- Lyndon Green Infant School is a popular inclusive school with a special unit for children with Cognition and Learning Difficulties. A partnership is a keyword here at Lyndon Green, and all those associated with the school, staff, governors, parents, and children, celebrate achievement in all its forms, value highly the contribution made by children with special needs, and enjoy working together. We share a campus with our partner junior school, and there are regular cooperation and consultation between the two schools to ensure continuity and progression for our pupils. Strong links exist between our school and Garretts Green Nursery School, and we also have close links with Brays Special School for children with physical disabilities, situated immediately opposite our main entrance. We also enjoy the mutual benefits of working with other schools, as part of a teaching school alliance. Lyndon Green Infant School, a school where the children are at the heart of all we do, and where each child is encouraged to achieve success and develop a love of learning that we hope will continue throughout the rest of their school career and on into adult life. But success doesn’t happen by magic. All school staff works together with the pupils, their parents, our governors, pre-schools and feeder schools, members of the local community, and various LA agencies. We have a well-planned curriculum that focuses on structured development of the basic skills within a broad and balanced thematic program with activities that can be tailored to meet the needs of all pupils, both the least and most able, with lots of enrichment activities to make learning meaningful and enjoyable, ensuring that the children are keen to come back for more! Our school aims to achieve success for all by: To work competently and confidently and make good progress in all areas of the basic skills. To develop oracy skills to communicate confidently and effectively with clarity and understanding. To gain confidence and competence in the use of Information and Communication Technology to enhance and extend learning. To provide opportunities for children to think creatively, enabling them to solve problems and apply their findings to real-life situations. To grow as independent learners, providing opportunities for children to research and investigate subjects that are meaningful to them. To provide opportunities for well-scaffolded child-initiated learning enabling children to build on skills already acquired. Celebrate the work of all learners whatever their ability, working together towards success. Providing a safe and secure environment in which we can all grow as individuals. Developing an awareness of self and others. Developing respect for others, particularly about culture, religion, gender, and age. To acquire a set of moral values on which to base their behavior. Gaining an appreciation of their own and other environments. Encouraging and developing a healthy lifestyle. Participation in healthy activities both in and out of school. To feel self-confident and happy, having a sense of achievement. Including families and our local community to take an active part in school life. To develop positive attitudes to learning, fostering each child’s learning needs. A realization that we are all on a learning journey that learning is lifelong and inclusive. Providing opportunities within our curriculum and beyond for children to enjoy and achieve in their learning. To maintain a learning environment that is visually stimulating, developing an appreciation of aesthetics and further enhancing learning. Establishing and upholding positive relationships with others, building emotionally literate human beings. To appreciate that both success and failure provide opportunities to learn. To appreciate that learning is a shared activity. Provide opportunities for everyone to smile, laugh, and have fun.
