Our school is a magnet school located in Southern Taiwan Science Park. It was founded to provide an excellent education for the children of the employees working in the Southern Taiwan Science Park and to establish an educational foundation for the development of the science park and the local community. In 1997, Nanke Junior High School was established with Dr. Kuang Ming Huang as its director. Mr. Da Yong Guo and Mr. Kun Ho Fang became the first and second principals of the school. In 1998, Nanke Elementary School was founded with Mr. Chang Dao Lu as its director and principal. In April 2006, Mr. Chun Cheng Wang was designated as its director before the two schools were merged. In August 2006, after the high school and the elementary school merged, Dr. Hsu Chang Tai took over as the first principal of the newly formed school. Dr. Kuan Tsai Lin was the second principal of the school. The current school principal is Mr. Wen-Jyh Chyn. The school has about 2,266 students and 209 staff, and provides 1-12 education, emphasizes the continuity in education from elementary to high school, and integration of science park resources for innovative teaching and learning. The school has 12 classes in the senior high department, 21 classes in the junior high department, 42 classes in the elementary department, and 12 classes in the bilingual department. The school is working on creative teaching methods to become a top international school that establishes a firm foundation in the humanities featuring a magnet program in science. In 2017, the school was awarded the highest honor in school accreditation by the Taiwan Ministry of Education. The school organizes various activities for students to provide a well-rounded education. Established in September 1983, Rueishiang was previously named“Kaohsiung Municipal Rueisiang Junior High School” It was reorganized in 1995 and was the first six-year high school in Kaohsiung. Now, it is a 30-year-old, co-educational school, including junior and senior high students. RSSH consists of Grade 7th–9th ( 13-15 years old) and Grade 10th-12th (16-18 years old). The total number of students is over 3000, including 63 junior high school classes and 27 senior high school classes. Through the cooperation and diligence of teachers and students, RSSH has achieved excellent performances in various fields of learning. The total area of RSSH is 4.9 hectares. Hsinchu County American School (HCAS) was established in 2016 to fulfill the vision of Dr. Johnson Korrnell Huang to challenge the current education system in Taiwan. In summary, he saw the need to produce students who will have a lasting impact on society - changing the world and saving lives. Dr. Huang also envisioned students who will stop, think (critically), and act (fearlessly). Dr. Huang believes that just as the purpose of a hospital is to save lives and to alleviate pain, the mission of a good school is to influence future generations and to create aspirations. By combining the Western educational principles with Chinese educational philosophies, students at HCAS will benefit by learning the best of both cultures while being oriented and setting their standards toward North America. There are many stakeholders at Hsinchu County American School (HCAS). These stakeholders include the Board of Trustees, parents, teachers, students, and members of the administration as well as the staff. Two of the important functions of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) are to streamline the communication between parents and our school and to give support to our school. PTA at HCAS was not created from an appointment from the school nor by the election from the parent body. Parents from all grades simply began to gather on a volunteer basis to share their concerns in an ad hoc manner until the body formed its organization and momentum. HCAS then naturally decided to formally recognize this gathering as the official PTA meeting. As described by Horace Mann, individuals organized in voluntary associations, just as our education should be taught by the spirit, methods, and discipline of a free society. Currently, parent representatives from all grades meet once a month at our school. At Hsinchu County American School (HCAS), student council members are elected every academic year to represent the student body and to serve as a channel for communication for administration and other stakeholders of the community. Student Council provides a unique opportunity to put forward the issues and policies that matter to students. As originally espoused by John Dewey, student council activities often engage students in learning about democracy and leadership. Dominican International School is a Catholic, private, English medium school owned and governed by the Dominican Sisters. It was formerly a US Government contract (D.O.D.) school for the military dependents of the United States Forces in Taipei. The Sisters are members of the Institute of the Religious Missionaries of St. Dominic, a congregation of Spanish origin with the Motherhouse in Rome, Italy, when at that time their Provincialate House was located in Manila, Philippines. New Taipei City is Taiwan's largest municipality many professional Taiwanese citizens and foreign expatriates work and live in New Taipei City. It is bewildering then to see that up until now that there has been no international or American school available to this large population. Our school was founded in September 1946, with the name "Taipei County Banqiao Junior High School." It is also called “Garden of Lindens”, for there are originally two ancient lindens, which are once known as one of the greatest scenes of “Ten Impressive Scenery of Banqiao.” In 1950, August, Banqiao Junior High School began to establish and turn into senior high school. Afterward, our school, including junior and senior high, was formally established in February 1952. The same year in August, it was further restructured and titled, "Taiwan Provincial Banqiao Senior High School." On February 1st, 2000, our school was renamed, "National Banqiao Senior High School." Our school is a Catholic high school that was founded by Dr. Yao in 1969. In the beginning, our school was registered as Sacred Heart Industrial and Commercial Vocational Senior High School. Dr. Yao was the first principal. By 1971, the construction of the school buildings and school factories had been completed. The equipment for classrooms had also been purchased and teachers had been recruited. In 1971, our school had enrolled a total of 110 students for the three following courses: Synthetic Business, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Teachers have three characteristics: love, patience, and passion, and educate the youth, irrespective of background. Students also have three characteristics: concentration, peaceful mind and purity, and willingness to open up their minds for wisdom and follow the sage precursors. In 1972, our school was permitted to set up a night school. Since the establishment of the school, Dr. Yao went abroad many times to visit many different countries, such as the USA, Canada, West Germany, and Italy to raise funds to help develop the school. However, the job of raising funds became more and more difficult. Under such tough circumstances, we still tried hard and managed to complete Sacred Heart Building and the school gym to make our campus more efficient. Later, to follow the government’s policy of developing more Complete Schools and Comprehensive High Schools for Taiwanese students, we then included general senior high courses in 1990 and changed the school’s name to Sacred Heart High School. Therefore, our school could continue to provide students in Keelung with a superior education environment. Our founder, Dr. Yao retired in 1990 due to bad health. Our School Vision diagram is created from a skeleton of the School Logo the cross stands for the school’s belonging to the Catholic system. Love gives life to the spirit of the cross. When the cross is embraced by a red heart of love, this made a cast on its feature, the spirit of love, from the background vividly. Our school has made great progress in recent years. In 1995, we included junior high courses. Approved by the Ministry of Education, our school has become a Complete School. After the retirement of Principal Shih Yi-Tsai, Mr. Chih Yi-Chuan was appointed by the school board as the third principal in 2003. In 2009, the school board assigned the director of the Academic Office, Ms. Lu He-Fong, to be the fourth principal. In 2013, Ms. Yang Ru-Jing took over the responsibility and became the fifth principal. In the same year, our school’s name was changed to Fu Jen Sacred Heart High School. It was a new milestone for our school and Principal Yang will continue leading all the staff to overcome the new challenges in the future. Students’ Affairs Office is in charge of all aspects of the students’ school life including meals, uniforms, dormitories, school buses, and extracurricular activities. The office is also responsible for guiding students. The main job of Students’ Affairs is to focus on three dimensions-learning, volunteering, life caring, and moral education.
