- The Lycee National Schools, which was founded in 1970, have grown continuously and gained an exceptionally high level of recognition since then. We, the Lycee National Schools, are committed to delivering the best learning experience to our students through adopting the latest educational methods empowered by the most advanced technological devices and extracurricular activities which enhance the student's intellectual, psychological, and physical development. Since we started, we have worked in full collaboration with the government aiming at reaching high academic goals. We have, also, contributed to the updating and upgrading of the national curriculum. Lycée National Schools have always motivated and encouraged all of their staff members to attend extensive workshops to ensure their top efficient and effective performance. Le Lycee National Schools started as one small school of 70 KG and elementary French-educated students in a rented building in Bshara El Khoury Street in Beirut in 1970-1971. In the following year, it grew to offer education to 111 students. Then, in 1975-1976, when the country was shredded by the Civil War, Mr. Fouad was forced to move his school to Mzraat El Chouf, his birthplace. There, he changed his village into a school, occupying its houses as classrooms and its gardens as playgrounds. At that time, the school grew to include 1600 students. In October 1977, the school was moved to a new location, Baakata, the heart of Chouf. Then, two new branches were founded, one in Dohat El Hoss, a coastal area, and the other in Ramlit El Bayda, Beirut. In 1995-1996, the Dohat El Hoss branch was moved to its current location in Choueifat. Throughout these years, Mr. Fouad’s schools have flourished and prospered to become among the best and leading schools at both local and national levels, making him the most influential figure in the field of education in Lebanon. The major factor behind this outstanding success is his vision, commitment, and passion for creating the most dynamic, challenging learning community. Mr. Fouad Thebian, a larger-than-life- figure, has been highly acknowledged for his outstanding contribution to the field of education. His infinite dedication, determination, and pursuit of excellence in all the positions he held throughout his life helped him earn the love and respect of those who knew him and worked with him. His life journey demonstrates an inspirational story of a self-made mentor who valued nothing more than education and its power to make a difference in the world. When you talk about Mr. Fouad Thebian, you can’t but talk about his most treasured accomplishment, Le Lycee National Schools. View full school
- Lycee Amchit is a private Lebanese academic institution that provides kindergarten, primary, complementary and secondary teaching. The main campus is located in the town of Amchit, in the Byblos district, 23 miles from Beirut. It welcomes students from the age of 3 years. It was founded in 1977 during the Lebanese Civil War by a psychologist (Claire Gedeon) and a specialized educator (Georges Gedeon) who fled from the ravages of war in the capital Beirut and settled in a peaceful region on the coast, Amchit. It covers an area of 10,000 sqm. The primary languages are Arabic and French. English, as a secondary language, and computer courses are taught starting from elementary 1 cycle. Students with educational difficulties benefit from the assistance of a psychologist, a speech therapist, and additional courses. Although secular, the school offers courses in religious education. These goals also make the student trusts in himself not to his family, his relatives, or his teachers what is needed, then, that learns how to clutching fish do not take him ready to eat. The nearby objectives require that the learner get attached to certain principles that are essential in every educational work. Moral foundations are: Tolerance nor find synonymous with Arabic require that each one of us bears the other despite different color, sex, religion, political or spiritual orientation. Respect for human rights, a principle or supplement the founder of the first principle. When we say respect for human rights, being a different color, sex and religion is something to be understood and not be used for exposure to the dignity of others. So these have the right to freely express their feelings and opinions without marrying the feelings and opinions that are different from them. Democracy is a norm where the student learns to respect the majority’s opinion even it was opposite to his view and through it knows that the dialogue is the best and the most effective way to convince others that his opinion is correct. Justice, which applies not only to relations boss-workers but also subordinates relationships with each other, so we discard someone’s act because he is weak and assume the other’s actions because he is strong. Justice requires that we look forward to everyone from a holistic perspective. Feeling with others and fumbling their problems is a norm that the students must get used to it through social activities: Kermes for the poor, parties for people with disabilities, visiting prisons. - First founded in 1995 by a small group of French and American families, the Lycee began as an international school of fewer than 150 students. Twenty years later, our community has grown dramatically, attracting families from around the world who share the value of an academically challenging and culturally diverse education. Families find a second home at the Lycee because of our commitment to world-class education and fluency in respect, responsibility, and the joy of learning. Today, the Lycee is Chicago’s premier international education community, consisting