- In our school, we aim to create an atmosphere of respect, trust, and happiness, where each child feels secure, cared for, and has a sense of belonging. We also endeavor to have each child working to their full potential. Children will be introduced to a wide variety of learning experiences. We hope that each child’s journey through primary school will be a happy time for all the family, both in terms of educational development and the friendships which are made not only with other children but staff and parents as well. We are committed to the achievement of higher education standards. This means providing a challenging, stimulating, and secure environment where the emphasis is on high expectations and quality learning outcomes. We believe that children need to be actively involved in their learning and see the purpose and value of it. They need to have the opportunities to work independently and collaboratively and see themselves as successful learners. It is therefore vital that the children are given the desire, belief, and confidence to achieve. The school actively seeks the involvement of and support from parents and organizations within the local and wider community so that the children have access to a broad range of learning experiences. Lyndhurst Primary School is committed to an equal opportunities policy. We believe that a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum, which caters to individual needs, is an entitlement for all children, regardless of their race, gender, religion, or social background. We have high expectations of children's standards of work and behavior. We provide a caring, challenging, and stimulating environment where all children can progress and achieve. Our aims are for our children to: Achieve high academic standards by developing each child's ability to its full potential. Develop independent, self-confident, and self-motivated children, who are actively involved in their learning. Ensure children behave appropriately, show respect for others, and take responsibility for their actions. Give children opportunities to express and explore their imaginative and creative skills and talents. Promote partnership between staff, parents, and children in creating a stimulating and attractive environment, which reflects high expectations. - There are two mantras of Ludgrove life: ‘Be kind’ and ‘Be the best you can’ and our motto ‘whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with all they might’ Ecclesiastes IX v.10 is as true today as it was when the school was founded in 1892. Since that date, society might have changed however, the hope that by the time a boy leaves Ludgrove he has acquired confidence in his ability, a sense of moral awareness, and a set of values that will remain with him throughout his life, has remained steadfast. Ludgrove is a thriving fortnightly boarding school for boys age 8 to 13, which sits in 130 acres of spectacular grounds and it is a magical place to spend five years of childhood. We believe our homely environment provides a wonderful place where boys flourish and realize their potential. As a school, we are unashamedly ambitious for every boy and are proud of our strong academic record. The boys have a wealth of opportunities: a stimulating curriculum, exceptional facilities, and a vibrant extracurricular program with exposure to music, drama, sport, and art. We aim to develop the boys’ confidence in a caring supportive environment, where they are valued as individuals and learn to live as a community. Friendships are made for life and the unique Ludgrove spirit allows boys to thrive in an atmosphere of high achievement, happiness, good manners, and kindness. The principal aims of the school are for boys to grow and develop in a happy caring environment, to explore and expand their potential, and to learn to develop an awareness and concern for others around them. We aim to prepare our boys to meet the demanding challenges they will experience at the next stage of their education with confidence and good humor. Initially, considerable care is taken to see that new boys settle naturally in what to them may seem a strange place, particularly as they will not have experienced boarding before. As a consequence, much emphasis is placed on close relationships being formed between staff and pupils. We consider that during a boy's first year it is most important that he establishes a good rapport with his peers and adults. This, we believe, to be as essential as actual academic success, which will come once a boy has settled into his new community. The headmaster, his wife, and all staff take particular care to get to know each boy individually and maintain strong and frequent contact with parents. As a boy grows older, increasingly more is expected of him in the way of self-discipline and self-reliance. He is encouraged to work hard and contribute fully to school life. All boys choose to become fully involved in a variety of different occupations, be they sporting, musical, dramatic, or otherwise, with the emphasis essentially being on the need to do everything to the best of their abilities. By the time a boy leaves Ludgrove, we hope that he has acquired confidence in his ability, a sense of moral awareness, and a set of positive values that will remain with him throughout his life. The school is set in beautiful grounds of 130 acres in rural Berkshire, with gardens and woodland in which to play. Its excellent facilities and beautiful surroundings give the boys a wonderful opportunity to develop their interests and talents, use their imagination and, from the start, they are encouraged to involve themselves in a wide variety of activities. The enviable expanse of playing fields and first-class indoor facilities enable all the boys to participate in a large variety of sports and activities. The games program is full and varied and boys take part in organized games five afternoons a week – principally football, rugby, hockey, and cross country in the winter and cricket, athletics, tennis, and swimming in the summer. The sports facilities include extensive playing fields and a wonderful nine-hole golf course. The all-weather Astroturf provides excellent grounds for hockey, cricket, and tennis in addition to four hard-core tennis courts. Indoor facilities include two squash courts, a sports hall, two Eton fives courts, and a magnificent 20-meter indoor swimming pool. View full school

