About Me

  1. Pentland Field School is an all-through school for pupils aged 4-19 with a Statement of Special Educational Needs or a newly-introduced Education, Health and Care Plan. Pupils are stretched and challenged with a curriculum that enables and actively encourages them to be independent and to make a real contribution to their community. Pentland Field School is proud to be part of the Eden Academy, a family of schools that work together under one Academy Trust, with access to a wide range of expertise and services. We are lucky enough to have an impressive building that promotes well-being and is conducive to learning. Another feature of the school is the deployment of specific support staff - Speech and Language Therapy Teaching Assistants - who ensure that pupil progress is optimized in their communication skills. We aim to ensure that all of our pupils develop a real love for learning. Pentland Field is a unique school whose provision, both in the classroom and through therapy, is closely matched to the needs of our different types of learners, who all have the potential to enhance their existing levels of attainment, social learning, and language skills. At Pentland Field we educate and support our pupils to become independent learners so that they can: Create and develop relationships Develop independent living skills with support Build a range of interests that continually grow with them Contribute positively to the community either in paid or voluntary work Communicate their thoughts and needs independently to familiar and unfamiliar people The curriculum has been designed for all the learners at Pentland Field School to ensure a fluid journey through Early Years, Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4. It allows all pupils to be inspired to explore their learning potential with increased engagement through a creative and thematic curriculum. The curriculum supports all pupils in all age ranges and with all abilities and needs to become independent and successful learners. The staff work collaboratively to support and inspire the pupils, and are passionate about creating opportunities that encourage the children to learn and grow and become prepared for life after school." Family Services supports families and promotes the well-being of our pupils by encouraging social activities and provides a network of assistance and advice. Our jointly-run service is an integrated element of the Eden Academy's approach to education and development and the service that we provide in each of our families of schools is specially designed to meet the particular needs of each school's pupils and their families. At Pentland Field School we provide: A varied program of activities from trips out, and swimming sessions to holiday & after-school clubs such as yoga, film, summer games, and cooking An opportunity for our pupils to extend their experiences outside of the classroom Links for our parents and carers to a network of groups that offer ideas, activities & resources to try at home Training in parenting issues and coffee mornings for parents and carers The children and young people are at the heart of everything we do so we aim to offer exciting activities outside of school hours that provide opportunities for the children and young people to experience new things and develop new skills with their friends.
  2. Field End Infant School is a learning environment where everyone who is associated with us is encouraged to work in partnership with parents, teachers, governors, assistants, children, and the community so that we can all constantly develop and improve. At Field End Infant School we pride ourselves in providing a nurturing environment where all our pupils can develop the valuable life skills needed to go into the world and to make a difference and achieve excellence. We believe the key to success is working in partnership with you to support this exciting part of your child’s life and we look forward to welcoming you into the Field End Community. We recognize that in placing your child in our care, you expect the very best from us too and we strive to ensure that your child flourishes whilst they are with us. We offer a wide range of learning opportunities through an exciting and engaging curriculum. We have a dedicated staff that works tirelessly to support your children to achieve their potential. Our ultimate goal is for pupils to become self-motivated, independent learners with a wide range of study skills that will be useful to them throughout their lives. Whilst engaged in this process we also want them to have fun: to enjoy their childhood. We establish a happy, secure, well-ordered, and stimulating environment where children and staff can work together in an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect and where children can learn to be tolerant, courteous, and considerate to others. We provide a broad balanced curriculum to help each child develop their full potential through a range of skills, knowledge, practical activities, and resources so that they can become successful citizens in an ever-changing world. We recognize the individuality of each child and to cater individual needs so that they can learn at a pace that suits them. We provide equal educational opportunities and experiences to all members of the school community regardless of disability, race, religion, or gender. We teach and foster the development of good working habits, an enquiring mind, and self-discipline and encourage the children to take a pride in their work, in their appearance, and the appearance of the school. For children to learn in an environment that teaches self-worth, tolerance, and respect for others and where the achievements of individuals are celebrated. We encourage children to believe in themselves and to take an active part in society. We foster a caring environment where children learn to respect the school’s property and that of others. We teach children to understand their emotional makeup and those of others. We promote common values that highlight diversity and equality, human rights, and responsibility. We deal with any allegations of bullying or harassment connected with prejudice, our exclusion, and behavior policies do not discriminate against any groups.
