  1. The school is dedicated to providing high-quality education, enhancing high-order thinking skills, and building independent productive individuals. Throughout the year, the students are engaged in projects and activities that help them apply the concepts and theories they learn. Students depend on manipulative and hand-made educational aids in their classes. The Science lab is the place where students can transform the written texts in the students’ books into real experiments. In the lab, students can conceptualize and visualize the written information to see the results with their own eyes and touch the outcomes of their learning with their own hands. Teachers use the language lab materials to convey the requirements of their lessons in a student-friendly manner. They can easily control and track each student’s work. This latest establishment helps the teacher to involve students to actively participate in their language learning experience and get more practice than any other possible way of a traditional classroom environment.

  4. Welcome to the Al-Safi International School. Our school vision is “Safi International School will be widely respected as an inclusive school offering a model cosmopolitan education”. This ambitious vision is underpinned by our mission “to educate and empower students to be compassionate and inspired people, who act for the good of all and the sustainable development of the world”. We are a school that focuses on academic excellence and confidence-building while nurturing in our students a strong sense of social and environmental responsibility. We celebrate the fact that each student is different, as a person and as a learner, and we aim to offer an education specifically designed to stimulate the intellectual curiosity of each child. The warm and inclusive nature of our school culture is something we are particularly proud of and work hard to maintain. At the same time, we place great emphasis on rigorous academic inquiry, making extensive use of information technology in the classroom. With a balanced program of curricular and co-curricular offerings we strive to live by our school motto: Inspire, Achieve, Create. Safi International School offers educational programs to students from over 10 nationalities. Such a diversified environment itself enables our students to develop international and intercultural awareness and understanding, which is one of our main educational emphases and prepares our students to become real-world citizens. Safi International School is an independent, not-for-profit day school offering an international curriculum for Nursery to Grade 10 students. Our mission is to educate and empower students to be compassionate and inspired people, who act for the good of all and the sustainable development of the world. All students get the opportunity to participate in the school’s Extra Curricular Activities, although some are age and gender-specific. Activities vary from sports, various creative arts (including music, drama). Pre-primary, being a child’s first experience in the formal educational system, can be an anxious time for both children and parents. This is why we have taken special care to create a warm, welcoming, and cheerful atmosphere, in which children feel secure and happy. An environment that makes them want to come to school each morning. Classrooms are bright and spacious, opening into enclosed garden spaces that allow children to explore the world of grass and sand, and flowers. A special children’s playground provides ample space for supervised play. The three-acre private park abutting the school, part of the residential campus in which the school is located, is perfect for nature walks. Ideally, learning at the pre-primary stage should be an experiential, enjoyable experience that leaves a child with a lifelong love of learning. Leading educational specialists and child psychologists believe that the best learning takes place through playing, listening, and asking questions. Not to mention observation, reflection, and exploration. At The Brigade School, experiential learning is encouraged and facilitated through enlightened, child-friendly teachers' attention to children group discussions and interactions and carefully selected books and learning aids. Our method of learning is to first listen, then speak, then read and finally write. Children are encouraged to learn about themselves and the people and things around them, including abstract concepts. The emphasis is on anxiety-free learning rather than reading and writing by rote. Nature, singing, and painting are a much-loved part of everyday school life. Children learn other important lessons to share, abide by simple rules, get on well with other children and accept the authority of kindly adults. 6. To raise an Islamic generation that contributes positively to the world around it, while using modern technology, international standards of knowledge, and Islamic cultural values as means to accomplish this goal. To provide high-quality education by creating an environment that meets the developmental needs of the individual child, and by appointing professional employees who are well educated, trained, and dedicated to achieving the requirements of the ever developing community. Proudly, Alfurat School was honored to have the first position from the academic accreditation of Advanced for five years. Advanced Accreditation is a company that improves the educational foundations’ services. Accreditation is what schools work on optionally to guarantee that their curriculums are following the accurate standards of a teaching subject. It is also, observing students' outcomes in learning to improve it accurately. To assure that everything is prepared for the students’ benefit, the accreditation policy includes curriculums, schools culture, teaching and learning procedures, educational resources, educational and administrational commission, and the school society including parents. Accreditation is as well, an assassination with a high quality of the international system in education. It also assists schools to benefit from the Advanced accreditation experiences, which helps schools to improve their educational services. Advanced accreditation provides schools with the most recent and superior tracks in education. Furthermore, Advanced accreditation, benefits the schools with their uncountable resources, like providing continuous consultation, educational flyers and brochures, and other periodic training courses. Montessori is an approach to the education of children. It is a way of looking at, and understanding, children. It is a view of how children develop and learn, which has been translated into a systematic method of education based upon careful scientific study. The Montessori educational system is unique in that it has successfully undergone continued development for one hundred