  1. Since our founding in 1964, our mission is to develop the minds and character of our students. Children start at three years of age, and we are truly blessed to watch them grow intellectually into fine young men and women on their way to college after their senior year. We are one of the only schools in Southern California to offer a full program from preschool to the 12th grade. Our international student body and teaching staff, along with our superlative and challenging curriculum, make Le Lycée an extraordinary place. At Le Lycee, we encourage and nurture our students' personal growth and create them a sense of responsibility and the skills necessary to make a difference. Our students enjoy a wide range of classes. They are immersed in a program that opens doors and allows for opportunities all over the world. The school has grown by leaps and bounds in the last ten years and has fine-tuned its excellence. At this point, we are the proudest we have ever been of our new curriculum, which allows children from all over the world to benefit from traditional European education and critical current issues. Our emphasis on the arts, sciences, and languages is unsurpassed. We can state that the International School Program is as challenging as the French Program and culminate with the Classic Baccalaureate, the Franco-American Baccalaureate, and the Capstone. Our state-of-the-art new high school campus, The Raymond and Esther Kabbaz High School in West Los Angeles, named for our founders, opened in the Fall of 2009. This ample space includes multiple new openings for promising students from prominent middle schools in our area. Our school is perfect for your children, which is the most exciting moment in this extraordinary Institution's life. Over 50 years ago, Le Lycee's founders, Esther and Raymond Kabbaz, saw that to equip a child for the modern world. Indeed, a school needed to provide each child with the ability to learn, think, and make decisions based on a sound foundation of logic, knowledge, and character. In this ever-shrinking world, they saw the advantage of teaching children within a microcosm of the worldwide community. They understood the value of an International Education adapted for a modern world. They viewed the children as not just students to process through an educational system, but as whole people in need of a life of purpose and meaning. The school continues its vision to this day. It is also a mistake to think of Le Lycee as a school for French nationals or of French ancestry. Most of our students come from homes where French is not, never has been, nor ever will be spoken. As part of the school's inclusive philosophy, there is an International program as well as a French program so that Le Lycee can welcome people from all parts of the Los Angeles community and the world. Some like to say that Le Lycee Francais de Los Angeles is "the most American French school globally." Typically, 96% of Le Lycee students go to American colleges and universities upon graduation. While Le Lycee is proud of its mission to be a bi-lingual school, offering an international education, the school's philosophy is more about developing students who can excel in a modern world. Students will leave the school fluent in at least two languages. However, if the language emphasis were not there, Le Lycee would still be a preferred place for students to gain the tools they need for college and the world beyond college. The school's students often return and report that classes at any university are a "piece of cake" because they "learned how to learn at Le Lycée." The challenging discussions of college are on par with Le Lycee's high school classrooms' challenging discussions. Le Lycee is not merely a language immersion school, but a rigorous college-prep school with a deep respect for learning others' languages and cultures.

Each of our four campuses is strategically located for optimal visual stimulation and immersion in California's vibrant entertainment, fashion, and action sports industries with great business hubs. We invite you to take a bold step, walk through our doors, and join our learning community. You will uncover not just the profession that you imagine, but the knowledge to take you there. In 1969, we were urban pioneers starting a one-of-a-kind college with two Downtown L.A. classrooms. We have grown to become four campuses with a student body of 4,200 and nearly 70,000 graduates worldwide. Our driving force has been to stay focused on our goal: to create an educational environment that fuses student desires with career realities. We are always thinking about how we can adapt and expand to meet the challenges ahead. We offer accredited Master's, Bachelors, and Associate Degree programs in design and creative business. Our students collaborate on special Industry Partner Projects with brands like Nike, Murad, Athleta, Signal Snowboards, Lacoste, GUESS, and TOMS. Part-time work and internships with companies like J Brand Jeans, Stila, Topshop, Forever 21, Victoria's Secret, and Adidas are integral parts of the curriculum. Our faculty are talented industry professionals who bring their experience and connections into the classroom, creating a dynamic, career-focused learning environment. FIDM's engaging learning environment and rigorous programs of study develop graduates who become leaders in global design and business industries. Under the guidance of industry professionals, students learn to strategically integrate design thinking with technology, producing work grounded in critical and creative thought. Graduates embrace cultural diversity and ethical choice while advancing the well-being of their communities. FIDM offers several different types of financial assistance. You may apply for federal and state grants and loans, merit-based tuition scholarships, work-study programs, and browse our Career Center listings for part-time employment. FIDM is also a military-friendly school and accepts most V.A. (Veterans Affairs) education benefits for veterans, spouses, and dependents. Enrolled students may also apply for a Work-Study program. Aid received from this program consists of