. We also teach children about learning: what it is and how it comes about. At ISK we understand learning as an interaction between Knowledge, Skills, and Understanding. These three elements are interdependent. For example, having the skills to drive a car is not much use unless one has some knowledge about road signs and an understanding of how roads are used by others. The interdependence of the three elements is shown when the learner driver reflects on their current knowledge of road signs and their current understanding of road users to help them determine which skills they should learn next or develop further. Over the past several months we have listened to parents and the community. The need for an established, well-resourced, and fully licensed school was glaringly apparent. It would help families stay together and provide opportunities currently missing for teenagers on the island unless they were to sacrifice their studies for the fatigue of long bus journeys. All too older former students of ISK turn up here saying how much they missed our caring, cutting-edge education and wished we had classes for them. Although initial establishment would prove difficult in these quieter times on Geoje, we decided we had to act. We would build upon our middle years to create a full secondary school. After thorough discussions with our pioneering parents and their children and countless interviews, reference checks, and reflections, we believe we have assembled an inspirational team that will be able to provide unrivaled education in Gyeongnam province. The year so far has seen ISK children involved in SKAC football/volleyball and basketball events, Winter Festival, PTA Film Night, themed weeks and days including Halloween, Fitness and Well Being, and World Book Day, PTA Read-a-thon, Sports Days, a weekly set of ASAs. This is just a snapshot of life at ISK. We are a school that is always looking for new challenges that will bring both excitement and a clear benefit to the children’s learning and life experiences. At ISK we are truly international with 30+ student nationalities and 11+ different staff nationalities. Consequently, it is no surprise we believe in global transferable skills communication, team working, interpersonal, problem-solving, flexibility, adaptability, and self-motivation.ISK is now on the verge of yet another exciting phase in its life with the prospect of moving from our middle school program into years 10 and 11 and offering a curriculum for the IGCSE. At ISK our approach to Early Years education is through play-based explorative learning for cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development. We follow the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) which is built upon the four learning strands Independence and Interdependence, Communiing, Enquiring, Healthy Living, and Physical Well-being. The International School of Koje (ISK) adopts the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) for learners at ISK in Years 7 through 9. The IMYC seamlessly links learning from the Primary School and IPC at ISK to a specialist-centered Middle Years curriculum. As a curriculum created for the needs of 21st-Century learners, the IMYC integrates academic, personal, and international learning goals in an inquiry-based approach to learning. As an international school with a Mission to support confident, global citizens, the IMYC is an optimal fit for our school and learning context. View full school

  17. The mission of Korea International Christian School is to equip our students to become Truly God’s People to impact the world for the kingdom of God. We believe the world was created by the direction of God. Therefore, the meaning of all life and existence can be explained in the context of God’s creation and plan of salvation. In addition, we believe that God has given man the responsibility to rear children, teach his goodness, and have dominion over the earth, sky, and sea by the principles of the Bible. Therefore, the Korea International Christian School educates students with obedience to the authority of the Word of God in all academics and life. All new students must be vaccinated legitimately before enrollment is approved by the Republic of Korea Ministry of Health and must prove their worth on paper. Students at the school can be given the medicine only if prescribed by a physician. However, the school can give students medicine in case of minor illnesses. The ultimate purpose of the Christian education is to make a disciple of Christ. The Bible has given that authority only to church and home. Therefore, Christian education must be carried out by biblically structured churches and Christian homes. The effort of KICS is to educate students to become “Truly God’s People.” Through using the curriculums deeply rooted in a biblical worldview, KICS provides an atmosphere for students to learn to glorify God, be grateful for their salvation, and come to the full realization of their tasks. The classes of KICS are conducted in English using the curriculums from Bob Jones University in the US. KICS raises Christian leaders who work for glorifying God only through biblical textbooks and curriculum from Bob Jones University which is a Christian prestigious university. At this time most of the education in Korea is done by public schools and there are few Christian schools however there is no school that is run by Christian faculty, biblical textbook, and curriculum. These