- Lucton School, a day school and boarding school for girls and boys aged from 6 months to 18 years old, set in beautiful rural Herefordshire. A great route to the best UK universities. At Lucton we aim to bring the best out of every individual, recognizing their unique gifts, talents, and abilities. We aim to provide a secure, happy environment in which pupils can flourish academically, socially, intellectually, and physically. A small school has many advantages in the vital area of pastoral care. All pupils at Lucton know each other well and pupil-teacher links are readily maintained on a friendly and relatively informal basis. Academic and social progress is regularly monitored, with Form Tutors taking an active role in supporting their tutees. There is a well-publicized code of conduct that acts as a guide to the personal standards expected and this emphasizes good manners, tolerance, and respect for others at all times. Form Tutors provide a daily point of staff contact for all pupils and our merit system gives immediate reward for constructive and thoughtful contributions to school life. At Lucton, we believe in the recognition of personal achievement and high standards in all work and extra-curricular activities and the positive reinforcement of good behavior through praise. We place considerable stress on self-discipline and the development of self-confidence and responsibility by individuals as they gain seniority. Teamwork and friendly competition are encouraged through a house system, while senior pupils are given privileges and responsibilities as prefects. Lucton is proud to offer children from 6 months the best possible start in the Nursery. They progress through early years to the prep school, then to Senior School and Sixth Form. Throughout the time they are with us, pupils benefit from small classes and excellent teaching in a warm, homely environment, where they feel accepted, valued, and secure. This is borne out by the students’ excellent results and the confidence with which they take their next steps into life beyond Lucton. Founded in 1708, Lucton is situated in the beautiful countryside of North Herefordshire, with glorious views over to the Brecons and the Black Mountains. Our campus is rural but within easy reach of our local towns, Leominster, Ludlow, and Hereford. School buses are available to transport day pupils from all corners of Herefordshire, as well as the nearer parts of Shropshire, Worcestershire, and Powys. We can meet international flights at Birmingham and London airports. The original school occupied the beautiful Queen Anne building pictured here. Major extensions were added in the 19th and 20th centuries and further ambitious developments will take place over the next 5 years to provide additional sporting, academic, and boarding accommodation. Pupils enjoy the use of our heated indoor Swimming Pool, opened in our Tercentenary Year by His Highness Prince Edward, Duke of Wessex. Our sports fields are within the school grounds and our Sports Hall has recently undergone a major refurbishment, providing an excellent environment for many sports. Sport plays a major part in the lives of Lucton pupils. Cricket, cross-country, netball, hockey, tennis, athletics, basketball, badminton, lacrosse, fencing we like to think that, if pupils play it, we’ll provide it! Rugby is a particularly popular choice for our boys, with regular competitive fixtures and occasional overseas tours. Lucton is proud of its new equestrian center. Set in 14 acres, immediately opposite the school, the center offers stabling for 14 horses, riding lessons, and support for those who want to ride purely for pleasure as well as those who want to hone their competition skills. We hold our inter-schools showjumping competition every year. CCF and the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme are popular choices with weekly meetings, training camps, and expeditions. Other activities include gardening, cookery, speech & drama, science club, rambling, fencing, chess, ICT, film club, chess, debating – the list goes on …. School productions, local competitive festivals, and the LAMDA examinations, as well as all aspects of speech, drama, and dance, provide students at all stages with many opportunities to develop their confidence. The Music Department combines a strong choral tradition with modern and traditional instrument tuition and there are many opportunities to perform in school concerts and competitions. Opportunities abound and range from local farms to see lambing for the little ones, to Florence & Rome for senior students. In between, there are trips relating to all curriculum subjects as well as those for fun, adventure, sport, and culture. We have 55 acres of well-maintained grounds with stunning views towards the Welsh mountains. All our pitches and courts are part of the school campus, as is the equestrian center. We have woods that are home to our Forest School and form part of our cross-country competition course, an orchard that produces masses of apples. We have recently planted more trees including a Jubilee Oak.
