  1. We are part of The Boleyn Trust, with children aged from 3 to 11, situated in Manor Park. The majority of our families live locally to the school, many in the Manor Park Ward. Our school is three form entry from Reception to Year 6 and we offer a Nursery. The staff and Governors at our school are committed to providing the very best learning opportunities for your child in a safe, secure, and friendly community environment. We provide very high-quality education with a strong focus on teaching children key skills in English and maths. Alongside this, we teach an exciting international-themed curriculum, including many learning experiences outside of the classroom through a range of school trips and by inviting experts into school. During your child’s time in our school, alongside the full statutory curriculum, they will have the opportunity to learn to speak a language, learn to play an instrument, learn to swim and visit many places of interest. We have a strong focus on using technology as a learning tool and the children have access to a range of technology including the use of netbooks and tablets. We have the highest expectations of all our children and we expect them to aim high and to achieve their full potential academically and with their personal social development both in and out of school. We have a strong belief in good behavior and good manners with an emphasis on caring for each other and taking on responsibility. We want all our children to go onto secondary school ready to further develop their lifelong love of learning, with a solid foundation in the core skills enabling them to build upon these skills, and to become confident, successful, and responsible citizens for the future. We promote ‘Successful Learners’ for all our children and our Vision Statement is to: Ensure we provide a safe and secure learning environment where your child can thrive. Teach an exciting and rich curriculum both inside and outside the classroom that allows your child to physically, emotionally, and academically develop and to enable your child to achieve individual success. Equip your child with core academic and social skills needed to be prepared for life. Support your child to develop and to take ownership of their learning. Provide an excellent team of highly skilled and trained Governors and staff who are committed to a shared sense of purpose. Build active partnerships with our parents/ carers, and the local community At Mega Primary School we expect every child to be a successful learner. We set the foundations for this to happen by delivering an Outstanding Education to every child daily with exceptional teaching and learning. At Mega Primary School we expect every teacher to be an Outstanding Teacher and we expect every child to be a Successful Learner. To enable this to happen we have procedures in place to ensure our children are provided with high-quality learning experiences that lead to consistently high levels of achievement. Continued and sustained improvement is dependent upon improving the quality of classroom-focused teaching and learning taking place daily. At Mega Primary School we listen to children’s and parents’ voices. Our school behavior policy is clear that children are expected to contribute and co-operate, taking into account the views of others. The School Council also allows children to have a voice by participating in the election of class representatives and putting forward their views and suggestions. Within school, children are actively encouraged to make choices, knowing that they are in a safe and supportive environment. As a school, we educate and provide boundaries for young children to make choices safely, through our provision of a safe environment and empowering teaching. Children are encouraged to know, understand and exercise their rights and personal freedoms. Part of our school ethos and behavior policy has revolved around Core Values such as ‘Respect’, and children are modeled this by caring, sharing, and listening to others. The staff help children to understand how to respect by talking about how actions/words can affect others. View full school

  5. We tell our children to 'reach for the stars and that's exactly what we do! It is our firm belief that we are capable of so many amazing things and at Mitchell Brook, we ensure our children get the best of as much as we can give them - just to inspire greatness. For us, we must give our children as many experiences as possible to ensure that they are well equipped to succeed in today's rapidly moving society. As a result, our children have the opportunity to experience visiting many different places both locally and further across the country, they work with an author every year, have the opportunity to experience visiting a West End theatre at least twice, have regular instrumental sessions, and much, much more. Our expectations are consistently high not just from ourselves as educators but of the children and families that are part of our community as well. As you will see, Mitchell Brook is very much about community. It is about forming sound and positive relationships built on mutual trust. We have many opportunities for home and school to work closely together. At Mitchell Brook, our vision is for all our children to be confident, self-believing, life-long learners. Essentially, we see learning as fun and work hard to make it so! We reinforce our core STARS values to further encourage the children to succeed in becoming successful and confident life-long learners. Successful, Team focused, Team, focused, Respectful, Spirited. Our Pupils are encouraged to know, understand and exercise their rights and personal freedoms and advised how to exercise these safely, for example through E-Safety lessons. Whether it be through choice of learning challenges, of how they record a piece of learning, or through participation in our range of extra-curricular clubs and opportunities, pupils are given the freedom to make choices. Religious Education, Personal Development, and RRSA teaching reinforce this. In RE lessons, members of different faiths or religions are encouraged to share their knowledge to enhance learning within classes and the school, and classes visit places of worship that are important to different faiths. At Mitchell Brook, the curriculum is engaging, relevant, stimulating, and inspiring. This develops the inquiring ‘minds of tomorrow’ into forward-thinking, problem-solving, understanding, and confident potential leaders. By providing a holistic learning experience today, pupils are equipped with the skills to become the professionals of the future. This vision for our curriculum underpins all the learning that takes place in our school. Our high expectations drive pupils to raise their expectations, in learning, in their social interactions, and ultimately in their lives. We encourage independent learning and self-reflection to prepare our students for a future we cannot see while ensuring their academic excellence and well-being remain our highest priorities. 