About Me

  1. The main objective of the "George Enescu" the National University of Arts is the organization and the shaping of education in the national priority domain Art, which includes the following options for graduation: "Music" (with the specializations Performance, Music Education, Composition, Musicology, Conducting, Religious music), Visual arts (with the specializations: Painting, Sculpture, Graphics, Photography-Video, Fashion, Textile arts, Mural art, Art education – art teacher, Conservation-Restoration, Design) and Drama (with the specializations: Acting, the Art of puppetry, Theatrology). To the same extent, the University stands as a beacon of culture, militating for the protection, preservation, and promotion of Romanian artistic creation to foster and develop a taste for beauty and authentic creations. The «George Enescu» National University of Arts from Iaşi works as a State institution according to the Romanian Constitution, the Education Laws, the By-Laws of the teaching personnel, and the Human Rights Declaration. The University is a higher education institution that has as a mission: To shape the personality of future artists and to contribute to the development of Romanian and universal culture. To train specialists in the domain of Art (music, visual arts, Drama) for the specialized education system." The endeavor to excel in three different art domains causes the University of Arts "George Enescu" of Iaşi to have a particular art education configuration. It meets the requirements of quality and diversity of the education offered, whose parameters are determined at the national and international level, with a permanent connection to the domain's international reality. We are going through a time of exploration, resettling, and definition. It is not only the imperatives of the Bologna Process – the creation before 2010 of a European Higher Education Space – that spurs us on and the natural connection to the immediate reality. The Iaşi school of artistic higher education, which was a pioneer amongst the similar institutions in the country, has a special status that, at the same time, honors it and implies responsibility: it reunites under the same flag music, fine arts, and Drama. These domains, each with a well-defined profile, often have not only meeting points, but even points where they blend music takes on theatre's liveliness, the fine arts borrow from the harmony of music, Drama borrows from the eurhythmics of color. And it is only natural for things to be this way in an institution that is the heir, keeper, and continuator of a tradition legitimizing an entire national spirituality. Here in Iaşi, influential people – from Eduard Caudella and George Enescu to Ion Baciu, from Nicolae Tonitza and Ion Irimescu to Ion Neagoe, from Gheorghe Asachi, Matei Millo, Vasile Alecsandri to Mihai Codreanu and Agatha Bârsescu, the elite of the Romanian artistic scene – have worked, with their gift and devotion, for the enrichment of our treasure of beauty, of soul nobility. The present time of the Iaşi school of artistic higher education is looking towards the future. And the future means mutual knowledge and collaboration. We are convinced that our national values deserve to be known and appreciated on the international art scene, the same way as the world-scale artistic movement is the background and the foundation for harmonizing our explorations with those of the rest of the world. The University of Arts "George Enescu" has established research centers with international collaboration, fostering important relations with specialists from other countries. Our graduates work on their Ph.D. papers in Canada, while Ph.D. candidates from Germany, Greece, Israel do their work under the guidance of the specialists at the Iaşi Arts University. To be part of this future, our students get prepared to enter their professional life as double specialists: as professional artists and as educators and trainers for the generations that will come after them. Both specializations are crucial for the future of the world of sounds, colors, image expression. Between the practice in front of the easel, in the concert hall, or the theatre and the activity at the teacher's desk, subtle and permanent bridges are cast. We are always committed to work for the durability of these bridges and keeping them fully connected to the imperatives of the time. A glorious tradition requests, and justifiably so, verticality and continued dignity for the act of creation. View full university
  2. George Tomlinson Primary is a three-form entry community school set in the heart of Leytonstone, a stone’s throw away from the tube and with easy access into the heart of London on the central line. Our recently extended school site is modern, clean, and bright with an outstanding EYFS facility including large outdoor space and resources. At George Tomlinson, we believe that all children deserve outstanding quality first teaching that is supported by excellent curricular opportunities and extended services that nurture and engage children. We want to inspire brilliance in a stable and safe environment through creative practice. We want our pupils to feel that when it comes to aspirations the sky is the limit and to prepare them fully for life at secondary school and beyond. We believe in achieving Excellence through