days it is said that children who believe in God do not grow as God’s children and break their belief due to secular education such as humanism and evolution theorem. In America, many people already received education from a traditional Christian school and live life as a Christian. Many people are the leaders of society and live as a disciple of Jesus. Therefore, even in Korea, there should be many Christian schools like KICS that educated truly God’s people. So KICS starts a movement called “717 movements” which is to establish 700 Christian schools, 1 million prayer supporters, and 70 Christian leaders. To spread Christian education and culture through 717 movements, we need many co-workers for this ministry and support by prayer and material. We can not do it by ourselves. We are recruiting 1 million material supporters and 1 million prayer supporters. View full school

  19. Chadwick Schools develop global citizens with keen minds, exemplary character, self-knowledge, and the ability to lead. Chadwick Schools are deeply committed to self-discovery through experience and reflection. Students develop the joy of learning, self-confidence, well-being, and curiosity through interactive and practical experiences. Our schools share the core values of respect, responsibility, honesty, fairness, and compassion. Through active participation in an intentionally diverse and inclusive environment, students make a positive impact within and beyond their communities. By living and learning in a student-centered, collaborative atmosphere of excellence, integrity, and trust, we come to expect the best of ourselves and others. Chadwick School has grown significantly since its opening in 1935, but the legacy of its founder, Margaret Lee Chadwick, remains a driving force behind the school’s continued development. Now in its 75th year, Chadwick has more than 800 students in kindergarten through grade 12 and has graduated more than 3,000 students. One of Chadwick's most significant milestones is the founding in 2010 of Chadwick International School in Songdo, South Korea, expanding opportunities for students around the globe to benefit from a world-class Chadwick education and become lifelong members of the Chadwick Community. For a complete history, visit Chadwick’s Leavenworth Library or the Local History Room of Palos Verdes Peninsula Library. Both houses all of the books Mrs. Chadwick wrote about the school, as well as yearbooks from each graduating class. Chadwick International is an authorized IBPYP school with a self-generated curriculum based on the International Baccalaureate Organization's (IBO) curricular program. The curriculum construction is based on a backward design model from the recognized “Understanding by Design" (UbD™) framework and is an ongoing process involving all stakeholders of the school. Chadwick International provides opportunities in an environment where leaders are actively encouraged, developed, and mentored as they grow into future leaders in their communities. Teamwork along with a competitive spirit is among the most important skills our students learn. At CI, students have multiple leadership opportunities - Village School through Upper School student council, Upper School Honor Council, various student-led clubs, after-school activities, servant leader, and more. Early in their schooling, potential leaders are encouraged to take leadership roles under the supervision of mentor teachers, coaches, and various activities. As they move into Middle School and eventually Upper School, they are poised and ready to lead student council, school clubs, and CI athletic teams. Student leadership is a developmental process where students are mentored by caring teachers who instruct and guide them as they grow and develop. Under the watchful eye of these mentors, students take on greater levels of responsibility eventually starting or leading clubs and initiatives at Chadwick International. These servant leaders are encouraged to lead by example and help develop the future leaders of Chadwick International. CI has created a caring community led by students who know how to collaborate, how to express ideas, how to divide up work, and how to agree about how to get things done. Character and leadership are taught throughout all programs including physical education/athletics and the arts in which all students participate. Our goal is to develop students who consistently display persistence, courage, teamwork, sportsmanship, respect, and individual commitment, as well as a competitive spirit. The ability to learn and communicate through a range of languages is the mark of international education espoused by Chadwick’s mission to develop global-minded students, who will impact their world. Language Learning at Chadwick includes supporting students in the learning of their mother tongue while assisting the acquisition of additional languages, including Mandarin, Spanish, or Korean. English is the common language of teaching, learning, and communicating in the Village, Middle, and Upper Schools. In the Village School, the language needs of students are accurately assessed and provided for, including support in one’s mother tongue. Each student remains in full care under a homeroom teacher, student support team member, and counselor, to ensure the child’s development of English, Spanish, or Mandarin, and their first language. In Middle School, students are encouraged to take the first steps in acquiring an