  1. Manarat Al-Sharkia International School was established in 1981. It was the first English Medium school to be started in the Eastern Province. The majority of students were children of university teachers, physicians working in KFUH, and employees of ARAMCO. The first batch of students graduated in 1987. In 2004, the school changed ownership and was purchased by Ma’arif Education and Training Holding company. To date, this change in ownership has not affected the administration or name of the school. One of Maarif for Education schools, offering high-quality educational services, with over 50 years of experience, while keeping pace with scientific developments in education supported by the latest systems of learning technologies to ensure the integrated construction of the personality of students within the framework of achieving our vision of helping students to realize the highest stages of creativity. With the support of qualified and trained working teams, the highest results and outputs have been achieved at the national and international levels, which have enabled the schools to obtain international accreditation and build partnerships with the largest national and international institutions. This accomplishment represents pride for the country, leadership in the field of pre-university private education, and a key step to contributing to keeping up with the 2030 Vision. This accreditation comes after the visit of the huge external review team compromising 27 members of different nationalities around the world by Advanced that oversees the accreditation of more than 22,000 private schools and educational institutions spread in 72 countries around the world. The final evaluation visit continued for five consecutive days preceded by several visits throughout the whole year. The visits covered all Manarat Schools, Faisaliah, Nour Al Islam, and Green Hills schools in Riyadh, Medina, Jeddah, Khobar, and Dammam, Al-Asha, and Rabigh as well as all national and international Maarif schools. With the accreditation of Maarif for Education and Training as an educational system, all schools owned, operated, or acquired by Maarif currently or in the future will be accredited by AdvancED. 7. Get a first impression of the modern premises of our school, which are located along with the excellent sports facilities on the grounds of Al Bustan Village. In our school, with the regular language of instruction German, our Kindergarten children start with early English. From elementary school, our students have two hours of Arabic per week. French is added as another foreign language in grade 6. The school objective is the central examinations in grade 10. With the passing of these examinations, our high school students - provided appropriate achievements - acquire the access authorization for the senior secondary school and can easily switch to any German high school to take their "Abitur". There is a Christmas party, a summer party, field trips, there is a parents' council, student representatives, as at any other school in Germany, a computer room, etc. Some of it has its regional character. Santa Claus, for example, is coming on a camel with his gifts at Christmas, the summer party is taking place by the pool, field trip destinations are often in the desert. Under the Mission Statement "Democratic, Innovative, Sensitive, Respectful", the German International School Riyadh looks back on more than 40 years of history and is also proceeds into the future. As one of two German schools in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, we offer students a smooth transition from kindergarten to tenth grade as a possibility to enter a gymnasiale Oberstufe (senior years). One of our future goals is the introduction of the GIB. Modern high-tech equipment, modern teaching methods, well-equipped science rooms, dedicated teachers, and an individual support concept (inclusive learning) characterize our small but mighty school. The good social climate at DISR is a daily glimmer of light in the middle of the desert. With the entry into Kindergarten, a new phase of life begins for your child. For you as a parent, this means letting go a bit more and entrusting your child with new caregivers. The different play areas and learning areas of our Kindergarten as well as the spacious outdoor area make it possible for the children to learn with fun, to be creative, explore the world, and develop their personalities. We want to encourage children to discover and understand the world, responding to their interests, arousing their curiosity, and strengthening their talents. It is important to us that the children develop good social behavior, so we promote helpfulness and consideration and respectful and friendly interaction with each other and take into account the individuality of each child. The employees of the Kindergarten are aware of their role model function. We provide the children with diverse, stimulating opportunities so that they can learn and research with all their senses and playfully and creatively engage with their environment. We accompany the children for a little period on their life path and support them. Therefore, we attach great importance to partnering with parents based on mutual tolerance, respect, and appreciation. As a German Kindergarten, the celebration