All undergraduate students take a specific number of credits in the Liberal Arts Core. These include writing, mathematics, the natural and social sciences, humanities, philosophy, and theology/religious studies. Interwoven in the vision and mission of Silver College of the Holy Family is experiential learning. Experiential learning is the process of taking what each Silver College of the Holy Family student is learning in the classroom and providing them with career-related experiences such as internships, on-campus jobs, clinical, practicums, and student teaching. Each of these opportunities provides the student with hands-on work experience that prepares them for careers and helps build each student's resume. During each experience, the student has the support of a faculty, staff, and host supervisor who helps each student reflect on each career related experience and assists them with relating the experience to their future career goal. Silver Lake College of the Holy Family traced its educational foundations to 1885 when the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity established the College's forerunner institution on Silver Lake near Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Its purpose was to prepare young women who entered the Religious Community for the apostolic work of teaching. When many states in the 1920s required state education certificates or a degree, the Sisters were sent to teachers' colleges to pursue academic degrees. With the Depression of the 1930s, continued education at these colleges became financially prohibited. Therefore, the Superior of the Community, Mother Generose Cahill, proceeded to have a Holy Family Convent wing—a college. The Sisters who had attained college degrees would be the core educators of this new foundation. In 1935 Holy Family College was established. Before laywomen were admitted in 1957, nursing students from the Holy Family Hospital School of Nursing attended the College by special arrangements. By the end of the decade, the College admitted its first male students and became coeducational in 1969. In 1960, a new structure was built on a 36-acre tract of land adjacent to the Holy Family Convent. Becoming a separate corporation in 1972, its name was changed to Silver Lake College of the Holy Family. As professional needs changed, studies expanded: business and computer science programs, degree-completion programs, and off-campus, professional development coursework. Graduate-level programs are offered in four areas: Master of Arts in Education focusing on Teacher Leadership or Administrator Leadership Master of Science in Leadership and Organizational Development Master of Music in Music Education with a focus on Kodály

Universidad Adventista del Plata is part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church education system. It integrates four academic faculties and an institute of higher education. We have 30 different programs of study and academic courses designed to train professionals both in excellence and service. The University offers laboratories for specific learning areas, classrooms, multimedia services, research, simulation laboratories, and conference rooms. These infrastructures were specially prepared for our student's professional growth. Universidad Adventista del Plata is opened for every citizen of every nationality, taking into consideration the Argentinean Migratory Laws in force. Once admitted by the University, the international student is advised adequately by the University's personnel following law 25,871, clause 20,699, section 2, subsection c), to fulfill the steps to obtain the temporary residency as a student. After having been told the steps to be completed, the student has the responsibility to complete the migratory steps to stay in the country. The UAP has as a strategic decision to promote and ensure the highest quality research and, for that purpose, has implemented rigorous processes of evaluation and selection of bankable projects. In 1898 a hope was born. An Adventist group of pioneers, led by Pastor Francisco Westphal, gave rise to Colegio adventista del Plata (Del Plata Adventist College). There were six students, and the first courses they offered were: Nursing and theology. In 1899 the first building with five classrooms was built.In1990, On December 7th, the former Adventist College becomes Universidad Adventista del Plata (UAP), being officially recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Education of the Nation by Ministerial Resolution No. 2241 /90. In 1994 the medical career was initiated at the Faculty of Health Sciences. At the time, the Nations's President, Dr. Carlos Menem, attended the act of initiation of the academic year. In 1998 the former Adventist College celebrated 100 years. The main events were chaired by the national president, Dr. Carlos Menem, and the president of the Adventist world church, Pastor Robert Folkenberg.In 2001, on November 27th, according to 397/ 01 Resolution of the COMEAU, the medical career received its accreditation. On December 5th of that year, in section No. 127, the same entity prepared the technical report containing the final considerations for the definitive recognition of the University.In 2002, on May 10th, the Official Gazette published the Decree 795/2002 of the National Government, for which the University obtained its final recognition. On May 31st, the President of Argentina, Dr. Eduardo Duhalde, made it public at the University's Graduation Act. In 2008, in his 110th anniversary, the UAP already had over thirty undergraduate programs, more than three thousand students representing fifty-two nationalities, the temple project underway, and the realization of a prayer garden to worship God. After 116 years, thanks to the hope and efforts of our pioneers, the UAP is the oldest Adventist educational institution in South America with an enrollment of over 300 students, divided into three levels: primary, secondary, and University, which offers over 30 different career options.
