  2. Trinity International University-Florida are regional sites of Trinity International University, Deerfield, Illinois. The Miami-Dade location was established in 1993 following a close relationship with Miami Christian College. The Florida sites offer undergraduate and graduate degree programs represented by three schools of the university – Trinity College, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and Trinity Graduate School. Trinity has a rich legacy that reaches back to the end of the 19th century beginning as a Bible Institute. It is the result of the merger of two Scandinavian immigrant church groups, who began schools to train their ministers and missionaries. The two groups were the Norwegian-Danish Free Church Association and the Swedish Evangelical Free Church of America. Since 1897, Trinity has flourished through many transitions. The latest transition occurred in January 1995 when Trinity College and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois and Trinity College in Miami, Florida united to become Trinity International University. The entire university is international and committed to serving the global church. Trinity offers students an international vision in a world that is increasingly independent and enrolls students from over forty countries on all our campuses. Trinity’s special mission is to do that which the great Western universities have ceased to do — provide excellence in academics as well as preparation for ministry and professions — all within the context of a Christian worldview and a Christian community. At Trinity International University-Florida we are committed to the same vision with which we were founded in 1897 and determined to follow in the footsteps of the great universities that were founded on the cornerstone belief that all wisdom lies in Jesus Christ. Our task, if we are to be salt in the world of our day, is to build institutions where we can think like Christians and learn to live as Christians in a culture in which both have become equally hard. Whether preparing to be pastors or missionaries or attorneys, teachers, counselors, scientists, corporate leaders, homemakers or public servants, whatever our calling under God, we need excellence in education, grounded in the lordship of Jesus Christ. That is the goal and task of Trinity International University. Trinity educates men and women to engage in God’s redemptive work in the world by cultivating academic excellence, Christian faithfulness, and lifelong learning. At the heart of Trinity’s mission lies its commitment to engage the culture for Jesus Christ. Trinity’s purpose is to enable its graduates—in all schools and in every discipline—to think and live like Christians in the twenty-first century. We believe that God calls his people into many kinds of the services Trinity’s calling is to prepare them to serve for his glory. We offer the rigorous academics Trinity International University is known for, at a location and pace that is convenient for your busy life. Whether you want to finish your Bachelor’s degree, or are eager to begin a Master’s degree, TIU Florida has a program that will enrich your life, career, and walk with God. Therefore, St. Andrew's offers students a disciplined academic environment along with an opportunity to grow and experience God in a real way. In our classes, teachers challenge students to excel spiritually, academically, artistically, physically, socially, and emotionally. All students are expected to follow the school code of conduct, which directs and leads students to live a life of service, tolerance, and respect. Since 1983, students from Victoria and surrounding areas and worldwide have achieved success by attending St. Andrew's Regional High School. Our commitment to learning means we believe in our students, and we insist on hard work. We instill a sense of pride and teach our students to be independent thinkers. We start with passionate teachers who specialize in their teaching areas. St. Andrew's offers a faith-based education alongside the pursuit of academic excellence. Our students continue to develop their relationship with God daily. Academically, students and staff of St. Andrew's recognize that to achieve success in an ever-developing global context, acquiring fundamental learning is imperative to developing 21st-century skills. These will be the skills that prepare our students for today's world, across all careers. St. Andrew's opened its doors in 1983, but its traditions can be traced to the 19th century when St. Louis College, a Catholic school for boys aged six to fifteen, was located on Pandora Avenue. The philosophy of Catholic education that permeated the core values of the College remains at St. Andrew's. Today, we are a co-educational school of 400 students in Grades 8 through 12, and religious education classes remain a vital facet of our school. Students learn about faith, the Sacraments, their prayer