Welcome to our school. The life of our happy and successful school, which has been serving the Catholic community in Dollis Hill for 50 years. We believe that the years spent in Primary School are amongst the most important in every child’s education. Therefore, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Junior School, we aim to provide the best possible opportunities and environment for your child to reach his or her potential in all aspects of school life (spiritual, moral, academic, and social). We provide opportunities for parental involvement in the life of the school to encourage real collaboration and cooperation between the Parish, Governors, teachers, parents, and children. At Our Lady of Grace, we expect high standards of conduct from all members of our school community and place considerable emphasis on treating each other with kindness and respect. We have an experienced, well-qualified, committed, and talented teaching staff that allows us to be confident that we can fulfill our promises to our parents and we are well-resourced in terms of books, equipment, and ICT resources. At Our Lady of Grace School, we are committed to helping children learn in many different ways. In addition to classroom-based learning, all year groups have the opportunity to extend their learning during educational visits throughout the year. Some recent examples are visits to Handel House by current year six children to work with musicians and other schools on baroque music, our school choir visited and performed at Wembley in the Brent Music Choir competition and year three visit the London Zoo with great excitement to support their learning about animals. Some children were offered the opportunity to visit Westminster Cathedral for a special Advent Service. We also have very close links with local secondary schools and some of the Year 6 children have recently visited St Gregory's for both Science and Maths lessons. Other opportunities for learning in the community include visits to the Welsh Harp Educational Centre. Throughout the year there are a large number of occasions when individuals or companies are invited into the school for workshops, assemblies, or themed days to further the children's learning. Recent examples include a Tudor day, a Victorian day, a workshop about safety for Years 3 and 4, and a visit from St Josephs Pastoral Centre to coincide with our 'Disability Awareness Week'. Our school should provide a caring, positive, safe, and stimulating environment that promotes the social, physical, and moral development of the individual child. We make every effort to provide a safe and welcoming environment where children are respected and valued and where there is a culture of openness where both children and adults feel able to talk and be listened to. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support and protection. At all times, the welfare of the child is paramount. Whilst the school will work openly with parents, as far as possible. Our Lady of Grace Catholic Junior School is a fully inclusive school that ensures that all pupils achieve their personal, social, emotional, and academic potential in all areas of the curriculum (regardless of their gender, ethnicity, social background, religion, sexual identity, physical ability or educational needs). All pupils at the school are valued and we work hard to ensure that their confidence and belief in themselves is developed through different aspects of school life. Our Lady of Grace Catholic Junior School will address the needs of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Disabilities. It has been written to help parents/carers understand how we will support all our children, including those with SEN and disabilities, to make the best possible progress in school. Our Lady of Grace Catholic Infant School is a voluntary aided Catholic School within the Archdiocese of Westminster, (which, through the Westminster Diocesan Education Service is responsible for the appointment of the Foundation Governors). The school was opened in September 1972 as a two-form entry Infants' School with pupils aged 4 to 7 years. It is designed as a semi-open plan building consisting of three suites. Each suite has one practical area and two classroom bases. The practical areas are used by all the children and provide facilities for cooperative teaching and learning. The Nursery Unit was opened in April 1980 and caters to children who will be 4 years of age during the school year. Attendance is either on a part-time morning or afternoon basis or on a full-time basis for those working parents who qualify for the free nursery childcare grant for 30 hours. There is a maximum of 26 children at each part-time or full-time session. One Teacher and one Nursery Assistant (NNEB) are appointed so that two responsible adults are present at all times, with additional support provided by part-time Support Assistants, Students, and Parents. Our curriculum seeks to:- Recognize that everything we do and teach ultimately relates to our belief in God. Meet the needs of young children through the provision of opportunities for first-hand experience and plenty of practical work. Provide equal access and opportunity for all children regardless of gender or special need. Foster a sense of inquiry and a love of learning, as well as encourage the ability to think for oneself and become an independent learner. Enable children to work collaboratively together, and with adults, forming good social relationships. Ensure the highest levels of achievement for each child according to his/her capabilities, through quality teaching, high expectations, regard for Truth, and making the best possible use of available resources. Welcome to Our Lady of Good Help Catholic Primary School. Our school is a small and friendly one-form entry Catholic primary school situated in the heart of Wavertree, a suburb of Liverpool, and we can track our heritage back over 100 years. We are proud of our children who are eager to learn and our staff, who put care and thought into everything that they do, to help our pupils be the best they can be, and who ensure that each of our children receives an education that meets their strengths and needs. Children can join our school from the start of the term after their fourth birthday, when they enter our newly developed Reception class which is light and airy, with access to the outdoors. Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Primary School is situated in Birmingham Local Authority and was originally built in 1967 to serve the parish children of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Quinton. Since this time it has been developed and extended as a well maintained and calm learning environment, with much recent refurbishment making the school an even more welcoming place to learn and to visit. This allows them to explore their local area, its place within the country, and significant British cities. They also study the Beatles as significant people from Liverpool. In Years 3 and 4, the children learn about early settlers and develop their knowledge about the origins of our nation from the Stone Age through to the Iron Age. The children continue to develop their knowledge and understanding of their local area by comparing our city of Liverpool to different types of settlements in the UK. They also undertake some study about how we can preserve our planet which links to the work of our Eco Committee (who have achieved the Green Flag Award for our school) and Fair Trade Committee. In Years 5 and 6, the children learn about Ancient Greece and begin to appreciate the legacy that Greek civilization has left behind, exploring the concepts of democracy and elections. Children discuss the need to combat discrimination. Through this children explore concepts of tolerance, respect, and individual liberty. OLSM is a Catholic Primary School for children aged 4 to 11 years old. We have 177 children in 7 classes. We offer pupils a quality education within the context of a caring Catholic ethos based on Gospel Values. In partnership with parents who are the first teachers of their children, we encourage and support our pupils to achieve their full potential, whatever their gifts and talents, and to love one another as God loves us. Our ‘Come and See’ (R.E.) and ‘Cornerstones’ (topic) curricula are exciting and engaging for children whilst ensuring that the learning and teaching of basic and key skills are robust. We offer a range of extracurricular activities, many of which take full advantage of our beautiful grounds. We work in partnership with Ladybirds, offering pre-school provision for children aged 2.5 years to school age. We are fortunate to share our site with OLSM Church and so can develop close links with the Parish. School staff works closely with the Parish to ensure that our pupils know they are part of a wider family. Our Lady and St George’s Catholic Primary School and Nursery we opened as a Primary and Nursery School in September 2010 is formed from the amalgamation of St Helen’s Infant and Nursery School and St Mary’s Junior School. Oundle School is one of Britain’s leading co-educational boarding and day schools, situated in the charming market town of Oundle, Northamptonshire. We are a selective school but academic achievement is just one strand of an Oundle education. Oundle is home to 847 boarders and 268-day pupils, which equates to a pupil population of approximately three-quarters full boarding and a quarter day. We have been fully co-educational for thirty years and the ratio of boys to girls has remained constant at 60:40. We are proud to attract pupils from over 120 schools across all corners of the UK, with virtually every county represented. Around twenty percent of our pupils have an overseas country of origin and a further eight percent of pupils are expatriates. We welcome pupils from over thirty different countries and all pupils, whether international or the UK, sit the same entrance papers. In the classroom, our average class size is nineteen up to the GCSE years with a maximum of twenty-four. Our GCSE class size is an average of eighteen with a maximum of twenty-four, and our average A-Level class size is twelve.