years, and has been used effectively with mentally retarded, physically handicapped, normal, and gifted children in different countries around the world. Perhaps the most significant reason for its success is that it is a comprehensive method of education, resulting from an integration of research on development, learning, curriculum, and teaching. Children learn through practicing tasks rather than through listening and having to remember. In many non-Montessori classrooms, children are expected to learn by listening to the teacher. Work is usually with paper and pencil. In a Montessori classroom, on the other hand, children learn by practicing with apparatus which embodies the concept to be mastered. For example, when learning about shapes such as triangles, squares, circles, etc., instead of listening to a teacher talk about the shapes and watching them drawn on the chalkboard, the children trace real figures and make designs. They fit different shapes together to make patterns. They fit shapes into the correct corresponding holes to develop fine visual discrimination. Experience and research both indicate that children attending Montessori schools tend to be competent, self-disciplined, socially well adjusted, and happy. Children in Montessori schools are often several years above grade level in their basic skills. Also, since the Montessori education is comprehensive, children are often exceptionally knowledgeable in several other areas as well. Alfurat Schools with the cooperation of the Saudi Educational Ministry and the Advanced Accreditation is determined to apply the American International curriculums that are following the “Common Core Standards”. This decision was taken as Alfurat Schools is seeking their students to obtain the most recent education in the world. Alfurat School is aiming to provide the greatest education to their students in a safe atmosphere that can encourage students to learn perfectly at an early age while maintaining their Islamic and Arabic identities. 10. It is said that great things have small beginnings. In a modest villa, on the 4th of July 1992, we established a small nursery school by the name of Jeddah Montessori. We never dreamed that one day it would become an accredited international school of repute. Today Al Waha International School stands tall as a symbol of humility and dedicated service to the community. Al Waha International School is an international, licensed, accredited private school, providing a broad-based education, through the medium of the English language to students in classes from KG1 to Grade 12. The school aims to develop as a community with teachers, children, and parents going forward hand in hand while fostering in students high moral values and total integrity of character as taught by Islam. All efforts are made to develop in children the concepts, knowledge, attitudes, and skills required in key learning areas in the setting of a warm, caring, and safe learning environment. The stimulation of intellectual curiosity, freedom of expression, fairness, and respect for others are seen as major target areas of achievement. The vision of Al Waha International School is to foster the holistic development of its students in a progressive environment so that they desire and enjoy the pursuit of knowledge and a life consistent with Islamic teachings. The school aspires to provide a unique combination of comprehensive quality education and Islamic teachings to a varied expatriate student body, irrespective of their nationality and religion. This will be achieved in a secure, caring, and disciplined environment using a challenging curriculum that is delivered by a dedicated and qualified teaching body. This faculty will also endeavor to help each student to realize his or her full intellectual, social, moral, and physical potential while developing critical thinking skills. The school draws its philosophy from its motto ‘O Lord, Increase My Knowledge’, a quote from the Holy Quran. The Al Waha International School is dedicated to serving a diverse student body and promoting the realization of each student’s full intellectual potential in line with its mission. From the Holy Quran and the teachings of Prophet Mohammed (P.B.U.H.) we take the values we are committed to imparting: respect for each person’s dignity, truthfulness, the habit of prayer, and the quest for knowledge. We strive to teach values and morals that will help students grow into caring and compassionate adults and become responsible members of society. We aim to be teachers of integrity, helping students to discern moral truths and guiding them through careful moral reasoning in making decisions. We strive to instill in ourselves, and the children entrusted in our care, a commitment towards justice, courage, love for our fellow beings, humility, and service to others. Al Waha International School is aware of its social responsibilities. To serve a broader spectrum of the expatriate community, the school keeps fees at affordable levels, yet continues to aspire to high standards. Our Beliefs are: All decisions must be based on what is in the larger interest of students. Islamic teachings are a sound guide to aid the development of an ethical character. A safe, positive climate is necessary for social, moral, and academic growth. Students, educators, support staff, and the community must be partners in the educational process. Care and compassion must be a part of the educator’s character to respond to a child’s needs. A nurturing home environment plays a critical role in the student’s development. Effective support must be extended to parents to assist the process. Close communication with parents plays a vital role in optimizing student learning. Excellence in education can be achieved for all students through planning instructional strategies and resources and by tapping higher-order thinking to accomplish results. Professional development of the staff is critical to our effectiveness. The worth, talents, and dignity of each student and employee must be respected. A large part of the curriculum offered at Al Waha is adapted from the National Curriculum of England and Wales. The school follows this scholastic system in the core subjects of English, Mathematics, and Science, and the foundation subjects of History and Geography. A challenging curriculum, designed to encourage academic excellence and responsible study habits, while developing analytical and critical thinking skills across the grade level, has continuously been targeted in line with the vision of the school. To ensure students of KG 1 and KG 2 are equipped with skills that help them meet with challenges of the Cambridge Primary course of study, the Kindergarten provides a curriculum that is a fusion of elements of Montessori education, and the conventional schooling system, based on the guidelines provided by Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) of the Cambridge Curriculum. This specially designed curriculum integrates traditional teaching with Montessori learning, targeting skill development through a range of objectives drawn from both systems. Mathematics, Language, and Culture (Science, Geography, History, General Knowledge) studies work in tandem with the development of life skills through lessons in Practical Life, and Grace and Courtesy. Sensorial exploration is an essential part of learning. Children enhance knowledge firmly through movement, manipulation, and self-realization. Addressing the needs that are typical of the formative years of a child’s growth, where information is swiftly absorbed and further built upon as maturity develops, the school incorporates into its syllabus, exercises that enhance higher-order thinking abilities and provide a basis for reasoning. With gradual progression in the acquisition of skills closely monitored, as one grade forms the foundation for subsequent grades, the syllabus includes all developmental objectives that prepare students for the scholastic challenges that lie ahead. From Grades 4 – 8, a comprehensive academic program leads students to target the world-recognized, Cambridge University-administered International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations in Grade 10 and the General Certificate of Education, Advanced Subsidiary and Advanced Level (GCE AS and ‘A’ Level) examinations in Grades 10, 11 and 12. The IGCSE subject options have been designed to provide each student with a Subject Portfolio that aims to deliver a broad-based, balanced, and diversified curriculum including subjects drawn from each of the disciplines, i.e. Languages, Mathematics, Sciences, Humanities, and Technical and Vocational. Efforts have been made to ensure that, by choosing the right combination of subjects, all students are eligible for the ICE (International Certificate of Education), a group award conferred by the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). Senior students who have been obtaining outstanding grades in English, Mathematics, and the Sciences in their IGCSE examinations and have been graduating with ICE distinction and merit awards have successively done the school proud over the last several years. Beginning with a rigorous and challenging two-year GCE Advanced Level (‘A’ Level) Programme in September 2005 in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, the school has subsequently widened the scope and breadth of this academic offering. It is now possible for students to offer a combination of Advanced/Advanced Subsidiary Levels (A/AS Level) in Science as well as Commerce-based subjects with English, Advanced Information and Communication Technology, Business Studies, Accounting, and Economics having been added to the subjects menu. Founded partly on its mission of providing a modern curriculum to students in combination with Islamic teachings, and, based on the firm belief that all Muslim students need a deeper insight into the History of Islam, a suitable curriculum for History from Grades 3 – 8 has been developed. This curriculum aims to integrate crucial elements of Islamic History with essential components of ancient civilizations, Roman, British, and World history that form the basis for developing the target knowledge and skills in the subject (factual recall of knowledge, critical analysis of historical events, and facts, interpretation of sources, etc). Due importance is given to the subject of Information Technology and the course is designed to teach students the basic skills of computing from an early age. All students must study a second language and they are offered an option between Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, and French (available from Grade 6 upwards). Religious instruction is an integral part of the curriculum and is delivered through lessons in Quran, Hadith, and Islamic Studies for Muslim students. 11. Non-Muslim children are offered instruction in Values Education, drawing upon the virtues and ethical guidelines advocated by the major religions of the world. Religious tolerance and the development of moral values are actively inculcated at all levels. The study of the culture, history, and geography of Saudi Arabia is taken up at all levels and special general knowledge quizzes and field trips are conducted to further familiarise the students with the heritage of their host country. We follow a widely recognized curriculum design framework, Understanding by Design, to prioritize enduring understandings and transferable skills for students. To ensure a high-quality curriculum, AISJ has established a Curriculum Review process. We examine each subject area in depth once every 5 years to make sure that the curriculum is up-to-date and reflects our changing world. The AISJ elementary school is firmly rooted in the belief that learning is built upon a strong foundation. We are committed to the development of the Whole Child, providing a balanced program that addresses children’s social, emotional, and academic development. We aim to make learning relevant and meaningful to students by adopting an inquiry-based, integrated curriculum that focuses on the child as a learner. We recognize that children come to us as distinct individuals with unique experiences, backgrounds, abilities, and interests. Middle school is an essential time in our children’s lives as they begin to transition into becoming young adults. In middle school, we carefully blend caring relationships with responsibility and reflection, ensuring that each day your children are at AISJ, they will not only be learning their academic skills, but also the interpersonal skills of teamwork, personal responsibility, academic integrity, community awareness, and social justice. The AISJ high school is "a community of passionate learners, developing a culture of discovery and excellence to impact our world for the better." This is who we are and what we do. While the bulk of our teachers come from North America, we hail from all around the world and provide students with a safe and diverse learning environment. Within the classroom, students are presented with opportunities to demonstrate their learning in a variety of ways from project-based learning to traditional paper and pencil exams. We also recognize the importance of technology and the reality that computers, handheld devices, and the internet are all valuable resources and should be embraced as we move ever more quickly from today into the future. Each teacher and class of students creates a blended environment of in-class and online instruction. We are a one-to-one school, and every student has the necessary hardware and electronic resources at their fingertips all the time, enabling them to integrate the use of technology into their learning experience seamlessly.