additional language through the Middle Years Programme (MYP) in Mandarin, Spanish, or Korean acquisition courses, while providing first language courses for Korean native students. Each student is assessed and placed according to their language needs so that they can fully participate in the courses offered. Students in the Upper School continue to develop their mother tongue and an additional language in pursuit of becoming a balanced bilingual/multilingual individual with global perspectives and leadership prowess. Chadwick International aspires to develop a culture of philanthropic giving throughout our community and build a sustainable financial model for Chadwick International. One way we aim to meet these goals is through the Founder’s Circle designed to lead and pass down the legacy of financial support and stewardship. 20. Donations to the Founder’s Circle meet various needs of the community including tuition assistance and scholarship, capital projects, and local civic engagement. 21. Welcome to BIK Hannam, and thank you for considering us for your child. British education has long been seen as the global leader in academic excellence, particularly at the university level. Crucially, however, the British approach understands that children begin to learn from birth and so has developed its curriculum for young learners to be engaging, challenging, and above all rewarding. BIK prepares students to the highest academic standards and aims to inspire respect, creativity, independence, dignity, and self-esteem. This is achieved through an approach largely inspired by the British National Curriculum.BIK Education places a strong emphasis on the expertise of the professionals delivering lessons, so my team of educators should be highly qualified and highly knowledgeable in the field of early childhood education as well as the international education experience. Since 2006 we have served an expatriate and Korean community of children from the ages of two to seven years, comprising over thirty nationalities.BIK was founded by Kevin McNealy, chairman of Orbital Education which has established and run independent schools in the UK and schools around the world. We provide the same education as prestigious independent kindergartens in the UK utilizing the British National Curriculum. At BIK we believe that creating positive childhood memories for our students is as equally important as building solid educational foundations for future development. Our students’ educational experience is stimulating and challenging, and in these vital years above all, it is achieved in an environment that is happy and secure. BIK is located near the UN village, a residential area popular with the International Community in Seoul.BIK has been constructed with the needs of our curriculum in mind. It has the full range of facilities needed for 2~7-year-olds: art room, indoor activity room, space for outdoor play, library, assembly hall, and spacious airy classrooms. BIK Hannam offers a unique education to young learners from ages 2-7. The emphasis is very much on learning through immersive, child-centered activity, incorporating play and social interaction.BIK Hannam respects that children learn differently and at different paces. Emphasis is put on ensuring students’ experiences correspond to their unique academic needs. This of course has to reflect their physical and social-emotional development as well as their educational development.BIK students progress through five years of study through many interconnecting areas of learning. BIK Hannam not only educates students to high academic standards but also nurtures them to be confident and considerate global citizens. Everything our young people do is achieved through the medium of English and is aimed at developing academically successful, emotionally mature, and well-rounded individuals. Graduates of BIK are well equipped for the new challenges that come on the next step of their educational journey. This is especially true when one considers the Five Core-Values of BIK education that all students benefit from. Self-esteem allows children to face life with more confidence and optimism.BIK teachers are positive role models and seek to maintain a very positive atmosphere in the classroom. Teachers seek opportunities to give praise when their students choose to do ‘the right thing’.Independence is a requirement for leading one’s life with the confidence to govern oneself. At BIK we don’t say that adults are the only positive role models we encourage our students to be leaders in the student body and show each other the ‘right thing to do’.We promote children’s self-esteem within the context of making their own positive and correct decisions. We are living in a world which demands that leaders are creative problem solvers.BIK students participate in daily curricular activities to foster their creativity. Students are given opportunities that guarantee creative expression, with constant encouragement to let their personalities and instincts shine through. With over 20 different cultures and backgrounds at BIK, diversity provides a lesson to be comfortable with and open to those things that distinguish. Giving to and sharing with others are important virtues of a global leader. Through a fraternal relationship with both the Green Umbrella Childfund and the Myongdo Welfare Centre, BIK Students learn what giving and sharing are and put them into practice. With such education, our children learn to understand various kinds of people in the world. A healthy body sets the stage for students’ day-to-day well-being and allows them to live an active life. With a curriculum that promotes physical development, a BIK student is ensured of an exciting time when visiting our gym hall for athletics, gymnastics as well as a routine that includes daily outdoor activities. 