  2. What first strikes visitors to our school is a palpable sense of community. The atmosphere is vibrant, purposeful, and very friendly. Relationships are strong and supportive. There’s always a lot going on and, to an extent which is perhaps unusual, girls of different ages work unselfconsciously together, collaborating on the colorful range of events and activities that make up the fabric of the Woodford school year and contribute to the distinct ethos of the place. It’s a happy and cohesive community and an environment that liberates young women to take the risks and embrace the challenges that will prepare them for their future roles and responsibilities as leaders in tomorrow’s society. Woodford’s success is the result of striking a fine balance between tradition and innovation. Our values are traditional ones and we offer an unashamedly academic curriculum. We are keenly aware, however, that we are preparing our students for a working life none of us can yet anticipate. Our focus, therefore, is on developing the skills, attributes, and habits of mind that will equip them as life-long learners. Woodford leavers are articulate, self-confident, and skilled in the use of modern technologies. We aim to launch them into the world as self-starters, focused but flexible, armed with the courage to grasp opportunities and the resilience and humor to negotiate setbacks along the way. Above all we want them to be equipped to lead happy, fulfilling, and useful lives, wherever and however they choose to lead them. There is something for everyone. Our students will embark upon adult life conscious of their worth, ambitious for their futures, and aware that they are lucky indeed to have been educated here. There is something for everyone. We want our students to enjoy and appreciate their education and to leave Woodford equipped to embark upon happy, fulfilling, and useful lives, wherever and however they choose to lead them. Our Vision: Offering a full and balanced curriculum – and extra-curriculum – which encourages intellectual and personal development. Delivering expert teaching which builds on the previous attainment and makes learning an active, rather than a passive, experience. Developing the practices and resources to support independent learning. Creating opportunities for students to develop leadership and representation skills. Promoting opportunities for serving and supporting others. Providing platforms to showcase student skills and achievements. Scheduling co-curricular activities which encourage creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving. Bringing the curriculum to life by emphasizing, wherever possible, a real-world connection. Making available individual advice and guidance to support students in planning for their futures. Encouraging a sense of global responsibility. Learning is the core function of a school, but it’s not, of course, an activity confined to schools, nor an individual’s years in formal education. It is, quite literally, a cradle-to-grave activity. A readiness to learn and to go on learning, and the skills to do so with increasing independence and enjoyment, are attributes that will set a school leaver up not only for Higher Education and employment but for life. We set a premium therefore on developing the skills, attributes, and habits of mind in our students that will equip them with the confidence and versatility to adapt to whatever challenges the future brings. The curriculum at Woodford is academic and, as you would expect of a Grammar School, designed to stimulate and challenge our very able students.
  3. Wallington County Grammar School, one of the best schools in the country. What makes us great is that, at our core, we care very deeply about our students, both past and present. We are renowned for the quality of our pastoral work, warmly supporting our pupils to become happy, confident individuals equipped with the qualifications, skills, and attributes to succeed in a globalized world. We are dedicated to developing as successful individuals, creating a positive environment where all of us will learn. We never fail because we never give up. We believe in ourselves. We believe in each other. We believe in Wallington County Grammar School. Being a boys selective school founded in 1927 that welcomes girls into the Sixth Form, we work within the Folio Education Trust, blending the best of tradition with innovation to engage and inspire our students to be the very best they can be. Because of this our students make progress within the top 2% of all secondary schools in the country at GCSE and go on to gain places at the world’s top universities. The school was rated as 'outstanding in all categories ' by Ofsted in 2017 which is a rare achievement of which we are extremely proud. This success is born from our core values of self-discipline, endeavor, and excellence: being self-disciplined enough to always show deep compassion and respect for all members of our community endeavoring to always approach our work with passion and enthusiasm, never being afraid of failure or mistakes but embracing them to learn from and better ourselves reaching excellence, not just in the classroom, but as well-rounded individuals who succeed in many aspects of life be they sporting, artistic, intellectual or social. We tailor our curriculum to ensure students have nurtured a well-rounded individual, excelling in core subjects like mathematics, English, and the sciences but who are also deeply knowledgeable about the arts and humanities. Our co-curriculum further enhances our students’ character, forging outstanding sportsmen through our superb coaching program and creating individuals who are passionate about representing their club or society, house, year group, and school. Above all, we celebrate our incredible students through a culture of praise and recognition to make sure they leave us with the conviction that they can achieve anything they put their minds to. Wallington County Grammar School's motto 'per ardua ad summa' means 'through difficulties to the heights and is a perfect description of the journey young people take through their life in school. Growing up isn't easy and students, staff and parents will face many challenges and difficult decisions along the way as each person strives to recognize and reach their personal best. At WCGS the School does what it takes to surround members of the community with the necessary support to unleash their aspirations and develop a true love for a school which is the conduit through which students become well-rounded, mature young adults with a sense of emotional and social intelligence. We believe that every person will reach their personal best and overcome any challenge through a shared culture and ethos of ‘self-discipline’, ‘endeavor’, and ‘excellence’. We are dedicated to developing as successful individuals, creating a positive environment where all of us will learn. We never fail because we never give up. We believe in ourselves. We believe in each other. We believe in Wallington County Grammar School. Our culture and ethos and the practice that flows from it are at the heart of the School’s drive to deliver its vision. Promoting and maintaining excellent standards of conduct is one of the School’s key aims. That aim is fundamental to enable every person to achieve their potential and learn to become an effective, independent, self-motivated learner. High standards of conduct and effective learning go together. Just as we teach and model effective learning in the subjects of the curriculum, we must model and teach the excellent conduct for the learning we expect people to display at all times. As a traditional but innovative School, our practice is guided by our ‘Core Values’. We arrive together at WCGS with individual knowledge and understanding, different backgrounds, experiences, and expectations. For this reason, our clear values must unite us and guide all of our work. Everybody is to understand why our values are there and what they mean as guiding principles for our daily work. A test of our core values is in our words and actions both in the classroom and within the WCGS community.