of nearly 500 families and more than 770 students. Our program is based on the French National Curriculum combined with key American building blocks. It offers students the best of both worlds. From the extensive French curriculum—taught in French—students become highly proficient critical thinkers by acquiring the rigorous writing skills and broad academic knowledge necessary for the French Baccalaureate. From our strong American program—taught in English—students receive the academic preparation that is sought by American colleges and universities. From multicultural exposure, students gain valuable social and communication skills and become exceptionally open-minded. Taking into account the richness, diversity, and challenges of this dual-language system, students educated at the Lycee are well-prepared to meet—and often exceed—the demands of the best universities in France, Europe, and North America. The Lycee Francais de Chicago provides its students with a rigorous bilingual education in a dynamic and welcoming multicultural community. The Lycee draws on the best of the French, American, and international educational systems preparing students to thrive at top universities throughout the world. French at its core, the Lycée’s education transforms students into global ambassadors, inspiring them to lead lives of purpose, responsibility, and respect. Cultural diversity and foreign language immersion are cornerstones of Lycee education. Children from all walks of life and corners of the world come together to explore learning through language. Cognitive skills are strengthened, capacity for creativity expands, and abilities to adapt and analyze are awakened as children apply their minds through multiple linguistic lenses. Doors instantly open to a world of learning and wonder. Through our community and classrooms, children cross international borders without ever leaving Chicago. Teachers integrate technology across all subject areas in all grades. Technology plays a large part in our pedagogy and is instrumental in the classroom. Teachers use technology to illuminate the curriculum, differentiate lessons for all learners, and instill 21st-century skills. Students use technology for critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. The Lycee education offers students a global perspective through language. As early as age 3, children are immersed in authentic dual-language learning, expanding to a third in grade 4 and even fourth or fifth language starting in high school. Our program provides students with a passport to a competitive future by putting them on track to becoming multilingual before applying to college or university. Part of our mission is to provide students with personalized services and extracurricular activities that will enable them to become successful learners and well-rounded global citizens. To achieve this mission, we provide academic and counseling services for students in need of extra help. In addition, we provide an extensive schedule of tailored after-school activities, allowing students to pursue their interests outside of class, while parents benefit from the flexible schedule and quality childcare. - From its founding in 1935 to the opening of our York Wing extension in 2015 and beyond, the Lycee Francais de New York has always embraced excellence, innovation, and openness with our students, our raison d'etre. Their learning, growth, and fulfillment are at the center of everything we do as an educational community. Committed to bilingual French and American education of the highest standard, our mission is to prepare students of many origins to be thinkers, innovators, and leaders, at home in the world. We inspire and encourage each student to excel and seek academic and personal challenges, to discover interests and fulfill talents, to embrace diversity and build community, to uphold integrity, and contribute to making a difference. The Lycee Francais de New York is steadfast in its purpose: to prepare our students today to be the thinkers, innovators, and leaders of tomorrow. Our school has always drawn on the strength of our French and American underpinnings to create a unique bilingual, pluricultural learning experience here in New York City. We are forging ahead in providing the most relevant and inspiring education for our students in an interconnected, changing world. Following a process of rigorous self-assessment, we are proud to present a shared vision for the Lycee Francais which sustains excellence and enables our students to fulfill their potential throughout their lives. Our community of parents, faculty, staff, students, and Trustees developed this plan together, building on our school’s core educational mission and objectives. This strategy affirms a path on which the Lycee Francais de New York has already embarked and which identifies what we need to do to remain the best school we can in the years to come. Learning a language is a most rewarding intellectual adventure for young minds. Becoming truly bilingual, especially in our culturally immersive environment, opens students up to other cultures in a genuine way. They gain a deeper understanding of the values, beliefs, and customs of other cultures and an ability to move seamlessly between them. We cannot think of a more valuable preparation for life in our globally connected century. At the Lycee Francais de New York, bilingualism is an inherent part of everyday life for our students. They gain full native fluency in both language and culture, as they move fluidly between our two core languages and cultures in an international environment each day. In the classroom, on the playground, in the field, and on the stage, they engage with native-French and native-English