of important traditional festivals of our culture is an integral part of our conception and something special for every child. We have great interest and respect towards all other cultures. The "main occupation" of children is playing. Children learn while playing. This is a fundamental aspect of our educational work. While playing, children find their options for conflict resolution, the development of social skills, and the acquisition of knowledge. The children decide for themselves, what, when and with whom they want to play. We assist the children in developing their playing ideas as a contact and guide. We provide them with a variety of materials and thus always give them new ideas. We primarily focus on the interests and the questions and needs of the children and their daily surroundings. We take the ideas of the children and develop them together with them (so-called "situational approach"). This active cooperation also animates our projects and topics. The conscious and learner-oriented contact with the English language in Kindergarten is intended to arouse the interest and enjoyment of learning languages. Simple language structures, e.g. colors, numbers, animals are taught and consolidated. The teaching of elementary language skills is playful and without pressure to perform. The children in our kindergarten come from different countries or from a multilingual environment whose first language is not always German. Under the name "Deutsch als Fremdsprache - DaF", children whose German language skills are deficient receive additional support for the German language. The first days in Kindergarten - Our goal is that the children master the transition to Kindergarten as easily as possible. Therefore, the adaptation of each child is individually discussed, planned, and carried out with the parents. For the start in our Kindergarten to be positive for your child, this time of adjustment is very important. It depends on many factors (age of the child, pre-existing Kindergarten experience, an only child, occupation of parents, disengagement of parents from child), and we can not say in general terms how it works and how long it takes. On the first day, parents or one parent join the child in Kindergarten and get to know the Kindergarten teachers, the premises, and the group. In a first conversation, the parents receive important information about the activities in the Kindergarten and the group. The teacher can make first observations and first contact. A first, brief separation can already take place in the case of a positive contact by the teacher. The course of familiarization is then discussed individually with the parents from day today. Our school offers a piece of home away from home, starting with two-year-old kindergarten children until they finish school in 10th grade. To best promote, challenge, accompany and support our students is our main interest. We are striving to establish further education after grade 10. Therefore, we aim to establish the gemischtsprachige IB Diploma program to allow our students to obtain a university entrance qualification at our school, and we are enthusiastic about this pedagogical approach and its implementation. 9. Welcome to our school. We enjoy a wonderfully diverse student population and provide a safe and secure learning environment in which to explore, succeed and exceed. Students are held to a high standard of excellence because our teachers see educational struggles not as failures, but rather as opportunities for growth. Founded in 1981, Dhahran British Grammar School follows the National Curriculum for England and delivers externally assessed (I)GCSE examinations as well as offering a full A-Level program. The school is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), British Schools Overseas (BSO), British Schools in the Middle East (BSME), and Middle States Association for Colleges and Schools (MSA). The school accommodates pupils from Foundation Stage 1 to Year 13 and currently has a population of approximately 700 pupils representing over 60 different nationalities. Pupils are taught by suitably qualified and experienced staff who themselves are largely British in origin. The school is an accredited examination center for Cambridge Assessment International Examinations (CAIE) formerly Cambridge International Examination (CIE) and Edexcel Pearson. All school results are made public to the parents and to the broader community they are consistently at a very high level and would match high-performing schools in the UK. Along with these external examinations, standardized testing is undertaken annually and formal and informal assessments take place in the classrooms on regular basis. Written reports are sent to parents in Terms 1 and 3 and two parent/teacher conferences take place annually. The school offers an excellent after school activities program, is an Independent Award Centre (IAC) for the Duke of Edinburgh International Award (D of E), and regularly participates in Model United Nations (MUN) and British Schools in the Middle East (BSME) games at primary and secondary levels to provide an excellent all-round educational experience for students. With an emphasis on high achievement, our academic results compare favorably with the very best National Curriculum schools in the UK and across the