- Juniors from all over the world, training in Saddlebrook's golf and tennis camps, wanted to extend their training and maintain their academic studies, so Saddlebrook Preparatory School was created. Today, over 100 students from 20 different countries form a multicultural learning environment at our Tampa preparatory school. As they study, train in the intensive sports program, and enjoy many recreational activities together, students make friends from all over the world. Students, in Saddlebrook Prep's fully accredited college-preparatory school, for grades 3 through 12 and post-graduates, benefit from a highly educated, dedicated teaching staff and a small student-to-teacher ratio of 10-to-1. A Prep student may live in our boarding program or with a parent or legal guardian in various housing options within the Saddlebrook community. At Saddlebrook's secure, gated resort, the amenities are all within easy walking distance. Juniors safely stroll, bike, or are shuttled between accommodations, classes, sports and fitness training, and meals while supervised by Resident Assistants, teachers, and coaches. Golfers train at the Academy training facility and golf on the resort's own two Palmer-designed courses. Student-golfers compete in local, regional, and national tournaments, traveling individually or on a team, depending on the event and player. Tennis players train on Saddlebrook's 45 tennis courts in all Grand Slam surfaces, where they work with their coaches every afternoon. Just as golfers do, student-athletes on the tennis program participate in local, regional, and national tournaments, traveling as part of the Saddlebrook Prep team or individually, depending on the tournament and player. Academy graduates attend prestigious universities, typically with scholarships in their sport, or they may even become professionals. Saddlebrook Resort is located 30 minutes north of Tampa International Airport. We have great Florida training weather year-round. The Prep School provides student housing, dining, training, and recreational facilities within close, easy access in our secure, gated resort, with complete supervision. We provide world-class golf and tennis instruction. Two eighteen-hole Arnold Palmer signature golf courses are on-site. Forty-five tennis courts, including all four Grand Slam surfaces, are on site. Students have access to our state-of-the-art Fitness Center and organized personal fitness training programs. A variety of fun activities are planned weekly, such as organized sporting events and games, Dive-In Movies, trips to movies, malls, attractions, recreation centers, and much more. Golfers play at least two full rounds of golf weekly. Students play on the driving range and private golf training facilities. We work with each player's natural tendencies, not teaching one swing or method. Golf students participate in three major junior-ranked tours. Tennis students participate in USTA-sanctioned tournaments. Students meet individually and in groups with Sports Psychologists regularly. Saddlebrook Prep has the Florida Council of Independent Schools' dual accreditation and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Students benefit from the low student–to–teacher ratio of 10––1. SAT preparation classes are offered college placement counseling, and application guidance is provided. ESOL classes are available for students working on learning and perfecting the English language. A wireless internet system reaches the school, dorms, and throughout the resort campus. A media technology library and lab is available to students. Dedicated teachers, tutors, and summer school are available to meet students' needs. Saddlebrook Preparatory School offers students a challenging environment that encourages creativity, curiosity, and healthy competitiveness in a safe, supportive community. Our academic program, encompassing elementary through high school, offers small classes and innovative instruction in a college preparatory curriculum. Our school works in unison with rigorous tennis and golf programs to develop responsible citizens and promote a commitment to lifelong learning. Our student body assures a learning environment enriched by multicultural experiences that encourages students to exchange ideas and understand different ways of life. View full school
