All staff was involved in the introduction of a new whole-school approach to behavior. A training day was attended by teaching and non-teaching staff to discuss the areas that needed attention and to agree on solutions that would be positive and beneficial to all persons involved. The Health and Safety of all members of the school community is paramount and we would not, knowingly, put any member of it at risk. We will do our utmost to provide a safe, secure, and stimulating environment for all who work in it. In all aspects of school life, including the delivery of the curriculum, we are mindful of the need to consider Health and Safety implications and, to that end,…

Based upon the principles of the internationally recognized Steiner Waldorf curriculum, we aim to develop responsible, free-thinking young people who can contribute to society with initiative and purpose. Steiner described his ideal of a comprehensive education as one that encompasses everyone regardless of social or religious background. The basis of this ‘art of education was – and still is – a deep understanding of the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of the developing human being. The philosophy (Anthroposophy) behind education can be applied to all walks of life and it is out of this that the teachers work. The philosophy itself, however, is…

Our school gives children real-time to develop and to enjoy childhood unrushed. We work hard to cultivate our children’s sense of awe and wonder, providing real experiences at a gentle pace. Children have time to watch, listen, build confidence and try new things. Learning is sequential and adapted to suit each individual and we celebrate the many differences that make up our diverse community. Technologies and research tools are introduced gradually as children are ready to explore their wider environment and all aspects of daily life are considered important. The joy a toddler experiences when we give them the chance to dress themselves is valued as much as an older chi…

As a Hadeeth (narration) from the prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) teaches us, “People are like treasures – just like treasures of gold and silver.” As we know, gold and silver do not simply come out of the ground ready to be made into jewelry. Much effort is spent finding the gold and extracting it from the ground. Craftsmen then labor for hours on end to turn it into something of beauty. At Eden Girls’ School, Waltham Forest our aim is simple – we want to provide the best education, opportunities, and support to enable your child to flourish and succeed. We will provide a school where high-powered learning, progress, and achievement is coupled with a commitment…
