      1. Living in today's global world has become very challenging in this age of emerging technologies where education and research pave the way for the socio-economic development of all developed nations. The importance of knowledge and education has been the fundamental focus of our "deen" - Islam as this "Hadith" of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasis "seek knowledge from cradle to grave", yet we have been lagging behind many developing countries of the world in educating and learning. The opportunities of Higher Education among female folks of our country and especially in Southern Punjab have been seriously deficient over the years. However, the inception of Government Sadiq College Women University (GSCWU) is a right step by the Govt. of Punjab. As the saying goes "You educate a man. You educate a woman you educate a generation. "The challenge ahead is to develop GSCWU into a world-class seat of higher learning. Where education and research will go hand in hand to equip the young girls of Pakistan with state of the art technologies and innovative skills that will provide them a competitive edge in grabbing job opportunities and leading enterprises of their own to provide jobs for others. To this end, the priorities are to induct and develop highly qualified and trained faculty in all the existing and emerging disciplines of sciences, engineering, information technology, management science, and humanities. Similarly, the civil infrastructure, computational facilities, and scientific laboratories are certainly the priority areas for further development of this institution as per world-class standards. No stone will be left unturned in the grooming and personality development of our graduates so that they can be full of physical energy, intellectual strength, and ethical values. For strengthening and economic empowerment of women in this relatively underdeveloped area of Pakistan, special focus is going to be directed towards the establishment of technology incubators and entrepreneurial development centers. As an emerging university in southern Punjab, The Govt. Sadiq College Women University aims to provide quality education to empower women through knowledge and skills to participate actively in the socio-economic development of Pakistan as well as to impact the attitudes and behaviors of its graduates through various programs and initiatives to emerge as responsible, peaceful and tolerant citizens of the world. To prepare dynamic women leaders and practitioners in teaching, research, and management having content excellence, pedagogical competence, commitment, and integrity who may ensure quality and sustainable development of Pakistan in general and south Punjab in particular. The Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur is one of the most prestigious and well-known institutions of southern Punjab for women. It was named after its founder Nawab Sir Sadiq Khan Abbasi V. The GSCWU Bahawalpur is dedicated to a forest academic environment that enriches the personal, professional and academic lives of female students, staff, and faculty. It seeks to establish high quality in teaching and research in ornamenting the women with the jewel of higher education and illuminates the area to revive its past glory. The Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur was founded by Nawab Sir Sadiq Khan Abbasi V as an intermediate college for women in 1944. Later on, in 1957 it was upgraded as a degree college for women. Keeping in view the growing needs of higher education for women in southern Punjab, Masters Programs were initiated and it was upgraded as a postgraduate college for women in 2010. In December 2012, The Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur (Act VIII of 2013) was passed by Punjab Assembly and assented by the Governor of Punjab on 3rd January 2013.
