Job DescriptionHelp us build the software stack underneath Frontier AI & Robotics: the layer between hardware and the AI policies running on it. You’ll work end-to-end across the stack, from bringing up sensors and actuators at the HW/SW boundary, to hardening the multi-process runtime that ties them together, to shipping the framework changes that let the rest of the team move faster. This is a generalist role with a real systems edge. We need someone equally at home down at the sensor and OS boundary (drivers, IPC, real-time behavior, profiling) and up in robotics application code (most of it Python). You’ll spend stretches of a few days to a few weeks each on things like bringing up a new sensor at the protocol layer, chasing a flaky USB camera at the kernel boundary, generalizing the camera stack, cutting perception latency, porting code onto edge compute, or chasing a DDS/ROS 2 performance regression. You’ll work with sharp, motivated engineers across hardware, ML research, controls, and ops on continuously changing problems at the frontier of AI and robotics. The role rewards engineers who communicate clearly, invest in cross-team relationships, and ship. Key job responsibilities- Bring up and integrate sensors, actuators, and edge compute across diverse robotics hardware platforms. - Build and improve the multi-process Python and ROS 2 runtime: process management, IPC, observability, lifecycle. - Diagnose and fix bottlenecks across the stack: middleware performance (DDS, ROS 2), perception pipeline latency, edge inference throughput, system-level resource contention. - Generalize one-off solutions into reusable infrastructure (camera stacks, telemetry pipelines, edge deployment tooling) that scales across hardware platforms and use cases. - Port code onto the constrained edge-compute platforms our robots run. Make it work, then make it work well. - Identify gaps in the team’s velocity, whether that’s a missing piece of infrastructure or a fragile sensor that nobody has time to fix, and close them. - Make proper tradeoffs between prototyping and production software.About the teamAt Frontier AI & Robotics, we're not just advancing robotics – we're reimagining it from the ground up. Our team is building the future of intelligent robotics through frontier foundation models and end-to-end learned systems. We tackle some of the most challenging problems in AI and robotics, from developing sophisticated perception systems to creating adaptive manipulation strategies that work in complex, real-world scenarios. What sets us apart is our unique combination of ambitious research vision and practical impact. We leverage Amazon's massive computational infrastructure and rich real-world datasets to train and deploy state-of-the-art foundation models. Our work spans the full spectrum of robotics intelligence – from multimodal perception using images, videos, and sensor data, to sophisticated manipulation strategies that can handle diverse real-world scenarios. We're building systems that don't just work in the lab, but scale to meet the demands of Amazon's global operations.Join us if you're excited about pushing the boundaries of what's possible in robotics, working with world-class researchers, and seeing your innovations deployed at unprecedented scale. Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent- 5+ years of software development experience- Experience with C++/Python interop or other hybrid-language stacks.- Experience as a tech lead, mentor, or technical owner of an engineering team or significant component. Experience designing and shipping software systems that run across distributed processes, edge devices, or real-time constraints.- Experience working closely with hardware, ML, or controls teams as the software counterpart. Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with low-level driver work and sensor bring-up across protocols (I2C, SPI, USB, MIPI, CAN).- Experience optimizing data plane performance: DDS tuning, kernel networking, shared memory IPC, real-time scheduling.- Experience with ROS 2 or other robotics middleware in production.- Experience deploying ML inference at the edge under latency and memory constraints.- Experience with multi-process Python lifecycles and writing performant Python (asyncio, multiprocessing, NumPy/JAX vectorization, GIL-aware design).- Web application or full-stack web experience is a bonus.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Los Angeles County applicants: Job duties for this position include: work safely and cooperatively with other employees, supervisors, and staff; adhere to standards of excellence despite stressful conditions; communicate effectively and respectfully with employees, supervisors, and staff to ensure exceptional customer service; and follow all federal, state, and local laws and Company policies. For more information regarding security clearances please visit (https://www.agsva.gov.au/). The AWS Region Services team combines AWS global cloud leadership with Australian security expertise to deliver highly secure, scalable environments for sensitive workloads. We’re creating innovative ways to use cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning while maintaining the highest standards of security and operational excellence. The Engineering organisation within Region Services is structured across core capability pillars: Compute & Machine Learning, Security Identity & Compliance, Storage & Databases, and a growing capability domain. Collectively these pillars encompass a team of varying technical skillsets, including Engineers; Technical Program Managers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), organised into focused sub-teams. This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on Australia’s digital future. You’ll work with AWS services, implement innovative solutions, and help customers succeed in their most important missions. We’re committed to helping our builders grow through continuous learning, mentoring, and collaboration with industry experts. Are you ready to build the future of secure cloud computing in Australia? Key job responsibilities- Define and/or refine hardware requirements, participate in the development and delivery of operability-related features such as system health monitoring, diagnostics, repair, and other self-healing automation- Develop or further existing application and system management tools and processes that reduce manual efforts and increase overall efficiency- Adapt and improve operations management systems and processes to accommodate rapid and increasing growth in systems and traffic- Participate in the design and execution of production acceptance tests and new hardware evaluations- Monitor the health of the fleet, automating system health, maintenance tasks, and reporting systems as needed- Participate in “on-call” rotations to resolve incidents occurring out-of-hours.