- Nestled in the lush Willamette Valley, with an easy drive to both the Pacific Ocean and the Cascade Mountains, the University of Oregon is renowned for its research prowess and commitment to teaching. Our students are smart, creative, and increasingly diverse. We support and celebrate their successes, and we work hard to provide inspiring educational opportunities in the classroom and beyond. Not so small that everyone knows you. Not so large that you feel lost. The University of Oregon is one of just two schools in the Pacific Northwest selected for membership in the prestigious Association of American Universities, a consortium of 62 leading public and private research institutions in the United States and Canada. Our faculty members are as busy learning as they are teaching. This ongoing pursuit—and sharing—of fresh ideas and better ways is what sets apart top-tier research universities like the UO. We want to energize you with a liberal arts education that rewards your curiosity, sharpens your thinking, and challenges you to live your best life. In the process, the fruits of our teaching, research, and public service efforts return billions to Oregon's economy every year. We exist to provide Oregonians and their peers from around the world access to an excellent education. We challenge our students to question critically, think logically, communicate clearly, act creatively, and live ethically. We serve the people of Oregon, our nation, and the world through research, teaching, and outreach that benefit humanity, drive innovation, strengthen the economy, and transform lives. We have students from all fifty states and more than a hundred countries. Our students, faculty, and staff represent all walks of life. Differing points of view. Every part of Oregon, our nation, and our planet. Because one of the best things about being at a great university is the chance to study, work, play, explore, debate, and engage with people from places you have not been to. Whose lives is nothing like your own? It's looking for commonalities while also celebrating differences. Learning from each other. Making the future brighter. Together. Throw sepia tones on an October morning in 1876. That is when 155 students showed up for the first day of classes at the University of Oregon. They filed into a looming, four-story building in the middle of a muddy clearing, with workers inside still hammering away on the upper floors and cattle grazing in the pasture outside. From these rustic origins grew one of the nation's leading research institutions. Today, our campus is vibrant and green, and we're pursuing the grand challenges facing our state and the world. Ducks are everywhere. They're leaders in business, industry, education, the arts, government, NGOs, and their communities. They include winners of Emmy, Oscar, and Tony awards, Pulitzer Prizes, Guggenheim Fellowships, MacArthur Genius Grants, the Nobel Prize, Olympic medals, Rhodes Scholarships, the National Humanities Medal, and countless other honors for achievement and public service. Our ROTC graduates more officers than any other civilian school, and we rank 16th for Peace Corps volunteers produced by the nation's largest universities. The university's academic heart, we bring together hundreds of top-notch faculty who are committed to both path-breaking research and mentoring the next generation. We are serious, determined, focused, and hands-on. But we are not your typical business school. We are a place that does not shy away from societal issues but tackles them, solves them. World-renowned for our groundbreaking Sustainable Cities Initiative, we are among the nation's finest professional schools for architecture and the arts, planning, public policy, and design. Teacher education? Of course, we do that, but we also train administrators and counselors. School psychologists and family therapists. Human service providers and clinicians. The Clark Honors College features small classes and close interaction among students and faculty. We foster an intense, creative exchange of ideas in a tight-knit, dynamic community. We teach students the power of storytelling through ethics, innovation, and action in journalism and communication. We are inventing the future of media, transforming "What If? Into "What Is!". We are the premier educational institution of music and dance in the Pacific Northwest. We offer programs in music performance, music education, composition, and choreography-performance. A professional law school with a drive for positive change, we thrive on faculty and student engagement, a commitment to solving problems, helping people, and groundbreaking research. Over one hundred graduate options are available. Masters and doctoral degrees. Certificates and specializations. Empowering students to take their education and careers to the next level. The UO ranks in the top 20 (or top 20 percent) nationally in such varied fields as creative writing, education, environmental law, landscape architecture, psychology, sports marketing, sustainable business practices, and many more. UO is a great place to study all kinds of things. Our highly ranked programs include anthropology, biology, comparative literature, geography, earth sciences, physics, psychology, sustainable design, and special education. Our research funding has more than doubled over the last 20 years and encompasses thousands of scholarly, scientific, and creative endeavors. It contributes millions of outside dollars to the state, generates jobs, and fuels innovation. It gives rise to groundbreaking discoveries, innovative technologies, and inspiring creative works. It enriches our culture, advances the economy, and improves the health and well-being of Oregon, the nation, and the world. View full university

