- Selly Park Technology College is known for its high expectations, academic success, first-class education, and its’ innovative approach. Our vision and values underpin all we do. Indeed, everyone who knows us or visits our school speaks of our distinct ethos. At Selly Park Technology College pupils feel valued and parents are welcomed as partners in their daughter’s education. The most effective education is achieved when parents and teachers work together in a genuine partnership which results in all pupils being proud of their achievements and their school. By working together we ensure that all students enjoy their time at school, make excellent progress and leave us as confident learners with the necessary skills and attitudes to lead successful and fulfilling lives. Teaching and learning are at the heart of all we do. We believe that everyone has unique talents and is capable of leading and making contributions to our school, local community, and the wider world. Whilst we provide a broad and balanced curriculum that ensures progression in traditional subjects, we also offer many creative and more practical-based opportunities for our students and staff to explore our diverse world and the people who inhabit it. We recognize the individual contributions and successes of our students and staff as we encourage personal self-worth, leadership, and responsibility. Our positive, encouraging culture carries us on a wave of ambition and excitement. The school ethos is felt as you walk around and meet the staff and pupils everyone feels valued and knows the difference that they make to our school. We retain the benefits of a small school and therefore we can prioritize the individual needs of students. Nevertheless, we have high aspirations and expectations of all our pupils and we aim to help develop, not only academic success but also relationships that are characterized by kindness, tolerance, helpfulness, and respect. We are an 11 to 16 school with approximately 700 pupils. We pride ourselves on keeping pace with educational innovation while promoting the traditional values of self-respect, tolerance, and consideration for others. We retain all the benefits of a small school, with an emphasis on individualized learning, but provide a full, broad, and balanced curriculum. Our mission is to be a Centre of Learning for all members of our community. We recognize that we have achieved much we are not yet at the level we wish to be, but we are committed to continual improvement against our previous best. Our aims are to: Provide for the development of intellectual curiosity, creativity, self-confidence, and self-respect. Create an educational culture that is technological, scientific, vocational, and industrial. Provide for the acquisition of appropriate knowledge, skills, and sound judgment. Foster excellent relationships and discipline based on mutual respect and support for others. Foster the physical and mental well-being of the whole school community. We are proud of the multicultural nature of our school and have a proven track record for promoting community cohesion at local, national, and international levels. Our school exists to provide a stimulating and enriching education for all our pupils. Parents, pupils, and staff all have a vital role to play in creating a positive, happy, and mutually supportive environment in which every individual can develop her potential, both socially and academically. Throughout every student's time at the school, we appreciate that there will be occasions when she will require help and support. This often arises in different forms and we pride ourselves on the quality and range of individual support and guidance we offer. We acknowledge that some students may have Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) the majority of these needs are met through the differentiation that is accessed within the mainstream curriculum and the interventions we offer as part of our personalized curriculum. Occasionally some girls need additional help. The Learning Support Department works with pupils, parents, and external support agencies to ensure those with Additional Needs access the support, help, and guidance they need. View full school

- Selly Oak Trust School is a school for students who have a statement of special educational need and require support to help them access the curriculum and develop into confident young adults. We have the necessary resources and staff expertise to support our students in fulfilling their potential delivered by a strong team dedicated to providing exceptionally good access to education. On average our class sizes are between ten and fourteen. The majority of classes are benefiting from the support of one or more teaching assistants. Depending on need, some students receive targeted tuition in smaller groups and on an individual basis. Where appropriate, there are specific educational and behavior programs for individual students, designed to support the development of the whole young person and enable them to fulfill their potential. “An enjoyable learning community that celebrates equality and the uniqueness of everyone, where students aspire, thrive, and achieve the qualifications and skills for life that they need to become independent adults and lead a quality life.”To give every young person a challenging and appropriate curriculum that exploits their skills and talents at the same time as addressing their core academic and social learning needs. We will achieve this by: Having a flexible, imaginative, and creative curriculum that is tailored to the needs of our young people. Using the world outside the classroom to provide greater experiential learning opportunities. Consistently apply systems that develop the young