Draig Fynki assembly is used to promote & celebrate the use of Welsh Second Language within the school. Built in 1968, the School is set on a five-acre site with two grass pitches. Basketball/netball and a floodlit multi-use court are integrated into the recreation area. Alongside, are natural areas that include a pond, wildflower garden, planted copse, willow tunnel, and vegetable planters. We encourage much learning and play in our outdoor environment and we currently have plans for further developments. We have recently installed a gazebo that acts as an outdoor classroom, quiet area, all-weather facility, and a meeting place. This was funded through a grant from the Big Lottery Fund, our hard-working PTFA, and other donations. Internally, the school consists of a multipurpose hall around which are our three classrooms. Class 1 is our Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 Foundation Phase Class. This class has access to the outdoor area and has toilets that are easily accessible from the classroom and the outdoor area. Class 2 (KS2 Years 3, 4, 5 & 6) share a double classroom space that has two direct access doors to outdoor areas. A disabled toilet is situated off the school hall. It is easily accessible from both within the school and the outdoor area. All areas within the school, including the toilet facilities, are cleaned daily by Mr. Willets our caretaker. Ysgol Llandrillo is a mixed County Primary school in the beautiful North Wales coastal resort of Rhos-on-Sea. It was officially opened in September 1994 when the previous Infant and Junior Schools of Llandrillo-Yn-Rhos amalgamated. We aim to be an excellent place of learning at the center of the community, promoting high expectations and a love of learning by offering a wide range of opportunities that develop pupil’s physical, emotional and social skills whilst equipping them with the knowledge, understanding, and talents for life and leisure. Our curriculum is responsive to the needs of our children and changes in society and through constant monitoring, we ensure that it is broad, balanced, relevant, inclusive, and well planned. We engage our children's learning through a curriculum that develops, stretches, and excites their imaginations. In our school, you will see children learning outdoors, through play, in small groups, through sport, music, drama, art, and computers from their teachers and other adults before school and after school. This diversity of experience allows every child to enjoy success and sets the foundations for life-long learning. At the very heart of our curriculum are the core skills of literacy and numeracy. Choosing the right school for your child is vitally important, possibly the most important decision you have yet made as a parent. Most of us want a good education for our children but we also want them to be happy and to feel valued and safe. At Ysgol Llandrillo, we believe that we can offer our pupils the experiences which will provide these things, a good quality learning experience, and a happy, safe environment. We pride ourselves in the broad, balanced, and full education program we provide at all stages, Foundation Phase (Nursery, Reception, Years 1 & 2), and Key Stage 2 (Years 3 – 6). The high standards of teaching and learning at Ysgol Llandrillo are a credit to the hard work of both staff and pupils. We aim to create a supportive school community, one that has a safe and inclusive learning ethos and prepares all students in terms of qualifications, values, and skills to live and work in a global community. Our values are very important to us and it is expected that all who work and study at Enfield County School will ‘buy’ into them. It is for this reason that they are widely published and referred to throughout the school year in assemblies and at Information Evenings and Induction Days. They are also part of the pack sent to all job applicants. We know our self-worth, developing self-respect while respecting others, having respect for our own and everyone else’s learning, as well as respect for the environment. We take personal responsibility for our work, our learning, our duties, indeed for all of our actions and for following school procedures. We ensure justice, fairness, and equality of access to all school experiences. We work together for the common purpose of the wider community. 13. Hsinchu County American School (HCAS) was established in 2016 to fulfill the vision of Dr. Johnson Korrnell Huang to challenge the current education system in Taiwan. In summary, he saw the need to produce students who will have a lasting impact on society - changing the world and saving lives. Dr. Huang also envisioned students who will stop, think (critically), and act (fearlessly). Dr. Huang believes that just as the purpose of a hospital is to save lives and to alleviate pain, the mission of a good school is to influence future generations and to create aspirations. By combining the Western educational principles with Chinese educational philosophies, students at HCAS will benefit by learning the best of both cultures while being oriented and setting their standards toward North America. Regardless of whether our students decide their futures in Taiwan or abroad, they will be equipped for success in our complex globalized society. There are many stakeholders at Hsinchu County American School (HCAS). These stakeholders include the Board of Trustees, parents, teachers, students, and members of the administration as well as the staff. Two of the important functions of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) are to streamline the communication between parents and our school and to give support to our school. PTA at HCAS was not created from an appointment from the school nor by the election from the parent body. Parents from all grades simply began to gather on a volunteer basis to share their concerns in an ad hoc manner until the body formed its organization and momentum. HCAS then naturally decided to formally recognize this gathering as the official PTA meeting. As described by Horace Mann, individuals organized in voluntary associations, just as our education should be taught by the spirit, methods, and discipline of a free society. Currently, parent representatives from all grades meet once a month at our school. At Hsinchu County American School (HCAS), student council members are elected every academic year to represent the student body and to serve as a channel for communication for administration and other stakeholders of the community. Student Council provides a unique opportunity to put forward the issues and policies that matter to students. As originally espoused by John Dewey, student council activities often engage students in learning about democracy and leadership. HCAS expects our student council members to voice their opinions and concerns politely and confidently to our parents, teachers, admins, and fellow student body. Therefore, we anticipate HCAS student council members to demonstrate a higher level of maturity in character and merit in academics. The goals and purposes of special councils and associations in the school are to build up our community in the spirit of collaboration and democracy. We anticipate constructive voices which will help move the school forward in a positive manner. Student council members should not trivialize democracy, but rather cherish it. View full school

  15. View full school
  16. View full school