9. Minworth, a school found on the outskirts of Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, where learning is alive! On behalf of the entire school community, we warmly welcome you to our website where we aim to give you a flavor of who we are and what we do at Minworth. It is a great pleasure to introduce myself as headteacher of this wonderful school a school steeped in so much history but equally one with such a bright future. We used to pride ourselves on being one of the few remaining small village schools in Birmingham. However, the success we have achieved over the past few years has put paid to that and we have increased significantly in size as a result. So what do we take pride in now? Well, several things. First, and most importantly, we are proud of our children. They enjoy coming to school, they work hard and their behavior is exceptional. They are a credit both to ourselves and their parents. Secondly, we are proud of our achievement. Aside from a blip in 2016, a fate of several schools due to several limiting factors, standards have risen rapidly and we now achieve standards over national averages, a testament to the excellent teaching across the school and the hard-working ethic instilled in our children. Thirdly, we are proud of our creative curriculum. Our children tell us they enjoy coming to school and they enjoy the work they do, particularly the frequent themed days and educational visits! Finally, we are proud of the pastoral care that we provide to all of our pupils, treating them as individuals, tailoring any support to their specific needs, and ensuring that we give them the very best opportunities to succeed. As Ofsted reported in our most recent inspection, 'we are an inclusive school.' At Minworth, we are exceptionally proud of our Minworth Jigsaw, a set of values and principles developed by our staff, children, and parents that underpin our aspirations for all children. All staff make regular reference to them and children are encouraged to achieve them, frequently being rewarded for doing so. We recognize that children need to be educated socially, morally, and spiritually as much as they do academically for them to be successful in modern Britain. Termly, we select children to receive a special award in our 'Jigsaw assembly.' Past winners can be seen below enjoying the tea party that follows the award presentation with their family. At Minworth JI School, our teaching is compliant with the National Curriculum and teachers write and plan topics to enthuse and engage pupils through the 'Prospectus' thematic curriculum. Each year group has a specific theme that integrates and runs through other curriculum areas, which form the basis of termly or half-termly plans. This thematic approach allows our children plenty of opportunities to explore, discover and develop into deep, life-long learners. At Minworth, in addition to their academic learning, we believe children should also be taught to develop socially, morally, culturally, and spiritually. To ensure this happens, our Minworth Jigsaw values are taught, promoted, and celebrated throughout our curriculum. Furthermore, we also promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect, and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs. View full school

  11. Minet Junior is a welcoming school in the heart of its community where every child is valued and included. We “make it happen together” ensuring that all our children are critical thinkers with high expectations who understand that learning never stops. We are aspirational and believe that all children are capable of achieving their full potential by nurturing and cultivating them in all that they learn, experience, and do, to master their skills and seek to achieve ultimate greatness throughout their life-long learning journey. At Minet Junior School we aim to promote a healthy atmosphere based on care and consideration for others. We aim to promote self-esteem in the children, and a sense of respect to adults in our community. We believe that a positive ethos is a vital ingredient in a successful school. We aim to praise good work and behavior wherever possible. We also ensure that every child is allowed to succeed. We require you to agree with our school ethos and show a willingness to engage in respect for all communities and faiths and show a desire to live as one community with everyone observing and respecting each other’s cultures and beliefs. The Local Authority requires all schools to report any obvious or suspected case of child abuse. This may be a non-accidental injury, physical neglect, emotional abuse, and/or sexual abuse. The designated teachers for Child Protection are the Inclusions Manager and Mrs. Birch the Headteacher. Schools are encouraged to take the attitude that, where there are grounds for suspicion, it is better to be safe than sorry. The procedure is intended to protect children who may be at risk. At Minet Junior School we have an open-door policy and encourage parents to speak to staff if they have concerns At Minet Junior, Relationship Education forms only one part of our personal, social, and health education program. The Governing body has decided that SRE education should take the form of a "spiral Curriculum" to allow the subject to be developed over a period to build on the children’s levels of understanding. We also see that the parents have a crucial role to play in the child's development and this subject should be a shared experience between home and school. The above criteria may change if the governing body decides to alter its policy. The school has a thematic approach to the creative curriculum which provides a broad and balanced curriculum driven by Chris Quigley’s Awesome Art. The creative curriculum is designed around a topic that is taught over weeks. The creative curriculum covers the objectives from the national curriculum for the foundation subjects in a fun and engaging way. This curriculum also lends itself to supporting the skills taught in reading, writing, and math A Minet, we primarily aim to develop respect in our children, and children are encouraged to take responsibility for their behavior. Our behavior policy is centered on the 6Rs. We believe that rewards for successes are much more effective than sanctions for mistakes made. To encourage this, we have a golden ticket system through which children can work towards the reward of the ‘golden table’ View full school