speaking teachers, coaches, leaders and staff, and each other. All of our students are (or become!) bilingual in English and French, and a full 30% speak at least three languages or more. This deep exposure to language and culture offers extraordinary, research-based benefits for students throughout their lives. We like to say that Lycee students are at home in the world, and that starts with the warm, vibrant international community that surrounds them every day, from their classmates, teachers, and staff to our families. Our inclusive learning community is one we work so hard to nurture for the benefit of our students, who are truly our raison d’etre. Our curriculum combines aspects of our two core academic traditions of France and the United States to create a stimulating bilingual learning environment that focuses on student learning, development, and well-being and unleashes the creative potential of every student. Innovation in project-based learning, STEAM, language learning, the arts, and cultural instruction is designed to enhance and deepen our rigorous curriculum. At the Secondary level (grades 6-12), intense preparation for the French Baccalaureate joins both in-class and extracurricular intellectual explorations to prepare students for our complex 21st-century world. The Lycee attracts education leaders from across the globe, with an emphasis on French-educated teachers, language instructors from their home countries, and open-minded U.S. instructors looking to challenge students — and themselves — in our unique cross-cultural setting. Our instructors get to know our students as inquisitive and developing young children and adults. Activities like our dialogue hours in the Secondary School, akin to office hours at the college level, means that doors are always open to keep the spirited conversation going. While we don’t know what the future holds, we do know that adept, adaptable individuals with a technology facility will succeed in it. Our program integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) across curriculums and at all grade levels. The Lycee is committed to smartly enmeshing STEAM with dedicated personnel in our Makerspace and Media Lab and through the activities of our science program and Cultural Center. Our students can count on professionals to help them pursue their passions and foster creativity and collaboration. View full school
- The French School of Seoul (LFS) is an establishment that agreed with the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) and approved for all levels from kindergarten to high school. Founded in 1974 in Itaewon-dong, the LFS has been settled since 1981 in the Seorae-maeul district, of which it is a recognized institution today. This integration in the heart of a multicultural district of Seoul has been consolidated following the decision taken in 2016 by the Parents’ Association (APE) to maintain the establishment on the current site and to carry out extension work. So this is a new chapter of the history of the LFS that begins to be written today, of which we are all actors. Construction work began in April 2017 will continue throughout the school year. They will enable the school to welcome students, staff, and families in new spaces more numerous, more spacious, adapted, and suitable for the educational missions of our establishment in September 2018. We will also develop a culture of safety and security in the establishment. At the same time, we will focus on maintaining and reinforcing a good-quality pedagogical and educational provision, assured by trained and committed staff, concerned with accompanying students for a successful school career. To speak of the excellence of an institution and the success of students is, of course, to speak of the excellence of their exam results, but also their mastery of several languages, of the construction of their training projects in higher education, of their engagement in civil actions, or, daily, of their progress and the efforts established by all. In the continuity of the actions carried out for several years, we must prepare, promote and accompany the future evolutions of the French School of Seoul, ready to school new French, Korean, and Francophone students. In that respect, the project of establishment in progress will define the policy and the action plan of the LFS for the coming years, reaffirming the status of French schools open to its host country and the world. You can count on the sense of responsibility and the total commitment of all the staff of the establishment, on our willingness to work for the sake of all, with the students and their parents, in synergy with the Bureau of Parents’ Association, the services of the French Embassy and the AEFE, partner associations and institutions. The French School of Seoul welcomes French children firstly to accompany expatriate families. This support also makes it possible to extend the public service outside French territory. Depending on the places available, the French high school also aims to educate the children of the host country as well as children from third countries who wish to benefit from French educational know-how. French students (72% in 2015): Native French-speaking Students from the French education system (public, private establishment under contract and of French high school network abroad) are automatically admitted to the extent that the administrative and financial conditions are fulfilled and within the limit of places available. Students from a private non-contracted institution may be tested for entry. Korean students (12% in 2015): Korean students who fulfill the conditions defined by the local regulations (presidential decree of 28/02/2009) can be enrolled in the