- Sakkara Language School was founded in 1994 to cater to an Egyptian and foreign community desiring a high-quality education with an emphasis on academic excellence and language acquisition. The primary goals of SIS are to foster knowledge in addition to developing personal, social, and creative skills. The school offers a complete curriculum from Nursery through to Secondary. Dedicated and highly qualified staff work together in a family atmosphere to ensure that each child progresses to his/her full potential as they advance through the academic stages. SAKKARA Language School in Maadi is proud to present to its students the International British IGCSE system of Education. The candidate is expected to complete the British IGCSE system in three years Right after he/she is done with her / his third year preparatory or its equivalent from any other educational system. All students have the right to learn without being disrupted by others. No student has the right to interfere with any other student’s learning or staff member’s teaching program. The school has established the following affirmations: Students' right to learn Teachers' right to teach Everyones right to be safe The school utilizes Restorative Practices (explained further in our "Guidance' page) to assist in managing student behavior. It involves staff being trained in holding conversations which helps rebuild relationships with students when there is a breakdown in the learning process in the classroom. The process involves an afterschool conversation between staff and the students involved. It can also involve meetings with parents. However, for serious behaviors which challenge our school affirmations (e.g. physical and emotional violence, theft, drugs, verbal abuse of staff, and repeated and deliberate disobedience) we have a separate and immediate response. We utilize the services of our social services consultant in dealing with these serious behaviors. Our program is a behavior support program that focuses on four major areas within the school: school-wide behavior out of class behavior in-class and individual behavior management. We have clearly defined expected behaviors which are based on the school values of Respect, Achieve, and Participation (RAP). We are establishing procedures for teaching & practicing these behaviors and will be rewarding appropriate behavior. The program works in conjunction with our Restorative Practices processes. SLS provides a quality learning environment that challenges all students to achieve their personal best and develop a positive vision for their future. All staff has the proper training to plan, observe and assess our students' skills. Learning inside our facilities with the resources we have encourages the students to be creative and use brainstorming techniques for solving problems. SLS commits to excellence and aims to be an excellent school. We provide quality educational opportunities for all of our students. We actively encourage all students to achieve the best they can. We seek to promote within our students a positive vision for their future and we help our students become balanced and successful citizens. Our committed staff is proud of the wide range of programs we offer to cater to our students. Academic success is the most important goal for all students at our school. We have a range of programs designed to meet this objective. The curriculum at SLS is designed to help every student reach their potential and as a result, we have several pathways for students to succeed. Programs include Integrated Programmes and learning assistance. SLS follows domestic and international guidelines. The school has adopted content standards and assessments. These assessments allow teachers, students, and parents to see where individuals are in reaching and/or exceeding domestic and international Standards. The measures will determine whether the student has successfully learned grade-level standards. The results of these measures will enable teachers to teach to your child's individual needs and strengths.

- Webpages around the world may be similar, but if ours encourages you to visit us in person and take a tour, we guarantee that you will be impressed with our facilities, and more importantly, how we use them. But a school is much more even than facilities, and what makes NCBIS so special, is our student body a vibrant, dynamic, inquisitive, hard-working, creative, and extremely motivated group of young people who are a joy to be with and to teach, and who graduate as “world-class scholars and more importantly first-class citizens”. While undoubtedly Cairo possesses many fine International Schools, NCBIS in New Cairo, is unique in its ethos and internationalism. As a “not for profit organization”, 100% of the fees are reinvested into the school allowing a continual upgrade of facilities and equipment, keeping us at the cutting edge of IB World Schools in the Middle East and beyond. Currently, 63 nationalities are represented at NCBIS, and by our NGO status, we must maintain at least 60% expatriate student body, which provides that immediate international identity. It can be felt as soon as you enter the campus with a multilingual “welcome” followed by a parade of the flags of many of our most representative nationalities. Once inside the school, that all-important international-mindedness becomes even more apparent as you can’t but help notice students mixing, conversing contentedly in the playground language of English, and integrating into the “one family” that we are so keen to maintain. International-mindedness is one of the key attributes of both the Student and Teacher “Learner Profile” and at NCBIS it is a key component of everything we aim for. Our school is incredibly welcoming and it is the first thing that new students comment on. We work hard to keep it that way