Enjoyment. This is an extremely exciting time for the school in a period of rapid improvement with a new substantive Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, supported by an experienced Governing Body and staff who are passionate about the development of the school. We are developing an engaging and challenging curriculum that will drive the progress of every single child through reading, Write, Inc Phonics for teaching reading, an outstanding Guided Reading program called Destination Reader, Singapore inspired Maths program called Inspire Maths and Philosophy 4 Children. We highly prize the creative arts, with instrumental music tuition of guitar, recorder, and trumpet taught in KS2 as well as a music teacher working across the school. We value modern foreign languages with French taught from Reception to Year 6. We are high achievers when it comes to Sport and our children are given many opportunities to succeed in a range of sports and dance delivered by two sports coaches who passionately believe in all children accessing and enjoying an active day at George Tomlinson. Every class from Year 1 to 6 also completes the Daily Mile. We are passionate about becoming a Healthy School and one where pupil's voice is prominent so that children have a say in their education. Pupil-led assemblies, school councils, and community workgroups will all enable the empowerment of our pupils and higher engagement in their learning. We believe in the importance of children’s well-being and happiness as much as their academic successes and we work on our Growth mindset across the school as well as delivering Mindfulness lessons. We are lucky enough to have our science garden on-site with a mini beast motel, a pond, and beds for growing our vegetables! We have sole use of a field a three-minute walk from our school site and our resident animal's guinea pigs and rabbits are kept in our classrooms. To drive forward rapid improvements at George Tomlinson, we need to have a shared vision of where we are going.
  3. We are at an exciting time in the development of the school for several reasons. The current Y7-9 students are following the Middle School Curriculum (MSC). Students are enjoying the opportunities this brings including improving links across subject areas, skills being taught explicitly in the classroom, and an alive, online reporting system that is custom made for our needs. In August 2017, we will be introducing the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for Year 7 which will roll out over three years. This framework will further develop the student learning experience. In many ways, this will build on the work we are currently doing with the MSC. All ESF schools will be on the same journey so we are working together with MYP schools to share best practices. Performance Coaching at KGV continues to develop and is changing the way we have conversations across the school and the way we can support students through tutoring. We are in a fortunate position in that we are situated in a community where the student population is not transient so we have time to build relationships and we are proud to be part of the KGV community. If you ever ask a teacher why they love working at KGV they will undoubtedly mention the students and the way they engage positively in everything they do. We create a ‘school for one. A place where each person engages in remarkable learning to achieve at high levels and be the best they can be. As an agile school, we collaborate and innovate to make a difference in the communities we serve and lead. Our students are empowered to be their own remarkable by: Challenging themselves and others to achieve at high levels and be the best learners they can be Embracing and enacting our school values of honesty, courage, and resilience Dreaming big and setting ambitious goals and targets Being excited, innovative, and grasping opportunities Understanding their wellbeing and enacting behaviors to stay healthy Connecting positively with others and embracing diversity in our global context Our staff is empowered to be their own remarkable by: Placing our students first in all that they do Collaborating with others to promote their learning and our collective capabilities Embracing, enacting, and explicitly modeling our values of honesty, courage, and resilience Communicating a sense of optimism, positivity and displaying a ‘growth mindset’ Demonstrating a mindset of high expectations and continuously evaluating the impact their teaching is having on student learning Promoting and enacting wellbeing as a foundation of our learning community Our school is remarkable by: Creating a ‘school for one’ that personalizes the learning experience for all and enables every person to be a remarkable learner Being a hub for community learning where our parents, alumni, and community connect in authentic, sustainable, and evolving ways Honoring our rich history and traditions whilst embracing innovation Prioritizing the connection between wellbeing and learning through our values and actions Being an agile school and empowering collaboration at all levels to build our ‘engine rooms’ for professional learning, teacher evaluation of their impact on student learning, and driving school improvement within our ESF family Truly believing, that every person can be their own remarkable.