LFS. Students who have stayed for at least 3 years abroad or who hold a third nationality and one of whose parents is not Korean may be admitted under such conditions to the LFS. If the student comes from the French education system or the French high school network abroad, admission will be possible, subject to the availability of places without an entrance test. Students of other nationalities (16% in 2015, some twenty different nationalities): Depending on the availability of place, students from the French education system or the network of French schools abroad will be admitted without an entrance test. Other Francophone students may be admitted on an entrance test. The second grade is a class of determination which makes it possible to prepare the choice of a series in the first grade. The class of second grade includes courses that are common to all students, representing 80% of the student’s overall schedule, and two courses of exploration, including one in economics, to which optional teaching can be added. In the first and final grades, in all series, the education programs make it possible gradually to acquire knowledge and skills enabling high school students to pass the baccalaureate exam and preparing the pursuit of higher education. The service of School Life is composed of the Senior Education Advisor, Mr. DELABROSSE, and five full-time or part-time supervisors. School life takes care of students outside class time. Its main mission is to ensure that each student follows his schooling in the best conditions, with respect for people, property, and rules of life in the community. The Office of School Life is a place to welcome and listen to students at any time of the day: school or personal problems, research information on the daily organization of the middle school and the high school. The Senior Education Advisor ensures the individual follow-up of students: an interview with students and families about their behavior in the middle school and the high school, listening role in close collaboration with the school nurse and the principal teachers. He regularly informs families of any problems regarding the schooling of their children. It also provides collective student monitoring, for example, by supervising the management of student flows during class time or in the organization of student delegate meetings. Supervisors oversee students mainly during studying hours, during breaks, and at intercourses. They have an educational role for students: respect for the rules of procedure, advice in the organization, help with homework. They are attentive to the various problems that students may encounter. They also manage absences and delays. We advise you to consult regularly your children’s correspondence book and promote using the login credentials that are communicated to families at the beginning of the school year. You’ll find student schedules, grades, homework, absences, and delays as well as regularly updated information. View full school

- We guarantee our compliance with the French programs while keeping in mind this quality requirement, which is reflected in the implementation in the network of the reforms and guidelines adopted by the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Research, adapted to local contexts. It fits in particular within the framework defined by the law on the foundation of the School and aims at the inclusion and success of all students. It is based on the implementation of an innovative and ambitious teaching policy in terms of knowledge and skills acquired by pupils certified by language assessments and certifications (Cambridge, DELF, DELE, and soon BIPA and HSK). We are also very committed to plurilingualism and personalized language courses. English, as well as Spanish, Chinese, and German, are honored as early as grade 6 (10 years). The Indonesian is not forgotten and benefits the pupils from the primary classes (from 6 years). we are convinced that the educational offer proposed to families must include the need for personalized support for each student in the development of his / her training path and the development of his or her study project. We are preparing for the French Baccalaureate in the English European section (100% in 2015, 47% in "Very good"), and propose the three general paths to meet the diversity of students and their expectations and competencies: Literary), ES (Economics and Social) and S (Scientific). Situated in south Jakarta, the French school came into being under the initiative of parents in 1975. The school developed gradually into an international school, despite the 1998 Indonesian financial crisis. Weakened by the crisis, but with greater experience, a strong team, and a dedicated French community, the school gradually got back on its feet and, in 2008, took on the name « Lycée International Français Louis-Charles Damais » - the name under which the school is known today. Under the French Embassy, the school is now called Lycée Français de Jakarta Louis-Charles Damais (LFJ). LFJ is part of the AEFE network. Louis-Charles Damais (Paris, 1911-Jakarta, 1966) was a researcher at the Ecole Française d'Extrême-Orient. Fascinated early on by foreign languages, he was enrolled at l'École Nationale des Langues Orientales. His exceptional gifts were soon obvious: he obtained six degrees (Persian, Oriental Arabic, Standard Arabic, Turkish, Malay, and Chinese) and also spoke Hungarian, Dutch, English, Russian, and Italian, as well as studying Sanskrit. - Lycee la Liberte is one of the ancient schools in Masr El-Gedida, Egypt. The school is founded by the French secular mission. It is called then Lycee Francais, like other Lycee Campuses that hold the same name such as, Lycee Alexandria, Lycee Port Said, Lycee