world. We are proud of our student's ability to work hard, establish sensitive relationships with those around them, and seek new skills and knowledge. At Dhahran British Grammar School (DBGS) we have a deserved reputation for working collaboratively, as a team, and with the wider DBGS community. We love to process ideas, to gain levels of knowledge and understanding that could not be achieved by working alone. This also compels all stakeholders in our community, parents, students, and teachers to recognize progress and to celebrate success. As part of the International Schools Group (ISG), we are delighted to be involved in activities alongside our partner schools across the district. Our new system student performance goals of Learner Agency, Compassionate Action, and Growth in Literacy give us a unique way forward. We encourage our students to become independent learners to prepare them for the ever-changing world of the future. It is not enough for pupils to just learn information by rote they need to know how to challenge themselves, how to get the best out of their learning, to engage in effective dialogue with teachers to provide feedback and ways forward, and to utilize appropriate resources effectively. As well as these we want our students to be happy, to care for one another, to accept differences, and to promote positivity within the school community. Our teachers are learners too. Extensive programs of professional development through an organization such as the British Schools in the Middle East (BSME) and other external providers give us an effective platform for school improvement. As an organization, our school’s commitment to professional development is first class. At Dhahran British Grammar School, we provide memorable experiences which foster a deep love of learning and personal development remains our priority. Our creative and integrated approach is underpinned by a structured approach to teaching the core subjects of English, mathematics, and science and a commitment to high standards. While we are benchmarked against the very best in the UK, our curriculum reflects our international setting and celebrates and embraces diversity. The students have access to shared facilities such as the Dhahran Learning Commons (LC), a purpose-built kitchen, and a Primary Computer Lab. Early Years (EY) and key stage one (KS1) children also have access to a soft play room with a bouncy castle, ball pool, and a range of climbing apparatus and construction equipment to encourage children to be inventive. The Senior School at Dhahran British Grammar School includes three key stages, Key Stage 3 (KS3) for Years 7 to 9, Key Stage 4 (KS4) for Years 10 and 11, and Key Stage 5 (KS5) also known as the sixth form for Years 12 and 13. 11. FG International School is managed by a team of forward-looking educationalists with long experience in managing schools, organizing educational activities, and involving in community development. The name Future Generation implies that the school cannot be categorized just as a 2G or 3G School. Instead, FG will strive to be Future-G with a slogan Future in the making, keeping itself at par with developments in the field of education from time to time. The school offers a curriculum based on British Syllabus. Admission is available from classes KG1 to Grade-III. The KG classes follow the Montessori Method of teaching. The method is well known as an active learning process. Students are encouraged to work in groups to develop team spirit. The capabilities of students to make oral presentations are groomed properly and regularly, thanks to the electronic smart-boards. Students who opt for the Arabic language are taught by Arab teachers, to achieve maximum proficiency in the language. Students who opt to learn Qur’an recitation are taught by excellent Qarees (reciters). Moral science is also an option for any student. FGIS makes it a point to give small projects from Kindergarten upwards. It is aimed at developing a child’s observational skills and helps as a means of quenching their curiosity. FGIS plans to introduce the MI Theory of Howard Gardner at a gradual pace in the teaching process. As part of this, the KG worksheets are prepared in such a way that most of the concepts in the sheets address several of the intelligence put forward by Gardner. This will help children having different kinds of intelligence to be treated and trained the way they deserve. What if there was one thing you could do that would improve your child’s ability in School? Well, there is! Research has shown the most important activity for building the knowledge for eventual success, is reading aloud to children. In our opinion reading aloud to your child “conditions the child to associate reading with pleasure, creates background knowledge, and provides a reading role model." We hear many parents say “sure I know I should read to my child, but who has the time?” What if we told you it would take only fifteen minutes a day? Every child deserves a holistic education that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and personal responsibility. Writers in the school program focus on the writing process and address key objectives in language arts, including inventive word choices, sentence fluency, and clear organization. WITS (Writers in The School) long-term program allows students to develop their writing skills by receiving intensive instructions, and time to practice to master new techniques. Through innovative approaches to WITS, writers build skills in reading and analysis and emphasize the importance of revision. FGI school is pleased to announce an ambitious program for students of Jeddah by the name Gifted Students Educational program that helps find out gifted children and then train and groom them properly. 