  4. Founded in 1893, George School is a Quaker, coed boarding and day school for students in grades 9 through 12. It is wooded and sunny, quiet and energetic, serious and playful. It is a comfortable, stimulating place to be yourself, discover new worlds, and help others. You can study calculus and social justice. Chinese and woodworking. Chemistry and golf. In short, George School is a great place to get ready for college. But that is just a benefit of getting ready for life. At George School, we believe the world can be better, and society can be different. We think that the rat race is not the only means and majority rule (with minority suffering) is not the only method. It means that when you come here, you will ponder life, truth, and knowledge itself. You will read Wuthering Heights and reflect on how a mid-nineteenth-century novel can make a stylish statement. You will compete in sports like lacrosse or softball. You will write your own Canterbury tale. You will use pantomime to learn ceramics, iMovie to learn physics, and The New York Times to learn economics. (You may also blast music, build bonfires, and even learn to juggle.) It happens through our incredible courses—like AP Calculus or Spanish Seminar or any of the courses in our ultra-challenging International Baccalaureate Program. And it happens because the teachers and staff are proactive and plugged in. They are ready to offer advice, cookies, or whatever the moment calls for. So when you leave this campus, you may head off to Harvard or Haverford or Hamburg, Germany, go home to Mauritania or return to the simplicity of a Quaker farm. But you will be different from when you came. George School is academically rigorous. Besides offering a wide variety of Advanced Placement and other interesting, challenging classes, we are one of only a few US boarding schools offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. George School promotes long-term health and physical fitness by requiring students to participate in competitive sports and physical education classes. Sports and physical education can help students forge lifelong friendships. They teach many life lessons that shape students during their George School experience and for years to come. In most cases, a student must take at least one term of PE each year. George School offers various visual and performing arts classes, including ceramics, dance, music, painting and drawing, photography, design and production, theater, film production, and woodworking and design. Classes are offered through different levels and include Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate art classes. Accomplishing our education goal is not ordinary or straightforward (at least not how we do it). For us, it is not enough for students to acquire excellent knowledge about great things and be truly prepared for college. It is not enough for them to make strides in social development, creative talent, and athletic ability. Yes, we push our students to do all these things. But we also press them to look deep inside, to find and clarify their authentic selves, to blossom intellectually, personally, and spiritually. Students learn about the tension between individual and community, that fairness and justice are inherently tied to each other. They learn to express themselves without trampling others, asking for what they need rather than demanding what they want. Then, in what seems a fitting fulfillment of our mission, George School students joyously go out into the world comfortable in their self-awareness and confident that they can make the world a better, kinder place. Transformative relationships between teachers and students are the heart of the George School educational experience. Based upon a powerful combination of example, mutual respect, and personal commitment, these relationships support an intentionally balanced program between rigor and reflection, passion, and compassion. They provide the environment within which George School teachers challenge their students to hold themselves to high academic standards, to practice humility, and to develop lifelong habits of scholarship and intellectual curiosity. The alignment of belief and action that arises when an individual decides what is essential and finds a way to be right to it is summed up in George Fox’s phrase “let your life speak.” Through habits of reflection that are honed in meeting for worship, through our commitment to honor the Light of God in everyone, and by developing an understanding of the Quaker (Friends) values of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, service, and stewardship, our graduates are provided with a firm foundation upon which to build lives of personal integrity. George School is committed to being a community where people with vastly different backgrounds, identities, and perspectives are united both in their respect for the unique gifts that each brings and in pursuit of a common good. We place a high value on diversity and on the ways that our convictions, both individually and collectively, are broadened, strengthened, and enlightened when we appreciate and respect a range of perspectives. This belief is reflected in the school’s motto, “Mind the Light.” At George School, we are grounded by a sense of responsibility to each other and the earth we inhabit. This leads us to practice good stewardship in all of our daily actions and decisions. A central Friends value, stewardship recognizes that physical, financial, natural, cultural, intellectual, and spiritual resources are to be grown and sustained for the good of all and for generations to come.