too, providing each new student with a buddy and monitoring their integration closely. We also encourage parents to join our wonderful Parents’ Group to work closely with the school on joint initiatives, as well as to socialize both within and outside school. The group organizes regular coffee mornings, lectures, social activities, and dances and is instrumental in coordinating traditional and much-acclaimed events like Halloween and International Day. Together with the Parents’ group we also organize charity fund-raising days for our CAS groups and an annual Family Day which is the highlight of the year’s calendar. Finally, we wouldn’t be a family if we didn’t keep in touch with our alumni, sharing and celebrating their successes at university and beyond, inviting them back to tour their second home, sharing anecdotes and inspirational messages with our student body, and of course, marveling at our constant change and upgrading. We meet them in school, at universities, and will even seek them out overseas! Well, they are our extended family and NCBIS is so much more than a “school”! The NCBIS mission is to provide a learning environment that supports academic achievement whilst promoting personal growth through the attributes of the IB Learner profile, within a caring international community committed to the traditional values of honesty, courtesy, respect, integrity, and fair play. In 2021 NCBIS is an international school of renown that provides an education of excellence by which students are prepared for a rapidly changing world where skills, values, attitudes, and attributes are as important as knowledge. This education enables students to fulfill their academic, sporting, and artistic potential and develop a positive and creative mindset that enables them to achieve success at school and in later life. This is achieved in a happy atmosphere and safe and stimulating physical environment that is conducive to academic learning as well as personal and social growth. NCBIS will continue to be celebrated for its warm and caring ethos and its positive contribution to a sustainable and just world. Our Primary school students follow the Primary Years Programme (PYP), a course of study that ‘prepares students to be active participants in a lifelong journey of learning. The Dutch stream, an integral part of our school history and culture, also bases their curriculum on the PYP but modify it where necessary. In Key Stage 3, the first three years of secondary school, we offer the English National Curriculum leading to the IGCSE / GCSE examinations in Key Stage 4. Our senior students have the opportunity to take the prestigious IB Diploma, an internationally renowned program of study that opens the doors to the best universities in the UK and around the world. None of this would be possible without teachers of the highest caliber, recruited from the best UK and international schools worldwide. In all our endeavors we are fortunate to receive tremendous parental support. We foster a sense of community and understand that positive home-school links are key to our success. We proudly celebrate our successes but at the same time, we are proactive and forward-looking and realize that change and improvement must be constant. View full school

- At our school, we are dedicated to a student-centered program that promotes academic excellence through an enriched, inter-disciplinary curriculum. As a staff, we are here to support all students, to ensure they reach their fullest academic potential. At Own Heliopolis School, one of our goals is to ensure that all students become critical thinkers, active problem-solvers, interested readers, thorough researchers, and creative writers. Starting from grade Four, our students use wireless laptops in their classrooms for word processing, math activities, Internet research, Powerpoint presentations, and other technology applications. We monitor the performance of our students through a variety of assessments including formative and summative assessments, projects, rubrics, portfolios of student work, and classroom demonstrations. We look forward to working with you, our parents and the members of the community to provide the high-quality education that you all deserve. We recognize that to be successful in school, our students need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. Look forward to working with all of you and guiding you to all academic progress. On behalf of the staff of Own Heliopolis Language School American Division. Our vision at Own Heliopolis Language School is to provide a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment where all students will learn and achieve their maximum potential. We prepare our students to be lifelong learners, leaders of the future, and productive contributing members of our world by developing their analytical, critical, and creative thinking. The mission of our school is to provide all students with high-quality education by instilling 21st-century skills and inspiring lifelong learning where each individual can grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally. At Own Heliopolis Language School, we not only foster each student’s self-esteem through positive relationships with students and staff but also strive to have our parents, teachers, and community members actively involved in our student's learning. Throughout our American Division, there is growing recognition that high-quality Expanded Learning programs have the potential to help children and youth succeed and develop to their full potential. While Own Heliopolis has made noteworthy progress, especially towards increasing technology access and participation for those most in need of services, important challenges remain, particularly about supporting quality programming, building strong data-based decision-making and communications