person’s understanding of appropriate behavior. Rewarding and celebrating achievement and positive behaviors. Providing mentoring and other support required to enable the young person to access the curriculum. Having an active student voice that influences developments within the school. This can only be achieved by empowering our staff team to be creative, imaginative, and solution-focused. Our team will work collaboratively, have an open mind to new ideas and ways of working, and will work with all stakeholders for the benefit of our young people. Our curriculum meets the requirements of the National Curriculum for all our students. We provide regular assessments throughout the core subjects of English, Maths, Science, Physical Education, Skills for Life, Design Technology, and Information Technology to provide informed targets and ensure students are developing to their full potential. The Sixth Form at Selly Oak Trust School is intended to be a transitional stage, within a supportive environment, between the school context and adult life, including leisure, college, training, and the world of work. The Sixth Form aims to prepare young people to take advantage of the opportunities available to them beyond school through further development of their academic skills, personal skills, and work-related and enterprise skills. Considerable emphasis is placed on liaison with students, parents, and outside agencies. Where appropriate, students are expected to take on increasing degrees of personal responsibility and to develop and demonstrate appropriate organizational skills. The school offers a broad Post-16 curriculum, including a range of accredited subjects, and an extensive range of vocational qualifications. View full school

- Welcome to Sellincourt Primary School. We are committed to respect and value the rights of others and encourage self-belief. We promote consideration, compassion, honesty, and trust whilst developing responsible and independent learners. We have high expectations of our children and are committed to each child reaching their full potential. The Governors and staff of Sellincourt Primary School fully recognize the responsibilities and duty placed upon them to have arrangements to safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils at the school. We recognize that all staff, including volunteers, have a full and active part to play in protecting pupils from harm. Our Values are: Respect: to encourage children's respect and tolerance for human rights, as well as respect for their parents and the environment. Equality: to foster a regard for justice and equality, to be considerate, and act responsibly. Trust/Honesty: to earn and build trust so that we can work and learn co-operatively, share ideas but be individuals together. Responsibility: to encourage children to understand that for people to have rights, we have responsibilities to ensure that we do not harm others or ourselves and that we take responsibility for our actions. Kindness: to treat others with compassion. At Sellincourt we are committed to providing an education to equip our children for the future. For our children to be the best that they can be, we believe that they need to grow up knowing and understanding their rights, as laid down by the UN Convention for the Rights of the Child. Growing up with this awareness will mean that our children will gain a greater respect for themselves, for others, and for the world in which they live, and become active citizens who have a voice and strive to be heard. The DfE have recently reinforced the need ‘to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote fundamental British values.’ These should form part of the SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social, and Cultural) education. The Government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 ‘Prevent’ Strategy, and these values were reiterated in November 2014. They are defined as democracy, the rule of law, equality of opportunity, freedom of speech, and the rights of all men and women to live free from persecution of any kind. We believe that these are fundamental values and at Sellincourt we draw on the rich diversity of our community to help children understand and appreciate the wide range of cultural influences that have shaped modern Britain and how these values can be promoted. We encourage all children to be tolerant and respectful of each other's rights to hold differing faiths and beliefs and reinforce Democracy. Sellincourt Primary School is committed to providing a broad and balanced education within a secure and safe environment. We believe in using the curriculum as a tool for broadening horizons and offer a creative curriculum ensuring the best possible progress for all our pupils. Our educational aims for children with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities are the same as these for all children in school. More Able pupils are identified within school and provision is adapted to meet their needs. As a community-based primary school, we follow the statutory 2014 national curriculum. We follow the national frameworks for English and Mathematics. To raise the profile of reading and writing, we expose pupils to a wide range of rich texts. These are used as a stimulus for speaking and listening and reading and writing. We emphasize the importance of talk in pairs and small groups throughout the school. Key writing and reading skills are taught in daily English sessions. The White Rose Maths Hub scheme is used to support planning in mathematics. This allows children to achieve fluency and depth in their learning. During the year, pupils are given opportunities to perform and present their learning in a variety of contexts and for different purposes