Concordia's Stephen Street Campus is home to the Redlands Building, one of Toowoomba's historic buildings that have been identified by the National Trust as being worthy of preservation. Redlands was built in 1889 for Mr. Edmund Wilcox, an Englishman. He purchased approximately 30 acres of land close to Toowoomba and erected Redlands as a home for his wife, Fanny, and children.
- As a caring community, we believe we are better together. We act in the spirit of grace because we recognize God's love for us. We aim to make people feel valued and appreciated. We take personal accountability for our learning and actions. We build a sense of social responsibility and commit to making a positive difference in our communities and the world. Concordia College has a rich history and tradition as an academic and a caring school, encouraging and supporting young people to be successful, independent learners. Established in 1890 in the Victorian country town of Murtoa as a boy's college and training ground for future pastors and teachers, Concordia moved to its present location in Highgate in 1905. St John's Lutheran Primary School was opened on the adjacent site in 1952. Since its opening, the school has enjoyed a long and close association with the St John's Lutheran Church congregation in Unley. Concordia College offers an engaging and supportive learning environment with a curriculum that encourages authentic learning that reaches well beyond the classroom. We work together to create an environment where our students are safe to accept challenges, take risks in exploring their learning, and achieve their best in all they Through personalized learning, we cater to our students' different learning needs at each stage of their development. Technology is integrated into all aspects of learning, encouraging our students to unlock different learning modes and processes. Concordia College welcomes students with special needs and values them as unique individuals. We offer an inclusive education program where students' individual needs are addressed through differentiation. Each campus has specialist learning support teachers who help identify modifications and adjustments that enable students with special needs to access an education relevant to their learning needs and personal goals. An International Baccalaureate World School since 2001, our learning program reflects our belief in a balanced education that fosters academic, emotional, physical, relational, and spiritual growth. We aim to provide a purposeful learning environment where students feel secure and supported, with opportunities that engage and challenge them to discover what is possible. The Primary School curriculum, based on the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and the world outside. The PYP is a framework guided by six transdisciplinary themes of global significance, explored using knowledge and skills with an emphasis on inquiry. PYP schools seek to ensure that learning is engaging, relevant, challenging, and significant. Our strong Pastoral Care program ensures that children are nurtured at every stage of their development. Our teachers value getting to know each student as a unique individual created and loved by God. A variety of co-curricular opportunities are offered to broaden and enhance opportunities for student engagement and learning. As students progress through the preceding years, we aim to offer a range of meaningful leadership opportunities. Students at all year levels have the opportunity to represent their classes on the Student Representative Council. The culmination of the Primary Years Programme is the Year 6 Exhibition, in which students showcase their Learning Journey from ELC to Year 6. As a service to our school and community's families, Concordia provides an Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) program for students in Reception to Year 6. The Middle School at Concordia, encompassing Years 7 to 9, is a vibrant and supportive learning environment that provides discovery, creativity, and innovation opportunities. Excellence in the classroom is encouraged, and students are challenged to engage in inquiry-based learning. The Senior School at Concordia, encompassing Years 10 to 12, is a challenging yet supportive environment, providing students opportunities to build on their strengths and interests as they prepare for their future learning and career pathways. Students in the Senior Years continue to develop critical literacy, numeracy, and lifelong learning skills while gaining knowledge and skills in specialized areas of interest. Our academic programs encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning goals and outcomes while supporting them to grow as confident, independent, and collaborative learners. The Senior School academic program builds on the International Baccalaureate Programme offered in the Middle School years. - The Concordia University of Edmonton has played an important role in Alberta's educational history since 1921. In 1987, Concordia University of Edmonton began awarding undergraduate degrees in the arts and sciences. Today, we offer over 45 majors and minors in the fields of Arts, Science, and Management, two after-degree programs, three master's degrees, and several graduate certificates and diplomas. Throughout our history, we have been committed to providing a higher education grounded in a liberal arts tradition. We are a globally aware and responsible university and focus on our learners and the community's needs. Learn about Concordia University of Edmonton through our students and faculty's voices, in our new video series, #myCUEstory: Faculty Academic Life Student Leadership Fine Arts Athletics Success & Wellness Get Involved Alumni In the regular university, students move from lecture theatre to a massive hall. Scientists stay with scientists, educators with educators, philosophers with philosophers. Marketers share ideas with other marketers. The Concordia University of Edmonton was born to be different. For almost one hundred years, our students came together through a shared belief, despite their varied interests and fascinations, majors, and minors. It created a unique culture, where we could learn and create with anyone. CUE is no longer a faith-based campus, but it remains a gathering place — a place of spirit — no matter what drives us. At CUE, we apply what we learn, in and out of our formal programs of study, to solve problems on campus and beyond. We earn a broad education, intellectually and emotionally, even as we specialize. We live and work on a small campus, a river valley oasis, but Edmonton is our workshop. CUE is a boutique university, small enough that every student is essential yet large enough for a global outlook. In and out of our classrooms and lecture halls, we translate what we learn into extraordinary hands-on experiences. We can sit in the back. However, at CUE, someone will always invite us to the front. If we are scientists, we can follow our curiosity into drama. A business student can graduate with a foundation in history, philosophy, and Indigenous knowledge. We can all learn new languages and traditions. We can test our ideas with people from every department and course of study, from around the world. We can try anything. We can change directions. We can be our best selves. At CUE, a center for innovation blends science and business with the liberal arts and Indigenous studies. At CUE, the president might sit down at our table in the Tegler Centre with coffee and ask us why we chose this school, how it could be even better. The close friends we meet at CUE, the friends we remain with our entire lives could be from five different faculties and five countries. We are continually seeking the right balance between teaching and research, specialization, and adventurousness. However, our ultimate goal has not changed since 1921: to be more than students and professors, to create a community of active citizens, of good and honorable people. The Concordia University of Edmonton is a community of learning grounded in scholarship and academic freedom, preparing students to be independent thinkers, ethical leaders, and citizens for the common good. The Concordia University of Edmonton will be recognized nationally and internationally for its graduates' knowledge, skill, integrity, and wisdom. View full university