life, the Bible, and contemporary issues. Each year, religious retreats occur across grade levels. Students often say that the retreats are one of the highlights of their year at school. Teachers at St. Andrew's are of various and accomplished educational backgrounds. They take pride in their daily interactions with students, assisting them in their academic and spiritual journey. We endeavor to offer a holistic education to each student at St. Andrew's, aimed at nurturing body, mind, spirit, and emotion. As always, To Build in Love continues to be our mandate. In addition to our faith-based academic programs, we offer a range of athletic programs and extra-curricular activities. We encourage all of our students to participate in order to enrich their school experience further. St. Andrew's is proud of all its students. Our graduates have left our halls to make their way in the world. They have done so with aplomb, distinguishing themselves as leaders in many professions and significant contributors to society. We are delighted to call them alumni. Our reputation is one where all students will interact with God's teachings and be challenged, through a rigorous and comprehensive program of studies, to do the very best they can. If you can't "walk the talk" when it comes to increasingly competitive university entrance requirements, you might as well go home early. At St. Andrew's, superior academics is a huge part of what we do. We prepare students emotionally and intellectually so they can excel at post-secondary studies. Our commitment to learning means we believe in our students, and we insist on hard work. We instill a sense of pride and teach our students to be independent thinkers. We start with passionate teachers who specialize in their teaching areas. We recognize that not everyone learns in the same way or at the same speed, so we keep our class sizes small and encourage a dialogue that keeps everyone involved. Student Services at St. Andrew's is committed to understanding student needs, informing and guiding, and assisting all individuals in finding their road to success. Serving as the "heart center of St. Andrew's" our staff is geared toward providing exceptional services in the areas of educational, post-secondary, and career counseling. 9. Those words suggest a belief in something beyond our capabilities and understanding. They suggest that we must possess the necessary component required to sustain such conviction, especially during difficult times. That component, of course, is faith. It often sees us through the storms of daily life and is the one constant in our lives that we can truly count on. Faith does not know what the future holds but knowing who holds the future. At Notre Dame, we work hard every day at instilling that belief and confidence in ourselves, and, most significantly, within our students. It is the spiritual bond that connects our entire community and is intended to bring us closer together. There will be times in our lives where we feel alone or even abandoned times when our faith is put to the test. When we are going through something difficult and wonder where God is, we must remember that the teacher is always quiet during a test. Quiet yet always present, aware, and ready to assist if and when needed. This school year, as we face all of life'slife's challenges and strive toward their solution, let us be mindful that we are human and imperfect and mindful that all things are possible with God'sGod's help. Mindful that….we can do all things through Him. Following British Columbia'sColumbia's education model, Notre Dame practices an inclusive model, promoting equitable learning access. To ensure that individual needs are met, Student Services collaborates with parents, teachers, and students to create an Individual Education Plan. An Individual Education Plan describes individualized goals and what is required to achieve those goals. Individual Education Plans are often necessary because their learning needs are different from course'scourse's learning outcomes. The Notre Dame Student Services Department is a team of Teachers, Special Education Assistants, and the Student Services Department Head. Teachers in the department teach a variety of classes. Program Support focuses on developing organization and time management skills, improving reading and writing skills, and supporting students in their academic classes. Work Experience and an Apprentice Program allow students to build skills necessary for the transition into the workplace after high school. Life skills teach the functional curriculum, daily living skills, and social skills for students on modified school programs. Special Education Assistants work with students in the classroom, one-on-one or small groups, implementing Individual Education Plans. Special Education Assistants provide adaptations and modifications to the learning environment, materials being used, and information presentation.