  3. Field End Junior School is a unique place. The School has an individual identity that combines traditional values with a modern vibrant vision. We are situated on Field End Road and within walking distance of Eastcote underground station and many bus routes. We have the most amazing outdoor and indoor facilities for children to learn and play. We provide a very stimulating academic curriculum, together with a strong tradition of music and many additional activities including, dance, drama, and sport. We are a community and a true partnership between school and the families of the children we teach. Our school life is rich in opportunities to learn as individuals and as part of a strong, supportive environment. We are fortunate to have strong links with Field End Infant School. We are committed to the development of each child, to offer them the very best start to their formal education. We aim to provide an education that is rich in opportunities and experiences and one which influences a lifelong love of learning. At Field End Junior School we are committed to equal opportunities. We believe that equality of opportunity is made possible by the development of an inclusive school community, within which all individuals are welcomed and valued for who they are, regardless of gender, race, color, religion, social class, culture, age, physical or intellectual ability. The school, being on one level, promotes easy access for children with disabilities. There are several disabled toilet facilities. There are entrance and exit points throughout the school suitable for wheelchair users. The school has an accessibility plan which is regularly reviewed. Throughout their time at our school, children have the opportunity to join lunchtime or after-school clubs offering many different activities which may vary from year to year. Parents and children are issued with a club newsletter at the beginning of every academic term which outlines details of all the clubs on offer, for example, football, netball, cricket, choir, tennis, dance, and gymnastics. We have an active Pupil Voice which is made up of one representative from each class. The council meets regularly with the Headteacher to discuss a range of issues and to share the ideas and opinions from children across the school. Children also serve as playground buddies and we have a small team of award-winning Junior Road Safety Officers. All children are members of one of the school’s five houses and Year 6 Pupils are nominated House Captain and monitors at the start of each school year. We also elect a Head Boy and Head Girl each year along with deputies. We have a range of rewards systems in place, including house points, merits, class of the week, and attendance awards. For a school to be a safe, ordered environment, discipline is essential. Clear limits are placed on the children for their safety and welfare through which they should become responsible for their behavior, adopt a caring attitude to others and care for the school as a whole. Staff base their control on fairness, friendliness, and firmness. Our main priority is to ensure that every child's time at Field End is a happy one. However, there may be times when parents have particular concerns, in which case they should seek an immediate appointment with either their child's class teacher or Year Group Leader. If they are still not happy, they should make an appointment with a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Any complaint will be confidentially handled, evaluated, investigated, and, hopefully, resolved. If parents are still unhappy they should approach the governing board.
  4. Prior’s Field is a vibrant and successful school with a fascinating history. Nestled within 42 acres of stunning Surrey countryside, we feel hundreds of miles away from the hustle and bustle of London, but can be in the city within forty minutes. Our safe, tranquil setting is home to a school with a difference, a place where individuality is celebrated and uniqueness embraced: a happy, positive environment, where the girls enjoy learning. Our founder, Julia Huxley, was an inspirational teacher with pioneering ideas about the education of young women in Edwardian England. In 1902 she realized her dream. Prior’s Field was established as a progressive school that stimulated its pupils intellectually and broadened their cultural horizons. Her bold spirit and legacy of successful innovation continue to shape our work today. This is the route to high achievement that Prior’s Field offers: high expectations and plenty of ambition within an environment that provides both a springboard for success and a safety net. At the end of their time with us, girls will have done very well academically, but it is their experience of school life that will have made all the difference. As they complete their journey, we take great pride in the young women they have become: well balanced, thoughtful of others, and fully prepared for the next stage of life. They go on to a broad range of universities to study courses that reflect the independence, diversity, and intellectual acumen we have supported. They have a confident belief in shaping their futures. Achieving happy girls, every day, is our core aim. The happiness and well-being of our girls have always been at the heart of what we do because we know that contented and fulfilled girls, succeed. They have the confidence to step outside the box, take risks, try new challenges and embrace opportunities. We celebrate achievement in the round – creatively, actively, pastorally, and yes of course academically – but not to the exclusion of everything else. Our interest is in the whole girl her achievement in everything she does and every aspect of her school life. In her interaction within the school community in her belief in herself, in her contribution as a pupil, as a peer, as a friend, and as an ambassador for Prior’s Field for the whole of her life.