Bab El-Louk. In such School, the subject had been given only in the French language, which made the students be confined in manly French and some English students. They also include other European nationalities who migrated to Egypt, in addition to some Egyptians. The school includes all the educational levels the kindergarten, primary, preparatory, and secondary school by the Egyptian Educational system. From the nationalization of the school in 1961 to 2006, the school had been teaching Mathematics in the French language including Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry, in addition to scientific subjects as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. However, the literary and historical subjects and other subjects had been taught in Arabic. In 2006, the English section was opened in which the new students can apply for the first primary, while the section was under foundation, to be continued year by year until it can embrace the rest of the educational levels. Furthermore Arabic is an obligatory subject to be taught from KGs according to the curriculum of the Ministry of Education in Egypt. On the other hand, the French section provides the students effective learning of the French language since the first primary, in addition to, a partial dealing with the French language in KGs, as being a French School. The French School Council puts the curriculum for all educational levels and the distributions. That's to achieve the foundations of language and conversation by the end of primary school, so that, the students be able to interpret, read and write in the French language, at an advanced level in different daily and scientific subjects. Then the student's level will be improved in the preparatory and first years in secondary school, in which the emphasis will be on complex dialogues and difficult words. The student will finish his first language learning by 3rd primary while starting to learn the English language as a second language according to the curriculum of the Ministry of Education. In the 4th primary, the student has to study the French language according to the curriculum of the Ministry of Education, in addition to his first language, whether being French in the case of the French section, or English in the case of the English section. The students and parents often have arguments on the importance of French as a first language, especially when they have French as a first language. Such subject is continued to be taught till High School. The building of the school is consists of separate classes for KGs, administrative buildings, and a large E-shaped building verticulary divided into three buildings, each of which contains an educational level or a group of classes as the lower half of letter E is a building-specific for primary school, while the upper half is for the preparatory and secondary school building. The land of the school included buildings as well as separate football, basketball, and handball courts, in addition to a track for a horse ride and a nursery. There is also a wide area for shelters from raids and bombs during the Second World War. Besides, the main building contains a swimming pool in the middle of its roof. That pool is used for sports training and summer periods, as being a boarding school. The school, also, contains two libraries, an Arabic and French one, also a third library for the primary school provided to both languages. Moreover, the boarding section was closed in the school after its nationalization. In the 1980s, a part of the school's land, which contained a track for a horse ride, has been turned into Yahya Rafeay School and El-Horreya Post Office, which has been named after the school. Many Politicians, Champions, Actors, and Athletics have been graduated from Lycée El-Horreya. View full school

Starting in Year 7 this program offers a new possibility to English speakers to join the school. Based on content and methods similar to our other program, the English International Programme is tailored to attract interest from local and international families who seek for their child a holistic approach to education: intellectual challenges and rigorous academics, as well as mindfulness and international focus. All subjects ( Science, Math, Humanities, Arts, etc) are taught in English, except French as a second language. Activities of service-learning and trips overseas are an integral part of this program. This program will lead to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme* (IBDP) in Years 12 and 13. Across all levels, our ambition is to create an atmosphere where students and teachers share in the joy of learning! View full school

- The French school in Johannesburg was founded in the 1960s, but due to circumstances at the time, had to shut doors, only to reopen with a very small group of 17 students in 1970. Public pre-school (cycle 1) is specific to France and Children from the age of 3 years old can join the pre-school until their compulsory schooling starts at age 6. The objective of pre-school is to assist each child gain autonomy and appropriate the knowledge and skills required to achieve success in the cycle of fundamental learning (grades 1 and 2). Classes are structured into three sections, small, middle, and upper sections according to the children’s ages and each of these sections has three classes. To facilitate the big leap to 1st grade, the Lycée Jules Verne observes a bridging period during which upper section students are prepared for and become familiar with 1st grade. From April, 1st-grade teachers teach upper section students once a week in small groups (half the class). This enables pre-school students to discover the class and the teachers that will be teaching them