wages paid for work. Earnings are not applied to the student's account at FIDM. Students interested in participating in this program must contact FIDM's Student Advisement Office. The mission of the International Student Office is to enrich international students' experience by providing counseling, information, and support services and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. FIDM has 4,200 students, which includes 650 international students from 65 countries. Each campus has a staff member dedicated to assisting our International Students with their visa needs. We offer numerous support services, including orientation, student activity meetings, and cultural exchange events. FIDM wants to make your transition to living in California as easy as possible and is here for you every step of the way. Students begin to integrate into a network that includes industry-leading faculty and 70,000 influential alumni from the first day of class. Work experience goes hand-in-hand with the curriculum as students are encouraged to intern and work in the industry to grow their network and gain real-world experience. International partnerships create the opportunity for student mobility between our partner institutions. Students mutually benefit from students' learning and experiences from across the world, preparing our students for their chosen global industries. Study Tours allow students to engage with companies and brands while getting a closer look at the industries they plan to enter. Experts guide all the tours, and many include a networking element. Students meet the people behind L.A.'s thriving denim industry, the entrepreneurs who are making over the beauty industry, and the artisans spinning magic Paris's legendary couture houses. The choice to study in California is a great one. The campuses are located in major metropolitan areas, and the large and culturally diverse populations inspire creativity and learning. More than 40 percent of our student body is from out of state or out of the country, so students network and collaborate with peers from all over the world, creating energy like no other. United by their passion, ambition, and drive, students, share a common goal—to be the best at what they love to do. Students have the unique opportunity to participate in Study Tours to places, including Paris, Rome, Milan, Florence, New York, and Asia. There are also many options for joining student organizations, which bring together those with shared interests and career goals.
  3. Founded in 1979 to serve the Greater Los Angeles Jewish community, Yeshiva University High School of Los Angeles (YULA) is a Modern Orthodox high school accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). YULA strives to provide the religious context for a student-centered, integrated, college preparatory education in both Torah and General Studies. To this end, YULA is committed to fostering a community of learners. Students, teachers, and parents work in partnership to provide an environment that nurtures spiritual growth, love of learning, personal and communal responsibility, and love for the land and people of Israel. YULA seeks to develop young men of refined midst who are compassionate and tolerant citizens who will serve their communities as Torah-ethical personalities, providing moral and intellectual leadership in the professional, business, and family arenas. The Torah and General Studies curricula challenge YULA students to be thinkers and users of knowledge by offering them various courses ranging from college preparatory to honors and Advanced Placement. YULA maintains that all of our students can learn and experience success in our classes. Students with special needs receive counseling through our inclusion program so that they, too, can be integrated into the mainstream of the academic activities at YULA. Supervised chessed programs, student council, and related co-curricular activities provide our students with an opportunity to practice their social and leadership skills and internalize their education while synthesizing both its Torah and secular components. YULA's vision is to motivate its students to strive for growth as halachically observant Jews. The curriculum and program seek to develop the student's conviction strength and thus enhance their religious commitment. YULA strives to create a partnership with parents in the students' academic, social, and religious education. Parent-Teacher Conferences, the PTA, the Education Committee, and parent education programs are organized and structured ways for parents, teachers, and administrators to communicate with each other. The religious philosophy of YULA is based on the acceptance of Torah from Sinai and a total commitment to the halachic process in determining one's lifestyle. YULA identifies with those who combine a halachic lifestyle with active participation in contemporary society without compromising or laxity in the observance of halacha. YULA recognizes that there is much value in contemporary culture, which can enhance the quality of life when integrated into a Torah lifestyle. With this in mind, all entering students receive a laptop to keep them on the edge of technology. YULA employs two full-time I.T. staff members to help facilitate and maintain all technological means at school. YULA believes that the Torah and halacha are the only yardsticks for determining the aspects of contemporary culture acceptable to an observant Jew. It is the courage to reject what is unacceptable, which gives the contemporary Jew the right to embrace what is appropriate. It is this assessment process that enables effective integration of the Torah and General Studies. At the heart of our school is an exceptional faculty-driven to inspire our students to achieve greatness. And the relationships forged between our faculty and students—relationships that stand at the very core of the YULA experience—do not end at graduation. Part and parcel of the YULA experience are having a Rebbe who will dance at your wedding, teachers who advise on graduate school, and faculty who impart wisdom when choosing a career. The YULA experience means always