The mission of the Oregon Tech Integrated Student Health Center is to support students by providing tools that encourage them to be knowledgeable about and actively invested in the benefits of self-care and choosing well to maintain their physical and emotional wellness. The overarching purpose of the Oregon Tech Honors Program (OTHP) is to provide Oregon Tech students with a complementary academic curriculum and a collection of extracurricular learning experiences that promote a more well-rounded future career professional, a socially responsible person, and a connected and liberally educated student: this is the idea of the professional as a person. A professional, understood in this way, is a person connected to many communities, locally and globally, scholarly and civic-oriented, and is a person who strives to make the most of those connections with others to lead a more meaningful life. The Financial Aid Office is committed to providing high-quality service to all students, their families, and the community. As part of that commitment, the office strives to provide accurate, easy to understand and enables students to make educational funding decisions. A total enrollment of about 4,000 allows for an intimate campus environment distinguished by small classes and a student-to-faculty ratio of 20:1. This personal approach provides many benefits of a prestigious private education at a public price. Our individualized and applied approach to teaching, which blends theory and practice, is the main reason our alumni are so avidly recruited. Whether they study software engineering, vascular technology, management, or dental hygiene, Oregon Tech students have unique opportunities to apply what they learn in lab-based classes, clinics, externships, and workplaces. This practical focus is reinforced in the classroom by instructors who come to Oregon Tech with relevant business, industrial, or clinical experience. And in every program, significant studies are underscored by a general-education core that broadens students' understanding of the world and teaches them to communicate effectively, solve problems, and think for themselves. Oregon Tech is best known for its traditional engineering and technological core, but new degree options (and surprising twists on old ones) are remarkably multi-dimensional. Oregon Institute of Technology is the only public institute of technology in the Pacific Northwest. It had successfully evolved through several stages since its beginning in 1947 – first, as a vocational rehabilitation school for World War II veterans known as Oregon Vocational School, then as a regionally-accredited institution, known as Oregon Technical Institute, offering associate degree programs, then as a four-year technical school known as Oregon Institute of Technology. For more than 70 years, the Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech) has focused on changing Oregonians' lives by preparing them to meet the technical and management needs of business, industry, and healthcare agencies. The Northwest Commission accredits it on Colleges and Universities. Individual programs also are accredited by the appropriate professional organizations. Today, Oregon Tech offers Bachelor of Science programs in engineering, health technologies, management, communication, and the applied sciences. These include bachelor's degree-completion programs offered online and over 20 bachelor's and master programs entirely completed at the Portland-Metro Campus (Wilsonville).

Doernbecher Children's Hospital has more children's specialists in one place than anywhere else in Oregon and Southwest Washington. But it is laughter that makes the difference in our care. With the latest treatments, technologies, and clinical trials, the Knight Cancer Institute is the only cancer center in Oregon designated by the National Cancer Institute. As the state's only academic health center, OHSU's breakthrough research leads to new cures, new standards of care, and a better understanding of the basic science that drives biomedical discovery. OHSU researchers are exploring new basic, clinical, and applied research frontiers. What sets OHSU apart from other institutions is the array of multidisciplinary and collaborative approaches our researchers take to solving the most intractable problems in human health—including diseases of the central nervous system, cardiovascular-related research, cancer, rare genetic disorders, and infectious disease. Oregon Tech offers statewide educational opportunities for Oregonians' emerging needs and provides information and technical expertise to state, national and international constituents. There are many opportunities for current students to gain international experience while attending Oregon Tech. Students who study abroad develop international skills and global understanding, and see the world in a whole new perspective. It is never too late to spread your wings and fly! Studying abroad is easier than you may think. Look into it now. The Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech) welcomes international students as applicants and vital members of our campus community. Oregon Tech is an accredited public university in the United States. The university is certified to admit F-1 visa applicants to a variety of international and exchange programs. We also attribute this to our dedicated professors, who provide personalized attention and are genuinely invested in their students' learning. Oregon Tech also offers several associate degree programs, both online and in Salem, Oregon.