such as class assemblies to which parents and families are invited. We employ an integrated thematic approach to teaching subjects through engaging topics that give children a rich context for exploring subject areas. (Detailed curriculum maps are set out in each year groups). Art and design are linked to each topic through a painting or sculpture allowing children to learn about different periods in art and particular artists as well as developing art skills. We are fortunate to have an in-house artist who works three days a week in school and who facilitates class lessons. We also work closely with other artists and galleries throughout the year. - We are a large (3 form entry), a spacious school with an outstanding team of dedicated professionals who passionately ensure that all of our 600+ pupils succeed. Committed, hardworking and caring, all staff - including our talented Governors - have high expectations of our pupils and each other: we want to prepare children for the next stage of their education and empower them to contribute in their communities, outside of school. Our school motto is to ‘Inspire and Achieve’ and we live and believe this through our motivational ‘You Can Do It’ PSHE program which promotes our school values. This complements our outstanding curriculum: one which is relevant and real to our pupils and teaches them independence and thinking skills, alongside the knowledge. Pupils at Selborne are at ease with staff and their peers who come from a multiplicity of cultures and backgrounds. We respect others’ views and seek to understand others’ beliefs. Our reinforcement of common, shared British Values fosters this further. A warm welcome awaits you at Selborne. Come and see how outstanding we are and what we can offer your child. Selborne Primary School’s Keys to Success: Respect: At Selborne, all individuals are respected regardless of race, faith, physical ability, gender, language, age, culture, or sexual orientation. Persistence: We learn through our mistakes, maintain a positive attitude regardless of any differences, and support others to do so. Organization: We prepare ourselves and help others to be ready for every stage of our physical and emotional development. We organize ourselves so that we are prepared for every learning and social opportunity. Confidence: All individuals should have a positive image of themselves: physically, emotionally, and academically. As a school community, we are always positive about each other and help those who struggle with issues of self-esteem. We have confidence in who we are and where we belong. Getting along: We learn to empathize with and support others. We try to get along with everyone in our community. Resilience: We always try to learn from our mistakes and move forward to new challenges with a positive attitude. We want everyone at Selborne School to the absolute best for all our children, where: Learning is fun Everyone is encouraged to reach their potential We respect and treat each other fairly We feel valued as part of the community Selborne Primary has recently expanded from two forms to three forms of entry. We are located in the center of the Medway estate in Perivale with easy access to Perivale tube and numerous bus routes. We are most fortunate to have a large site that includes extensive grounds where we promote participation in a variety of sports and outdoor learning. There is a centrally located quad garden and wildlife pond that provides a quiet area in the heart of our building. A recent development has given us several raised beds that make up our allotment. Children grow their vegetables and fruit and then use the produce in cooking with the surplus being sold to the kitchen or parents. We aim to maximize children’s achievement by removing barriers to learning through a varied inclusive curriculum delivered in a safe, stimulating environment. As a primary school, we believe we have a key role in society in combating discrimination and promoting fairness, justice, and equality through our teaching and in the role models we offer. We believe in our motto “Inspire and Achieve” and encourage all pupils, staff, parents/carers, and the community to become actively involved in providing the best learning experiences for our children. Like other state schools in England, we follow the national curriculum which was made mandatory from September 2014. As well as specific content, we ensure our curriculum is tailored to our community as well as providing opportunities for our children to thrive in their learning. View full school

- We are a school for 11-to-18-year-olds with high standards and high expectations for all members of our community – students and teachers. At Sedgehill, we are committed to ensuring that teaching and learning are of the highest quality so that all students can achieve their potential. We provide an engaging and challenging curriculum designed to stretch and challenge all of our students to achieve their goals – to gain the grades required by top universities, or to win places on high-quality apprentice schemes, or whatever other individual goals they may have. Students with additional needs receive specialist support from our experienced inclusion team. We are fortunate to benefit from state-of-the-art facilities in performing arts and physical education and are committed to broadening the extracurricular experience of our students. Sports, music, dance, drama, art, and Duke of Edinburgh clubs run regularly at lunch and after school. We are particularly proud to be part of the Andrew Lloyd Webber program, under which all Year 7 students receive a violin and are taught how to play it. From September 2017, we will be working in partnership with the United Learning group – a group