having a home in the heart of Los Angeles, be it playing basketball with fellow alumni or learning in our Beit Midrash. Our school theme for the year is "Inspire", and it is a concept that is felt throughout our hallways. Our students and staff members genuinely care for one another, creating an exceptional environment that exudes warmth. From the moment our Freshmen "cubs" enter our school, the emphasis is on bringing all our "panthers" together as one. It is a fascinating time at YULA as we enter our new campus, including a state of the art gymnasium and auditorium, specialty classrooms like our new robotics lab, a lecture hall, and library. These campus enhancements will enable YULA to continue leading the way in Modern Orthodox Jewish education. Our school pillars Primacy and Relevancy of Torah, Uncompromising General Studies, and Character development is felt throughout our hallways. Our students and staff members genuinely care for one another, creating an exceptional environment that exudes warmth. From the moment our Freshmen "cubs" enter our school, the emphasis is on bringing all our "panthers" together as one. View full school

The mission of the Institutional Research office is to collect, compile, and analyze data that will provide informed decision making in support of the University of West Los Angeles' overall mission. This includes but is not limited to supporting the academic and operational activities of the university. We began as a nonprofit, private educational institution with just six students in 1966 when a visionary group of local educators addressed the need for educational programs geared toward working adults. To broaden the community's access to a top-notch education in law, UWLA was born. Since its inception, UWLA has been dedicated to providing opportunities to driven individuals looking for affordable and superior education. Our Law School became accredited by the Committee of Bar Examiners of The State Bar of California in 1978. It has been continuously accredited since that date. Today, UWLA is a premier institution of higher learning and accredited through WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), so we can continue to produce intelligent, well-educated, successful people who value a superior education, want to serve their communities, and who see themselves as agents of change. Our mission and long, rich history, traditions, and methodologies have all been created to provide you a wide variety of high-quality programs that will help you reach your professional goals—both in-class and at home. In 1971, UWLA created a Paralegal program that offered a bachelor's and certificate program, which ran until 2006, when it acquired by another institution. In July 2002, the law school expanded by acquiring the San Fernando Valley College of Law, located in Chatsworth. Now we operate this campus for the School of Law and School of Business. In 2016, a new School of Business bachelors program was created to help our students not only develop intellectual, social, and personal development but gain the business acumen and practical skills needed to be hired by a wide range of business professionals around the world.

  9. Angeles University Foundation, a non-stock, non-profit educational institution, was established on May 25, 1962, by Mr. Agustin P. Angeles, Dr. Barbara Y. Angeles, and family. In less than nine years, the Institution was granted University status on April 16, 1971, by the Department of Education, Culture, and Sports. On December 4, 1975, the University was converted to a non-stock, non-profit educational foundation -- the Angeles couple and their children executed a Deed of Donation relinquishing their ownership. AUF was incorporated under Republic Act No. 6055, otherwise known as the Foundation Law, and became a tax-exempt institution approved by the Philippine government. All donations and bequests given to the AUF are tax-deductible. On February 14, 1978, AUF was converted to a Catholic University. As the first Catholic University in Central Luzon, AUF ensures professional success and total development, which is anchored on Christian education that is holistic, integrated, and formative. On February 20, 1990, the five-story, 125-bed AUF Medical Center was inaugurated, serving as private teaching, training, and research hospital, the first-ever in Central Luzon.AUF is a world-class higher education institution committed to excellence in instruction, research, and community service. It is the premier University in the region and is among the best universities in the Philippines. It has among the highest percentages of faculty with graduate degrees in the Philippines. AUF graduates have the highest weighted average passing rate in government-administered licensure examinations in the region and among the highest passing rates in the country. AUF offers relevant academic programs responsive to the demands of the local and global markets. This quality education is accessible to ALL --- a philosophy institutionalized through various scholarships and grants. Inspired by the Catholic Church's teachings and tradition, the Angeles University Foundation envisions to emerge as a Center of excellence in instruction, research, and community extension services in the region and the global community. International students are those belonging or owing allegiance to a country other than the Philippines and studying in any educational institution recognized or owned by the Philippines (MECS Memo, No. 183, s. 1983). A student, having means sufficient for his education and support in the Philippines, who is at least eighteen years of age and who seeks to enter the Philippines temporarily and solely to take up a course of study higher than high school at a university, seminary, academy, college or school approved for such alien students by the Commissioner of Immigration (Section 9(f), Philippine Immigration Act of 1940, as amended). The Commission on Higher Education (CHED), in its advocacy to enhance the research capacity and productivity of Philippine higher education institutions to contribute towards advancing the country's development and global