  5. George Stevens Academy is a town academy on the coast of Maine. Founded in 1852, we are the high school for nearly all students from the seven towns in our rural community. We also enroll private-pay day and boarding students from around the world. Our students' interests, talents, and aspirations reflect the diversity of the communities from which they come. GSA provides a comprehensive and challenging education for all students, for those who will build futures in surrounding communities and for those who will make lives elsewhere in the world. Our many academic and experiential programs foster a love of knowledge, inspire creativity, instill self-confidence, encourage good character, and prepare each graduate for a purposeful life in a changing world. George Stevens Academy is dedicated to providing a safe, equitable environment for all community members, free from discrimination and all forms of bullying and harassment. We strive to create programs and services that result in an environment that welcomes and celebrates every member of our community, provides opportunities for all to contribute, and provides for all civil rights. George Stevens Academy is an independent, comprehensive town academy in Blue Hill, a small coastal town on a scenic rural peninsula. Founded as Blue Hill Academy in 1803, it was the first secondary school to open its doors east of the Penobscot River in Down East Maine. The school serves as the 9-12 high school for more than 300 students mainly drawn from area towns but including up to 40 international and U.S. boarding students. The academy offers a wide variety of academic classes to meet our student body's diverse needs, aptitudes, and interests. Though college preparatory courses make up the vast majority of the approximately 150 offered, fundamental courses also are available, as are about three dozen honors and Advanced Placement courses. GSA provides numerous opportunities for students to explore their interests outside the traditional classroom, including the Eastern Maine Skippers Program, Outdoor Leadership, Independent Study and Internship, Culinary Arts, Alternative Course Contracts, Online Courses, Cooperative Education, and more. Extracurricular offerings include numerous clubs and activities, including the Drama Club and GSA Jazz Band, which has won state championships 19 times in the last 30 years. We have 29 teams in 12 sports. Our boys' and girls' athletics teams have won more than four dozen regional championships and 16 state championships in the school's history, with more than 70 percent of those won since 2000.
  6. George Brown College opened its doors in 1968, welcoming just over 2,000 students. In addition to programs in construction, early childhood education, dental services, and the culinary arts – subjects we continue to teach – we once offered programs that might not be quite as relevant today, like signwriting or watchmaking. Believe it or not, we even prepared students for careers at sea through a marine engineering program. The Facilities Management Department provides a comprehensive range of services such as space planning, design, construction, renovations, engineering, maintenance, energy management, housekeeping, furnishings, ground maintenance, and transportation. It is responsible for operating and maintaining buildings at all College Campuses: St. James Campus, Casa Loma Campus, Ryerson Campus, and Waterfront Campus. Vision to continuously exceed customer expectations through excellence in asset management, leadership, and professionalism, adding the highest value to the community within a rapidly changing environment. Facilities Management Department is committed to adding the highest value to the community and educational experience through the strategic management of the assets and resources in support of the College's strategic direction. 7. George Mitchell School is a popular and successful All-through school educating children across three phases: Early Years, Primary and Secondary. We have almost 1000 children from nursery age to Year 11. Being an all-through school gives us great opportunities to tailor our curriculum and provision to the needs of every child and we are continuously looking at ways to stretch and challenge our students. Our school serves a richly diverse area, with many ethnic groups and languages represented. We are very much a community school at the heart of a local neighborhood, and we provide a haven in which our children feel safe, valued, and happy. Every child at George Mitchell is special. We do our utmost to ensure that each student is given every opportunity to learn and succeed and that every student leaves George Mitchell School equipped with the skills and attributes necessary to meet the challenges of the world today. Students leave George Mitchell having been enriched by our diversity and as responsible adult citizens, ready to meet the demands of modern British life. We are committed to the task of continuing to raise standards. The quality of teaching in our school is continuously improving and our GCSE exam results and end of KS2 results are getting better and better. Performance league tables for GCSE results put us year on year in fifth place in our group of 55 similar schools. Our students make exceptional progress no matter what their starting points may be and this is evidenced by our Progress 8 score of 0.64 which puts us significantly above the