The School, established in 2006, is a small co-educational day school for pupils between 11 and 16 and is situated in one of the largest Boroughs in the UK, the Borough of Hounslow. Nottage Primary is a mixed English –medium primary school for pupils in the age range from 3 – 11. It was established originally in 1873 on the site at present occupied by Somerfield supermarket and was called “The Old National School”. In 1952, after being delayed by the Second World War, the current building was completed, and on June 5th the pupils of the old school assembled for the last time and marched to their new school. At present, the school has a pupil population of 446 pupils with 17 teachers plus the headteacher. The school also has support staff working alongside the class teachers. There are 16 classes arranged in chronological order and the classes are mixed ability. Those pupils who are identified as requiring extra help are given support to meet their individual needs. Our nursery “Nottage Tiddlers” provides part-time and full-time education for children aged 3 – 4 years. Although this is non-statutory education, the nursery is an integral part of our school and these pupils are fully integrated into the life of the school. The school has large playgrounds with plenty of grassed areas which can be enjoyed in fine weather. These can be easily accessed from the main building. Notre Dame High School is a six-year Roman Catholic comprehensive school. Our school community seeks to base its words and actions on the gospel values of service to our neighbor and love of God. We have a range of other initiatives for student leadership which allow students to have input into the strategic planning of the school. A democratic process is in place to ensure fair representation. Northwood has employed extensive safeguarding services for students as part of its commitment to the whole person. They include a pastoral assistant, attendance and welfare officer, counselors, and LSAs. Every student has a Form Tutor and a Year Learning Coordinator who will usually stay with him/her for Years 7 - 11. The Designated Safeguarding Lead is the Deputy Head. Northwold is a large, mixed community school that provides an exciting, supportive and challenging environment that enables all children to reach their highest levels of achievement in all aspects of their school lives. Northwold Primary School is in the Hackney Local Education Authority and we are housed in a four-story late-Victorian listed building – which has been a school for over 104 years. Although the Headteacher manages the school from day to day, it is the governors, as a corporate body, who are legally responsible for the school. We are accountable to parents, the local community, and the local education authority for the performance of the school. The governors are all volunteers and we are not paid for our work. At Northwold a healthy lifestyle and well-being are core components for the values and ethos of the school. We recognize the importance of having a broad and balance PE curriculum and extra-curricular program in improving pupils’ attitude, attainment, and achievement at the highest level. Northwold Primary School is a large school for pupils aged 3-11, located near Hackney. Our Academy is part of the AmayaTrust and caters to over 470 pupils. An Independent Appeals Panel hears any appeals from parents whose child has not been allocated a place at Northwold Primary School, and who appeals by the procedure specified by the Local Authority. The Academy has an admission number of 60 pupils in all year groups and 50 full-time equivalent places will be available in our nursery. Places in the nursery school may be full-time or organized on a part-time basis (morning and afternoons). Details will be provided on the academy website and may vary from time to time. Sufficient notice of arrangements will be given before the annual application. The Academy will accordingly provide for the admission of 60 pupils each year if sufficient applications for entry are received. It is an additional sum to the main school funding and it is to help address national inequalities between the achievements of children eligible for free school meals or children in care and others. The amount granted to each school is based on the number of pupils who are known to be eligible for free school meals or who have been eligible in the last six years. Each school makes its own decisions on how the Pupil Premium is spent since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual students within their responsibility. Schools must publish online information on how they have used the spending. The Full Governing Body meets at least once a term.