25. At ECLC we endeavor to provide all students with a fun, engaging, and holistic learning environment where they feel safe, respected, and loved. Our teachers put children at the center of the program – offering experiences and activities that encourage and promote every child’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development. We understand that children grow and develop at their own pace. Classroom instruction is differentiated to allow all children to be challenged while feeling successful in all aspects of the program – regardless of their stage of development. We view a child’s developmental level as moving along a continuum and we recognize that movement is not always smooth or predictable. Simply put, the needs and abilities of each child is the primary factor that guides the program. ECLC specializes in the support of children who have English as an additional language by providing a synthetic phonics program that teaches explicitly the letter patterns, sounds, and phonology that underpin the English language. Where necessary we also provide small group instruction to support English second language learners. At ECLC English second language learners are immersed in a positive and rich learning environment where all instruction is in English. We know that language acquisition occurs best when children are exposed to new vocabulary over time, which is why we follow the International Primary Curriculum units of inquiry, which serve to reinforce vocabulary and help children to link their learning to meaningful experiences. Our world is becoming increasingly complex and changes are occurring more and more rapidly, ECLC strives to create an environment that provides a calm and secure place where each child’s uniqueness is celebrated.ECLC exists to provide Early Years Education for children of the local community in Seoul, Korea. ECLC is a secular organization that welcomes children of all nationalities, ethnicities, and religions. To enter ECLC, children must be at least 2 years old before September 1 of that school year.ECLC maintains a rolling enrollment policy during the entire year. Children may enroll, in accordance to their age and subject to class availability, any time throughout the academic year. Students are accepted into the Toddler program at ECLC with the hope that they have at least a ‘beginning awareness’ of their toileting needs. While diapers or “pull-ups” will be allowed initially, we plan that the child will gradually become more capable of taking care of his/her own toileting needs – including no longer needing to wear diapers. For students on the youngest end of this spectrum, ECLC has personnel specifically designated to help out with their diapering and toileting needs. After a reasonable amount of time has elapsed and taken the child’s developmental level into account, if there seems to be no noticeable progress in this area, the parents may be consulted by the teachers to work out a temporary plan to address the situation. We believe children do not simply receive knowledge – they construct it from a variety of active, hands-on experiences. We fit the program to the needs of the child rather than vice versa. “Differentiation” of learning activities is a critical element of a quality early childhood program. We understand that children learn at different rates in different developmental areas. One size does not fit all. Teacher assessment of a child’s abilities is a primary factor in determining what kinds of activities are selected. In general, more emphasis should be placed on the process, rather than the product, of learning. All children should leave ECLC at the end of each day feeling like they were successful. Education is not a race. It is a journey. ECLC provides a child-friendly environment equipped with age-appropriate furniture and materials. It is a very colorful, stimulating child-centered atmosphere. ECLC is located in Dongbingo-dong very close to the Capital Hotel. We use 3 floors of our building and consist of 12 classrooms that accommodate our Toddler, Preschool, K1, and K2 classes. Early Childhood Learning Center is a non-profit early years organization for children aged 2 to 6 years. ECLC has served the Seoul community since 1969. We provide a high-quality English-speaking program for children coming from over 20 different countries. Through both the curriculum and our American-style teaching approaches, we focus on developing the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical potential of each child in a nurturing, secure, and stimulating environment. Our teaching staff is comprised of talented teachers from 6 different countries. Located in Dongbingo-dong, Yongsan-gu near the Capitol Hotel, ECLC is an IPC (International Primary Curriculum) member. At ECLC we endeavor to provide all students with a fun, engaging, and holistic learning environment where they feel safe, respected, and loved. Our teachers put children at the center of the program – offering experiences and activities that encourage and promote every child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