strategies, and the integration of Expanded Learning Strategies with K-12 programming and reform initiatives. The term Expanded Learning is utilized in this document to refer to before and after-school programs, summer learning, and extended-day, -a week or -year programs, with a focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of students through hands-on, engaging learning experiences. Expanded Learning programs should be results-driven, flexible to student and community needs, include community partners, and complement but not replicate traditional classroom instructions. Our Beliefs: Students learning needs are the primary focus of all decisions impacting the school educational program. Each student is a valued individual with unique intellectual, physical, social, and emotional needs. All students are capable of learning and need to apply their learning skills in meaningful contexts. A student's self-esteem is enhanced by positive relationships and mutual respect among students, staff members, and administrative staff. Embracing diversity makes students stronger and enriches life. The pursuit of knowledge, understanding, and honesty is a fundamental human need. No institution has a more profound life-long effect on the individual than a family that shares the responsibility for advancing the school's mission. Special case students (e.g. Special educational needs, limited English proficiency, talented, and gifted, etc.) require special courses, instructional materials, and resources. Clear goals and high expectations for students' achievements should guide the development of the curriculum and the design of instructional strategies and learning activities. Curriculum, instruction, and assessment should be aligned to meet the needs of all students. View full school

- Nile Union Academy is a Seventh-day Adventist Christian boarding high school. We are owned and operated by the Egypt-Sudan Field Office of Seventh-day Adventist Church. We accept the Old and New Testament scriptures as our creed and we teach Jesus Christ as the savior of the world. Our educational system is patterned after the American educational system which values class attendance, participation, and performance as the base of its education. NUA adheres to a blueprint for education that was originally conceived in the Old Testament “School of the Prophets” that seeks to daily train and teach young people through instruction, activities, relationships, work, responsibility, consequences, and life experiences. All classes at NUA are taught in English except for second language classes. Our discipline style is consequence-oriented, rather than shame-based. We desire that students will not only succeed academically, but will upon graduation leave NUA with the foundation to succeed morally, socially, and spiritually in life. We believe that the integrity and honor of our head, heart, and hands must be the foundation of a life surrendered to God. NUA exists to promote God’s work in the lives of young people. Our mission is to educate young believers to use their heads, heart, and hands to God. NUA is an academic institution. One of our primary goals is to give a good education—good in the eyes of the families that sent the students to our school and to the students themselves good in the eyes of intuitions of higher learning that our students wish to attend, and good in the eyes of potential employers. The head is about cognitive function and being logical. How do they think? Are they logical people for whom a rational argument will be effective? How do they use logic? What are their goals, and how will the idea affect them? At NUA we try and help students become logical and rational using their heads. NUA is an educating community. The heart is about affective function, emotions, and feelings. Think about how you can use emotion to get your idea across. It is in the business of shaping attitudes—attitudes of students towards themselves, to their peers, to trainers and authority, to the community and nation—current and future. We teach students to be subject to the governing authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience. To sincerely give to everyone what is owed, pay what is agreed, and give respect and honor to whom it is due. NUA embraces a work-study philosophy. It is not a school to just come up with academic solutions and have the attitude that is needed to achieve these solutions, but a school to help students accomplish what needs to be done. We teach students to do life chores to share the tasks of community living to reduce their family’s financial investment in their education. To develop a work ethic that embraces necessary work of every kind. These days the meaning of ‘hand’ has been expanded beyond manual labor to taking on any task that helps the survival of ourselves, our community, and our nation-- to move beyond can-do to has-done. We offer innovative teaching methods, not just the traditional teaching methods. Our teaching approach develops students' strengths and abilities to reach their potential. Our student-centered integrated thematic curriculum makes it fun and easy for students to learn. Our teaching style enhances creativity stimulates thinking, builds confidence arouse curiosity and a sense of wonder. Our team of qualified, experienced, and passionate teaching staff constantly improves, innovates, and creates an exciting learning journey for students. Their caring ways in students’ well-being and character development bring out the best in students. Though still improving Our range of facilities such as air-conditioned labs with audio-visual equipment provide a positive learning environment. A portion of our curriculum is dedicated to offering basic etiquette classes to help students treat others with respect and develop the skills to communicate effectively to reduce conflict.
