- It gives me great pleasure to introduce you to Ysgol Nannerch with our new website. Our school motto is ‘Learning Together, Reaching Higher’. We welcome children, their parents, and their families into our friendly, happy, and hard-working environment, where respect for others and positive attitudes towards work and behavior are encouraged and nurtured. Our school values are based on those of honesty, trust, and respect for one another. As a school community, we strongly believe that every child can achieve and will strive to do their best within an environment which promotes every aspect of their well-being. Originally built in 1895 to serve the local community today Ysgol Nannerch is a Voluntary Aided Primary School which recognizes the importance of working in partnership with children, parents, and the community. The school, located on one site within the heart of the thriving village community of Nannerch, in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, provides an education for children between the ages of 3 to 11 years. At present, there are 70 pupils including Nursery on the school role. The current admissions number is 15. The school’s capacity is recorded as 111. The School has created strong links with the village playgroup and the two settings provide a shared Lunch Club twice a week. The school site of Ysgol Nannerch benefits from extensive outdoor learning and play environments - including a wildlife and Forest School setting, which now also has an outdoor ‘Eco-Classroom’ with its solar panels & small wind turbine. Following small additions to the original Victorian building, a hall extension was completed in 1998 which also added a kitchen and additional space above on the first floor. The school has 1 part-time teacher, 1 full-time teacher, 1 full-time Deputy Head plus a Headteacher with 0.5 teaching commitment. The Additional needs Co-ordinator (ALNCo) works closely with all teachers and teaching assistants to create an inclusive learning environment. Ysgol Nannerch VC liaises with specialists to support individual learning and physical needs. Among these specialists are the following: therapists, such as physiotherapists and speech and language therapists, school and community nurses and doctors, educational psychologists, Inclusion Welfare Officers, and the staff of CAMHS. The School provides Breakfast and After School provision and runs a Holiday Club. The Classroom Assistants and the rest of the staff make a valuable contribution to the School and work in a variety of different roles within the school. View full school
