        Lycee Amchit

        Lycee Amchit is a private Lebanese academic institution that provides kindergarten, primary, complementary and secondary teaching. The main campus is located in the town of Amchit, in the Byblos district, 23 miles from Beirut. It welcomes students from the age of 3 years. It was founded in 1977 during the Lebanese Civil War by a psychologist (Claire Gedeon) and a specialized educator (Georges Gedeon) who fled from the ravages of war in the capital Beirut and settled in a peaceful region on the coast, Amchit. It covers an area of 10,000 sqm. The primary languages are Arabic and French. English, as a secondary language, and computer courses are taught starting from elementary 1 cycle. Students with educational difficulties benefit from the assistance of a psychologist, a speech therapist, and additional courses. Although secular, the school offers courses in religious education. Lycee school Amshit Goals of long-term objectives to contribute to the creation of a free citizen, responsible, aware of their rights and duties Freedom means here that the attitudes and opinions of the student are not imposed and do not necessarily supersede the views and positions of others. These goals also make the student trusts in himself not to his family, his relatives, or his teachers what is needed, then, that learns how to clutching fish do not take him ready to eat. The nearby objectives require that the learner get attached to certain principles that are essential in every educational work. Justice, which applies not only to relations boss-workers but also subordinates relationships with each other, so we discard someone’s act because he is weak and assume the other’s actions because he is strong. Justice requires that we look forward to everyone from a holistic perspective. Feeling with others and fumbling their problems is a norm that the students must get used to it through social activities: Kermes for the poor, parties for people with disabilities, visiting prisons.