the following year and also allows teachers to assess the level of their future students even before the start of 1st grade. At pre-school, the child establishes relationships with children as well as with adults. They use and develop their motor, sensory, emotional, relational, and intellectual skills. They gradually become a student and discover the written word. Due to the growing demand from parents in Pretoria also wanting to educate their children in French, a second Gauteng-based French campus, Miriam Makeba was established in Pretoria in 2001. The school’s primary focus is to prepare students for international challenges. From nursery school to 12th grade (terminal) our school currently educates more than 1200 students from over 60 nationalities. In Middle School, three cycles spread over four grades, punctuate students’ education: The adaptation cycle in 6ème (grade 6), which essentially aims at consolidating the knowledge acquired in primary school The central cycle in 5ème (grade 7) and 4ème (grade ? is when students learn the fundamental knowledge and skills of the cycle 1 The orientation cycle in 3ème (grade 9) prepares students for their subject and orientation choice in the second general or professional cycle Moving from one cycle to the next is done according to orientation/subject levels. A grade meeting meets after each term and advises on a student’s advancement from one level to the next. The principal releases the orientation decision. International-oriented, the Lycée Jules Verne strictly upholds the values of the French educational system and the curriculum is in line with the French educational system (religious neutrality and respect of the different cultures). Further to this, the school is registered with the French Agency for French Teaching Abroad. Conveniently situated, the campus in Johannesburg can host students throughout their school career, nursery year (petite section, grade 000) to Grade 12, and the Pretoria campus host students from nursery year through to Grade 5 (CM2). Bilingual teaching not only provides our students with the tools they need to become successful in the global society, but it also creates a tremendously stimulating educational environment and is synonymous with academic excellence beyond mere language proficiency. Students that are educated in a bilingual environment often show increased listening skills, better memory, and become more sophisticated thinkers. It further increases students’ knowledge and value of other cultures. At the Lycée Français Jules Verne, the French curriculum is implemented in both English and French. As the performance of each of the students is of utmost importance to the school, bilingual teaching is adapted on an individual basis to strengthen and develop command of the French language so that they will have the option of furthering their education on a tertiary level in either of these languages. Further to this, the school will increase education in English to the students that have mastered French to the required level. To facilitate the big leap to 1st grade, the Lycée Jules Verne observes a bridging period during which upper section students are prepared for and become familiar with 1st grade. From April, 1st-grade teachers teach upper section students once a week in small groups (half the class). They gradually become a student and discover the written word. School aftercare is offered to students from Maternelle and Primary (from PS to CM2) from Monday to Thursday 2.25 pm until 5 pm, and on Friday from 12.10 am until 4 pm. Assisted homework is offered to Elementary students ( CP, CE1, CE2, CM1 et CM2) from Monday to Thursday 2.30 pm until 3.15 pm. To offer qualitative supervision the number of students is limited therefore the maximal number of assisted homework sessions is limited to 2 per student per week. View full school

- Generations of successive headmasters have never ceased to constantly improve this unique establishment in the service of international education. Its graduates will form a capable and efficient association whose members include personalities of all intellectual levels. Despite holding on to its traditions, to its discipline, and classical education, Balzac French International School has always been imaginative and progressive about educational development, especially in the teaching of languages and the trilingual culture, personal development through the integration of sports and arts in the school day and the motivation of pupils by granting some privileges... The school infirmary works every day from 8.00 am to 3.00 pm. The school doctor, assisted by a nurse, makes sure that all is well in the infirmary. Any pupil suffering from a medical condition can go to the infirmary with the permission of his teacher or the students’ counselor. The school doctor gives first aid to the sick or injured, sends a note to the parents and, if necessary, calls them for further instructions regarding their child’s case or to ask them to pick up their child. In case of severe accidents, the child is taken to the hospital. Life at school is based upon codes that have their foundation in the essential values of the school: self-respect and respect of others, academic commitment, solidarity and community life, classical rules of politeness, and active participation in the life of the establishment. The punitive measures imposed in case of transgressions are clearly explained. The different sections of the school have each their regulations adapted to the age of the pupils. The school uniform dictates the dress code during activities and sports competitions, pupils wear the assigned uniform. The security of the pupils especially requires controls which everybody must submit to.