  10. Right from our vision statement: "Immaculata: A Family that Fosters Excellence," we identify our students, staff, and families as all part of an extended family. Teachers know all of the students by their first names, figure out who their siblings are, and get to know their parents. Students know that the staff is available to them for academic, spiritual, and emotional support. We have had former students choose to return to Immaculata as teachers to continue their school journey. We have had generations of families choose to attend Immaculata so that children of former students can enjoy the same experience that they enjoyed. In 1938, the Sisters of Charity began formal instruction. By September 1950, St. Joseph Elementary School officially opened for the instruction of grades K-7 inclusive. With the completion of Immaculata High School in 1960, a complete Catholic education from Kindergarten to Grade 12 was realized. The Sisters of Charity of Halifax ably assisted the first principal. In 1979, the Basilian Fathers first became involved in our schools. Immaculata was officially under the direction of the Basilian Fathers until 1992. Plans for a new facility were begun in earnest. In September 1995, through the perseverance of Bishop Peter Mallon, a new Immaculata Regional High School was opened. The new facility can house 300 students, with plans to expand to 600 students when needed. Immaculata Regional High School is a Catholic High School, established by the Catholic Public School Society of Nelson Diocese under the Kelowna Catholic Public School Council's direction. Immaculata presents itself in service to the students and families in our Catholic community. We are a community of teachers, support staff, clergy, parents, and students engaged in the common task of empowering each student to learn how to do all that he/she is capable of doing. This development of healthy, capable young people with clear perceptions of their capabilities and high self-esteem should not be left to chance. The school's role in our ever-changing society is to give students good judgment and decision-making skills to cope with many new challenges. Students must leave school with a well-developed spiritual life, a high degree of self-awareness, empathy for social justice and third world ministry, and the ability to help their friends in a time of crisis. The ultimate goal of Immaculata Regional High School is to develop in its graduates a value orientation that puts a high priority on the formation of leaders in service to others. Specific objectives to develop such a graduate may best be summarized in five main categories. Openness To GrowthMaturity as a person: emotionally, intellectually, physically, socially, and spiritually - to a level that reflects some intentional, conscious responsibility for one's growth. Demonstration of mastery of those academic requirements for the advanced focus of an education. The acquisition of the necessary knowledge and understanding of the central doctrines and practices of the Catholic faith - to have examined one's feelings and beliefs intending to choose a fundamental orientation toward God and to establish a relationship with a religious tradition and community. Being in the last of their formative periods, our graduates should be well on the way to establishing their own identity. They should be on the threshold of moving beyond self-interest to loving, caring for, and sharing with others. At the end of this educational experience, our graduates should have achieved considerable knowledge of local and world communities' needs. They should be prepared to take their places in the world community as competent, concerned, and responsible members. Immaculata Regional High School works to be identified as a safe place where student learning occurs amid caring and sharing people. Grade 8 to 10 students participate in weekly workshops with various speakers from the community or staff members. Students begin to look at and plan for their future education and career ambitions. Furthermore, we discuss a wide variety of health issues, including drug abuse, nutrition, exercise, stress management, and healthy relationships. As part of this course, students are also required to complete thirty hours of community service. Given that community service includes serving school, church, or community, many organizations have benefited from our students' assistance. Graduation Transitions 12 is required for graduation in British Columbia. It is an opportunity for students to reflect on their knowledge and abilities and prepare for a successful transition to life after secondary school. Students will form a plan for life after graduation by collecting evidence of their achievements in the following required areas: Personal Health, Community Connections, and Career & Life.

  14. St. Andrew's Regional High School, an accredited independent school, offers programming for grades 8 through 12. Our mission is to provide Christ-centered education of the highest standard, equipping students to be leaders in their chosen profession. We recognize that not everyone learns in the same way or at the same speed, so we keep our class sizes small and encourage a dialogue that keeps everyone involved. 23. In the early 1950s, Archbishop Duke invited religious orders from across North America to come to Vancouver to found a high school to educate the children of ten Catholic parishes in east Vancouver and Burnaby (Corpus Christi, Holy Cross, Immaculate Heart of Mary, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Helen'sHelen's, St. Jude'sJude's, St. Mary'sMary's, St. Theresa'sTheresa's, Our Lady of Sorrows, Sacred Heart). Halifax'sHalifax's Sisters of Charity accepted his challenge, and in 1953 Notre Dame opened its doors for the first time. Notre Dame Regional Secondary is co-educational, offering academic, fine arts, business programs, athletic, performing arts, and other extra-curricular programs for students from grades 8 to 12. Notre Dame Regional Secondary School is a Catholic school, one with the mission of Christ, which seeks to educate the whole student — the body, the mind, and the spirit. View full school
