Welcome to Advanced Learning Schools. A community that values awareness, life-long learning, and service. The Middle Years program and the Diploma program, giving your child the opportunity to have a coherent and continuous education from KG right through to pre-university Grade 12.

Our school prides itself in the fact that whilst being an IB World School, it also holds Islamic values with an emphasis placed on offering a high quality of education in all areas including both Arabic and Islamic Studies for all Muslim students.

ALS offers a caring and supportive environment where your children feel safe and cared for. We have an excellent student-teacher ratio and our experienced staff can focus on the support and education of your child and their development.

Our commitment to our students focuses on both the in-school and out-of-school development of all of our students. We are a school that values the concept of respect and regular events and activities focus our students’ minds on respect for others along with respect for our school and the wider environment.

The school currently operates in temporary accommodation next to the King Saud University but will soon move to its new, state-of-the-art campus in the Diryiah area of Riyadh. Whilst our current campus provides us with some challenges, the building does provide specialist classrooms in all curriculum areas taught, and through excellent timetabling from our Boys and Girls principals, the campus provides us with all our needs.

The Advanced Learning Schools are private, English language, international day schools that offer a full instructional program, from Kindergarten to Grade 12, for boys and girls who meet the admission requirements. Twenty percent of the curriculum is studied in Arabic: Arabic Language, Arabic Social Studies, and Islamic Studies.

The school year consists of two semesters: September to January and February to June. The school calendar is aligned with state, private and international schools. All of us at ALS strive to create international schools in which attention is paid to the language, culture, and history of our host nation. This means that, while local students maintain and develop their place in Saudi society, students from other countries can gain first-hand experience of the culture of their host country and all ALS students benefit from being exposed to variety, new experiences, and differences of many kinds.

The Board of Trustees decided to implement the curricular programs of the International Baccalaureate (IB) at the Advanced Learning Schools. All of us who study and work at Advanced Learning Schools help to forge the school culture since it is made up of the sum of interactions between people. We are enabled by the fact that:

    • We are accredited by the Council of International Schools.
    • The IB learner profile, with its ten descriptors, is central to our thinking.
    • We are an authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme school. (K-6)
    • We are an authorized International Baccalaureate Diploma Years Programme school. (Grades 11,12)
    • We are a candidate International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme school. (Grades 7-10)
    • We maintain and continue to develop the status of Arabic Language, Arabic Social Studies, and Islamic Studies at our school.

We aim to provide every student with a learning environment that enables him or her to thrive in our interdependent world where global opportunities and challenges face us daily. All three programs necessitate active student participation, practical strategies, and academic rigor.