On the northern outskirts of Austin, Texas, a parcel of land was selected to become Concordia's new home. The selection of an appropriate site is instrumental to any institution's success, and it would be the same for Concordia. However, some were skeptical of the location given its distance from downtown, while others consider even the acreage excessive. Is Concordia overextending itself? Is this the right decision? Those were some of the sentiments in 1926 when a 20-acre site along East Avenue north of downtown Austin was selected for the new high school. Looking back, the concerns over location and size seem humorous with its location so close to downtown. The Austin of 1926 was very different from the Austin of 2008. In the twenty-first century of urban sprawl, it can be challenging to imagine vast, open countryside just a few miles north of the Capital. Much has changed. Over the years, a quiet broad thoroughfare known as East Avenue was replaced by the concrete of a double-decked interstate populated by roaring traffic. Open fields were replaced by dense development and an airport that has already come and gone. However, through it all, Concordia remained and flourished by God's grace on that small tract of land between Red River and Interstate 35. Expansion of services will also allow the University to reach out to the community and the church, broadening external relationships and image. Combining these will create a new, healthier future for Concordia and deepen the foundation on which it is built. View full university

Concordia University Wisconsin is known for its breathtaking views of Lake Michigan. Many students will say the campus' location played a significant role in their decision to enroll. However, a large percentage of Concordia alumni living today—and even a few current faculty—will recall making a very different commute to school. That is because Concordia's original campus was located in downtown Milwaukee on 31st Street, between State and Highland Streets. From the school's inception in 1881 to 1983, students who attended CUW (then called Concordia College) did so. The inaugural class of Concordians, which was comprised of 13 students, met in the basement of Trinity Lutheran Church in downtown Milwaukee. The next year, the 31st Street property was purchased to start Concordia's first permanent campus. For the next approximately eight decades, Concordia College offered high school and the first two years of a liberal arts college program, providing classical, technical, and religious instruction for students who desired to prepare themselves for the Lutheran Church ministry. In 1978, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod authorized Concordia to become a four-year accredited college that would provide instruction in teacher education, nursing, medical assistant, social work, and engineering. In a farsighted move in 1982, the LCMS purchased the former campus of the School Sisters of Notre Dame in Mequon, Wisconsin, and the college was moved 15 minutes north of its original site. On August 27, 1989, the Board of Regents approved the move to university status, and Concordia University Wisconsin became the first University among the 10-member Concordia University System. In 2012, CUW entered into a strategic relationship with Concordia University in Ann Arbor. The University now consists of two residential campuses in Wisconsin and Ann Arbor, ten satellite centers located throughout Wisconsin and in St. Louis, and online programs that reach students worldwide, with one President and governing body presiding overall. The following year, Concordia spends $22,000 to purchase land and buildings previously owned by the state training school for boys in a remote location midway between downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. Concordia adds a fourth year of high school, then-freshman, and sophomore college years. Enrollment growth leads to new construction, including the Gymnasium (converted in the 1950s to Graebner Memorial Chapel) and Recitation Hall (now Meyer Hall). Concordia earned accreditation as a two-year college in 1921. Students complete their first two years at Concordia College then transfer to a Concordia senior college to finish their undergraduate degree. View full university