Every single school takes huge pride in the top performers in every cohort of young people. In late August we become preoccupied with how many A and A* grades have been achieved by groups of pupils across the country, at both A level and GCSE level. It is good to applaud the efforts of those young people and to admire their achievements. At the same time, we must remember the fact that we are not all top academic performers, just as we are not all elite sports performers or capable of producing astounding works of art. At the risk of coming out with a platitude, we are all different. However, in our measures of success of education, our society seems to be obsessed with defining success as a clutch of the highest grades with perhaps a great sporting record threw in in the interests of balance. Surely this is too narrow, and even too simplistic a means of measuring success both on a pupil level and a school level. We need to consider the young people as they grow up. While we should recognize the achievements of those with the highest grades, we really must broaden our view of what success means for every individual. We all need to be successful, for ourselves and the people around us. This is as much about what we do, as to why we do it, and how we can all thrive and contribute to the society most positively. Proper Torah education acknowledges that Judaism should not be lived in a vacuum. The Torah and its Commandments are for the real world and are to be practiced in the real world. Indeed, Torah is fulfilled in the best way when it informs one’s interaction with the world and with all of its inhabitants. - The Lowther School Family is very special. Lowther is a unique place of learning because of our wonderfully enthusiastic children, skilled colleagues, committed and supportive families, and community partners. Please come to visit us so that you can experience the atmosphere and see the children’s confidence and enthusiasm for learning. We truly believe in the children having opportunities to thrive in the wider aspects of school life. The school family is committed to providing children with an exciting education where the core subjects are interspersed with art, drama, cooking, ICT, and sport. We want all our pupils to love being at Lowther. The Lowther School Family is thriving and growing. We have exciting times ahead as our school home blossoms and we expect everyone to take pride in keeping it clean, bright, and sparkling. That is why our displays of the children’s work, the garden, and the litter-free grounds are an important contribution to the learning and pastoral care that every school adult is committed to providing for our wonderful children and their families. Lowther Primary School is the best! Everybody gets on well and you have loads of friends. The teachers are friendly and teach excellent lessons. Some of the best things about Lowther are the fun lessons, all the trips we get to go on, the brilliant plays and drama we do, and we've got wicked clubs too. Governors are often called 'critical friends', but we are not directly involved in the day-to-day running of the school. Our role is to build a supportive but challenging relationship with the headteacher, looking at all aspects of children's learning and wellbeing, and taking strategic decisions in the light of objective data. We ensure that policies are in place and are monitored, and work to make the school an inclusive, fair, and healthy place for children to learn and thrive. Governors sit on committees to oversee the school in more detail and report to the full Governing body. Both committees and the full Governing body meet approximately twice a term. Lowther is an inclusive and pastoral school that sets high expectations for all learners, including children with SEND. We aim to provide an environment that celebrates achievements of all kinds and to develop independence and a love for learning. Children with SEND are included in all aspects of school life at Lowther. Lowther offers a wide range of clubs that support a variety of interests and skills. All children are encouraged to explore their interests and to share their talents. We ensure that children with SEND are included in all school learning and activities, and where necessary, reasonable adjustments are made to make this possible. Lowther's team is small, but we can expand it to fit defined needs. The core membership is the Headteacher and a staff representative, plus one LA Governor and 2 parent Governors, who serve for 3 years. The rest of the team is currently made up of 8 co-opted Governors, whose skills fit the set we feel we need, to support and challenge the school effectively. They may serve for up to 4 years or a predetermined project-based term. We are also able to invite people with skills on which we would like to draw for a short or longer period to be Associate Governors. We are very fortunate to have a PTA that is such an integral part of our school community. The PTA has raised thousands of pounds, which has been spent on equipment and resources to enhance our children's education and the school's facilities. Most recently we have paid for fifteen iPads, a 3D printer, a greenhouse, and a workspace in our fabulous allotment. This year we will be buying new outside play equipment and accompanying safety surfaces. Money raised by the PTA also funds school trips for those families who need some extra help. The PTA encourages closer links between home and school and is an excellent way to bring staff, parents, and friends together socially in support of our school. All families are automatically members of the Lowther PTA when their children join our school. We welcome all parents and members