of schools that aims to provide excellent education to children and young people across the country. As the new executive headteacher and headteacher, we bring many years of experience in how to make rapid improvements in London schools, both in United Learning schools and elsewhere. We will bring all that experience to bear at Sedgehill. We Shall Achieve This Through: Providing the highest quality education for all students underpinned by excellent teaching which ensures all students make progress Delivering a broad and balanced curriculum that equips students with the knowledge and skills to be successful in modern Britain Challenging staff and students to reach the highest possible standards through effective leadership at all levels Motivating students and staff to become part of a vibrant and exciting school community by providing opportunities for all to succeed. Sedgehill school has an obligation under section 78 of the Education Act (2002) which requires all schools, as part of a broad and balanced curriculum, to promote the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural (SMSC) development of students at the school. This includes actively promoting British values. We are very proud of Sedgehill School as we feel our school values are a true reflection of fundamental British values. We aim to ensure that our students become valuable and fully rounded members of society who treat others with respect and tolerance, regardless of background, and leave school fully prepared for life in modern Britain. - Seaton House School was founded in 1930 and has grown and thrived over the past 85 years. We are a member of IAPS, the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools, and are regulated by the ISI the Independent Schools Inspectorate. We are a small, friendly, and nurturing school with a keen eye on the academic, sporting, and artistic accomplishments of our pupils. We strive to bring out the best each girl can be and celebrate her achievements both at school and in extra-curricular pursuits. Year on year, we are hugely proud of the successes of our Form VI leavers as they embark on their senior school careers. Confident young ladies, well prepared to face new and exciting challenges having benefited from, what we believe to be, simply the best of starts in their education. We aim to provide a thorough educational grounding for all our pupils in a secure, disciplined but friendly, and caring school society. From the children joining us as rising three years old into our Nursery, through to our senior girls in Form VI, we are committed to ensuring each child receives the best we can offer to grow and flourish during their time at Seaton House. Our highly qualified and dedicated teaching staff, whether it be in the Nursery, Junior House or Senior House, strive to create a stimulating teaching environment where small class sizes ensure all our children have the necessary individual attention and encouragement to achieve their full potential. Character development and pastoral care are also top priorities within the school setting. All members of staff, take a keen interest in supporting girls as they learn essential life skills to become happy, successful, and confident adults. Courtesy, respect, kindness, and tolerance of others are expected as the norm and we encourage our pupils to develop initiative, independence, self-discipline, and pride in all that they do. We thoroughly prepare our older girls for a smooth, confident transition to their chosen Senior School. We have a Special Needs Policy that is in line with the Government’s Code of Practice. The main objectives of this policy are to improve the quality of learning experiences for all pupils at Seaton House School and to establish an agreed range of practices about the identification and support of pupils with special educational needs. Girls who are experiencing difficulties with their learning receive additional support which includes the provision of differentiated material and tasks within the classroom and withdrawal from class to one-to-one or small group sessions where appropriate. Parents are consulted on their child’s program of learning and are kept regularly informed of their progress using reports, parents’ evenings, and informal meetings. At Seaton House, we offer a wide range of clubs and activities that take place either at lunchtime or after school. Some of these clubs are run by members of staff and others involve outside organizations who come into school every week to run their activity. A charge is made for attending these clubs and applications to either join or continue with an activity are offered to the girls on a termly basis. The clubs we run vary from year to year depending on their popularity and we are always looking at new and exciting opportunities we think the girls will enjoy. View full school

- We are very proud that, whilst we are three separate Schools – Prep, Senior, and Sixth Form – we are most definitely one College. Each School has its dedicated member of staff heading it, with Headmaster John Green overseeing all three Schools and the College as a whole. Students are treated differently at each stage of their life at Seaford, to reflect their changing needs, but they also benefit from being part of the wider community. Prep School students benefit from the fantastic facilities of the Senior School, having specialist teachers in core subjects and mentoring from older students. In the Senior School, students take part in two Carousels – a Creative Carousel and an Academic Carousel – before choosing their GCSE options, allowing them to make informed decisions about the subjects that interest them the most. Students moving from our Senior School to the Sixth Form have great