  12. To encourage this, we have a golden ticket system through which children can work towards the reward of the ‘golden table’

  17. Welcome to Millstead Primary School. There are 130 pupils on roll at Millstead School. 113 children have a Statement of Special Educational Need or Education, Health and Social Care Plan due to having severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, or complex autism. 17 children have an assessment place as it has been recognized that they have significant learning difficulties but professionals have not yet been able to establish their level of cognitive functioning to identify the best long-term educational provision. Some of these children may undergo statutory assessment. Some children may return to a mainstream school, a resource provision in a mainstream school, or go on to a specialist school. Pupils are grouped according to the stage of development and follow a curriculum designed to meet their needs. Millstead is recognized as an Outstanding school and we are extremely proud of the achievements of all members of the school community. We strive to provide the very best learning and development opportunities for all and ensure a personalized learning journey for each individual. Millstead provides a holistic environment where we learn, care, and achieve together. We provide a real, exciting, creative, and personalized curriculum that is accessible to all children. We value individuality. We provide opportunities to develop the self-esteem, confidence, and independence of all children. We create a safe, stable, welcoming, and stimulating environment where individuals are happy and have a positive attitude. We build strong and meaningful relationships based on mutual respect and value. We recognize and celebrate all cultural and religious backgrounds. We provide a friendly, warm, welcoming school where families, school staff, and other professionals work together for the benefit of the children. Sensory circuits are physical activities that help to alert, organize and then relax the senses of the pupils so that they are ready to take part in-class activities. Participating in a short sensory-motor circuit is a great way to alert or calm pupils and settle them into the school day. At Millstead School, we run up to 35 lunchtime clubs each week. Each time a child attends a club of their choice they earn Children's University 'credits'. At the end of the year, these credits are totaled up and children graduate. They get to wear a cap and gown family and friends are invited to the special ceremony to help them to celebrate. In 2014 27 children graduated. Since moving to our new building in Everton with all our extra facilities we were able to offer extra clubs to cater for all interests and tastes. That meant that in 2015 101 children graduated. We needed to host the two ceremonies just to get everyone in. View full school

  19. Millfields is a much larger than average primary school. The school serves an area of significant deprivation and its pupils represent a very wide range of ethnic backgrounds, with the largest groups being those of Asian, White, Black Caribbean, and Black African heritage. The community is culturally and ethnically diverse: some 8% of our pupils are Turkish, 6% African Caribbean, 66% White British, 11% from other white European backgrounds, and the remainder are from a wide range of ethnic groups represented in smaller numbers. This means that the percentage of pupils from minority ethnic groups is more than twice the national average and therefore the school works hard to be culturally inclusive. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school. Many pupils speak English as an additional language and a large proportion are at the early stages of learning the language. A small number are the children of refugees or those seeking asylum. Millfields Community School has been a UNICEF Rights Respecting School since 2004 and was re-accredited for the third time with Level 2 in July 2017. The UNICEF UK Rights Respecting School Award (RRSA) is based on principles of equality, dignity, respect, non-discrimination, and participation. The RRSA seeks to put the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child at the heart of a school’s ethos and culture to improve well-being and develop every child’s talents and abilities to their full potential. A rights-respecting school is a community where children’s rights are learned, taught, practiced, respected, protected, and promoted. Young people and the school community learn about children’s rights by putting them into practice every day. We are at the end of another very busy and productive term that has been enriching for the children, but also challenging and tough in many ways for the whole school community. I hope that the collaboration, support, empathy, and understanding that we have shared will give us strength and unity to keep focusing on the well-being, enrichment, and progress of the pupils, staff, and school as a whole. Once again, thank you for your collective support. At Millfields Community School we offer a curriculum that is broad and balanced to ensure every child reaches their full potential and has access to a range of educational experiences whatever their starting points or circumstance. The curriculum incorporates the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum 2014. Millfields continues to revise and review the bespoke school curriculum on a termly basis. Each of our classes is named after a city in the United Kingdom. This encourages our