National Average. In 2018 we aim to do even better. We expect that our students embrace the school motto ‘more is in me’ and work to take full advantage of every opportunity offered to them here in school. Students are offered a broad curriculum and are encouraged to study the subjects that they are interested in. Student leadership at George Mitchell is strong and the Student Governing Body takes an active role in developing and further improving the experiences of children at the School. George Mitchell is a school with great strengths. Students are eager to learn and take pride in their school. They are perfect ambassadors for us. Our motto ‘More is in Me’ applies to everyone in our school community. We expect and encourage students, staff, and families to push beyond themselves to improve their skills so that our students are given the best learning opportunities in school and at home. At George Mitchell School we expect our students to develop: A thirst for learning and a desire to achieve their best at all times Respect for themselves and others The ability to make safe and informed choices about what they do We aim to provide an aspirational and excellent academic environment that supports students to make sustained progress from Nursery to Year 11. In our school, learning comes first. Through their time at George Mitchell School, we want our children to develop the confidence to take on new challenges and resilience to overcome difficulties. We want them to understand how to take up an effective role in Modern Britain and develop an awareness of wider world issues. We want our students to leave George Mitchell School as secure and healthy individuals who are self-reliant, assured, and motivated to succeed in life. We will ensure they are equipped with the skills necessary to explore the many opportunities available to them in the world today.
  8. At George Carey Church of England Primary School, children are at the heart of everything that we do. We pride ourselves in our child-centered approaches and the pupil's voice is valued. We are located within the Rivergate Community Centre at the heart of the Barking Riverside development an area that continues to grow. As such we are at the center of this new, rich and diverse community. We deliver much of the curriculum through a cross-curricular topic-based approach using Cornerstones. Specific details of what that means for each year group can be found on the Cornerstones part of the website. Mathematics is generally taught separately and independently from the topics of the Cornerstones. As a Church of England Primary School, much of our teaching is explicitly Christian and we promote Christian values throughout all that we do. We follow the Diocese of Chelmsford R.E. curriculum. Children learn about other world religions as well as Christianity, promoting tolerance and understanding between people of all faiths and also those with no strong religious beliefs. We believe that the curriculum should be rich and stimulating and that children should be excited and engaged in their learning. Learning does not necessarily have to take place within classrooms and we aim to exploit the learning opportunities offered by our grounds and in the local environment. The most important underlying principle of a curriculum is to help children learn. We believe that a successful curriculum is brought to life by high-quality teaching, inspirational learning activities, and opportunities to listen and plan for the developing interests and motivations of children. Cornerstones Curriculum is delivered through a range of inspirational yet rigorous learning projects. These are based on the National Curriculum but bring learning together in new and exciting ways. Each project combines different strands of learning so that children learn more holistically and start to challenge themselves and learn problem-solving skills as they create truly fantastic learning opportunities. Science should be fun and practical with hands-on activities, using scientific vocabulary and theory as to how, why, where, and when. We want the children to be motivated to ask questions of a scientific nature and to have the opportunity to experience science firsthand, in line with the National Curriculum. Science is integrated into our Cornerstones Curriculum. This enables children to meet science in the context of a wider topic. For more information on the specific content of our science curriculum please see the Wider Curriculum page or ask a teacher. The agreement sets out the school’s commitment to your child and the action parents should take to support us. We take seriously our responsibility to offer your child a good education and so the agreement also outlines the school’s roles and responsibilities and contains the key principles, rules, and expectations by which the school operates. The SLT and Governors at George Carey Church of England Primary School have planned to use the Sports Premium this year to enrich the P.E. curriculum for a large number of children using the Sports Premium. The funding represents £10.00 per child plus £16,000. This complements additional money from the overall school budget, which is used to provide a wealth of sports and physical activities for all children. We believe that the funding should be used to involve and interest children in a variety of physical activities and the aim is for children to take up sports and games for the