- Salahaldin International School is in its seventh year of operation, having opened its doors to students in September of 2009. The school campus is located in a fast-growing, classy neighborhood on the outskirts of the greater Cairo area. The school serves upper-middle-class families. One of our under-girding beliefs is that diversity is a strength and students are taught understanding, tolerance, and respect for all people. However, the student body is exclusive of the Islamic faith, due to our course offerings of religion and the Quran. Many of the parent stakeholders state that they are seeking a school with an American system of education with Islamic values. The vast majority of students, about 75%, are Egyptian nationals. Around fifteen percent of the student body is Turkish and another ten percent from other nationals or dual nationals. Students of all nationalities mingle with their new community and are mainstreamed for basic instruction. Additionally, the EFL program for English and after-school courses for the Arabic language offer instruction for the improvement of those students who have little or no exposure to these languages previously. In the present academic school year 2015 – 2016, it serves around 930 students encompassing a student body from pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. School’s first graduating class was graduated at the end of the school year 2012 -2013. Around 100 students have graduated from SIS in the past 3 academic years. There are 37 students in the senior class of 2016. There is around 120 teaching staff. The teaching staff members are mainly Egyptians. The others are from different backgrounds and nationalities, including Turkish, Albanian, American, Serbian, and Romanian. They bring with them a wide range of styles and experiences. It is one of the school’s challenges to build strong working bonds amongst such diverse people. Communication between Arabic-speaking staff and English-speaking staff at times presents a challenge, but not a barrier. Teachers work closely together in grade-level teams, subject departments, and school sections to plan, deliver, and improve instruction. SIS campus facilities are aimed at giving its students the most well-rounded education and exposure possible with academic and sports facilities for all. All classes within the school buildings are equipped with smart boards as the school aims to promote interactive learning. SIS has 4 science labs that are well equipped and adhere to high safety standards. SIS has 5 computer labs with 24 all-in-one computers in each. Four art rooms, three music rooms, a drama room, a 3-D cinema, two conference halls, and an auditorium with 550 seats are available to support our visual and performing arts program. The academic school year consists of 175 instructional school days. The regular school day runs from 7:30 to 2:40 from Sunday to Wednesday. Students are dismissed at 1:40 p.m. on Thursdays. Report cards are issued three times a year at the end of each trimester and parents are invited to discuss their child’s progress during parent/teacher conference which is held once every trimester. Teacher workdays are scheduled at times throughout the year as well as a general two-week orientation/in-service at the beginning of the academic year. Every Thursday from 1:50 pm to 4:00 p.m. is set aside for professional development workshops, staff meetings, and committee meetings. Each school section maintains a master schedule of classes. The Kindergarten department maintains a schedule of 29 lessons per week, each session being 40 minutes. The Lower and Upper Elementary departments maintain a schedule of 34 lessons per week, each session being 40 minutes in duration, and the Middle/High School department maintains a schedule of 34 lessons per week, each session being 50 minutes. The school has collaboratively developed and continues to implement a curriculum based on clear measurable learning goals. The curriculum is aligned to the Common Core standards and benchmarks. Curriculum guides contain learning objectives that are aligned to the standards and teachers use them to plan their daily instruction in the classroom. Salahaldin International School offers a rigorous, well-balanced course of study. Educational materials used are selected for their viability in the American curriculum and adaptability to the Egyptian environment. Instructional materials are compiled from a wide variety of sources, including Harcourt School Publishers, and are aligned to curriculum standards used throughout the three school departments. The school believes the Language Arts/Literacy program to be the base for all learning. The importance of reading fluently, writing expressively, listening effectively, and speaking masterfully cannot be overstated. To achieve mastery in these areas, students are given many opportunities to practice. To prepare students to responsibly participate in and contribute to contemporary society as informed, aware, active, and caring citizens, they must be proficient in the use of the native language of the country. Thus Arabic is given priority among the subjects and the school complies fully with all Ministry of Education rules, regulations, and instructional protocols. SIS holds the belief that Students learn best through natural, meaningful, integrated experiences that are relevant to their lives. The classroom is child-centered and active. Teachers respect students’ prior knowledge and build upon their competence. The teachers recognize the importance of trial and error, risk-taking without fear of failure, and the need for time to grow. The teacher facilitates learning by modeling and engaging students in a wide range of activities. Students are expected to take an active role in their learning and are encouraged to experiment and think for themselves. Students are encouraged to use a wide range of materials and resources, working individually and in small groups. Individual growth is the goal and teachers accept pupil differences. Laboratory experimentation in Science, hands-on manipulation of math learning resources, application of Language Arts skills in activities