- Must be an Australian Citizen and hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance (see https://www.agsva.gov.au)A day in the lifeYour morning begins with a fleet health review — scanning dashboards you've built, checking automated alerts, and confirming that overnight self-healing routines performed as expected. A quick stand-up with your sub-team surfaces a capacity threshold approaching in one of the compute clusters. You pull up the growth projections and begin sketching an automation enhancement that will handle the scaling gracefully.Mid-morning, you're deep in code. Today it's refining a diagnostic tool that identifies degraded hardware components before they impact workloads. You test against real fleet telemetry, iterate on detection thresholds, and push a change that will save hours of manual investigation across the team. After lunch, you join a hardware evaluation session. A new server platform is being assessed for production readiness, and your role is to design acceptance test criteria — thermal performance under load, firmware compatibility, integration with existing monitoring frameworks. Your input directly determines whether this hardware earns its place in the fleet.Late afternoon brings a collaborative design review. A colleague proposes a new approach to automated repair workflows, and you offer feedback drawn from patterns you've observed in incident data. The discussion is rigorous, respectful, and energising — this is a team that sharpens each other. Before you wrap up, you check in on a long-running automation project — a self-healing pipeline that's reduced manual intervention by 40% since you deployed it last quarter. You note a few edge cases to address tomorrow and log off knowing that tonight, the fleet will largely take care of itself. Because you built it that way.About the teamRegion Services provides the highest caliber Operational Solutions and Cleared Support for services within our Regions. We are seeking a Senior Program Manager to support Prime Video International's paid media team across Europe, Latin America, and Canada — specifically the media managers who plan and buy media. The role has two parts. First, you will improve how financial operations work — automating manual processes like invoicing, budget tracking, and reconciliation, moving tasks to offshore teams, and building tools so media managers spend less time on financial admin and more time on decisions. With new AI products emerging, there is opportunity to rethink how these processes work, not just improve them incrementally. Second, you will manage media vendor relationships to ensure we get the best value from our spend — renegotiating contracts, identifying savings, and testing new commercial models with partners. You will work across media operations, technology, and finance teams to deliver both. You will be goaled on tangible outcomes: reducing media rates, saving hours for media managers, securing credits and additional savings from vendors, and maintaining on-time payment rates. The metrics are clear and the impact is measurable. Prime Video International recently merged its regional media operations into one organisation covering 20+ countries. There is a foundation in place, but plenty of runway — processes need to be aligned across markets, new ones need to be built, and the tooling is ready to be pushed further. To be successful in this role you will have a mix of strategic vision and proven program management expertise, as well as be comfortable embracing ambiguity in a complex financial environment. Your ability to quickly understand business context and priorities, together with your analytical and problem-solving mindset, will enable you to deliver measurable impact across both operational and commercial initiatives. You are able to simplify complex financial concepts and technical requirements, establishing robust frameworks that accelerate decision-making and provide clarity. Job DescriptionWhat happens when you combine startup speed with Amazon-scale impact? You get this team. Amazon Enterprise Security Products is a newly launched group building intelligent, cloud-agnostic security tools using AI-first development practices. Here, you build AI and you build with AI — at the same time. This is not a traditional SDE role. It's a chance to shape the future of security tooling with a small, fast team that ships like a startup and deploys like Amazon.Key job responsibilities* Design, build, and ship AI-powered security products: Own the full lifecycle from architecture through production deployment of large-scale, multi-tiered distributed systems that protect AWS Customers. Leverage agentic AI development practices to accelerate every phase.* Engineer end-to-end, full-stack experiences: Build across the entire stack with intuitive front-end interfaces, robust back-end services and REST APIs, and intelligent middleware. Deploy on AWS while designing for cloud-agnostic, multi-cloud environments so customers are protected wherever they operate.* What you build: Design and implement the intelligent systems customers interact with — agentic architectures, conversational interfaces, and automation workflows that make AI-first security real at scale.* How you build: Use AI tools and techniques (established and experimental) to write, test, review, and ship code faster. Multiplying your own velocity, quality, and creative output across greenfield and brownfield projects.* Plan, estimate, and drive delivery: Lead implementation planning, effort estimation, and phased rollouts across systems and operations; you own outcomes with the autonomy and accountability expected in a high-trust startup environment.* Prototype rapidly and innovate relentlessly: Validate hypotheses with customers, iterate quickly, and bring a builder's mindset every day. The best idea wins here regardless of where it comes from.* Partner across disciplines: Work directly with security researchers, applied scientists, product managers, and UX designers to shape product direction and turn customer needs into technical solutions. Small team means short lines between you and the decision.* Own operational excellence: Participate in on-call rotations, drive root-cause analysis, and continuously raise the bar on reliability, performance, and security of the systems you build. You ship it, you run it..* Elevate the team — and yourself: Contribute to technical reviews, mentor teammates, and champion AI-first development practices. You'll build the engineering culture of a fast-growing team from the ground floor, and in the process become the kind of engineer who has shaped a product, scaled an organization, and defined how modern security software gets built.A day in the lifeNo two days look the same on this fast growing, AI first development team. You might start your morning reviewing output from overnight agentic coding sessions, then dive into building a RAG pipeline or designing APIs that connect intelligent interfaces to real time threat data across multiple clouds. After lunch, you join a design session with senior and principal engineers where your ideas carry weight regardless of title. You own features end to end, ship using the latest AI assisted development workflows, and see your work reach production fast. This is where builders thrive.About the teamAmazon Enterprise Security Products is built by builders who tackle challenges others might consider too ambitious.
