The intern will be assigned to the environmental department for the entire duration of 16 months. The General Motors St. Catharines Propulsion Plant proudly manufactures the V6 engine, V8 engine, Dual Clutch 8-Speed Transmission, and the Global Front Wheel Drive 6 speed transmission. A new product retool will be occurring at the plant to build an electric drive unit that will replace the V6 and GF6 products! Once our products are ready for distribution, they are shipped to 10 different GM assembly plants world-wide. The preferred candidate will be a self-motivated, confident engineering student with strong problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills. You will be required to work with minimal direction, and will be expected to continually improve the operation of your area and equipment. Also, you must have a valid unrestricted driver’s licence.