continuity, with their teachers helping them to choose A-Level subjects that may help them with any particular career or university aims. We also ensure that students in our Sixth Form are given greater independence and responsibilities, creating an environment to help prepare them for university and life beyond school, including a separate boarding house for Year 13s. Each School truly benefits from being part of the wider Seaford community, which we are proud to say is a happy and healthy one. We are a genuinely warm, friendly school with excellent teaching and learning across all departments. Alongside our strong academic core, we offer world-class pastoral care and an impressive program of extra-curricular activities that are always growing. Our students truly benefit from our beautiful setting, whether training on our first-class sports facilities, having a music lesson on the terraces, or taking our pastoral dog for a walk. Unlike many schools, Seaford College has a flexible boarding program, designed to suit family life. Weekly boarding is a popular choice students can devote themselves to their studies during the week so that they can spend precious time at home with parents and siblings at the weekends. There is no Saturday school, but we do offer a range of clubs and activities on Saturdays as well as sporting fixtures. A family atmosphere in the Prep School ensures our younger students feel safe and secure away from home, while our highly successful peer mentoring scheme means there is always someone for students to turn to in times of trouble. Above all, Seaford College is a close-knit community where students are nurtured and encouraged to make the most of every opportunity on offer to them. View full school

- Our aims are: To promote a wide range of creative experiences which enable children to make full use of their imaginations To promote, facilitate and enable the inclusion of children with disabilities and special educational needs To provide an environment that is safe, supportive, and caring To provide a broad and balanced curriculum that is differentiated to match teaching to pupils’ needs To enable the acquisition of skills, knowledge, and understanding which will be of use to all future learning To develop lively and enquiring minds through encouraging children to question and discuss issues, to make informed decisions To nurture self-esteem so children are motivated to learn and to develop an ability to co-operate and work with others To recognize, respect, and celebrate individual religious and cultural values and to celebrate the rich diversity within our multi-faith community To promote positive attitudes, good behavior, and moral understanding, and to establish a sense of pride and achievement in being part of our school community To work in full partnership with parents To ensure equal opportunities are addressed throughout all aspects of the school day At Scott Wilkie, we help each child achieve her/his maximum potential. To do this, we believe in creating a positive and secure environment in which children learn that good manners, respect, and consideration for others are extremely important. We encourage children to become more self-confident, mature, and independent. We also encourage them to recognize the important contribution they have to make to the life of the school. At Scott Wilkie Primary School, we aim to enable all children, including those with Special Educational Needs to enjoy a well-balanced and broad curriculum. We pride ourselves in supporting pupils to develop their confidence, independence, and a positive self-esteem in a secure and caring environment. As part of their education, children are often taken on trips or visits. These will be to museums, galleries, and places of interest and relate directly to the work the children are doing in school and the National Curriculum. They provide valuable knowledge and experience that the children will need. They may be at the beginning of a half term to “spark things off”, or at the end to consolidate the work that has been done. You may rest assured that these trips are well planned and properly supervised. Without parents volunteering to help on these trips, they cannot take place. View full school

- School 21 is a pioneering new 4 to 18 school in Stratford, East London, for children from all backgrounds. The three founders of School 21 Peter Hyman, Oli de Botton, and Ed Fidoe came together with a shared belief that education must be done differently if we are to prepare young people properly for the world they are going into. Their conviction was that we needed schools to rebalance head (academic success), heart (character and well-being), and hand (generating ideas, problem-solving, making a difference). So School 21 has developed a series of pedagogies and approaches that give students the chance to find their voice, develop deep knowledge and understanding, and create beautiful work that has real value beyond the classroom. We believe that organizations should have a moral purpose if they are to succeed. We have strong values that guide the actions of both staff and students and make us a strong community. At School 21, we offer Small class sizes. One-to-one coaching and personal support for every child. Academic focus with extra lessons in English and Maths to secure the basics. A unique speaking curriculum to develop the oral skills of every child. A focus on well-being, grit, and emotional resilience so that children can cope with whatever is thrown at them. Real-world learning with hands-on projects where students have the chance to create beautiful work and exhibit it to the public. Extraordinary teachers who are skilled at their job, collaborate in new ways and go the extra mile for each