of the school community to get involved. Every contribution, big or small, makes a huge difference. The PTA is conscious of the ethos and diversity of our school, and we try very hard when organizing and planning events to respect this. We're always open to new ideas for events or resources needed for the school. Our PTA is a member of the NCPTA, which is a national charity and membership organization providing support and guidance for all home school associations in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Our association is one of over 13,000 members in the current membership of the NCPTA. We pay an annual membership fee to the NCPTA which gives us lots of member benefits including comprehensive insurance cover for all PTA-run events, support and advice on running the PTA plus fundraising ideas, and good practice hints and tips. NCPTA also provides us with the opportunity to meet and communicate with other PTAs to discuss and share experiences. We receive termly publications, which are soon to be displayed on the PTA notice board and we receive guidance to ensure our events are legal and safe. View full school

- Established in 1495, Loughborough Grammar School is one of the UK’s oldest independent schools. We are proud of our long and successful heritage. We delight in those traditions that keep the spirit of the School alive without constraining us from embracing modern-day life. Here at the Grammar School, academic achievement is our central focus, as examination grades open doors. However, our ambition is much broader: Grammar School boys are intellectually curious, self-motivated, and acutely aware of their responsibilities towards others. Skills and attributes developed through the extraordinary range of co-curricular clubs and activities that punctuate every single day. Our boys are equally at home in work and play, and acquire the moral compass they require to become not only successful professionals but perhaps more importantly empathetic colleagues, friends, and partners. We offer single-sex education because we believe that boys focus better on their education and learning in a boys’ only environment. Based on a mixed-sex campus there are plenty of opportunities for boys and girls to interact. They travel to School on the same buses, they enjoy Music and Drama together in our state-of-the-art facilities, and they share common extra-curricular activities such as CCF and academic societies. We equip boys with a broad portfolio of skills that allow them to excel in public examinations and access the top universities and the courses of their choice. More than that, our curriculum trains our boys to be independent learners who love study and have the self-discipline and motivation to aim high and to realize their potential. We have always believed that education is about so much more than what is learned in the classroom and our GREAT Men initiative is drawing together our whole community to talk meaningfully about masculinity. In an era when it can be tough to be a young man, we lead our boys through the maze of adolescence to become good role models who show integrity and judgment. We develop boys’ resilience so that they are equipped to deal with the inevitable disappointments that come their way, and we help them to become more sensitive to the needs of others – open to talk and listen respectfully. Through all seven years with us, we are committed to helping all our boys become GREAT Men. So much more than another department, Loughborough Schools Music is the joyous soundtrack that infuses life at all the Schools within the Foundation. Housed in a purpose-built space, it is a vibrant musical hub with a constant creative buzz. From Pre-Prep to Sixth Form, every pupil has the opportunity, encouragement, and very finest tuition to explore their musical passions, achieve their very best and perform at the highest level. By any measure, facilities are outstanding. We are proud to be the only Schools in the Midlands to have a Music department with ‘All-Steinway School’ status and we have a huge variety of instrumental ensembles and choirs so every pupil gets to ‘strut their stuff on one stage or another. Do come to see and hear us. It is something quite special. Our mission is to prepare young men for a fulfilling life through fostering achievement, aspiration, and empathy. We know boys and how to motivate them. We believe that high expectations are central to their success, helping to foster academic rigor and a love of learning for its own sake. We understand that a sense of achievement is also created through our hugely varied program of extra-curricular activities which enable boys to feel fulfilled and to develop their character, resilience, and teamwork. The following five values underpin a Loughborough Grammar School education: We inspire our students to become intellectually curious, lifelong learners, who have the confidence to be innovative and unafraid of failure. LGS boys grow into healthy young men with a sense of perspective. They are aware of the emotional well-being of others and talk about their concerns. Our students learn to demonstrate good judgment in their decisions. The spirit of Loughborough Grammar School is characterized by constructive relationships between all members of our community based on the core value of treating others as we would like to be treated ourselves. LGS boys understand their responsibilities towards the wider communities in which they live. They develop into engaged citizens with a healthy respect for others and their differences. Our boys leave us as self-disciplined, adaptable leaders who embrace change. They work as a team and celebrate the successes of others. View full school