long term, which in turn will give them good attitudes to exercise and help to make them more active, stronger, leading to better health and fitness. The development of the Rivergate community was first conceived approximately 20 years ago as part of a plan to develop the Thames Gateway to the East of London along the North bank of the Thames. This has been one of the biggest development projects in Europe. Opened in September 2011, the school, along with the Rivergate Centre, was the first community building completed within the new development. The school is named after George Carey, a former Archbishop of Canterbury, who was born and raised in Dagenham. Lord and Lady Carey formally opened the school on 27th March 2012. George Carey School was set up as a Voluntary Aided School within the Diocese of Chelmsford under the umbrella of the Church of England. The school was designed and conceived as a community facility that could work in partnership with the Rivergate Centre. The school was first open to pupils on 12th September 2011 with 250 pupils on roll and a staff of 35. Since then we have grown to over 600 pupils with a staff of 90, and we are still growing. We had an Ofsted inspection in October 2012 after just 13 months of being open. It was a major achievement to achieve an overall grade of ‘good’ after such a short period. We are now looking to the future and have set a strong ambition towards ‘outstanding’ provision shortly.
  9. Welcome to St George the Martyr Church of England Primary School. We provide a caring, stable and intellectually, and creatively stimulating environment where all children can develop to their full and individual potential. The staff are passionate about ensuring your child’s time at school is happy, productive, and successful so that they can move confidently onto the next stage of their education and ultimately make a positive contribution to society as adults. We are incredibly proud of our approach to raising achievement in all aspects of the curriculum, through developing self-confidence, motivation, self-reliance, creativity, and co-operation in all we do. St George the Martyr CE Primary School is committed to equality of opportunity and serves the local community by welcoming children from all backgrounds and faiths. Whilst our ethos is positively Christian, we value and respect the diversity of our community and aim to set all children on life’s path through compassion, thoughtfulness, and understanding of one another, and respect for one another’s differences. Our visions and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning and provide an environment that prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens. St George the Martyr is a voluntary aided school with deep Christian roots. The origin of the school lies with the church of St George the Martyr, Queen’s Square. This was built as a proprietary chapel in 1705 – 1706 by a group including Sir Streynsham Master and Robert Nelson. In 1710, the Charity School of St George the Martyr came into being on two floors of the Church’s Vestry House in Cosmo Place. The school was moved to its present site in 1976 and underwent a major refurbishment in 2006. As a Church school, we enjoy close links with St George’s Church, and Christian values of Determination, Friendship, Inspiration, Community, Excellence, and Respect underpin all that we do in the school. A member of the clergy takes assembly once a week and the children take part in services at St George’s Church at Christian festivals throughout the year. St George the Martyr CE Primary School aims to provide a caring, stable, stimulating environment where all children can develop to their full and individual potential. Staff is committed to ensuring that the children’s time at school is happy, productive, and successful. We aim to raise achievement in all aspects of the curriculum developing self-confidence, motivation, self-reliance, and cooperation. This can be summed up by our school motto: ‘Go Shine in the World with Compassion, Integrity & Honesty. Bless this school. May we all live happily together and may our school be full of joy. May each one of us learn and achieve together. May love and respect dwell here among us every day. Love of learning, Love of one another, Love of life itself and love of God. Let us remember that many hands build a house so every student can make St. George the Martyr CE Primary School a better place. We aim to foster a positive attitude towards homework and help set good habits for Secondary School. We ensure that homework is of interest to the children and matched to their ability. Our school policy on homework is based on the notion that the learning process does not begin and end at school. We believe that children are learning constantly from a variety of adults and experiences. We ask that parents support their child with any homework given. Homework is set throughout the school by DfE guidelines. Homework routines begin in Reception with the expectation that children read at home every night. From Year 1 onwards, children are also given weekly maths and literacy activities. Homework is handed out on a Friday and is expected to be returned to school by Wednesday each week. We have a nursery of 18 full-time places for children aged 3 – 4. Children start school in the year that they turn 5 in our Reception class until age 11 in Year 6. Our classes have a maximum size of 30 children.