child. At School 21, every student in secondary starts the week with 50 professionalism points. Students lose points for unprofessional behavior – for lateness, for lack of homework, for disrupting the learning of other students – and cannot get them back again. We celebrate the large number of students who retain all of their points throughout the week – and, every Monday, each student gets another chance to show their professionalism. We spend longer than most other schools on reading, writing, and maths because these are essential building blocks that must be mastered. We are preparing students for the 21st century by teaching STEM subjects, creative art, and design, as well as digital skills. With our English language specialism, we want every student to become a fluent writer, an avid reader, and an eloquent speaker. We encourage our students to become T- Thinkers. That means breadth as well as the depth of knowledge. Students will have a little knowledge about a lot of different subject areas so they can make connections. But they will also become very knowledgeable and, over time, an expert in a few subject disciplines. Schoolwork can easily become bitty, disconnected, and unvalued something that is completed, handed in, receives a mark – and then is forgotten about. We think that if you want to produce really good work, you have to return to that first draft, look at it again and consider how to make it better. You have to go through many, many drafts of the same piece of work. This takes dedication, time, and stamina. Students learn to make constructive criticism of each other’s work and receive high-quality feedback from teachers on everything they produce. They put this into practice as they draft, critique and draft again. Responding constructively to criticism is a valuable skill in itself but, when applied to school work, it has amazing potential. We’ve seen some incredible, exponential improvements in single pieces of work as students respond to what others say. Critiquing others’ work makes students better at analyzing what makes their work successful. No work is ever really finished and the purpose of a task isn’t simply to be given a mark. Students learn to produce the best work they can and the reward comes from achieving excellence. Young people need to be able to talk in a range of settings and styles, using a wide vocabulary with fluency. Speaking is as important as reading, writing, and maths. We want our school to prepare students for using spoken language as well as teaching them to be brilliant writers and avid readers. Good oral communication skills are at the top of every employer's list, but in an average lesson in an inner-city school, an individual student speaks fewer than four words. Students don’t just need these skills to get a job, but in their lives today as well, both inside and outside the classroom. View full school

Good oral communication skills are at the top of every employer's list, but in an average lesson in an inner-city school, an individual student speaks fewer than four words. Students don’t just need these skills to get a job, but in their lives today as well, both inside and outside the classroom.
- We are a thriving boarding and day school, steeped in history, in a beautiful location, enjoying proximity to the North York Moors, the Wolds, and the Yorkshire Coast. At Scarborough College, we believe that all pupils have hidden talents, and through our exciting curriculum, your child will be inspired to discover a love of learning, develop a ‘can-do attitude, and become the best possible version of themselves. We offer an outstanding education in a climate of aspiration, from the Pre School at 3 years old, through GCSEs and the International Baccalaureate Diploma at Sixth Form, as well as offering an exceptional range of co-curricular activities. Our nationally recognized Yorkshire Grit program is a vital part of the curriculum designed to ensure that pupils are challenged beyond the classroom and become resilient, collaborative, compassionate, and adventurous individuals. The recent inspection report emphasizes that Scarborough College is a family our staff is committed to providing an individualized journey for every pupil. Scarborough College’s pupils are assigned to the four Academic Houses: Armstrong, Cooper, Crews, and Hornby. All four houses were named after former Headmasters of both Scarborough College and Bramcote Prep School. Pupils – and even members of staff – can collect points for their House by representing their House in sporting fixtures, subject quizzes, and even lip sync battles. Pupils receive an Academic House badge in the color of their house and they form an essential part of the school uniform. We believe that by representing an Academic House, pupils will feel a sense of belonging to a group that is bigger than their classroom or year group but it is also a great way to foster an enjoyable competitive spirit around the school. Lastly, it creates a vital bridge in connecting Day pupils and Boarders, providing especially students new to the College an immediate sense of identity. The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a two-year program aimed at Sixth Form students in Years 12 and 13. The program provides an internationally accepted qualification for entry into higher education and is recognized by thousands of universities worldwide. As an IB school, Scarborough College is accredited to teach the IBDP to its Sixth Form students. There is more to Scarborough College than the academic journey. There is more than one classroom. From the holiday club for pupils in the Prep School to the Enrichment Programmes and Yorkshire Grit for pupils in the Senior School, life at SC is a world of discovery and adventure.