  24. Holistic education and that the extra-curricular and co-curricular activities are as important as the formal curriculum. Our boys and girls must develop their natural curiosity and acquire the skills necessary to conduct inquiry and research. They must be able to explore concepts, ideas, and issues that have global significance, and exercise initiative in applying thinking skills effectively, and make reasoned, ethical decisions. They must be able to understand and address ideas and information effectively and act with honesty and integrity, with a strong sense of justice and fairness. They must take responsibility for their actions. Students of international schools must also try to understand and appreciate their own cultures and be open to the perspectives, values, and traditions of others. They should show empathy, compassion, and respect towards the needs and feelings of others, and have the independence of spirit to explore new roles, ideas, and strategies. They should also give thoughtful consideration to their learning and experience. If we can provide an environment that offers all these, our children will thrive. We follow the National Curriculum for England to the end of Year 9, GCSE courses in Years 10 and 11, and A levels courses in Years 12-13. We benchmark ourselves against private and leading state schools in Britain. We have long-standing links with British universities. Our staff frequently go on training courses in the U.K. and we bring British trainers, speakers, and facilitators into school to work directly with staff and students. We have a strong and valued relationship with the British embassy and with the RGBB. Our adherence to a modified National Curriculum for England enables students to transfer seamlessly to U.K. schools or universities if or when they return to Britain. We are independent of the UK government and we are not overseen by any local authority. Ofsted has no power over our practices and although we cast a critical eye over UK initiatives, our educational practice is governed by one simple question What is in the best interests of our students? We have 55 nationalities in the school and we have to prepare our students for life in a complex and interdependent world. Preparation for university is a must, but we also have a responsibility to prepare students for life beyond the university in an increasingly complex world. Global citizenship and global ethos must have a core place in all that we do. In our school, we feel that we must strive to instill in our students ethical behavior and an appreciation of diversity. They must understand and be able to act on global issues, communicate in more than one language and develop a sense of personal responsibility to a wider community. We believe that our curriculum, as well as the very broad enrichment program, enables our students to experience a British and International education. The British International School Riyadh offers a curriculum that is based on the National Curriculum of England. British education has achieved a worldwide reputation for quality and is recognized and respected around the world. One of the huge benefits is how transferable it is students can move seamlessly from country to country or back to the UK. The National Curriculum of England (also commonly referred to as the “UK Curriculum”) is a very structured curriculum that is designed to meet the needs of all students, stretching brighter children and supporting those who need it through differentiated teaching and learning activities. The curriculum extends and excites all students, whatever their interests or ability. Through it, teachers can identify, celebrate and nurture the talents and intelligence of students. The Primary section of the school is made up of the Foundation stage and Key stages 1 and 2. On entry to the school, we always seek to place children in an age-relevant year group. The Foundation Stage comprises Foundation 1 (children aged 3-4, and Foundation 2, (children aged 4-5). The curriculum at this level guides the learning and teaching process and helps us to establish an optimum learning environment. We believe that to engage, achieve and make positive contributions students must be healthy, secure, and safe. We value all of these needs and understand their contribution to the development of happy students in an enjoyable, encouraging, and stimulating atmosphere. The British School is well prepared to cater to the academic and social needs of internationally mobile students and encourages all students to constantly challenge themselves. Our teachers nurture students who are intellectually curious, creative, respectful, caring, and discerning young adults, conscious of their responsibility to the community and their environment. Parents are encouraged to work in partnership with the school and support it in its mission of continual improvement. The Senior School Curriculum (11-18 years of age) is organized to ensure that all students receive a broad, balanced, and articulated learning entitlement, which is coherent within each Key Stage, as well as being progressive and continuous, building upon the foundations laid during the Primary school.