  11. On behalf of our College community, I warmly welcome you here today. We embrace everyone in our College, and I am very proud of the multi-cultural community that makes St George such an excellent school for children from Playgroup to Year 12. As an educator with more than 30 years' experience in both Government and Independent schools, it is a privilege to work with our families, to design learning opportunities that focus on developing critical capabilities in our students, allowing them to "Dream Big" and to work hard to achieve their goals. A St. George College education will offer your child: An education where each child is encouraged to be the best they can be. Regular feedback to students and their parents, offering strategies for continuous improvement. Quality teachers who undertake regular professional development Inspirational, differentiated teaching, and learning experiences that inspire excellence. Access to enrichment programs, early intervention initiatives, and learning support programs that firm foundations in literacy and numeracy, develop critical thinking skills, and foster a love for lifelong learning. Modern Greek language classes. Chinese Mandarin classes. Co-curricular opportunities out of hours in sport and a range of other activities that develop student capabilities. Regular assemblies where we celebrate the successes of our children and share numerous community events. Established in 1983, St George College was the first Orthodox College in South Australia. In 1984, there were 31 students across Years 1 to 3 in attendance at the College – a small, humble beginning built on the Christian virtues modeled by Saint George. Our College was established to: Provide excellence in education through high-quality teaching and learning programs Provide an additional and credible educational choice for parents Ensure the effective teaching and learning of the Orthodox Faith and that of the Modern Greek language Our Emblem affirms the centrality and importance of the Orthodox Faith throughout daily life. It makes explicit our spiritual and administrative links to our parent community of St George Thebarton and Western Suburbs Inc. The intersection of the olive branch and the sprig of wattle symbolizes the Australian and Greek cultures' meeting and interaction in the real sense of multiculturalism and a critical precondition to effective and constructive local and global citizenship. The shield of St George with the Holy Cross at its center affirms our faith and makes explicit our spiritual and administrative links to the greater community. Today, over 500 students from Playgroup to Year 12 thrive in an environment that provides a high-quality education within state-of-the-art facilities. Our substantial growth is a testament to our commitment to our Christian origins, the wider community, and our dedication to children's holistic education. Although the Christian faith based College, we are proud of our culturally and linguistically diverse student population and give all enrolment applications equal consideration (irrespective of nationality, religious background, and gender). Increasing our community's social, cultural, and linguistic diversity remains an important goal here at the College. It will continue to contribute to our proud story in years to come. Our strong international reputation has been developed by delivering quality education in a safe community-based environment.