pupils to learn about another area of the country in which they live. On Transition Day in the summer term, the class writes a letter to the council of each city, and then the pupils are set a homework task to find out and create a model or make a presentation on an interesting fact/s about the city that their class is named after. At the beginning of the Autumn term, each class then does a 2-day project on the city. This year we also introduced the idea of 'Twin Cities' and the pupils learned about which city in the world their class city name is twinned with. Pupils at Millfields are provided with a clear progression of opportunity to engage with and be part of, a rich, varied, and comprehensive curriculum that reflects the interests of the school, its staff, pupils, parents, and the wider national and global communities. Although literacy and mathematics are planned discreetly in weekly plans, many topic areas are relevant in these lessons, particularly through the choice of texts and writing outcomes in literacy. Whole-school approaches to reading support quality teaching and learning. Specialist teachers support the teaching of music, Modern Foreign Languages, Physical Education, and the creative curriculum. Subject leaders are allowed to develop their subject knowledge, skills, and understanding so they can support curriculum development in the subjects they lead. Theme weeks, trips, and opportunities to engage in workshops within and outside school enrich and develop the children’s learning. The spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development of our pupils and their understanding of the core values of our society are woven through the curriculum. Millfields is a fully inclusive primary school and follows the inclusive policy of all Hackney schools. At Millfields, we ensure that the needs of all pupils, children with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, children who are more able or gifted, children who have English as an additional language, children who have difficulty managing their behavior, and children with social and emotional needs have appropriate, effective and timely support, challenge and intervention, to meet their social, emotional and academic potential. We believe that every child can make progress and achieve and that it is our job to make sure that this happens. We ensure that teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of all of our pupils. Millfields also has provision for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. The safety and well-being of the children at Millfields is our priority. Children cannot learn unless they feel happy and safe. We adhere to stringent Safeguarding procedures to protect the welfare of all the children who come here. It is the moral and legal duty of all adults in charge of children to be ready to protect children in danger from abuse. Education staff has a responsibility to observe, monitor, and refer suspected abuse. Any member of staff suspecting child abuse or neglect must refer their suspicions to the Designated Safeguarding Lead or Head Teacher, who will then refer to the local Social Care Team if appropriate. Staff must be aware that many more children experience abuse than are registered as requiring protection. It is therefore essential that school staff are vigilant in identifying abuse. School staff has regular training opportunities to ensure that they are kept up to date with current policies and procedures. As a school, we have a legal duty to prevent extremism -safeguard children from extremist ideology to safeguard children at risk of sexual exploitation, and safeguard children at risk of abuse through female genital mutilation. As well as following our policy, we are adopting the guidance of the 'London Safeguarding Children Board'. Millfields Governing Body is made up of volunteers who are committed to ensuring that high standards are achieved and maintained throughout the school. We are ultimately responsible for the success of the school, including the appointing of the headteacher who reports to us and attends all board meetings. Our governors are either a parent of a pupil in school, a member of the local community, a member of staff or are appointed by Hackney Learning Trust. Parent and staff governors are elected and every governor is expected to serve a four-year term. The full Governing Body meets once every term. This meeting is dedicated to general business, including scrutinizing reports from the Headteacher, other school leaders and looking at feedback from visits that Governors and other outside agencies, all make to the school. We discuss the progress children are making, new approaches to teaching and learning, and consider both local and national initiatives and issues such as how to ensure the Pupil Premium is used to best effect. There is also a time in the meeting to audit and develop skills and reflect on how we can best help the school to achieve excellence. View full school

  21. Millfield School is a remarkable place. From its foundation in 1935, with six princes brought from India, Millfield is today one of the leading UK independent schools for boys and girls, aged 2-18 years and spans from Pre-Prep and Prep, to Senior and Sixth Form, and Millfield Enterprises offering English language holiday courses. We pride ourselves on providing an exceptional, all-round education that enables each child to try everything on offer, to find out what they enjoy and are good at. The capacity to engage pupils at many different levels is central to life at Millfield and we offer countless opportunities across many different learning contexts both inside and outside the classroom. Talented and committed staff work with our pupils to achieve these ends. The school is grounded in the strength of relationships that are the bedrock of all great communities. Millfield is tremendously diverse in terms of the academic, cultural, and sporting backgrounds of its pupils, and we celebrate this diversity. Millfield is committed to building on its legacy to look forward without losing sight of what has come before. As a community, we have established a collective set of values for all: every child, every employee, and every volunteer. Our values will act as a target and a guide, in our learning, our work, and our life at school. They will help each individual