- Since our founding in 1964, our mission is to develop the minds and character of our students. Children start at three years of age, and we are truly blessed to watch them grow intellectually into fine young men and women on their way to college after their senior year. We are one of the only schools in Southern California to offer a full program from preschool to the 12th grade. Our international student body and teaching staff, along with our superlative and challenging curriculum, make Le Lycée an extraordinary place. At Le Lycee, we encourage and nurture our students' personal growth and create them a sense of responsibility and the skills necessary to make a difference. Our students enjoy a wide range of classes. They are immersed in a program that opens doors and allows for opportunities all over the world. The school has grown by leaps and bounds in the last ten years and has fine-tuned its excellence. At this point, we are the proudest we have ever been of our new curriculum, which allows children from all over the world to benefit from traditional European education and critical current issues. Our emphasis on the arts, sciences, and languages is unsurpassed. We can state that the International School Program is as challenging as the French Program and culminate with the Classic Baccalaureate, the Franco-American Baccalaureate, and the Capstone. Our state-of-the-art new high school campus, The Raymond and Esther Kabbaz High School in West Los Angeles, named for our founders, opened in the Fall of 2009. This ample space includes multiple new openings for promising students from prominent middle schools in our area. Our school is perfect for your children, which is the most exciting moment in this extraordinary Institution's life. Over 50 years ago, Le Lycee's founders, Esther and Raymond Kabbaz, saw that to equip a child for the modern world. Indeed, a school needed to provide each child with the ability to learn, think, and make decisions based on a sound foundation of logic, knowledge, and character. In this ever-shrinking world, they saw the advantage of teaching children within a microcosm of the worldwide community. They understood the value of an International Education adapted for a modern world. They viewed the children as not just students to process through an educational system, but as whole people in need of a life of purpose and meaning. The school continues its vision to this day. It is also a mistake to think of Le Lycee as a school for French nationals or of French ancestry. Most of our students come from homes where French is not, never has been, nor ever will be spoken. As part of the school's inclusive philosophy, there is an International program as well as a French program so that Le Lycee can welcome people from all parts of the Los Angeles community and the world. Some like to say that Le Lycee Francais de Los Angeles is "the most American French school globally." Typically, 96% of Le Lycee students go to American colleges and universities upon graduation. While Le Lycee is proud of its mission to be a bi-lingual school, offering an international education, the school's philosophy is more about developing students who can excel in a modern world. Students will leave the school fluent in at least two languages. However, if the language emphasis were not there, Le Lycee would still be a preferred place for students to gain the tools they need for college and the world beyond college. The school's students often return and report that classes at any university are a "piece of cake" because they "learned how to learn at Le Lycée." The challenging discussions of college are on par with Le Lycee's high school classrooms' challenging discussions. Le Lycee is not merely a language immersion school, but a rigorous college-prep school with a deep respect for learning others' languages and cultures.