such as letter writing, conversational practice, oral presentations, and reading for information and entertainment, are a few of the ways students learn by doing. Teachers allow students to explore the application of higher-order thinking skills through many classroom strategies such as class discussions and debates, problem-solving activities, research and project work, student presentations, and encouragement in taking leadership roles. Teachers have access to instructional technology and it is integrated into their lesson planning and classroom instruction regularly. Students are given instruction and practice in the use of technology in the weekly Computer/Technology course of study. The school maintains effective programs of study in Mathematics, Science, the Arts – music and art, Physical Education, and Computer/Technology in technology-ready classrooms, well-equipped science labs, music, and art rooms, weight room, computer labs, department libraries, multi-media room, auditorium, and outdoor sports courts. Starting the academic year of 2015-2016 Middle and High schools are working thoroughly with the 21st-century organization. The Partnership for 21st Century Skills is a national organization that advocates for the integration of skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication into the teaching of core academic subjects such as English, reading or language arts, world languages, arts, mathematics, economics, science, geography, history, government, and civics. Every 21st-century skills implementation requires the development of core academic subject knowledge and understanding among all students. Those who can think critically and communicate effectively must build on a base of core academic subject knowledge. View full school

- International College is where students are directed towards identifying their skills, passions, and attitudes in an environment where all learners are valued. Guided by the philosophy that a holistic approach to learning is vital, I firmly believe that it is essential that all teachers at NIC aim at recognizing the uniqueness of every student, adapting their teaching and learning strategies to meet their learning styles and abilities. Our prime objective at NIC is to prepare our students for what they need to face in the 21st century with all its challenges this is why we chose the IB system as our educational program. The IB system prepares students to be international citizens who cherish their own identities. It guards them with the ability to transfer skills and knowledge they learn to create new solutions for problems that are still, and will keep on evolving. None of this would be possible without our teachers who are from the highest caliber recruited from the best Egyptian and international schools. Nevertheless, the endeavors of our parents and their support thus remain an indefinite pillar at NIC. Acknowledging that children benefit best when the significant adults in their lives work together to encourage and support them, we believe that fostering positive home-school links is key to the success of our educational process. As one walks through the school hallways and visits classrooms, I can confidently say that we offer an exceptional education for every child that attends our school. NIC offers a world-class international curriculum that seeks to grow learners who want to make the world a better place through meaningful action and inquiry-based learning. NIC focuses on your child’s cultural identity as well as his/her love for their Arabic language and their country. NIC is committed to the well-being of your child. Our objective is to raise happy and optimistic children so we pay great attention to teachers' training so that they know how to deal with children (check the teachers’ professional development section). NIC also has counselors who work with teachers and parents to make sure students are treated in the right way. NIC believes learning is a partnership among parents, teachers, and the community this is why it offers parents professional development programs. NIC believes in community service activities and deals with many charity and developmental organizations to facilitate students’ involvement with their society in an attempt to prepare caring and responsible students. NIC deeply values and emphasizes the importance of ethics education and the spiritual growth of its students. NIC staff includes experienced IB consultants and trainers as well as experts in the fields of character education and positive parenting. NIC believes teachers are the main asset and so it seeks to hire and retain the best calibers. The primary year's program (PYP) is designed for students aged 3 to 12. It focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside. As technologies are emerging in our everyday lives and are changing how we access, create, and communicate information, NIC has to meet the technology goals through providing educational benefits and make use of the positive impact of technology in teaching and learning. According to the IB PYP Teaching and Learning standards and practices, schools should incorporate a range of resources, including information technologies. NIC has invested in a variety of different technologies including interactive smartboards inside each classroom, tablets for students’ use, a fully equipped computer lab, and desktops. A school clinic is a health care facility within the school intended to provide basic health care for students and /or refer them to the specialist/primary health center if required. A full time highly qualified doctor with her assistant is available in the clinic the whole day. The school clinic has all the necessary equipment needed for the optimum medical service for the students including an oxygen nebulizer. We make every effort to promote hand-washing and good hygiene in the school to prevent the spread of illnesses. routine check-up on hair, nails, and personal hygiene is performed regularly. We appreciate your efforts and consideration to protect the health of your children and other children with whom they come in contact. NIC building is on a 10,000 square meter plot of land.