competitiveness, has decided to adopt a differentiated and two-pronged approach to research promotion. This involved transforming and dividing the Zonal Research Centers into two groups: one group of national research centers clustered into a Philippine Higher Education Research Network (PHERNet), and another group of regional centers called Higher Education Regional Research Centers (HERRCs). Angeles University Foundation (AUF) was chosen as one of the CHED Higher Education Regional Research Center for Central Luzon. Accompanying this recognition is CHED's commitment to supporting Research funding in tandem with AUF's commitment to performing international standards research. Every country's growth and development depend primarily on its available resources, its kind of leadership and governance, and its people's innate ability to meet their basic needs and respond to the demands of modern times. For Filipinos, this line of thought has been challenged many times over by socio-economic, political, cultural, religious, and environmental forces. Home to about 100 million people today, the Philippines is still a nation struggling to attain sustainable development and economic stability in the face of seemingly endless adversities. Despite the government's well-meaning efforts to provide accessible social services to the people, such as education, health, livelihood, and infrastructure development, much more needs to be done to alleviate poverty and improve the lives of the Filipinos. This was the same compelling reason that fueled the establishment of the Angeles University Development Foundation, Inc. (AUDF) 32 years ago on November 29, 1984. The core function of the AUDF is to provide management and financial support to Angeles University Foundation (AUF) and the AUF Medical Center (AUFMC), both private non-stock, non-profit institutions based in Angeles City, Philippines. AUDF was granted recognition by the US Treasury Department on August 23, 1985, to receive donations and be exempted from paying federal taxes. The purpose of the office is to oversee all the students' non-academic endeavors on and off-campus, the enforcement of discipline and proper decorum among the student's recommendation of appropriate disciplinary action against offenders, and the processing of scholarship grants and other financial aids given to students. It is also tasked to supervise and coordinate the AUF-Federation of Alumni Associations (AUF-FAA) activities and the different college alumni associations. The Guidance and Counseling Center of Angeles University Foundation aims to assist students with various personal, educational, and career concerns. Its purpose is to promote self-awareness and self-expression in students. Counselors work closely with students individually and in groups to help them identify their strengths, reach their most significant potential, and eventually emerge as mature and responsible individuals ready to meet the challenges and make crucial decisions. The mission of the Angeles University Foundation is the harmonious development of man for services to God and Humanity. In keeping with this mission, the Guidance and Counseling Center of the University aims at the optimum development of the human person to live with dignity and integrity. The Office of the University Health Services envisions providing a healthy academic community by promoting health, preventing diseases, and curative services, thereby inculcating health consciousness through self-empowerment, leading to efficiency and productivity. The AUF Performing Arts were initially organized by Dr. Emmanuel Y. Angeles in 1963 at the former Angeles Institute of Technology in Angeles City to provide a venue for young Kapampangan artists to share and develop their talents college education under scholarship. Now under the umbrella of the AUF Center for Culture and the Arts, the AUF Performing Arts boasts of six power groups, namely: AUF Concert Chorus, AUF Dance Troupe, AUF Rondalla, AUF High School Glee Club, and the AUF Brass Band. 10. At ESLA, we abide by a straightforward truth: The best educational tool for any young person is the collaboration and camaraderie of peers from different backgrounds—peers who have stories and perspectives to share, the stuff of life that cannot be gleaned from a textbook. A truly exceptional, transformative education requires a diverse and equitable learning environment. It gives students access to entire worlds and worldviews they might never otherwise encounter. It opens their hearts and minds to the concerns, struggles, and joys of others—knowledge that will forever shape their convictions and actions in life. Study after study shows that students from diverse classrooms have more significant cultural competencies and are better prepared for higher education and life beyond. But this is about far more than college prep. At ESLA, diversity, and equity are not buzzwords or window dressing. They are irreplaceable pedagogical practices and—moreover—ethical imperatives. Breaking down the barriers in our society goes hand in hand with breaking down the barriers in our schools, and preparing tomorrow's ethical leaders requires ethical educational practices—right now, today. At ESLA, almost half of our overall tuition revenue is funded by need-based scholarships—an enormous, nearly unparalleled commitment to aid and access in the independent school world. We cannot overstate what an incredible difference this makes. Every year we enroll just as many students who know what it means to live in the most trying financial circumstances—students whose convictions are forged with a visceral understanding of economic disparity in our nation and whose perspectives are therefore vital—as we do students who come from significant affluence. A majority of our newly enrolling students identify as people of color. Our families reflect our neighborhood's vibrant diversity and our city—small business owners, studio executives, wage workers, Latinx, Korean-American, black, and white. In a fifteen-year seminar class, our average class size is often the case that no two students will approach the issue at hand from the same socioeconomic