Essentially, the role of marketing is to understand market dynamics and leverage them to our advantage in ethical and consistent ways with our mission. Thus, the University's marketing planning process focuses on offering market-sensitive academic programs (product), convenient delivery system options (place), inbound and outbound marketing strategies (promotion), and competitive tuition and financial aid (price). The Office of Marketing and Communications leads marketing and branding initiatives for the University, collaborating with university and program leadership to advance its mission and brand and assist its programs in recruiting students and fundraising by developing promotional strategies. Our work is mostly at the top of the admissions funnel for tuition revenue programs and at the bottom of our fundraising program's giving pyramid. In other words, our work is about content creation across channels and platforms, establishing and affirming brand, increasing name awareness, and generating inquiries and applications. Although we are involved beyond those points in the purchase and donor cycles, Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate & Adult Admissions, the University Foundation, and program personnel largely lead conversion and cultivation strategies and tactics. The MarCom team comprises CUI employees, contracted partners, and vendors that provide expertise and develop data-based strategies and tactics across channels and platforms to meet university goals. The school that grew to become Concordia University, Nebraska opened its doors on Nov. 18, 1894, with one professor, a dozen male students, and a three-year high school curriculum. Concordia has since grown into a fully accredited, coeducational university that has granted tens of thousands of students degrees. The cornerstone on Founders Hall bears the initials E.L.S.L.S., short for Evangelische Lutherische Schullehrer Seminar, apparently the first name given to Concordia in 1894 by its German-speaking founders. Translated into English, the name was Evangelical Lutheran School Teachers Seminary. However, the school's early leaders did not worry much about settling on a consistent name. Dr. Jerry Pfabe, emeritus history professor and the university's archivist, has referenced a dozen official and unofficial names. Several of those names cropped up in the first few decades: Zweites Schullehrer Seminar Zu Seward, Nebraska (The second school teachers' seminary): The school's only purpose the early years was to train teachers for Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod parochial schools. The LCMS started its first teachers' seminary in Indiana and later moved it to Illinois. Lutheran Seminary/Evangelical Lutheran Seminary/Teachers' Seminary/Lutheran Teachers' College. Seward College: This was an unofficial name that appeared on baseball uniforms. No one knows for sure when Concordians first started playing organized sports, but they were believed to have adopted the Bulldog mascot in honor of Coach Walter Hellwege's pet bulldog, who accompanied him to games the 1920s.German College: This was unofficial—sometimes derogatory—the name used by Seward County residents to describe the college. Lutheran Normal School: "Normal school" training was the term for teacher education programs in the early part of the century. Concordia began offering bachelor's degrees in 1939, but teachers were not required to have bachelor's degrees for several more years in many states. Look long enough, and you may still find the initials C.T.C. stamped on objects around campus. Concordia Teachers College was the school's official name for decades; however, the "Teachers" was gradually dropped from recruitment materials as the curriculum expanded to include D.C.E. and pre-seminary programs, followed by a host of liberal arts majors in the 1970s and 1980s. Although Concordia is still operated under the LCMS's auspices, it now recruits students from many Christian denominations. Teacher education is still the most extensive program on campus but makes up less than half the student body. The school changed its name to Concordia University in 1998. View full university

- As a caring community, we believe we are better together. We act in the spirit of grace because we recognize God's love for us. We actively look for opportunities to support each other as we learn and grow. We commit to being authentic and honest in everything we do. We will challenge and encourage each other to achieve our personal best in all of our endeavors. We accept and celebrate differences and believe that they enhance and enrich our community. Students choose from a wide range of subjects as part of a broad and well-balanced curriculum, enabling them to gain the IB Diploma or the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) on completion of Year 12.

Did we mention that all of the halls are connected by miles of heated indoor tunnels? That means you can have all of the comforts of home without having to go outside.