  12. St George Christian School (SGCS) is a K-12 co-educational School with a reputation for healthy academic outcomes, intentional pastoral care, and a disciplined and warm environment. Our devoted staff strives to make a difference in the life of their students. SGCS is a registered and accredited school with the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA). The School is based across two campuses in the St George region of Sydney. Our size (dual-stream from K-6 and triple stream from 7-12) positions us well to know each student and enables the provision of a breadth of subject choices and co-curricular activities. Reflecting critical stages in the life of a child, our school structure includes Infants (K-2), Junior School (3-5), Middle School (6-8), and Senior School (9-12) as distinct communities of learning, relationship, and care. Each stage features an engaging and intellectually stimulating curriculum designed to suit each student's interests, abilities, and specific learning needs. These stages are linked by transition programs designed to maintain and promote a secure, stable learning environment. SGCS provides specialist music, drama, sport (K-12), integrated use and training in technology, focused leadership development, and extra-curricular activities in science, technology, and the creative and performing arts. SGCS aims to equip your child for life by combining educational excellence with a whole-person approach to intellectual, social, physical, emotional, and spiritual development. Our School has a strong tradition of service to others. It seeks to foster our students a desire to look beyond themselves, engage in local and global issues, and participate in the wider community. As a distinctively Christian School, we believe that a full and meaningful life comes through faith in Jesus Christ and following His teachings. Jesus said, 'I have come that you might have life, and have it to the full' (John 10:10). Considerate, respectful, and encouraging relationships are central to our values and practice. We value each child as a unique creation and actively strive to foster individual potential, self-discipline, independence, maturity, and godliness, with a firm focus on preparing children for life beyond their schooling years. Our vision is that each person in the school community will: Know Christ, growing in relationship with God and with one another. Gain wisdom, learning how to live in the world. Develop their spiritual, academic, social, and physical gifts. Establish a lifestyle that honors God and serves others. Our values as a Christian School are we: Acknowledge the absolute authority of God as our Creator Father. Trust Jesus Christ as our Saviour and serve Him as our Lord. Depend on God's indwelling Spirit as our enabler. Hold on to God's Word as our standard. Value all people as created in God's image Our mission is to develop each person's character and gifts for serving God and His people by promoting: Joy in learning. Excellence in teaching. Personal Christian faith and growth towards maturity. Children flourish in an environment that affirms that life is not random and that they are not random. It is based on the good news that life has meaning and purpose. All learning about self, others, the world, and how it works and about God is positive and makes sense of our world, providing our children with a bright future and tangible hope. Christian Education encourages academic rigor in a warm, disciplined, meaningful, and life-giving context. It is not merely learning for its own sake, but learning that leads to wisdom and life. Such learning is crucial at each stage of a child's schooling and provides a stable platform and an empowering launching pad for life.
  13. During the process of understanding and preparing for post-16 study, discovering the options available to you is paramount. We are a specialist sixth form college for students who want to progress towards Higher Education and high-skill employment. We have created a unique learning community, which enables our students to develop personal attributes and abilities alongside their academic or vocational qualifications. Propelling your academic achievements is vital, but we believe in strengthening more than what you can achieve in a classroom. We support students by focusing on, communication skills, leadership ability, and resilience in a complex world. Our 10 am lesson start, 6 unique Pathways, and various schemes aim to maximize not only your potential to succeed with us, but also to maximize the skills you’ll need to thrive, past the gates of Monoux. Our College is a place where everyone who studies with us feels safe and secure. A place where the facilities help all of our students get the very best education possible. A place where we expect the very best from our staff and our students were aiming high is encouraged whether the aim is to go on to university or to join the world of work. For many of our students, further education at our College builds on a successful school career. For others, Sir George Monoux College offers a fresh start, a second chance, to succeed. We have a particular commitment to 'second chance' education because, after a pretty undistinguished school career, We obtained all of my qualifications through adult and further education. As We've said already, We think we're a really good College. However, we don't just want to be good we want to be outstanding. Not just outstanding in East London but outstanding in the UK. We know it will take a great deal of effort from all of us - our staff and students and those of us on the Corporation - to become outstanding. But we believe that it's possible. It's aiming high. It's a real privilege. The Corporation of Governors sets the strategic direction of the College and makes sure that we deliver what we promise. We work closely with our staff and particularly our Principal, David Vasse, and his senior team because how the College is led is crucial to how outstanding we can become. But we also want to make sure that everyone who works with us feels that their voice is heard and that they have opportunities to contribute ideas to improve what we do. View full school

  24. View full school