to discover their brilliance. We are diverse in a way that others are not we are on a scale that others are not we have ambitions for our students that others do not. We encourage our students to question and challenge and ask why? To be bold, to be honest, we champion student's voices, we are disruptors for positive change, and we seek new and better ways to do things. We want to be at the forefront of child development, they are the future. We help each individual to discover their brilliance. This starts in the Pre-Prep, through the Prep School, and into the Senior School. From the moment our children arrive, aged two onwards, we help them develop their character, resilience, relationships, abilities, skills, and knowledge. The Millfield Way is an attitude that brings together key staff in a child's life in a way that does not happen in other schools. It is an excellence of teaching and coaching with the child at the center. Once your child has found their passion, we tailor an education program that is right for them, wherever their talents lie. As one of the largest co-educational boarding and day schools in the UK with over 1280 pupils in the senior school (75% are boarders) and 440 in the Prep School (31% are boarders, aged 7+), we have the resources to offer world-leading teaching and coaching. The Millfield Way - an attitude that brings together key staff in a child's life. Excellence in teaching and coaching with the child at the center. We tailor an education program around them. Our Prep school is on 160 acres of grounds and has a 25m swimming pool, recital hall, art, design, and technology center, five science laboratories, a golf course, an equestrian center, and a shooting range. Around our three boys boarding houses and two girls boarding houses, there is plenty of outdoor space for building camps, and we have an assault course, climbing wall, and tennis courts. Our Senior school is set in 200 acres and features an Olympic sized swimming pool, golf course, equestrian center with stabling for 90 horses, indoor cricket and golf centers, fencing salle, a wonderful concert hall, theatre, art gallery, and a world-class music center, spacious dining room and cutting edge science facilities. The school has 18 boarding houses, including specialist Year 9 only houses, and five-day houses.
  23. There is a great energy at Millbrook Park Church of England Primary School in our learning that influences our curriculum, sporting aspirations, music, and daily life. Underpinning all that we do is our Christian faith and commitment to the Convention for the Rights of a Child. Our children are joyful risk-takers, curious learners, intelligent thinkers, polite servants who support and are supported by one another. As a community of parents, friends, school staff, and governors we are aspiring to nurture a child who can stand tall in the world that they inhabit, committed to their welfare and promoting it. Without a doubt, their future world will be very different from ours but if we walk together and see our common duty is to equip our children spiritually and with as many resources as possible. And when it is their turn, they too will take on the duty of supporting tomorrow’s children. As a Church of England school, we value and celebrate the diverse heritages of everybody at Millbrook Park. Alongside this, we value and celebrate being part of Britain. In general terms, this means that we celebrate traditions, such as customs in the year for example, the Harvest festival during the autumn term, and what could be more British than a trip to a pantomime around Christmas time! We also value and celebrate national events. Of course, as a Church school, we take a full and active part in the Christian calendar of celebrations across the year. We also acknowledge the key religious festivals of other faiths represented in Britain today. At Millbrook Park, British values and Christian values are the foundation blocks upon which all that we do is built. At Millbrook Park, we seek to improve learning through opportunities, challenges, and enjoyment. We believe strongly that each hour of each day is an opportunity for a child to learn something new or master a skill. Learning is a process with a start point and from that any number of endpoints, depending on what a child is learning and what stage of learning they are at. Where learning is at its strongest a child is either developing or mastering new knowledge. Our drive, as a school, is to identify, support, and challenge children at all stages of their learning to maximize their potentials. Children learn in a range of different ways. Some learn by listening, some by seeing, and some by doing (visual, audio, and kinaesthetic learning). Most children are a blend and that blend will differ depending on the subject they are learning and who is leading the learning. As a result, our teaching is also a blend. Within that blend, we seek to teach children skills to drive their learning forward and knowledge to help develop their learning. Ultimately we are working towards a child developing his/her understanding of their learning, whether it is the growing understanding of their place within the world or ability to use increasingly more sophisticated skills. Learning is supported through a range of resources including, where appropriate, IT in the form of tablets and computers. Further to this, we aim to take advantage of the great resource that is London itself through educational visits. School visits can bring learning to life in a way that is not possible in the classroom and is always a fun and exciting thing to do. We have a range of strategies across the school to meet the demands of the New National Curriculum and our eager learners. Rather than adopting a fragmented approach to learning, where individual subjects are taught separately, we have adopted an approach that seeks to bridge one subject with another allowing the children to become immersed within their learning. We believe that this is how our children learn best at Millbrook Park and have the best opportunity to translate one skill from one subject to another resulting in the potential for higher success understanding. As a result, our key learning strategies have been developed to support one another to maximize the potential of crossing the whole curriculum. View full school