13. Welcome to where we "measure success, one happy learner, at a time”. Welcome to another member of the Learner’s World International Schools (LWIS) Network. Welcome to Khaled International Schools-KiS, Riyadh. Khaled International Schools, KiS – Riyadh are a community of learners, where education is child-focused and learner-centered. We do believe that every child/learner can learn and will learn differently to the best of his/her ability once properly guided, respected, and challenged. Founded in 1995 in Riyadh KSA, Khaled International Schools (American Curriculum Schools), cater to Saudi and non-Saudi children from Kindergarten through Grade 12. The schools’ renovated facilities house an independent Girls’ School Kindergarten to Grade 12 where the Preschool classes in the Girls’ School are co-educational while Grades 1, 2, and 3 boys are housed in independent classes in the Girls’ School. The facilities also accommodate an independent Boys’ School Grades 4 to 12. Both schools are under the supervision of the Ministry of Education and are members of the Learner’s World International Schools (LWIS) Network that is managed by School Development Consultants (SDC) – Lebanon. Khaled International Schools are fully accredited by AdvancED and envision becoming leading learner-centered hubs for digital and advanced education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We would like to welcome all parents and learners to a new school year. We hope that as the year progresses both parents and learners will get a deeper knowledge of the staff, the programs, and the policies we offer at Khaled International Schools. It is the goal of the staff at Khaled International Schools to work closely with the kis community to create a rich learning environment for all our learners. A learner’s success is a shared responsibility among the school staff, learners and parents. The academic year 2016- 2017 is a year of change this year we have planned to accentuate the Parents’ Committee body, for we believe parents’ involvement makes a real difference to children’s learning. It is our goal that KiS parents will work together with the school to face challenges and celebrate the diversity of our school’s community. Education is a joint venture between school and home. Thus, as we work with our learners to help them acquire knowledge and skills through the prescribed curriculum, we appreciate the support that parents will give to their children at home. At KiS we strongly recognize the importance of technology and work on integrating technology in all subject areas. At KiS we believe in partnership with the parents and parent involvement. We have an open-door policy that welcomes parents whose input is vital to our decision-making process. At KiS, as we all are learners, we recognize the wealth of talents around us and work solidly on empowering young and adult learners. We mobilize talents to enhance our faculty and staff. The KiS teacher/facilitator is key at our school. Our teachers know and are experienced in handling situations, have mastery of content and methods of effective instruction, and are life-long learners themselves. Because we all are learners at KiS, we promote induction programs, ongoing professional development, seminars, conferences, workshops, and any other high-quality staff development at school or in the community at large. The KiS teacher is involved in instructional leadership, curriculum development, strategic planning, program evaluation, team building, and personal growth. The KiS teacher understands the important role he/she plays in the lives of learners both as a teacher and as an adult figure in the learners’ formative years. At KiS we realize that building a community requires the amalgamation of all young and adult learners, academic and non-academic staff, administration, and parents. We are sincerely looking forward to the unique blend of the KiS family, a family that inspires rather than coerces. It is these beliefs that led the school to endorse the introduction of electronic beams and LCD projectors into most of our classrooms. It is these beliefs also that led us to endorse teacher training programs before the beginning of this academic year and every six weeks during the year. It is precisely this kind of training that will help us realize our objectives for this year and years to come. Our Early Childhood Program (ages 3-7), Preschool & Lower Elementary, is designed to offer our children a developmentally appropriate and stimulating experience in a safe and nurturing environment. It utilizes an integrated approach to learning that promotes intellectual, language, physical, social/emotional, and aesthetic development in all our young children. Through this program, we are committed to: Build on each child’s experience and knowledge to make learning meaningful