and cultural background. It is also quite telling that several of our most popular, student-founded, and student-led organizations are the Feminist Club, the Gender and Sexual Diversity Association, and Bridging the Gap. This club facilitates lunchtime conversations on issues about marginalized groups. Many of our students are openly LGBTQ. Many contend every day with the complexities of intersectional identity politics—what it means, for instance, to be multiracial, to fit into predefined categories rarely, or to experience privilege in specific ways but persecution in others. Our students lead the way in bringing our mission to life. They repeatedly prove, through their curiosity and courage, innumerable versions of that simple truth we abide: If you want to have a transformative conversation about immigration policy in the US, you have to do it with DREAMers or the daughters of immigrants in the room. If you want to have a transformative conversation about gender and sexual identity, you have to do it with LGBTQ students or LGBTQ parents' daughters in the room. The absolute best resource our students have is one another. Everyone has much to give and much to learn. This is lofty rhetoric, we know. We are just one small school, growing every day, doing our best. The path ahead of us is long, but we walk it with determination, and we hope our story resonates with yours. Our mission is what we are made of; it provides the building blocks for our entire school. We aim to foster a safe space where the most talented students from all walks of life can receive an education of unrivaled quality, space where their differences will often recede into the background as they engage in intellectual, artistic, and athletic pursuits—and space, too, where they can address their differences on an equal footing, where they can contend with tricky questions in a familiar spirit, with generosity and with joy. Everything we do is in service of this goal. We understand the value of carving out some space in a young person's life that's free from technology—free from text messages, video games, social media, and glowing liquid crystal screens. This is why our students put away all outside technology while they are on campus to focus on the school day and interact face-to-face with faculty and peers. But we also understand the incredible opportunities for integrating technology into our classrooms and our curricula. We believe that technological literacy—the ability to navigate both the potentials and perils of our rapidly evolving, tech-driven era—is an essential education component today. The school provides every student with a Chromebook and all the software they will need for class and ensures that everyone has a reliable internet connection when they go home each evening. Moreover, our campus allows our students to engage with the tools that will undoubtedly shape their futures—from high-powered desktops to robotics equipment, virtual reality goggles, and 3D printers. These are not merely expensive toys. We want our students to ask broader questions about how technology shapes the ethical landscape of the world they live in and how it can be harnessed toward positive social transformations. 16.

Since our opening in 1985, Platt College has been dedicated to the principle that education is the foundation for personal and professional growth and that students should have the opportunity to develop to their full potential. At Platt, our mission is to provide a balanced program of instruction for our students to help them acquire the specialized knowledge and skills they need to take advantage of exciting career opportunities in many of today's in-demand fields. At Platt, we continuously update our offerings to serve students and employers' needs in today's dynamic Southern California business environment. Serving the Greater Los Angeles, Orange County, and Inland Empire areas for over 30 years, Platt College offers degree programs to train graduates for careers in the legal, medical, and creative fields. A primary goal of Platt College is to assist all graduates in their job search in the field for which they have been trained. The school maintains an active career services department to assist graduates and current students seeking part-time or full-time jobs while attending school. Students are allowed to pursue job referrals generated by Career Services. A majority of our graduates who seek employment find positions in the field for which they are trained. However, the school cannot guarantee employment. Our Career Services personnel explain and directly assist with our student's job search process. Placement efforts begin on orientation day and continue through graduation and beyond. We believe that the information contained in this guide is accurate at the time of publication. However, as regulations may change, some of the information contained in this guide is subject to change. Since our opening in 1985, we have been dedicated to the principle that education is the foundation for personal and professional growth. No matter what your career aspirations, train at Platt for the career of a lifetime. Platt College will provide academic adjustments, auxiliary aids, and services (collectively, "academic accommodations") to ensure that it does not discriminate based on disability. Academic accommodations are determined based on the student's disability and individual needs. Academic accommodations may include modifications to academic requirements necessary to ensure that students with disabilities are provided an equal educational opportunity. Suppose a student with a disability wishes to receive academic accommodations. In that case, it is the student's responsibility to inform Platt College of the disability and to follow the procedures detailed in the college catalog to request the academic accommodations. 18. View full school

While the University of West Los Angeles recognizes its legal obligation to provide reasonable accommodations to students with disabilities, students requesting and utilizing these services have certain obligations and responsibilities surrounding their use of such services. 21.