and to develop a life-long enthusiasm for learning. Provide a stimulating educational environment with opportunities to learn in a variety of formal and informal contexts. Provide a safe and caring environment that encourages independence and curiosity thereby supporting the development of self-confidence. Integrate subjects in a meaningful way, giving opportunities to practice skills and concepts in real-life situations. Our Middle & Senior School programs are designed to allow our learners to develop into confident young adults, well prepared for college/university entrance and success. There are six broad objectives that we believe in for the Middle and Senior Section programs: Critical and Creative Thinking Communication Technology Integration Personal and Social Value Global Awareness and Understanding Independent Learning The Senior School is designed to provide ample opportunity for learners to develop the talents and interests of which they are aware and to discover and develop previously unrecognized ones. Our graduation requirements are designed to ensure that each KiS graduate is well prepared, both for college and for a lifetime of service and learning. They reflect our belief that learners become creative, reflective, open, disciplined, productive, compassionate, and passionate adults by engaging in a broad range of learning opportunities, both in and out of the classroom. Students, teachers, and all other staff members are committed to promoting an environment of diversity and acceptance. We believe that school should be a place where children are excited to go. We are working to build a world where they jump out of bed on weekdays, a world where they look forward to Saturday mornings. Our aspiration for all of our students is to achieve their highest potential within our rigorous and challenging curriculum. We promote successful integration into an increasingly technological, complex, and diverse world. We have identified the key competencies to be acquired by the students. The competencies are excellent communication, creative thinking, proactive collaboration, self-directed life-long learning, community contribution, and capable citizenship. Imperial International School is a community whose members inspire one another to learn, work and play in an atmosphere of collaboration and respect while ethically preparing for a global society. To encourage life-long learners to be responsible citizens in an ever-changing technological world. Our Beliefs are: All students will learn when their needs are the primary focus of all the decisions impacting the work of the school. Our curriculum offers these students a myriad of approaches from which to learn. Teachers provide a variety of learning activities that accommodate differences in learning needs. A safe and physically comfortable learning atmosphere promotes student learning. The integration of technology into the curriculum is essential for providing students with skills to become global citizens. A student’s self-esteem is enhanced by the mutual trust and positive relationships developed within the school community. Students will become confident, self-directed, independent learners when they are actively engaged in the learning process. Students need to apply their learning in meaningful contexts and be able to demonstrate their understanding of essential knowledge and skills using a variety of assessment tools. Academic studies also include Islamic Studies, Social Studies, Arabic, French, Computer Skills, Business, Art, and Physical Education. Since the last visit of NWAC in June 2010, the Self Study Team embarked on an intensive endeavor with the slogan “Looking Backward – Moving Forward”. The major objective of this effort was to come up with a clearer picture of who we are, what we want, what we do, and where we are going. The team relied on multiple data resources so that the analysis would be as accurate as possible. The data gathered included students results, teachers’ assessments, parents’ surveys, and Best Practices and Benchmarking tools provided by external consultants. The output has been used as a decision-making tool and served as a foundation for long-term improvement plans. During the planning phase, the Self Study Team adopted a holistic approach to integrating both the boys and girls sections of the school. It also focused on materializing the high academic achievements for all students. Finally, in our quest to diversify the quality perspective, the school sought affiliation to the Western Association of Schools & Colleges (WASC) in September 2012. The Initial Visit was conducted in December 2012 and the school was granted Initial Accreditation which is valid through June 2016. With a strong belief that “success is a journey, not a destination” each team member at Imperial International School's “family” is eager to make it an enjoyable and rewarding voyage. We strive to provide such qualities by offering a truly international education, helping each child attain a multi-cultural perspective while appreciating his or her unique cultural background. Constantly striving for academic excellence, we encourage all students to become life-long learners by helping them develop necessary attitudes and skills, ensuring their success in the global international community of tomorrow.
